Climbing hasn’t appealed to me, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to read this 20kg tomb as it provides an informative history (with scores of images) of what’s happened in Tasmania, where I live. Climbing seems to me to have more than its fair share of crazies, but I understand completing a challenge and living to tell. There is a lot of phrases such as ‘Bum’s Rush (24)’ that you just need to sail through. The stories are good, but a tad repetitive if you read for hours at a session. You also need Google to look up terms and phrases, but the book does have a good glossary.
