Max must figure out how to prevent climate change from destroying the earth.
But sinister forces want to keep Max from succeeding, and she soon finds herself up against a new evil group that would rather let the whole world crumble than allow Max Einstein save the planet. Fourth book in the series. Max and her team face a new enemy in this latest volume. After defeating the Corp, they should have been able to focus on world saving issues. Instead, the book opens with them being attacked as they track glacier melt with no idea who this new enemy is. Readers also see a change in philosophy as Ben brings in a Social Media influencer and an Arts whiz. Now, rather than staying out of the spotlight, Ben is pushing Max to be the brand spokesperson. She is not thrilled and it goes as series readers would expect. By the end, they have located the new angry coalition - with help from a hidden source and a former trainer wanting some redemption, and moved the world forward on climate change issues. This one moved a bit slower than the other three and got bogged down at times in the social media push.
When I was a bit younger, I really enjoyed this series, but I have now outgrown it. It's hard to get to know the characters other than Max, because there are so many CMI kids, and they don't get developed very much. *THE NEXT PART OF THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE OTHER BOOKS IN THE SERIES (Especially #3).* I didn't love the time travel aspect in the book, but if I was into the time travel thing, I would have liked the ending better. I feel the time travel thing was thrown in as a "last resort" theme, almost as if the authors didn't know where to go in the series and they wrote, "They all ran away", only this time, "She time traveled from 1921". (One spoiler from this book, now.) I was also bummed that Ben had to close the CMI. *SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW ARE OVER, THE REST IS SPOILER-FREE.* I wish the authors had done more with Dr. Ivanovich, kept him in some books following this one, which maybe they will. The whole book was rather climate change doom and gloom, which after a while can get you feeling a bit hopeless. Stopping climate change is definitely something we need to do, and there is still hope. The book does have a good message about stopping global warming, but I would've done a bit less doom and gloom with it, though. I wish there had been a bit more action, and a bit more good guys stopping the bad guys sort of thing, like there was in the other books. One thing about the series is that you barely find out anything about the villains or Max's past in the first two books, and in the third book it's all thrown at you. Similar in this book, as far as not finding out a ton goes. Definitely the first two books in the series where my favorites, and these books are great for younger ages. The authors are awesome and have some really good books, I just wish they had done a bit different of a plot for this book. Great messages in this book and the other books in the series about helping people across the globe and the importance of stopping global warming.
This is the fourth in the series for middle schoolers about Max Einstein, a young girl with a genius IQ who is an orphan and homeless. She is part of a world-wide group of students who help solve world problems, underwritten by another wealthy student. The problem in this book is global warming. The group tries a major, highly-publicized event that is less than successful, before testing smaller ideas that could be more successful. Max still sees Albert Einstein in her mind, and even in her bedroom, and yearns to travel back in time to see her parents. This is a fascinating series that focuses on scientific solutions to world problems, as well as relationships and personal interactions between students. Instead of helpful guidelines at the end of the book, scientific illustrations and explanations are sprinkled throughout this book at the appropriate points in the plot. Excellent for young readers!
Max finally meets her hero, Albert Einstein, as she dashes across glaciers, visits the Great Barrier Reef, and flies a solar-powered jet in a race to stop global warming - before it's too late for planet earth.

This is the fourth book in a fantastic children’s series I’m addicted too! Max and the gang are out to help the world again but this time we have two new members. Anna, a PR/social media person and Alexia, a humanist. It seems Max’s juju is off and everything goes wrong. Ben loses all his money…can the gang be saved? Can the world? I hate the ending. (That’s why 4 stars).
Max is on a mission to save the world from climate change. This book was a great dissertation on how kids can help change the world. The different scenarios she dreamed up for climate change mitigation were fun to read about. I also liked that they incorporated some real sites in New York City that I didn't know existed. The connection to Albert Einstein was a bit confusing....
I love these books because they are perfect for kids and adults alike. There's always going to be a stumbling block somewhere, in this case, bad guys, but all it takes is one person wherever you are reaching to another person to make a difference. Be that difference
I loved the book, but the end wasn't the best, wish it had a better ending with either tying the loose ends up with the CMI, if there is not going to be a book #5 or giving a better cliffhanger for book #5

As always some great positives. Love that it raises some important issues kids need to know about. I did however find it to go off a bit and felt more like we just had to wrap things up. Not my favourite from the series!
Not my favorite of the series. Felt kind of forced and I deal with enough Russia in the real news, but at least it’s accurate? Anyway - another solid installment.
I read this book as a child, and found it BORING. I was (and still am) an avid reader, but this book wasn't it. To be honest, none of the Max Einstein books were. By the way, I'm pretty sure this book promotes squatting. :(
