An Unforgettable Wedding

This may not have been exactly what I anticipated but it was completely in character! And the spirit of the season lives on. I really liked this addition to Charlotte's, Beth's, and Kirstie's stories, individually and collectively. This group does nothing halfway or without some sort of dramatic flair and Ryan and Kirstie's wedding is no exception. Hehehe. There's an unexpected party crasher and things go wild!

No-one expected Klempner to become the Pied Piper but as things go topsy turvy, that's exactly what happens. 🎶🎺 Even he's baffled, which just makes it comical.

Intertwined with all of the wedding festivities, Klempner is trying to find his identity and Michael is trying to... pollinate... Charlotte. 😄♨💥🍼

This may be a new series but it is a continuation of several prior series that are intricately woven together. So, if you've never read the prior books / series and were to just jump in, would you be able to keep up? Probably not, at least initially. You don't need to have read everything but having basic knowledge of the relationships will make the world of difference. The more you've read, the more you'll likely enjoy the first installment of this series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

A wedding to remember. Things are off to a start. The wedding dress is almost done. things are starting to come together until you find out abut the theft. the construction isn't going to be done in time for the guest of the wedding. This is where you see them really come together and support each other . Which makes them family and not by blood. And that is what families do for one another, I loved that you got to see so many sides to Larry and I laugh so hard about those children. All the children wanted to be with grandpa k. yep i know it got me a chuckle with that name. Ill hush up about those maggots and the kids questions. Kirstie and Ryan will have one remember able wedding day. With that said i laughed and chuckled so much and was rooting for a one storying telling day that would sure come out ok.

What a wedding! You can trust Simone to always deliver something totally unexpected. Not only does she have an amazing imagination to bring a storyline so engaging you won't be able to put the book down, but she is able to bring the maximum out of her characters. The reader is given a demonstration through the easy, warm, close-knit friendship our original triad and their extended circle have for each other and we witness their interaction in a Christmas bliss, rather than a dramatic life-threatening situation for a change. The preparation for the wedding is intense and we see Klempner play private sleuth to help out friends. The wedding reception itself is a disaster and Georgie is given the opportunity of being a heroine and save the guests. That act of quick-witted action earns her an acceptance and respect that she badly needed to not feel like an outsider. The greatest shock is Klempner's new-found talent with pre-school children. His abilities to play Scout's master is totally unexpected, not just for the reader and the other characters in the book but for himself also There is nothing the friends can't do when they pull together to give the newlyweds a reception they won't forget. True to being an erotic romance, we are titillated with Kirstie and Ryan's steamy wedding night. One of the guests, Borje shows a growing interest in Georgie which is an interesting turn for this otherwise lonely girl. Little does she know that Borje shares some of her father's "proclivities". I do hope Simone will consider writing about Georgie and Borje, also we just have to know if Charlotte is pregnant with Michael's baby. So please keep the story going, we all love these characters like old friends.

I haven't read any of this series and initially it was a little hard to follow who was who. But once I got into the story, I found it totally enjoyable and loved how everyone came out to help when help was needed. I definitely want to continue on with the series and find out how some of the characters got to be where they are and where they will end up. I checked out some information on the series and it looks like it could take some time getting through it. But, fear not, if you decide not to read anything more, this novel can be read as a stand alone book. This particular novel is suppose to be Ryan and Kirstie's story. But except for some of the anxiety that these two are feeling with the planning for the wedding, you really don't get a lot of information about them. I guess that's kind of the reason you get to meet so many of the characters that will show up in other books in this series. Anyway, how everyone comes together to help with the wedding is fun to read and makes you want to be part of this big and unusual and unique family.

Simone’s new story is everything I need in a book. Winter Wedding is an exceptional read with the perfect tasty blend of the characters I love. It has just the right amounts of family, happy times, love, steamy sex, thrilling near-disaster, comedy, heartwarming friendships—and babies.

In this Part 1 of The Lover’s Children, the focus is on the positive as the family comes back together again to share with each other, celebrate together, help each other in the way Charlotte, James and Michael + family always do: wholeheartedly. And the only actual tragedy appears to be the wedding dress. Try this fab five-star read, I know you’ll love it. I know you’ll be hooked on these awesome characters as they play out their lives and loves!

This was such a fantastic story - especially if you've been following the Triad, Kempler & Mitch, Elizabeth and Richard and Kristie & Ryan's stories. I am so happy to read of what happened once Kempler got home, and everyone's lives. As with Simone Leigh's stories, there is plenty of action, steamy hot goodness and love. I cannot wait to read on and see if Georgie will find her own ever after!

