The dramatic story of ‘90s country music star Brady Seals, from the heights of fame with Little Texas to personal lows with anxiety, depression and divorce. Brady was the keyboardist/ singer of multi-platinum country group Little Texas and is the cousin of Dan Seals (England Dan & John Ford Coley) and Jim Seals (Seals & Crofts). Brady co-wrote the iconic radio smash "God Blessed Texas" and in this book he reveals how God not only blessed Texas, but how He blessed and guided Brady through the triumphs and tribulations that fame and fortune bring. The memoir starts at the peak of Little Texas' chart storming career and takes the reader through him leaving the band, working in the recording studio with the legendary Rodney Crowell, fronting another critically acclaimed group called Hot Apple Pie and shares some unbelievably hilarious road stories along the way. Brady writes honestly about his walk with God and talks openly about his struggles with temptation and grief. Each chapter is filled with biblical inspiration and how God's awesome power, mercy and grace was instrumental in making him the father and man he is today.
I discovered Little Texas way back in the mid 90% and loved their blend of country rock and great harmonies. Brady Seals has an amazing voice. I enjoyed reading this book about his life. His openness about his struggles with depression, illness and bereavement is refreshing. The devotional pieces at the end of each chapter are encouraging and heartfelt.
A raw, honest and personal look into Brady's life. His faith, humility, persistence and resourcefulness has enabled him to both survive and thrive. I met him after a Seals & Crofts 2 concert and he was so genuine and personable. The concert was incredible and I am happy to see his musical life is back on track. A very inspiring and uplifting read. Highly recommended.
Thank you Brady for writing this memoir. I’ve been a fan of yours specifically since the first LT album came out. It’s so great to see such a Godly forward Memoir from a Celebrity.
A must read! As a lifelong fan of Brady and Little Texas, this was a treasure! Brady is a stand up guy, and I have nothing but mad respect for him. I even got an autographed copy!
I really enjoyed reading this book! I've been a fan of Brady Seals since his days in Little Texas in the early 90's. I have enjoyed his solo cd's immensely over the years. He sings with emotion and is underrated! He's a great songwriter too! He deserved a lot more success than he has received. I love the traditional country sound he has and his voice is amazing. You can see he truly adores his fans and is thankful for what God has given him so far. I am grateful that he's still writing and playing music! This book is highly recommended. I love reading biographies. So many great stories in this book, makes you think back in time. You'll feel the happiness and sadness throughout the book and will feel connected to Brady Seals. I could relate to so many things he mentioned in the book, I feel like I know him personally after reading this book.
