Embarking on a new journey, Santana Summers wants nothing more than to enjoy her new city, new friends, and new career. But when one of those friends is one of Chicago’s most eligible bachelors, Santana finds herself getting more than she ever bargained for.

Being the youngest of seven brothers, Josiah Alexander Rose is the quintessential playboy. He is not interested in settling down until his father gives him a proposition he cannot refuse. It’s the opportunity of a lifetime, but to execute it, dear old dad wants Josiah to settle down, show some responsibility and gain a wife. Josiah thinks the idea is absurd until he and Santana come up with a plan that just may land Josiah that coveted position.

It is the perfect solution, and things go well until what was intended to be an arrangement turns into many nights of unabashed passion. With each growing day, emotions mix and the lines of the pretentious and reality are blurred. Will Santana be foolish enough to hand over her heart to Josiah? Is Josiah willing to risk it all for her?

STORY:
This was an enjoyable read for me, but I felt the beginning had no good interactions as Santana was with her friends and Josiah was doing his thing. The book started picking up and really dragged me in at Josiah’s apartment when he and Santana decided to fake the relationship. Not to say the beginning was boring, but I personally don’t like when the main characters are out of scenes for long periods of time.
Josiah was sexy and so attentive to Santana. I love that he was going crazy trying to sort out his feelings for her. Santana was lovable as well. She gave me whiplash though, with keep needing to remind Josiah their relationship is fake.

CHEMISTRY:
Damn, I think the audio hit a little different with their sex scenes because, they were dynamite together. Their chemistry to me was so amazing in the bedroom. Did they do anything special, no, but it was hot.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
I love seeing all the characters. I love Carla, Santana’s friend and love that she kept cheering her on, and you didn’t get jealously from her. I didn’t realize this was a series when I started to learn of all the other couples. However, I should know better because this author is known for her series. I will definitely try to read the following books in the series.

OVERALL, the beginning felt ok, but once it picked up and their sex scenes hit me I was hooked.

✰✰TRIGGERS:

****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.

This was a steamy book! There was a lot of back and forth between the two....From the start you could tell that there was an attraction between the two (2) of them. After their second encounter, the couple decided to be honest with each other about everything; however, this really didn't happen...which is the reason it took them so long to come to the realization and admit their feelings for one another. Overall I really enjoyed this book and it will definitely be on repeat in my library....as always the narration was outstanding.

I love the Rose men. I haven't picked a favorite yet but, Josiah is definitely in the running for the number one spot. He and Santana were a hot couple. Just oozing sexiness all over the place. I didn't even mind that she was older than him. But, Josiah and Santana worked my nerves with the constant back and forth trying to define their relationship while pretending to be a couple. I wanted to yell at them, "If y'all don't put your grown up underwear on and have an adult conversation!" Lawd, they stressed me out. In the end, they finally figured it out and got it together. I loved that there wasn't a lot of drama. The storyline was really straight to the point. My only gripe with this book is, Santana graduating from Morehouse. Morehouse is an all male university. She would've graduated from Spellman. A little research goes a long way. Other than that, Fever was a really good book. I would even say, it's become my favorite out of all of the Rose brothers. This series just keeps getting better and better. I'm already impatiently waiting on the next book to be released on Audible.

Enjoyable and funny read

Let me start off by saying this book and the previous Rose installments were great reads and I appreciate people of color having fairytale lives and loves. What I don't like is why all the women although successful are characterized as damaged and undeserving of love. All relationships don't work out but not all are disastrous either. Also as a Chicago native I would have appreciated the author doing a little research into my hometown. Why not use real streets or avenues instead of made up ones? Also Morehouse University is an all male HBCU so your female lead character would not have graduated from there.

"Fever" by Stephanie Nicole Norris

My Thoughts....

