This is the story of a turtle named Avocado. Avocado was a turtle who stood-out in the turtle community because she liked to talk with others and have fun unlike the others. So, she was said to be a bad example and was cast out. That's when she met Lemonade the giraffe, Bacon the pig and Honey the bee. They were like her and accepted her for who she was. Avocado later understood that it was okay to be different. . Starting from the book cover, all the illustrations in the book are beautiful and connect with the story. The parallel illustrations for every few lines in the book are child-friendly. Accordingto me, the most important aspect in a children's book is the message it conveys. And this book shares two important messages. First, it is okay to be different and stand-out in a crowd. Second, one can get along with individuals with diverse characteristics and be happy. All these make the book better and it can definitely be given to young kids in their developing years.
Its a story about Avacado the turtle who is not accepted by the turtle community because his name is based on food, he liked to have a conversation with other turtles and didn't like to stay in the shell. He wasn't accepted in the turtle community and soon was kicked out. After that incident, he tried to change his life. Be in shell all the time, not talking to anybody, but one day he met Lemonade the giraffe who accepted him, however he was and didn't run away from him. He also introduced him with his friends, Bacon the pig and Honey the Bee. They all welcomed Avacado the turtle and played with him all the time. This made him realize that he didn't need to change if he wanted to be happy. He was just with the wrong community who had been bullying him and making him feel bad for being himself.
The cover and the title suited to the story. And it will be great for kids as it is attractive and has a lot of colorfum illustrations on it. I suggest it to kids of 5-8 years age. Also it's not a big read to bore them. So go ahead if you want your child to have a delightful noon :)
Book Title: Avocado the Turtle: The One and Only Author: Kiara Shankar & Vinay Shankar Format: Kindle
Book Title: The title of the book ' Avocado the Turtle: The One and Only ' is unique and promising.
Book Cover: The book's cover image is a cute and a young turtle with a beautiful and colourful background of the forest.
My review: Kiara has done it again. This time she expressed some powerful feelings of an individual using the character of a young turtle, named Avocado.
A budding writer and a teenage,r Kiara has that personality that every girl child must develop. Through the character of Avocado here in this book she has focused on some essential things like:
1. Being different is not deviant but innovative. An innovative mind always tastes success. 2. Do not be a part of the herd-like every sheep, but mark your existence by raising the voice and in action. 3. Communication is crucial, and unless one initiates it, nothing can be achieved. 4. Accept the changes, adapt to the new environment and continue doing your best.
The above four points are taught either during leadership skills classes or motivational classes. Kiara has given her readers an insight into the most valuable management principles in a little story. As I always say, it is not the no. of pages that matter in a book, it is the content inside it that makes the difference.
What I like: 1. The story 2. The colourful illustrations 3. The warmth others give to Avocado 4. The unique naming convention of the characters
What I didn't like: There is nothing to be disliked.
Characters: The character of Avocado. The little turtle teaches fundamental life lessons, and this stands as the highlight. The central character is the inspiring aspect of the tiny story.
Narration: A superb, engaging and colourful narration with inspiring words is found in the story.
Language & Grammar: Subtle language with quality vocabulary and language constructs is found in the story.
My Final Verdict: Little Avocado, the life master!

I really like this book . It is written by a 13 year old. The book is of a turtle avocado who is very different from other turtles. She's named after food and other turtles used to tease her for her foodie name. Other turtle used to live in their shells but she never used to like it she always love to travel, make new frnds, talk with them.
Due to her differentiation frm others, they made her leave their territory she felt so hurt and finally decided to live like others. But thn she realised it's not her who needs to chnge it's other trutle view who makes her regret her own nature.
Overall the book show us we don't need to chnge ourself for the sake of others. The language of the book is pretty simple, the cover is attractive and the book is so good. I loved it. Definately recommended for kids!
How many of you get to read a children’s book in your adulthood? Let me speak for all, not many!
But fortunately enough when I got a chance to review Avocado the Turtle, I grabbed it with both hands. I mean, why not!
If it being a kid’s book was not enough; the fact that it is written by a 13 yo girl will surely make you want to read it.
The book is all innocence and love. Just like how all the children’s books should be, it has a learning and a sense of simplicity and warmth. You will end up smiling ear to ear and would want to give a bear hug to the book.
I would say just give it a try and read for yourself!
This book has been written by a 13 year old girl and I'm amazed by the moral it holds. I mean it takes us adults to realize that we are enough by ourselves. People are so harsh on themselves to be seen as perfect, to match up the standard the society has set. They try to get a certain body type, life style, they try to fit in. And it's not pathetic, it's just so sad. It honestly takes so much to be brave enough to accept our own flawed-selves. To be ourselves and be confident about it.
