Fate, and pizza, brought them together but will they realize how much more they could have, or will pride keep them apart?
Parker Garrison should have seen the trade coming, but he was the last to know he was moving to Salt Lake four months into the season. Rather than letting the surprise ruin his season, he decides to throw himself into becoming an integral part of the team––on and off the ice––and he knows just the person to help him.
Vivian Ashwood was looking for a change but never expected her new roommate would introduce her to a world she’d only seen in gossip magazines. Her quiet, predictable life is turned upside down the moment half of the Utah Fury makes themselves at home in her living room. When one of them makes her an offer that makes her heart skip a beat, she knows things are going to get interesting.
Brittney has been an avid reader since she can remember. Her parents' form of punishment for her growing up was taking away her books and making her go outside to play. She was born and raised in Southern California, with a brief hiatus in Arizona. She loves the beach, exercising, sleeping in, and cookies. She is an obsessive dog lover, although her affection currently has no outlet. Something that she is planning on remedying soon. She and her husband currently reside in the Rocky Mountains exploring and hiking as much as possible.
Vivian has become a part of the, Utah Fury Pride by proxy. You see she needed a roommate, and she picked, Jessica, to be the one. Jessica works for, Dani who is dating, Jake one of, the Fury players. Jess is now dating, Lance Kirkpatric who comes along with his fellow player, Micky Dankowski. Being around guys in general doesn't make her nervous, growing up with three older brothers, has taught her to be tough, and take no, poo. The guys ask if they can host a fully catered dinner, at her and Jess’s home because, each of their homes is too, small. She agrees.
However, we are talking high profile, professional athletes, all in magnificent physical condition. Ones that can, and, will date a tall, lean, and beautiful woman with confidence. Although at her job, and, anywhere other than within the presence, of a sexy man, she is confident and outgoing. Vivi gets an SOS call from, Jess said, the decorating staff failed, and she is calling in favors. Vivi agrees. She arrives within an hour and soon after several Fury players do, too.
The two players that are new, to her are Mitch Doranon (Dory), a nickname, he reminds her of, a Highlander. And, Parker Garrison is a few inches shorter than, Mitch, but also has wide shoulders. Vivi is taken by, Parker, but, ends up making an instant connection to, Mitch. Parker does notice, Vivi, too. However, he has never, dated and has no way of, knowing how to, approach her. He is new that very week, and being that, Mitch has been there a little longer, he doesn't want, to step on his toes.
At the party, at her home, things were going great. Vivi greeted them at the door and, takes their coats. Mitch took his coat off, quickly. Parker is a little slower so, he followed along. They entered Jess’s room, and he says, it can’t be her room. She says, it's not. When she volunteers, to show her room, he’s amazed. But it is more her, and, he is happy for sure. Standing in line for each he notices a change in her persona. When he asks she says she is okay.
Parker can’t stop thinking, about her. So, he decides, to ask her, to be his friend. At first, she turns him down. Stemming from bad experiences in high school and college. With so-called friends wanting, to be around her for reasons other than friendship or dating. Maybe even, to haze the fat girl. But when he is, sincere and begs for a chance. She can only say okay, to a two-week trial.
See if this little experience is what they are both looking for. Or just a way to protect themselves from heartache.
Parker and Vivi are two of the absolute most awkward people on the face of the Earth! Lol! I loved how insecure Parker is and unsure of himself even after being a professional hockey player for years! It's nice to read about someone you expect to be confident being totally unsure of themselves and new situations. Vivi totally compliments him and it was so fun to watch them stumble into a relationship!
So many interesting twists and turns in Vivian, Parker and Mitch's story. Every book in this series deals with an interesting topic. Introverted Parker in a sea of extroverts is quite the experience. I always enjoy POV chapters, but it was especially so when needing to see inside an introvert's thoughts. Mitch plays an interesting part in all of this. Cute story with a happy ending.
Book 13/14 of the Utah Fury Hockey Series- Parker & Vivian
Friends to lovers
Parker gets traded to the Utah Fury in the middle of the season, while helping some of the Pride girls set up for a event he meets Vivian and instantly feels connected to her and wants to know more about her.
This is a sweet and enjoyable love story with endearing characters that will definitely steal your heart and touch your heart as they journey towards happily ever after.
I was expecting two guys fighting over a girl and I’m so glad that wasn’t the case. Corny complication, but hey, that’s romance novels. I’m sad there’s only one left!
I could so understand Vivi being suspicious of him because so many men and women are like that. I was happy they worked through the issues and found happiness.
