Monsters and Miseries #3

Spiteful Creatures

Rate this book
Heaven and Hell are suddenly one and the same...

The Bliss as they call it isn't a perfect nirvana. It's conniving and twisted torment waiting for me to fall into the councils claws at any moment.

But I'm not sticking around to be their newest torment target. I've got my own kingdom of doom to deal with. And saving the lives of those deliciously wicked men of mine is more important than the inevitable deadly chaos in all the realms.

Spiteful Creatures is the final book of a sexy reverse harem series featuring creatures of heaven, hell, and all the dark fae realms in between. This book contains MFM and MMF themes intended for readers 18 and over.

This review is for all three books in the series
Low 3 stars

This was a bit of a whimpering fizzle for me; so much potential utterly wasted. The series started out well enough but then seemed to start spinning its wheels and repeating itself. It felt very unfocused.  Whole elements of the plot disappeared and then reappeared with no explanation; the characters were caricatures rather than characters; the editing needs another pass; the ending was a cop-out, and all the "fuckings" drove me nuts.

Let me address this last one first, before anyone mistakes me for a pearl-clutcher. I curse like a sailor. I have no problem with foul language in books. But the use of fucking in this book is overwhelming. It barrelled right the fuck into redundant territory and kept fucking going. I got so fucking tired of reading it. It just became a stutter in the narrative. But worse, every fucking character used it in exactly the same fucking way, which meant it did nothing to differentiate characters. They all sounded exactly the fucking same.

Lastly, and most importantly, there isn't enough story here to carry 500+ pages and nowhere near enough sex to be called porn-without-plot. So, I was bored. Others' experiences may vary.

This is a great action packed finale! Full of adventure and romance and some very steamy scenes, I just love Ari and all of her sass and snark. After facing another, bigger threat and the battles that follow will she claim her rightful place and will her men be by her side? A great ending to a great series!

Completely disappointed. Three books, barely any world building. There are four worlds. Ours, where the Fae live, where the Angels live, and finally where the Demons live. Why are they seperated? We don't know. Why can't humans go anywhere, the Fae only come to humans, Demons go to humans, Fae can summon Demons, and the Angels go everywhere? We don't know. What does an Angel have to do to become a Demon? We don't know. Why can some Angels be evil and commit atrocities but not become Demons? We don't know. Why are Angels truly immortal? We don't know. Is it normal for a Fae to have so many mates? Or a Demon? Or a Angel? Are the guys also each other's mates as well as hers? How can you die, go to "heaven", but still be possessed?

We totally missed out on a big battle for the crown, and we didn't even get to see the fight that solved our heroines problem. Then she had a fight but it was lackluster and solved again by other "people". Honestly aside from being told by her mates that she's so amazing, I don't get was amazing about her or what would make her a good Queen. She's not the smartest, she's young by human standards and incredibly young by her species standards with little life experience, and her magic nearly as strong as any other realm rulers or some of the being in her Kingdom. But she's not racist so I guess that's enough.

I would probably listen to another book by this author but I'll know from now on not to expect much. I will however most likely be avoiding the narrator. No shade but she read like she attended the William Shatner School of Acting. It was too much at times.

It was ok.

After books 1 and 2 being high energy, entertaining, mysterious and full of action, I'm sad to say this was a bit of a let down. I enjoyed the story while I was going 100 miles per hour but then the emergency break was thrown and all of a sudden it's over and very anticlimactic ending it was. It felt like a big build up for nothing. Where was the major battle? Where was the feud? Where was the explanation and outcome? I don't know. It left me lacking unfortunately. I'd generally recommend this author to anyone, I can't say I'd recommend this series though.

This was such a perfect ending for Ari and her men. I loved seeing Ari fight evil and finally realize her true power. Her men were there through every step, my only criticism is that there was so much action that we missed out on a little bit of the romance. Don’t let this stop you as there are still plenty of steamy scenes, I just would have liked a bit more development. I really hope Koonce chooses to do a spin-off to this series because I’m obsessed and would definitely read more!

I was given an ARC, so I am writing an honest voluntary review.

This book is an amazing ending to an absolutely amazing series. Throughout the whole series my favorite male character has been Krave and in this book Ari finally gets to find out exactly what he is. I love how he is with Ari and the other guys but I also love the way he approaches a situation. In this book, her relationship with Zav strengthens alot as well as her powers. There's twists and turns that keep you at the edge of your seat in suspense as well as a few scenes that are panty melting hot. I definitely recommend this book and this series.

it felt so short

It started and then it was done.

And it didn't feel rushed... part of me was expecting the end to be a cliffhanger and it telling us wait there's more.

I do wish there was more time between Aries and Xavier. their time together does help us understand so much about the Bliss.