Reading about this from a little girl is just so precious. The illustrations were beautiful. And the story used to convey this important message is just brilliant.
“What sets you apart can sometimes feel like a burden and it's not. And a lot of the time, it's what makes you great.”--- Emma Stone
Sometimes we feel different, maybe with emotions, maybe physically or mentally. Sometimes we are considered as different, like a black sheep. I would say we all are different, that’s what makes us unique. Otherwise, the world might have become a clone making factory.
Recently, I came across a Children book, even though Middle grade books are one of my favorites, but I don’t think we usually pick up Children book most probably.
“Avocado the Turtle” is about a cute little turtle, she is quite gullible and friendly, but other turtles didn’t enjoy her behavior so they told her to leave, will Avocado be able to make new friends? What will happen next?
I would suggest this beautifully illustrated book to parents who have kids between the age group of 3-8 years. This is a moral story book and you will feel good too. The book has used bright colors considering the taste of kids. I would truly recommend this. This cute little story is written by Kiara Shankar and she has written this book at the age of 13.
Avocado the turtle by Kiara and vinay shankar is the story about a turtle named avocado. Avocado is teased by the turtle community because of her name and also because she likes to talk.
One day the turtle community decides to kicked out avocado. She becomes very upset due to this but eventually makes new friends who understands her and loves to be with her.
The cover of this book is very eye catching and the language is very simple to understand.
The book is only 43 pages including illustrations so it's a very small book and won't bore you at all.
I liked the illustrations. they are very colourful and interesting.
The overall message given from this book is very good and inspiring.
Avacodo is a turtle who is very different from the rest of her fellow turtles and she is constantly feeling she doesn't belong. She ventures out on an adventure to find herself and learns how to stay true to herself. She makes new friends, discovers herself and finds happiness.
The book has been very creatively written, and filled with colourful illustrations. The images are very colourful and vivid. The strong morals and meanings of staying true to yourself have been wonderfully portrayed. The characters are very cute, the language is simple and easy to comprehend. The cover has encouraged imagination. I would recommend to young readers as it has great moral values, lucid language and a good plot. The illustrations are rich with colour and encourage creativity and imagination.
I really enjoyed reading this book to my little niece. The teachings of the book are very important for little kids, plus the pictures are very beautiful. Definitely recommend it!
The plot is based on a turtle named Avacado. So our protagonist in this book is an animal. Avacado is very friendly and loves to talk to others. But the turtle community isn't that friendly. They aren't happy about Avacado's nature. Thus they banish Avacado and our protagonist being upset restrict itself in its shell. But soon one new character comes in the plot. It makes Avacado realise a fact that we should not change ourselves for the world. The world will try to mould you into something that isn't you. But the real person won't budge from these factors. Instead he should flourish more when others will try to stop him. In the end, we shouldn't let our real selves get lost in this huge world. It's been awhile since I read any children's story. I love the names of characters and each character's development. The narration is good. The language used is lucid. The words used are simple and easy making it a good read for children.
We all are different, it is a fact but our society which performs in a set pattern have difficulty in digesting that fact. This book explains the whole fact wonderfully for our children with the wonderful character name Avocado and beautifully illustrated graphics this may be a perfect surprise for your baby. This book gives an extraordinary message of espousing self and self-love. I believe this fundamental philosophy should be explained to our children and the book does that job perfectly.
An inspiring story about a turtle named Avocado. Being different from all the other turtles, she gets shunned away. Later on, as she moves forward in her life, she meets new friends who understand her more than her own community ever did.
Written by Kiara Shankar, Avocado the turtle is a must read as it reflects important morals. You don't need change yourself just to fit in or impress someone, you have your own personality and thoughts which makes you an individual.
Another thing which I love about the story is the focus on a person's ability of understanding. One of the greatest tragedy of our times is people don't listen. They would either ignore or argue. Sometimes all you need is someone who just listen to everything that you have bottled up inside, even if no solution is found, just by listening to their thoughts and problems you can let them know you are there for them. Here in the story Avocado's new friend, a giraffe named Lemon does the same for her.
I always enjoy Kiara Shankar's writing style, it is absolutely extraordinary. Her stories teaches us good and valuable life lessons. Avocado's uniqueness particularly reflects the importance of embracing and accepting yourself and your individuality. I loved this book and would definitely recommend it.
