Kinship Cove Diner #8

Peppermint Prancer

Rate this book
No one ever said working with Santa was all reindeer games, and North Pole isn't the sort of place to find your mate…until it is. It’s the holidays for our Kinship Cove friends, which means treats, hot cocoa, and kisses.

* * *

Being an elf in North Pole, Alaska, means one thing to me: baking to support my fellow elves who are responsible for making toys. When a fellow kitchen elf takes a tumble days before the big gift run, I’m assigned to the reindeer shifter side of town. Carb-loading is my specialty, after all. No way would I let the reindeer team fail after a solid year of work by elves and reindeer alike. I know my role—get in, bake, get out—but while delivering delightful pastries to the hungry sleigh-pullers, I run into a problem. One by the name of Prancer.

Yes, he’s a reindeer shifter. Yes, he’s an OG on the sleigh team. And yes, he’s just as obsessed with me as I am with him. But each species has its rules, and everyone in North Pole knows we have to work together to pull off the Christmas run. Which means keeping the secret of our fated connection from everyone—elves, reindeer, Santa…

Even Prancer himself.

Christmas is coming whether we’re ready or not…and it’s going to be a battle to keep my ho ho ho on the down low low low.

A storyteller from the time she could talk, USA Today bestselling author Ellis Leigh grew up among family legends of hauntings, psychics, and love spanning decades. Those stories didn’t always have the happiest of endings, so they inspired her to write about real life, real love, and the difficulties therein. From farmers to werewolves, store clerks to witches—if there’s love to be found, she’ll write about it. Ellis lives in the Chicago area with her husband, daughters, and a German Shepherd that refuses to leave her side.

Pure fluff and pure cuteness. I love these stories when I can get them.
Lolly (fitting name) a baking elf, and Prancer (yup, Santa’s reindeer) meet and find out they’re fated mates.
Talk. About. Cute. And. Sexy!
Omg, I will never look at a reindeer the same way again 😂

Lolly is one heck of a baker, she's also an elf. And everybody knows elves and reindeer don't mix. They might mingle, but they don't mate. No matter how much she falls for Prancer and vice versa.

Awwwwww. This little story was too adorable for words. Sweet, cute, sexy, romantic and so utterly jolly. I fell in love with Lolly, the baker elf and I fell for Prancer, one of the two original Santa's sleigh-pullers.
They were so cute and adorable together I wouldn't have minded a longer story.

There was no conflict, really, simply a need for a slight readjustment in thinking and behavior, Santa was a hoot, I loved the "cuss" words and the whole North Pole, Alaska made me want to visit (even though I know it's an imaginary place).

This is definitely my favorite story in the series (so far). I had a smile on my face as I read it and you just can't beat that.

Read in SHIFTERS UNDER THE MISTLETOE.
How wonderful to get another book by this author.
Though part of the Mates and Macaroons series, it had a strong similarity that tied in very well to another series about reindeer shifters at the North Pole.
Loved the Christmas vibe and the characters, though Cupid was a big humbug.

This story is just what I needed to take a brain break from school. It was fun and original. Also Ellis just knows how to write about the perfect mates. The chemistry is always amazing and this story was no different. This book made me want to drink hot chocolate, eat a cinnamon bun, and curl up by a fireplace someplace that snows (not a fan of snow, but for this book I am) and read this book again and again.
Highly recommend, especially if you need a brain break.

I love it! Lolly, an elf, is asked to move her baking skills over to the reindeer hall. One of the bakers is out of commission & Christmas will be coming soon. The reindeer shifters need to have their strength & energy up for the long haul when they pull Santa's sleigh. When she is handing out her breakfast treats, she is very surprised when one of the reindeer takes a close interest in her. Reindeer it is said only mate with their own kind. Prancer is one of the few originals left in the team. He asks her to go out with him & she accepts. He gets to hear a lot of things said in the hall about it. He tells them that if they say another thing against her he will be removing antlers. That makes the other deer kind quiet down for a while. The queen calls Lolly to her to tell her to not let anyone drive her from her mate. Reindeer can mate with anyone they want same as anyone else. Lolly thanks her & goes back to work. She doesn't know how to bring it up to him about being a mate yet. It is going almost the same on Prancer's side. He knows she is his mate but hasn't told her yet. Again, one of the reindeer are make cracks about his choice of "fun". Lolly doesn't let Prancer get into a fight, but when dessert comes around he doesn't get the delicious dessert the others got, he gets 3 graham crackers. Later When one of the shifter's mates sees Lolly she asks if she would like to go shopping. They get to know each other. The loading of the sleigh is coming up, the mates are supposed to be up on the ramp with their mates when they take off. The mate & Lolly are seen by an elf who lets them come up to give them the send off. They watch them take off then go home to wait for the sleigh to return. They are back when they come in. The mates are to take off the harness & ride the reindeer home. When they get home they both say mate to let the other know. A little while later it is known there is a little one on the way. I love it.

What do you get when a elf serves shot cross buns to a reindeer?

"The man was the epitome of sexy. AND HE WAS MINE. Please, no begging. Not for this. You can beg me not to stop later. Will I need to beg you to stop later? He chuckled. No baby. I'll make sure you're good and taken care of. " HOT DAMN!!! BOW-CHICK-A-WOW-WOW. Slap my azz and call me Charlie in the morning. I am surely going to read this scene to my husband and let it go from there. Do I have your interest yet? I sure got excited all over again. This is a fast pace story that kept my interest the entire time. Prancer's saw this little elf walk in and immediately chemistry heated up between them. It reminded me of my indoor\outdoor round vent less bios ethanol tabletop fireplace. Let me tell you it was steamy and romantic just like my fireplace . In this story you have some steamy scenes, you have jealously and a whole lot of brotherhood. Reindeer Unite! You learn things that have you go huh? Wait what! I really love Ellis and her works but she had me dying for some rolls and some hot chocolate reading this one but I also wanted to roll around in some chocolate pudding or paint my man with some candy paints. Okay! Okay! Get the book. I know you won't regret it. I sure don't. Lolly go get your man!

Prancer Is My New Holiday Hotness

I love being able to read a holiday book in the off season. It gives me just the holiday boost I need. Peppermint Prancer did just that and more.

Ellis Leigh is known for her shifter romances, but this one takes the candy cane! Prancer is one of the OG reindeers for Santa, but is still solo after all these years, waiting on his special someone. Let me tell you, Leigh has me smitten with Prancer the moment she introduces him. He is all salt/pepper/Prancer-daddy deliciousness.

Enter in our lovely Lolly, elf, baker and sassy minx. She is the perfect partner to our brooding reindeer. Ready to climb to the challenge and mount that… I mean, overcome a mixed romance. Another favorite leading lady of mine from Leigh that is strong and knows what she wants, and boy does she get it.

A+++ for this story. Definitely worth a reread throughout the year!