This was another wonderful series ...'Falling For A Rose Book 4' that dealt with Josiah and Santana where you will be kept on the edge of your seat turning the pages to see what was coming next.
From the last series we are able to see these two characters becoming interested in each other but how far will this go for them. I liked how this author was able to put together another well written read about the 'Rose' brothers. Will these two be able to pull off this fake boyfriend/girlfriend to there friends? What will happen in the end as these two have totally changed their mind of how it had been planned in the beginning [to make his father happy] had certainly changed and definitely not the way they truly felt about each other now. Had Josiah truly fallen in love with Santana? Had Santana truly fallen in love with Josiah? I loved the wedding in how it all comes out. So, will these two finally get their HEA? You will have to pick up "Fever" to see!

I'm sorry to say that unfortunately I read the Valentine's series before the Rose series, so going backwards to catch up with the Rose family/friends is just not as INTRIGUING for me. Perhaps the authors writing has improved with the Valentine's, whatever the situation it's taking me entirely too long to get through this series. Hopefully the more I read of the Rose series the ENTERTAINING it will get.

Sexy, romantic read!

Man, I got a fever just reading this book. A well planned scheme to please his father actually turned into a true romance for a Josiah and Santana. Their relationship was steamy and hot and they truly belonged together.

Damn was this sexy. I enjoyed the relationship between Santana and Josiah. While a bit much and quick at times, I still felt like their relationship was authentic.

Josiah and Santana were definitely a sexy and hot couple, but the story was missing that little conflict needed to propel this couple forward. I thought for sure that the daughter of that businessman Josiah's father was trying to get him to partner up with was going to try and cause problems or at least shake things up a bit. The woman herself hinted that she didn't seem to care that Josiah was in a "relationship" with Santana, yet we didn't hear anything from her since she slid her card over to Josiah and gave him the lust eye.😂

Not so sure that they ever had a fake relationship though or what usually constitutes as a "fake fiancee'/girlfriend" romance. Josiah and Santana were into each other from the jump and sexin' each other down. It would have been more interesting if they'd set boundaries or at least tried to pretend that they would only go out to keep up appearances and abstain from sex--at least as far this trope goes. They also spent a lot of time inside their own heads with doubts and what not. I did appreciate Josiah setting things straight in the end because they were still doubting each other.

Josiah and Santana story was good but not my favorite. As Only If You Dare tells us, Santana has left Houston and moved to Chicago with her best friend Desiree. As she’s getting settled in a not-so-great job, she is also rekindling her friendship with Josiah Rose. Josiah is the only Rose who is not an owner of his own business. When his father chooses to intervene in that, he gives Josiah an ultimatum.

I hate that all the women have emotional issues and insecurities. Santana was a different woman with Josiah than she was in book three. It was ridiculous for her to come up with the plan. I never understood why she would agree to something like that when she knew what she felt for Josiah.
Josiah was all over the place. One minute he wanted something real and not just for the plan and the next minute he was playing on her emotions. The last scene completely bothered me. On one hand I understood him wanting to be honest, but to do it in front of a crowd, was a no no. As sweet as the moment was supposed to be, it was embarrassing.

Overall, this was a decent read but my least favorite in the series. There was too much back and forth and Josiah wasn’t my favorite Rose brother. The author attempted to portray him as being as great as his brothers, but more often than not he was too immature for me. I’m also hoping that at least one woman in this series won’t be insecure and emotionally damaged. That seems to be the theme so far.

I have to be honest. I don't like people doing things in a fake manner just to secure a position someplace .
Unlike with the first four books in the FFAR Series, I just didn't like this book: "Fever".
First & foremost, I felt that Santana Summers was too old/more mature for super young Josiah Alexander Rose, & it showed all over the book throughout their story line.
I liked Santana but felt that there was a sense of naivete about her that Josiah seemed to prey on a bit (ex.: In the club stuntin' around his boys & her friends too to claim Santana when a then-Hunter Valentine -from the In The Heart Of A Valentine series; during the family BBQ/sports event; etc.).
When they went to visit her family in Texas, Santana started to feel a way about what they were pretending to be & the lying it entailed (because it was her idea) & Josiah was wrestling with his real feelings for her & what it would mean for their future. It all seemed very confusing to me even though I was listening to the narrators bring the characters to life.
Needless-to-say, this book wasn't one of my favorites in the series, but it was what it was for other readers I guess.

