Ellen loves her human refuge, tucked away in the prairies on the planet Beshtast. She and her friends call it “HuManor,” and they’ve spent months making it into a home. But with the holidays coming, and time passing, she’s starting to feel isolated. Lonely. She’s begun to ask herself what she wants out of this life. She’s begun to wonder if there might be something more out there for her.
Some of the women are planning to travel back to the city of Xenyle. With new leadership in place, it’s safe to come out of hiding. Ellen decides to go with them. Who knows? Maybe she’ll even find the partner she’s always dreamed is out there. Someone kind and gentle, with a quiet demeanor and a steady, even temper.
Reger has lost his job, his home, and everything that matters to him. After years of commitment, he’s been betrayed by his best friend and left with nothing. Now his body has bonded with a human; one of the people responsible for destroying his life.
Even as he hides in the brush watching her, he hates her. Passionately, viscerally, completely. But his body has other ideas. When he hears of Ellen’s plans to return to the city, he knows what he has to do. He may hate humans and everything they stand for, but the pair-bond will not be ignored. And if he has nothing left, he might as well take something for himself.

This is another brilliant well written book by juniper. It has kidnapping obviously, fated mates and a happily ever after ending. Reger is spying on the Humanor when he first sees Ellen and the pair bond snaps into place. He’s horrified by it, especially when he’s been protesting against the humans for so long. When distance doesn’t work to get Ellen out of his head he goes back. There he hears that the single humans are planning on going to the city to find mates, he decides to kidnap her and take her to the space station that is his new home. He takes her and when she wakes up she is terrified.

This book is well written and will get you to care about the characters from the beginning. It is a story told from both points of view and gives you great insight into the characters. It is a love story with a HEA and no cheating. I will be looking for more books from this author. I haven't read the stories before this book but i will be reading them now. It is a standalone story but I want more of the whole picture.

This book 3 in the Pallasan Chronicles Series is an amazingly well-written story with very interesting and well-crafted characters. These wonderfully written characters, with their flaws and all, will make you feel their emotions and you will root for them to make the connection. They have a wonderful and amazing chemistry in this very well-thought-out story. I cannot wait to read more in this Series.

Ellen and Regers story is a great continuation for the series. Poor Ellen was so traumatized but Reger helped her in more ways than one. The story shows how love can strength and help heal the heart. I can’t wait to see who the next story will be about.
