Publisher's Summary

Take a trip to the beloved supernatural town of Mystic Bayou in this brilliantly funny new stand-alone novella - written for audio-first!

Charlotte McBee knows she’s in for a challenge when she accepts a job as midwife for a dragon and a phoenix shifter. Being a fairy herself, it isn’t the supernatural world that scares her. It’s the thought of delivering a giant metal dragon’s egg, which has her gritting her teeth in pain for poor Jillian, the anxious mother-to-be.

While preparing for the big event, a handsome town resident catches her eye. Leonard is kind, charming, and a little bit mysterious. He’s also suffering from a highly unusual condition brought on by an ancient fairy curse, and he’s too wary of Charlotte to allow her to get close.

Will love overcome fear before the end of her assignment?

Fairy curses, dragon eggs and pie!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💙💚🖤💜❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📙
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎🌍
Character development: 😚😌😉😎🥰

The heroine: Charlotte - A fae midwife who works for the International League for Interspecies Cooperation. She came to Mystic Bayou to help Jillian give birth to a big metal egg (phoenix-dragon hybrid).

The Hero: Leonard - a human who also works for the League. His family line has been fairy cursed with clumsiness for hundreds of years, the clumsiness gets worse the more anxious they are. He used to work in a lab, but that career ended due to the curse. He now works as an executive assistant to the director of the Mystic Bayou office of the League.

The Story: Charlotte comes to Mystic Bayou and is immediately attracted to Leonard despite his curse. Leonard is a bit wary of Charlotte at first especially considering she is a fairy and jokes about cursing someone.

This series gets better and more imaginative as it goes on. The whole thing about Jillian being pregnant with a Dragon Egg is awesome. She even has to sit on a nest after delivering the egg. She bursts into blue flames with every contraction. The rest of the town are no less interesting and the townsfolk’s love of pie grows with each book as well.

The narration was great, as in all the prior books. The book was told in dual points of view in dual narration by Amanda Ronconi and Jonathon Davis. I am liking these narrators more and more as the series progresses. This one was a novella (just over 3 hours long). But it had a great story and was wonderful.

One Fine Fae By: Molly Harper Narrated by: Jonathan Davis, Amanda Ronconi I like the Mystic Bayou books, it's a home for supernatural creatures that don't want to be found out and like the company of other of their kind. Our gal of the story will be the midwife while the Doctor has her baby, a dragon baby. It's a fun town and characters that are fun, annoying, but well developed. There is humor and romance to go with a baby coming, baby dragon that is! I would love to live there!

Quick, but I loved it...

The Mystic Bayou series is so cute and I absolutely love each and every instalment. One Fine Fae takes us back to check in with the gang, as well as meet a few new people.

The love story was sweet and left me satisfied even without getting any 'action'. I really liked that Charlotte would be happy with Leonard curse and all, but loved that she wanted better for him as well. Leonard's curse, while frustrating for him, was actually pretty cute. But, then again, I'm not the poor unfortunate to wear a bowl of punch in my lap. 😉

The narrators do an amazing job AGAIN, but Jonathan Davis' Zed, is still my favourite. That gruff and swoony accent mixed with Molly Harper's, witty characterisation, is just AWESOME!

Fingers crossed there will be more Mystic Bayou in the future.

I love Mystic Bayou and the characters there. Harper has created a town and world I would visit again and again. While each audiobook has its own romance, the overall story ARCs and character development have me recommending you listen to them in the order of their release.

Charlotte McBee arrives in Mystic Bayou to help a certain phoenix shifter deliver a metal dragon egg. Oh, boy! Charlotte is used to being mobile, but with the rift and a population growth, they need her skills in Mystic Bayou.

Charlotte is fae, and she can’t help but notice Leonard. He is handsome and kind, but she is wary when she notices he is plagued by an ancient fairy curse.

Gah, this was delightful. I laughed during the birth, and Bael’s over protectiveness. Leonard is such a sweetie, and I enjoyed seeing the relationship build between him and Charlotte.

For being a novella, Harper did a splendid job of pulling me in, moving the story forward and giving me a sweet romance to swoon over.

Jonathan Davis was perfect for Leonard’s POV and captured his personality. Amanda Ronconi is always a welcome favorite and captures Harper’s humor while bringing Charlotte and the other characters to life. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

One Fine Fae is book six in the Mystic Bayou series by Molly Harper.

Dragon eggs, Fairy curses, and pie!!

Mystic Bayou keeps getting more imaginative as it goes on. Jillian from How To Date Your Dragon is pregnant. It’s not a normal pregnancy and she needs a magical midwife. In comes Charlotte, a Fae midwife who works for the International League for Interspecies Cooperation. She is in town just to help Jillian, but runs into Leonard, a human whose family line is cursed by a fairy.

Leonard and Charlotte are cute together. I enjoyed how positive and motivated Charlotte is to cure Leonard's curse even with his bleakness. Mystic Bayou in itself will keep you guessing and has a ton of fun characters whose love of pie keeps growing.

Audio: The book is told in dual points of view narrated by Amanda Ronconi and Jonathon Davis. The narration was great, as in all the prior books. I adore listening to the Mystic Bayou series and highly recommend the audios.