Absolutely Delicious

OH WOW this is another book in the series that is hot, sexy, and so tantalizing. But I must say it can make you smile and sad while reading this one. I have also said "oooh" on more than one occasion with the incredibly descriptive scenes of passion. While I really have enjoyed the characters and storyline and found it to be one of my favourites, and if you are like myself you will also enjoy all of the couples. The author did a fantastic job of building up the sexual tension and teasing readers with it as much as she did with the characters. The encounters have all the sensuality that you can expect from these guys. Again I must say This isn't just your typical romance, since there is a element of suspense to them all. Throughout the entire series there’s always something that’s just simmering beneath the surface, and that along with the depth of the main couples emotions makes each story such a page turner. They All Are Must Read Books!!

Tropes: fake dating / marriage of convenience

Josiah played bodyguard to Santana in Desiree's book. As Fever starts, they hookup at Claudia and Desiree's double wedding. They try to go back to being just friends, but Daddy Rose wants Josiah to settle down and marry, so he makes Josiah sign a contract that he will get married before he can take over the company.

Things I loved: Santana, no other woman trope/subplot, family and friend development
Things that didn't work so well for me: Santana and Josiah's sex scenes just didn't read as well for me as the first 3 couples in the series, and the miscommunication that usually comes with the fake dating territory. It's just not the trope for me

3 star / 3 smut

Interesting

Rated this the way I did because so far all of the Falling for a Rose are following the same story line. Yes ultimately the goal is to become husband and wife, but there were not enough “true obstacles “ for me. Hands down Josiah (book1) was the best for me. Just my opinion, it would have been nice to read about a future father in law not giving their blessing or something like that. I don’t know if I will continue this series, maybe later on but definitely not now.

Josiah Alexander Rose is the youngest of seven brothers. He is not afraid of hard work. His father offers him a company called Gemz with the provision that he must settle down with one woman.
A notorious ladies man Josiah did not like this. At his brother's wedding he met Santana Summers. He wanted to get to know her better. There was a lot of back and forth between them. Josiah asked Santana to be his pretend girlfriend. But the best laid plans can change. The more Josiah got to know Santana the better he liked her. It was a great story.

Amazing!

Stephanie, by far Josiah and Santana are my favorite couple because I felt they had the most chemistry verses the other Rose couples. I also feel they were in a situation where they had to pretend and it became a struggle because they really had true, deep feelings for each other. It was very hard for them to decide what was genuine or not genuine. Their physical attraction was awesome. It was the most sensual and sexy thing ever. Loved It! Want More!ReneeG

Read it and started over again because I feel like my brain has been so ... off - but anyway - yay YAY another Wesleigh Siobhan and Jakobi Diem audiobook! <3

So this was apparently written (or published) in 2017, but the audiobook came out in 2020.

It's good!
I was actually thinking "wow - there are less issues!" but then ... yeah. *sigh*

HIRE ME TO BE PART OF YOUR EDITING PROCESS, STEPHANIE NICOLE NORRIS!

I liked Santana and Josiah's story ... but like - I wish they'd actually COMMUNICATED more. I get part of the reason why not was because SNN wanted Josiah to do the big moment/gesture but like ... :|

it was fun ~revisiting the cast - I want to re-read/listen to Samiyah's book I think :)
There's a LOT of people to keep track of ...

it's not a D book - I liked it more than that but ... there were all the usual problems and this ... felt not quite as strong/less relationship?
At least on the first read/impression ... C- - -

But like I said I already re-started it in case I missed big stuff...

