ಮಲೆನಾಡ ಮನೆ ಹುಡುಗ ಕೌಶಿಕ್ ಕೊಡುರಸ್ತೆಯ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಪತ್ತೆದಾರಿ ಕಾದಂಬರಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ. 'ಆತ್ಮೀಯ' ಎಂಬ ಸತ್ಯಘಟನೆಯಾಧಾರಿತ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಲೋಕದ ಕದ ತಟ್ಟಿದ ಕೌಶಿಕ್, 'ಕಾಲಾಯ ತಸ್ಮೈ ನಮಃ' ಮೂಲಕ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಭರ್ಜರಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಾಲೂರಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಬೆರಗು ಕಣ್ಗಳ ಈ ಯುವಕನ ಪತ್ತೆದಾರಿ ನಿರೂಪಣಾ ಶೈಲಿಯೇ ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಮತ್ತು ಆಹ್ಲಾದಕರ. ಕನ್ನಡಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ತೇದಾರಿ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಗಳೇ ವಿರಳವಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೌಶಿಕ್ ಕೊಡುರಸ್ತೆ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಪತ್ತೆದಾರಿ ಕಾದಂಬರಿ ಪ್ರಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ಭರವಸೆಯೆಂದರೆ ತಪ್ಪಾಗಲಾರದು, ಓದುಗನಾಗಿ ಇವರ ಮಾದಲೆರೆಡು ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಒಂದೇ ಗುಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಓದಿಮುಗಿಸಿರುವ ಅನುಭವದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಖಂಡಿತ ಈ ಕಾದಂಬರಿ ಕೂಡ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಒಂದೇ ಗುಕ್ಕಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಓದಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಯ್ಯೋ! ಇಷ್ಟು ಬೇಗ ಮುಗಿಯಬಾರದಿತ್ತು, ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟಿರಬೇಕಿತ್ತು ಎನಿಸುವುದು ಖಂಡಿತ. ಅದೆಲ್ಲದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಯುವ ಓದುಗರು ಬೇರೆ ಭಾಷೆಗಳ ಕಡೆ ವಲಸೆಹೊರಟಿರುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಮರಳಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾರಸತ್ವ ಲೋಕದೆಡೆಗೆ ಸೆಳೆಯುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕೌಶಿಕ ರಂತಹ ಯುವ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಯಿದೆ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಲೋಕ ಕೌಶಿಕ್ ರವರನ್ನು ಅಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ, ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ಇವರ ಬರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೆರೆಸಲಿ ಎಂಬುದು ನನ್ನಾಶಯ, ಕನ್ನಡದ ಯುವ ಲೇಖಕರನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ನಿಮಗೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ವಂದಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಕೌಶಿಕಕೂಡುರಸ್ತೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಮನದಾಳದ ಶುಭಾಕಾಂಕ್ಷೆಗಳು.

ವೃತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಸಹಾಯಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾಗಿರುವ ಕೌಶಿಕ್ ಕೂಡುರಸ್ತೆ ಅವರು ಮೂಲತಃ ಹಾಸನ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಸಕಲೇಶಪುರ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನ ಕೂಡುರಸ್ತೆ ಗ್ರಾಮದವರು. ತಂದೆ-ಹೆಚ್.ಎಸ್. ತಮ್ಮೇಗೌಡ, ತಾಯಿ ಭಾಗ್ಯ ಆಚಾರ್ಯ ಇನ್ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಏರೋನಾಟಿಕಲ್ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಪದವಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿರುವ ಅವರು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ‘ಹೃದಯದ ಮಾತು’ ಇವರ ಮೊದಲ ಪ್ರಕಟಿತ ಕವನ ಸಂಕಲನ.