Read this series first

I enjoyed this, but the extensive cast of characters take some following and I suspect is easier for a reader already familiar with them all. There are many intriguing back stories hinted at and I may need to seek out the whole series.

I’ve followed this series and was really looking forward to the next instalment in the story. This covered the wedding of one of the group . I love the way that Simone develops the characters in the story so that you are interested to discover what happens in their lives. I don’t like to give spoilers but think it is safe to say I enjoyed seeing how Klemperer is adapting to life after his adventures in Natale, Georgie’s developing relationship with the main characters and all surrounding wedding preparations .

Then the wedding starts and...... What a wedding indeed! Wow! You could dine out on such a story for years, it would certainly keep your friends entertained for decades!

At the conclusion of this wedding you are left waiting to see what happens next for the ‘Triad’ , Georgie’s new friendship (Eeek!) and the newly-weds next adventure ! Can’t wait! Bring it on!

I was so excited to see another series started with the characters in this new book! The characters in this book are characters from prior series’. You don’t have to read them all before reading this book but if you love the characters as much as I do, you will enjoy reading more about them in previous series’ from Simone Leigh. She is a great author!

This book is based on the preparation of Ryan and Kirstie’s wedding. Their close family and friends each had some part in preparing for their special day. It shows how they all pull and work together no matter what happens. Everything was going great at the beginning but then things started happening that could ruin any wedding. Will they be able to make things work out so that nothing ruins Ryan and Kirstie’s special day? Some of the past characters really surprised me how they handled things during difficult times. Another great read by Simone Leigh!

The Most Perfectly Broken Wedding Ever!
“Winter Wedding” is the perfect tale to begin “The Lover’s Children” series. Bringing all of my favorite main characters together, Kristie and Ryan, Beth and Richard, Charlotte, James and Michael, Klempner and Mitch, with possibly new favorites (Georgie and Borje), working together with one goal, creating the perfect wedding. This is the only way a wedding can be with this group, perfectly broken. This tale also leaves you with some possible future suspense, if you think about the wedding photographer taking photos of Klempner that might be in a magazine. Can’t wait to see how that goes over. I loved this amazing holiday tale and am excited to continue the journey with Simone Leigh. This tale should be on everyone’s holiday TBR list!

This is a wonderful story! Kirstie and Ryan have waited for this day, and planned for it, so their wedding will be perfect, right? Wrong. Some things start to unravel, but when it seems the day will be tarnished, that's when friends and family step in to help. I liked seeing everyone come together in a story with a little less suspense and danger than many of the author's other books. There is still some tension and suspense when things go wrong, just not of the, "Am I going to survive?" type. And Charlotte has a surprise for Michael. This is a great start to this next series, and I look forward to more.

Kirstie and Ryan are having a winter wedding right after Christmas. Everything is going to be perfect! Oh, the best laid plans.... It truly becomes a wedding to remember. Construction on the mill is underway and the contractor has promised all would be completed in time to host the reception. You know how that goes. And that's only the beginning. Of course there are love scenes, but also quite a few laughs. Klempner is particularly hilarious entertaining the kids with some highly inappropriate stories. The entire cast of characters are involved in saving the wedding. This is such a lovely, happy holiday story. Loved it and hope to see more of Kirstie and Ryan, and Georgie and her possible new beau. So good!

I loved reading this romance story. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites. This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. Her books are steamy, engaging and well written. This book is no different. I enjoy this author's writing skills and attention to details that made this story pop. It is a well rounded story that is full of romance and hard to put down. I enjoyed how the characters brought the story to life. They are connectable and truly made the story for me. They kept the story engaging and made the story entertaining. A fast paced story that has great growth along with great growth of the plot that made the story easy to read. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This book “stars” Kirstie and Ryan, but the regular cast of characters shows up as well. Trying to get everything perfect, Ryan and Kirstie are tremendously disappointed when one thing after another happens that sets their repairs and updates to their home and future restaurant back time after time.

It’s great to have friends, though, and these friends are just the ones you want. When things aren’t going your way, they will literally do anything to help you in your time of need.

This is a great addition to the series. Also, considering the seriousness of each of the groupings of books in this series, it was great to see the gang get to have some fun for a while.