12/27/2020 =>> re-listened to it.
Yup, didn't miss anything re:relationship development.
Just ... "hey wanna be my fake girlfriend?" "So I love you. Shit's real now - only the engagement AND THE FUCKING WEDDING are both fake still yeah?"
Like... HOW DO YOU TAKE IT THAT FAR OMFG.
And to have everything up in the air.

So .... .... ...

I mean I did like it overall ... and oof the weird .... word salad.

Fake Love or Nah?

Man oh man did my heart ache for sweet and spicy Santana Summers. To be a great friend to the handsome Josiah Rose was bliss, but to agree to marry him, just so he could please his father and take over a business, was easy, or would it be? For Josiah to go along with being just Santanas' and this "deal" would be easy, or so he thought. It isnt until he starts to have deep feelings, falling in love with her, that he realizes she's more Phenomenal than he'd ever imagined.

I loved this romance and was excited to see Hunter Valentine and the Valentine family, in a way, be introduced into this series. I'm looking forward to seeing more of these 2 families stories be revealed and intertwined.

I love the Triplet sisters' of the Rose clan and hope to get a romantic story for each one.

I loved how genuine Santana was and how she stuck to her word, which was the initial agreement she came up with, to the very end. I thought her dad was going to take Josiah out for a minute there; hilarious. Another Wonderful read.

I've listened to the first 4 books in this series and followed along with the ebooks and Wesleigh Siobhan and Jakobi Diem (the narrators) have definitely taken this series to new heights, which I love. They're so great and I have to give them due credit. I always look forward to their narrations.

Can't wait to see what book 5 holds.

Book 4 of the Rose series!!! This book gives you all spice and a cat and mouse chase. The attraction is there from the 1st meeting but friends to lovers is always a great way to start. Santana is yet another female who is in close proximity to the Rose family by a friend. Josiah is the play boy of the family and lives up to his reputation. When Josiah’s dad gives him the breakdown of his inheritance but will only get it if he is married. That’s when being a great friend who is already close to the family comes in hand. Santana wanted Josiah from the start but kept her distance for good reasons. Somewhere along the line Josiah sees things for what they are and lines are blurred. 🌶️ 🌶️🌶️ the sexual tension and the build of it all is enough to read it then listen to the audiobook as well. I really enjoyed the book. This series has been everything so far. Really looking forward to the next one.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

Another good book in this series. Santana and Josiah chemistry is hot and explosive. I like that they are comfortable around one another. Fun and easy going, it didn't matter that she was older than him, although not by much, was well written. I like that Josiah also wanted to be independent and not have to rely on his family's reputation and money to make his way.

This series just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to read whats next in line.

OH MY GOD

I always love a fake relationship turn into the real thing story but book 4 in the Falling For A Rose series totally took that story line to another level. Josiah and Santanna met and unbeknownst to either of them they became best friends and fell in love on sight. From the moment they met they had a bond to each other that led to that everlasting happily ever after. This may be my favorite story in this series thus far. On to book 5, and I must say it has a strong act to follow. Kudos Stepanie you did your thing with this story.

Least Favorite

It had all the things I disliked from the other stories but somehow made them worse. From Josiah’s friend Desmond’s predatory misogyny being laughed off to Josiah promising to be faithful then almost sleeping with another woman two scenes later.
Conflict created to go absolutely nowhere. Storylines left unexplained in an abrupt ending. We don’t even see anything that would make Santana like him because apparently she fell in love off-page.
Santana deserved a better story and man tbh.

This one has been my favorite so far.

With a touch of drama, a whole lot of spice and romance.

Santana meets Josiah because her home was broken into and Julian (book 3) thought it would be good for her to have some security.

They ended up hitting it off.

When his dad tells him in order to get all his inheritance he had to be married him and Santana thought it would be a good idea to pretend except they had a hard time pretending.

Even made it to the alter before admitting there was more to it.
