This was actually two books of the series in the collection. This was a good storyline, focused primary on Nate and his family. They are decent, ordinary people (though if Amy is upset by the word crud and counts it as bad language, she must be perpetually on edge). I was a little perturbed by the introduction of Holly and Dillon, though the view of the collapse inside of O'Hare had some interest. This was not a random inclusion in the story and ends up with a "wow" impact. The Russian mafia opportunist seemed a bit far-fetched, but resolved well. The best of the story was of Nate and Dakota and I liked the young woman a lot. She was resourceful and had a lot of gumption.
This storyline is so engrossing that it’s a “one more page” book, with excellent characterization. The thought that this may be a look into our future is scary.
I believe I have read this book(s) before but my memory is poor but nonetheless still enjoyed it immensely. It had a hopeful ending and was an incredible adventure.
Books 1 & 2 - I liked them. Perhaps one person may not see or do all that Nate did but it helped paint a picture of what people might do or be like if the world went dark.
I stayed up all night reading this , about 7AM I finally had to give up and sleep. I finished it the next day , it was so good I wished I had read slower.