If ever Simone Leigh ever wrote a book that was just an all-around feel-good story, this is it. If you've followed any of the stories you'll recognize all the characters at Ryan and Kirsty's wedding. Things didn't go precisely as planned but, in a manner of speaking, the results were probably far greater than anticipated. I was so tickled with Granddad K and his entourage, although I have to confess, I'm a little worried about the wedding photographer. And Michael's initial response to Charlotte's request took me by surprise. 'Winter Wedding' is book one of "The Lover's Children" and I can't wait to see where Simone Leigh takes us with this new series.

A wedding in our BDSM series. That should be interesting.

This overall series has a lot of intrigue, mystery and action as well as BDSM, but for this story we get a break from all that and get to enjoy family. This story is more about the bonds between the various characters that have developed over the course of the story and about coming together as a family. But never fear, we still get our share of steamy scenes and chaos as one would expect from this author. The result is a pleasant pause in the frantic action of the previous few books and a highly enjoyable read.

Highly recommended.

Unusual & entertaining

There are so many characters in this story, mostly those from the author's other books. They have come together to organise a winter wedding for Ryan & Kirstie. Unless you've read those books you'll be confused with regard to the characters, their relationships. The couples now have babies. This story is about the preparations for the wedding, then the storm that almost wrecks it but for the quick thinking of the guys. Quite different from her usual books & the story is left open-ended. But you have the option of leaving this as a standalone or you can move on to the next story.

The big day is fast approaching and it’s getting to be crunch time. When things start going crazy the “Family” jumps in to make things right for Kirstie and Ryan. While Klempner tries to settle into “normal” life his past comes in handy and problems get solved but will he ever be able to shake off the demons of his past? Building issues, clothing issues, baby issues and life seem to keep everyone on their toes and yet it also seems to bring them closer together.

A very eventful winter wedding. I loved this story....so many new beginnings going into the new year. Kirstie and Ryan tie the knot. Klempner (Grandpa K) is settling down as a family man and kids love him! Will there be a new addition to the family? Will Georgie finally get a man and get on a relationship? What kind of relationship? Hmmm... The story of the Triad and their family and friends is the gift that keeps giving.

The happy couple were renovating their dream property, Kirstie's dress was a dream come true made by Mitch's magic hands, but there were delays with the contractor and some missing equipment and now some of their guests would need to find other lodgings, but James and Michael helped out with accommodations...but nobody had foreseen the change in weather...or that Larry was good with children...so you will need to read about this truly unforgettable wedding...I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I really enjoyed this story. I liked how Simone Leigh included the characters from her other books so the reader, if following the characters and other series get to visit the characters again and find out what is happening since the last story. The story had funny parts and steamy parts. I even have new characters, Georgie and Borje, that I'm looking forward to reading more about and find out about their story too. This was a great book and I can't wait to see what happens next in this series.

The perfectly imperfect

Winter Wedding is the first book in The Lover's Children series. This story is about Kirstie and Ryan's wedding and it is intertwined with the entire "Charlotte, James and Michael" series. Weddings never go off without a hitch somewhere and this wedding is not different. But the imperfect can be the perfectly imperfect and such the celebrations are here. This is another great story and I can't wait to read the next in The Lover's Children series.

Kirstie and Ryan and their wedding day, it is all hands on deck to make this special. I loved how Simone Leigh blended everyone together to make this happen. I was captivated from the first page, it was not exactly what I was expecting having read other books but I loved it all the same. This was a great story and the characters were wonderful and hopefully there will be more of these characters popping up......Loved it.

Winter Wedding. I enjoyed this story. It started slow and simple. It explains what happens to everyone after the crazy situation with Klempner. Klempner has to try and adapt to a normal life like everyone else. Now everyone moves on and prepare for Kirstie and Ryan's Wedding. The story continues to surprise me. This is an excellent addition to this storyline as it breathes and lives. Kirstie and Ryan have a few bumps along the way to their wedding day. Friends come to save the day as each character plays to their strengths. And make the couple’s Christmas wedding a dream come true. One little thing in this book made me LOL! Larry as Grandad K.
Loved it!

Simon has blended together some really good characters that I learned about from previous books really takes the notion of what a perfect wedding looks like—until thing start going wrong. There is a nice taste of suspense that’s woven in with the wedding prep and I think that this new series looks quite promising. You have got to the love the characters with their vibrant personalities and fun humor.

Book one in The Lover's Children series a well written story that had me laughing as I read. Kirstie and Ryan's wedding will be one that is talked about a lot. It goes to show how good friends can make something from nothing. I would say the old saying " When life gives you lemons, make lemonade was exactly what happened here. Well worth reading.