I was surprised with Corva.... I expected that to be much more of a push back. But seeing how Catherine melded into Aries was lovely. She found her resting place out of this crazy adventure.

I didn't want this to end

I love Ari, Krave, Ryke, Damien and Zav and did not want to say goodbye. They all face an even bigger threat in this book, one that not even Corva sees coming but in usual Ari fashion she does not back down. Instead she meets the threat head on and after some painful battles defeats her enemies to claim her rightful place with her men by her side. It was a good ending and a beautiful love story between them.

I have to say that I am a bit disappointed with this one. After waiting an entire year for this book it was very short and boring until close to the end. It also deserved a longer more detailed epilogue. It just seemed like it was rushed to end the series but after waiting this long I wouldn't have minded a even longer wait to be satisfied with what I read. I've never given this author below five stars so I'm not really sure what happened here.

Fantastic series

Loved this series! The main character finds her way and her strength! I love this authors writing, she takes a woman unaware of her own strength and she finds it, makes me feel as if my own strength is just there and all I have to do is read her for it!! It’s also full of sexy men and sexy scenes, can’t go wrong there!! I read all of them in a week! Truly can’t go wrong with these!!

Fab conclusion to the series

This story starts off with Aries and her Angel in Heaven. But it sounds like Hell as they are both out to work straight away, cleaning. Aries wails that she has never cleaned a thing in her life as she is a princess. Krave, her demon mate is able to visit her and relays what is happening under her sister's control and it's not good. How is she going to get back?

I literally could not put this down! A.K. Koonce does not disappoint! The hot factor is 🥵🔥🥵🔥. With Aries and Zav in Bliss, everyone else is dealing with Corva's reign. But a disgraced, possessed Fae princess will fight for the ones she loves. The ending though! Welcome to the Torch.😂♥️ Sad this series is done but hopefully we will get a spin-off from this crazy world.

A.K. Koonce does it again

Another awesome series! I loved Aries so much. She’s kick ass, funny, selfless, and has enough love for all four of her sexy mates. Krave and Zaviar are definitely my favorites. They really redeem themselves throughout the series and you get to see why they acted the way that they did in the past. I will definitely recommend this series to friends. 🥰

Who knew angels could be so bad?? I love AK Koonce! She can weave an exciting story and I love this book! Aries is driven to protect her men as much as they are there for her. There is so much wit and page-turning action in each chapter. The love scenes are 🔥 ♨️ 🔥 and I wasn't ready for the book to end.

Good but too short

I waited so long for this book!! I couldn't wait to read it. I liked it...but it just seemed rushed. It was way too short. I also thought there could of been more conflict between Aries and Corva. I just wish there was more! But overall I loved this series!! I highly recommend!!

‘I missed the power he had to crumble away all my worries and just wrap me up in the warm scent of his fiery magic.’

I always breeze through A.K. Koonce’s books! The endings tend to feel a little rushed but I enjoy them anyway.

Krave is my favourite character in this series and I’m really glad the ending was from his POV! Loved it.

4.5/5

The only reason I gave it a 4.5/5 was because I wished there was more! I need more from these characters, but I understand the story must come to an end. I love A.K.’s characters and can’t wait to read more from her. I’ve loved her work ever since I read Origins of the Six and haven’t been disappointed since. One of my favorite authors!

Too short

I feel like the ending was rushed. I waited so long for the third book and it took me like 3 hours to read it. I love the series but I felt like there could’ve been more. We barely get any POV time with Aries’ mates. I’m disappointed.

No words

I honestly cannot think of a word good enough for this series. I devoured all three books in just a few hours. They were 100% spell binding. I wont give anything away by talking about the characters other than to say that I love them all!

Amazing but needed more.

Although I loved reading about how everything got wrapped up in the final book it felt rushed and definitely could have had more depth to the story line. Still an amazing series I could read again all over.

I'm just Kraving this book.

Okay. I'll admit to a love hate relationship with some of the Characters but it seems like this awesome book just sealed up all the crevices for the characters and made for a wholly wonderful ending!!

ending fell flat.

Up until the epilogue, the story was great.
The final chapter tho fell flat which isn’t the authors usual style.
It’s like they got bored or didn’t know what to write.
That kinda ruined the energy of the story.

Creatures indeed

I was shocked and pleased with how this series ended. I really like how Aries character developed into something more than she ever imagined. And her mates, her #1 fans

This is a good book. Nice end ing to the series. It was a little disappointing though, the conclusion. I almost wanted more fight and conflict. Overall, a good series.

Thoroughly disappointed. I devoured the other ones. This one was both rushed and boring. Without emotion. Badly edited. So many freaking typos. It's like she didn't even try. So disappointed.