"Be yourself and embrace the moment, even if others rejected you" . This is a story of a turtle that was abandoned by its fellow mates for being different. . Avocado, the she-turtle was outspoken and often came out of her shell unlike others. The turtle community forced her to leave their territory and to never come back. The disheartened turtle then finds a giraffe that seemed to be nice with her. He introduced her to the other friends in the jungle who were equally chirpy and happy in their own ways. They made her realize her worth and that she is perfect with the trait she possesses. . Child bullying is one of the most important factors in shaping one's psychology. A child’s mental and emotional health is determined by the overall behaviour and approach received in childhood. So, it is a must to take care of these delicate things by infusing positivity through a healthy environment. With this book, our little author has taken the initiative to spread all the good and wise things among the readers. The characters were well sketched considering their individual roles. It’s a short book and comes with colourful illustrations that made the reading even more fun
'Be yourself and embrace the moment, even if others rejected you'⠀ ⠀ Every ones in a while, I like going back to a children's book. As a kid, I didn't really read a lot of kids books because I had to listen to a 'moral story' daily at school ( catholic school stuff I guess) and by the time I was 6 I was bored of those and wanted to dive head first into novels. Now that I don't get to see a lot of morals ( in stories or otherwise) I crave for the simplicity of those little stories. ⠀ ⠀ This month, I picked up this book and I am so happy I did. It came with adorable illustrations of the tiny, cute turtle. The story was simple, ideal for a 3 -8 yr old (I was a very early reader and so is my little cousin). Innocence and love⠀ ⠀ Written by a 13-yr old, this book is perfect for kids! I'm gonna get a physical copy for my cousin's birthday soon! ⠀
This inspirational story gives us a powerful message "Be who you're". I really enjoyed reading it. I lov'd to tell this story repeatedly to my kids since such a motivational story too. The turtles who aren't enjoyed with the different one living in their society. About, Avocado the Turtle, she is very talkative in nature. She loves to come out of the shell and talk to everyone frequently. The behaviour of Avocado was disliked by other turtles. So, all are planned to treat her avoid and left away. The avocado felt sad and she doesn't have home to live, even though she won't changed her attitude for no one. She got some other friends like giraffe, pig and honeybee who are inspired and liked her company. Now, avocado is herself, enjoyed and played with them. The true lines of the story is "be yourself" which explains don't change for others, peoples may change as per their thoughts. I highly recommend to read all kids, adults and parents.
Avocado is certainly not an ordinary turtle. She is dismissed by different turtles for being excessively well disposed of. At some point, they conclude she should presently don't be invited to their turtle gathering, and she is sent away. Angry with first, she ultimately meets new companions and begins to comprehend it doesn't make any difference what individuals need her to be. Join Avocado on her excursion to track down her actual self.
An inventive psyche consistently tastes achievement. Acknowledge the changes, adjust to the new climate, and keep giving a valiant effort.
The front of this book is exceptionally attractive and the language is extremely easy to comprehend.
The book is just 43 pages. A beautiful and fascinating one.

The cover of the book is very attractive. The title is totally apt. The plot of the story is interesting and inspiring. The authors have narrated the story amazingly in a very simple language. They have described their views about 'Be Yourself' with the help of beautiful illustrations. The interesting thing about the book is that it is written by 13 year old.

Title: Avocado the Turtle BY Kiyara Shankar , Vinay Shankar
Review. Cute illustration and adorable premise. Although I am truly a printed book lover E-books are great to have on hand for many reasons.
Though it deserved a five stars for being a small package deal.
This is a Inspiring story of a Turtle "Avocado" that was abandoned by its fellow mates for being different. She is rejected by the other turtles for being too friendly. Turtles community forced her to leave their territory and to never come back.
Anyway, Such a cute book to teach the kiddos the value of a Friendship and being nice to others! Although the books says good for ages 5-9 year old loved it.
Avocado was a unique turtle. She loved to communicate, to come out & was named after a food. Her qualities were not accepted according to the rules of Turtles which is the reason she was humiliated & she had to try to change herself. Despite of trying, she was abandoned & she meets new friends away from her home where she finds her true worth..
Coming to my views : The Book is too cute for anybody to fall in love. The beautiful colorful illustrations are amazing. The story conveys the self acceptance. One can understand that we will end up being sad if we are in wrong place with wrong people. Happiness can be found with the right one's only. Avocado's friends were also too cute. It is a very short read that will take less than 10 min but I just can't stop admiring it. It conveyed it's moral in a cute manner & definitely it is one of the best book to gift to your children. Strongly recommended.
This book is simply too sweet. I loved people who encourage the hobby of reading among their children. I, being a book lover, knows the advantage of reading at every step. Kiara Shankar, a 13-yo has written this simple and sweet story with beautiful graphics and illustrations. I'm truly moved by it all.