‘ಇಂತಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಆತ್ಮೀಯ’ ಎಂಬ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯು ಇವರ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಟಿತ ಕೃತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ಎರಡನೇ ಮುದ್ರಣವನ್ನು ಕಂಡಿದೆ. ಈ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯು ‘ಬಹ್ರೇನ್ ಕನ್ನಡ ಡಿಂಡಿಮ’ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಗ್ರಿಫಿನ್ಸ್ ಗುರುಕುಲ ಎಂಬ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಬಿಸಿನೆಸ್ ಕುರಿತಾದ ‘ಬಿಸಿನೆಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ನಾನು’ ಹಾಗೂ ‘ಬಿಸಿನೆಸ್ ಚಾಣಕ್ಯ’ ಎಂಬ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರೂಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರು ‘ದಾನವ’ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವಾರು ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಾಯಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು, ‘ಆಟೋಶಂಕ್ರಿ’ ಎಂಬ ಕಿರುಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ತಾನು ಬರೆದ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಿನಿಮಾರೂಪಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕನಾಗೇಕೆಂಬುದು ಇವರ ಗುರಿ. ಇವರ ಪತ್ತೇದಾರಿಯ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಗಳಾದ ‘ಕಾಲಯ ತಸ್ಮೈ ನಮಃ’, ಮತ್ತು ‘ಸ್ವಪ್ನದ ಬೆನ್ನೇರಿ’ಯನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹ ಬುಕ್ ಹೌಸ್ ನವರು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಪತ್ತೇದಾರಿಯ ಕಾದಂಬರಿ ‘ತ್ಯಾಗರಾಜ್ ಕಾಲೋನಿ’ ಪ್ರಕಟಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.

ಕಥೆ ಒಂದು ಸ್ವಪ್ನ ಕಂಡಷ್ಟೇ ಬೇಗ ಓದಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತೆ. ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯ ಮೊದಲ ಕೆಲವು ಪುಟಕ್ಕೂ ಕೊನೆಯ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಪುಟಕ್ಕೂ ಇರುವ ಗುಟ್ಟು ಕೊನೆಯವರೆಗೂ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕೌಶಿಕ್ ಕೂಡುರಸ್ತೆ ಯವರು ಗೆದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ .

ಕನಸು ನನಸಾಗುವದು ನಿಜವಾ? ಕನಸು ಕೇವಲ ಒಂದು ಕಲ್ಪನೆ ಅಂದರೆ ಸತ್ಯನ ಜೊತೆ ಅವು ನನಸಾಗಿದ್ದು ಹೇಗೆ? ಪತ್ತೇದಾರಿ ಕಾದಂಬರಿ ಓದಿನ ಅನುಭವ ಹೊಂದಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ರೋಚಕ ಅನ್ನಿಸುವುದು ಸಂಶಯ ಆದರೂ ಓದಬಹುದು

ಸ್ವಪ್ನದ ಬೆನ್ನೇರಿ – ಕೌಶಿಕ್ ಕೂಡುರಸ್ಥೆ
I finished this book in a span of just 3 hours.
The story feels a bit weak in terms of depth — by the time the core motive of the story is revealed, it almost feels like we are already at the end.


That said, it’s a different kind of thriller, and despite its flaws, the author manages to keep it engaging throughout. The subject itself is interesting, and the narration holds your attention.


Overall, a quick read with an interesting idea, but it could have benefited from a stronger and more developed storyline.

ಕನಸು ನಿಜವಾಗುತ್ತದಾ? ನಿಜ ಮಾಡುವುದಾ ಎನ್ನುವುದರ ನಡುವೆ ಬೆನ್ನು ಬಿದ್ದು ಹೆಣೆದ ಕಾದಂಬರಿ. ಇವರ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಅಷ್ಟೇನೂ ಅದ್ಭುತ ಅನಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು.

Swapnada Benneri is Kowshik’s early attempt at the whodunnit genre, and unfortunately, it doesn’t quite land. The story revolves around Satya, who believes that whatever he dreams on a new moon will come true, and his friend Rudra, who along with a few close companions decides to turn such dreams into reality purely for amusement.
Though the plot flirts with elements like murder, suicide, and references to lesbian relationships, it lacks the tension and thrill such themes usually promise. The narrative felt flat and failed to hold my attention even for a moment. While there is a predictable twist, the writing itself offers little grip or engagement.

That said, it’s clear that Kowshik has grown significantly as a writer since then and has gone on to master the genre. This early work, however, especially this one is dull and boring.

This is more of a movie style writing. The story is good but it's gets obvious on who the killer is as it moves on. The first half of the book feels a bit unnecessary and dragged. Overall an average book.
