Lee Wilkinson was born in Nottingham, the only child of loving parents. She was educated at an all-girls' school, and after leaving, tried her hand at several jobs, including modeling swimwear.

At 22 she met and married her husband, Denis. They had a traditional white wedding and a honeymoon in Italy, and have been happily married ever since. They have two children, a son and a daughter—both now grown up and married—and four lovely grandchildren.

Lee's writing career began with short stories and serials for magazines and newspapers before going on to novels. She has had more than 20 Mills and Boon romance novels published to date.

Amongst her hobbies are reading, gardening, walking, and cooking. Traveling is her main love, and teaming up with her daughter and American son-in-law, she and her husband spent a year going round the world, taking in India, China, Australia, New Zealand, and the States.

Last year she rented a palazzo in the heart of Venice, followed by a quick hop aboard the Orient Express. Lee is currently saving up for a whirlwind tour of Japan, a romantic and exotic destination she has wanted to visit since childhood.

At present she lives with her husband in a 300-year-old stone cottage in a picturesque Derbyshire village, which gets cut off by snow most winters

Reread and finished. Ok but h was incredibly immature and foolish, listened to OW and let pride keep her from even telling H much less asking him. I’ve no sympathy for someone who lets pride drive away joy.

Original: Couldn't finish, rather dirty and obvious plot.

The h is a widowed physiotherapist. Her husband of 6 months has been killed in an explosion. Her mother was injured in the same explosion and is in a coma. We don’t get to know how long she’s been widowed though.
The book starts when the H comes in for a checkup after an accident at the race track ( we don't get to know why he was there either). There is an immediate attraction and he asks her out. She is reluctant, but he is forceful and finely she agrees. The chemistry won’t be denied and they end up having sex that same night. She realizes she’s in love with him the next morning, really in love for the very first time. She met her husband when she was at the university. He was her teacher and 18 years older.
From the very beginning of the book we get the impression that she never really felt that much for her husband. The h/H start a really sweet relationship, but she feels guilt about her mother and doesn't tell the H why she keeps disappearing at the weekends (she visits her mother at the nursing home. He has patience with her about her secret.
The something happens. A women confronts the h and says she’s the H’s fiancée and that she’s been having treatment for a blood disease and that she’s lost the H’s baby! Needless to say the h is devastated. She never asks the H about the fiancée. Her male friend convinces her to pretend to be involved with him, to show the H that she just used him while she waited for her friend to come back.
They stage a bedroom scene for the H who threatens revenge and leaves.
The h leaves for America and finds a job there. After more than a year in the states she goes back to England to work as a private physiotherapist. The house she ends up in belongs to the H. Its his godmothers husband who’s in need of a therapist. They, however, aren't there, but the H is. He has planed it so that she can’t leave. After some events, it turns out he knows about the events that led to her leaving and her fake relationship with her friend. The OW was lying because, as always in Hplandia, she wanted the H for herself. The h explains about her mother and her guilt over their death and not loving her husband.

This was an ok read. But it was annoying that the h just gave in to the H as soon as he touched her. I would have liked to know the age of the h and how long ago her husband died. I mean was it a month ago, or 10 years? All we know is that she was married for 6 months. If I had known that the h was widowed I probably wouldn't have read this book. I usually want the H to be the h’s one and only love. If it was a MOC then I don’t mind (hey, we all have our preferences, don’t judge!)