Well, the blurb is enough to tell you the story, but the concept is prevalent. Avocado, a turtle is full of life unlike other of her kins. The other turtles got rid of her only because she was not like them in behavorial terms. The story teaches us that there is nothing wrong with standing out of the crowd. There is nothing wrong in being different. There is nothing wrong to not follow a particular perspective. The story also tells us that if the crowd around you is forcing you to become like one of the, then you definitely are in the wrong place. This short children book is a total 5 minutes' read. It could be a best gift for your kiddos. Language and cover everything is simply cute. That bow over Avocado's head is my favourite.
This is the story of a Turtle named Avocado who is teased and not accepted in the Turtle community because of his name ,Avocado which is basically a fruit . And also because Avocado is cheerful wishes to talk and loves to get out of his shell. Whereas every other Turtle prefers staying in and not talk much .They banish Avocado from their community .Avocado is heartbroken and now for long time doesn't come out of his shell . But then he meet some new animals who accept him the way Avocado is and makes Avocado realise that there is nothing wrong in his behaviour and other Turtles are just the wrong kinds to judge Avocado ,the way they did. And then A8vocado lives happily with the right friends .
This story clearly sends a strong moral message of self love and worth and is definitely recommended to kids of age group 4-8 years . The illustrations are very beautiful and makes reading fun .The story is short and isnt complicated but precise and lovely. The language is also easy and Title and the cover both are good too . Overall ,Avocado the Turtle is one little kids should read for its moral message .
This book was a mind-blowing read. It's a perfect book for kids to teach them that they can be different however they want and shouldn't feel bad about it. If they feel bad about it because of the people surrounding them that haven't accepted them as different then it's not their fault, they just haven't found the right people who accept difference wholeheartedly. The book had very nice graphics and the writing was simple for kids too. Overall, a book that makes kids believe that being different is not bad but it's something beautiful that not only them but also others need to accept.
1. Cover Page is innovative and attractive to young minds. 2. Language is crisp and easy to understand. 3. It is written beautifully in short sentences. 4. The illustrations are eye catchy and interesting. 5. The story evolves around a turtle who is different from all among its own species but was kept aloof by all. 6. The author clearly explained the moral behind the story. 7. No matter how you are - one of a kind or different you too has the reason to rise and shine. 8. Destiny is in your own hands, you create it and it will finds its way to your uniqueness and distinct group of friends who inspire you appreciate you. 9. Young people minds will easily grasp the attention by looking at the illustrations what the author wants to portray. 10. Overall I quite like the plot and how it develops step by step giving us a valuable lesson at the very end.
This is a perfect children's illustrated read ! OMG I truly enjoyed it. For mommy's with their little kids of age 3-8 I think this book prove to a very entertaining read. Not only it is filled with colourful and vivid animated characters like turtles, bees , giraffe amidst wild and green forest but also this simple yet beautiful story tells us few life lessons.
It is okay to be different It is fine to have your own way of lifestyle. It is fine to have the zeal for life and not always be inside your shell.
It will teach kids to respect all but carry themselves like they want to.
If you don't belong here doesnot mean you don't belong anywhere. There are like minded people. The tribe will find you :)
I adore this book and the message it presents! I remember how difficult it was to handle wanting to fit in when I was a child and I imagine it's even worse for children of the social media age. Enter this book, which presents gorgeous illustrations and an engaging method of storytelling with a vocabulary which should appeal to a wide variety of ages without being too simple or too complex.
I enjoyed reading about Avocado The Turtle and her journey towards finding her true self when she's rejected by her own turtle community for being friendly and unique and learning that she can make good friends without pretending to be carbon copies of them. Definitely worthy of sharing with the children in my family! Great message for kids and adults alike.
This story is about turtle named avocado. She was teased by turtle community and thrown out by her community. So she made new friends from other community. This story gives good moral to apply in our life. A short and sweet story that everyone can pick. This is wonderful children book. Title of this book is nice. Cover picture looks gorgeous. Graphics are eye catchy.
When I was reading this book, a smile appeared on my face. This book is for children specially, but when I was reading, I remembered my childhood. I remembered myself reading Champqk, Nanhe Samrat. This book is so cute. After every page you will see a printed image depicting the story told befor that page. This is short read, hardly takes few minutes.
This is story of a turtle named Avocado. She is different from other turtles and that's why she is the victim of taunts and comments for her way of living. She has no friends in turtle community. One day when she decided to not come out of her shell, something different happened to her.
The way of illustration is really good and is interesting. Not only children instead adults and old person will also love this book.