I treasure returning to Mystic Bayou and its town full of supernatural's. It’s a story full of spunk, a cute romance, and big events. You’ll just have to pick up the series and find out for yourself how witty and fun it is.

Rated: 4 Stars

*I recommend reading in order. Previous characters make appearances.

What can I say? I am a sucker for the happenings of Mystic Bayou.

I was on Audible last night and saw this audio version listed as a New Release. I was doubly thrilled when I realized it was free! So, this is a very short novella introducing us to Charlotte, who is a type of Fae. She also happens to be a midwife and is coming to Mystic Bayou to help with the birth of Jillian and Bael's baby. This is the first of its kind baby between a dragon and a phoenix, so it's completely up in the air how this baby is going to come into the world. Are they are going to have a bird, a baby dragon or a regular baby?

Of course, add in the male MC whose entire family has been under a faerie curse for the last 200 years and you get the usual shenanigans. If I had one complaint, it would be that it was too short.

Regardless, I loved the excuse to check in on some of my favorite characters and enjoyed every minute of it :)

This was such a fabulous novella in the Mystic Bayou series. It was so fun to get back to this charming mystic small town. I really adored the whole set up here, with the heroine being a midwife and helping Jillian give birth to their baby phoenix/dragon, and all the fun times with the town. I really enjoyed seeing the heroine being the one to help the hero break from his curse that causes him to be clumsy and it was so sweet! Definitely a short and fun ride.

As the birth of Jillian and Bael's baby draws near, Charlotte McBee, the fairy midwife, arrives in the small town of Mystic Bayou to help with the delivery, and also comes to the aid of Jillian's assistant, Leonard, whose entire family is living under a curse.

This novella provides a quick update on the goings-on in Mystic Bayou now that the supernatural community has been outed to the world. All of the couples from the previous installments put in an appearance and their close camaraderie and teasing are delighful. Zed, of course, steals the show like always.

Charlotte and Leonard are an adorable couple and their romance is very sweet. Leonard awkward clumsiness is cute and the way the town embraces Charlotte is wonderful.

Lokking forward to the next full book in the series.

This was cute, not as funny as the other full length novels but it did have a few funny parts. All of them mostly including Zed. I really enjoy this world though.

Short and nice, just what I needed.

Charlotte is a midway and heading to Mystic Bayou to help a dragon and a phoenix with their egg. Yes things gets strange in the Bayou. We do meet side characters from previous books, but I did feel like this novella could stand on its own. Enough was learned to move along.

While doing baby dragon egg stuff, she meets Leonard. The other POV, he has a Fae curse on him, oh I forgot to say that Charlotte is Fae! Anyway, poor Leonard, this is a mean curse that has been passed down generations for 200 years. They meet, they intrigue each other, and they were just cute. it is a novella, so it does not go deep, but I could still feel they were meant to be.

I liked the two narrator thing. Ranconi is good, and I really liked Davis too. He had this nice smooth voice that fit so well, and I could have listened to it for a long time. But I must say that even in 1.7x it managed to feel that I could have speed up even more with his voice. But that is just me. It was lovely.

We go back to Mystyc Bayou once again!
This novella was mainly focused on the birth (or laying?) of Jillian and Bael’s baby/egg.
Theres also a small side romance between the fae midwife, Charlotte, and Leonard, a local whose entire family has been cursed by a fae generations ago.
Just like the other novella, this one suffered from the same issue: the relationship was developed too quickly, borderline instantly love, and the characters didn’t have a lot of space to breathe and show us their full personality.

I've read the first book in this series and now this little novella is making me want to listen to all the books! I like the different types of supernatural creatures in the bayou and that different people come together. In this book we see a phoenix and a dragon have a baby, plus a fae falls for a cursed man.

Charlotte is sweet and pretty brave to deliver a dragon egg while the mom is on fire. She loves helping people and blessing new babies as they come into the world. Leonard is cursed because one of his ancestors was a huge dick, but Leonard couldn't be nicer. I liked that they both fell for each other pretty quickly and that Charlotte wanted so badly to help him get rid of the curse.

This was short but pretty cute and I'll be going back to finish the series!

I liked the characters Charlotte and Leonard and their love story, and I did not quite like the fact that the reader for Leonard was reading much slower than the one for Charlotte, so it was a bit irritating each time it was Leonard's chapter.

In short, she's nice, he's nice, they like each other at first sight, not too many obstacles for them to be together but some prejudice and a curse, all is quite manageable.

Actually I liked Mystic Bayou and would love to read/listen some stories about the town and its inhabitants, so if the novella was a kind of promo for the series, it works, count me in.

Return to Mystic Bayou, the town where supernaturals and humans live side by side, with a new twist -- thanks to the indiscretion of a supernatural being caught shapeshifting on camera, now the entire world knows about the existence of magic. Fae midwife Charlotte McBee has come to town to deliver the baby dragon-phoenix hybrid of Jillian and Bael (from How to Date Your Dragon) -- which involves her wearing a fire-proof suit while staying in a cave (which is so Mystic Bayou). The love story between Charlotte and Leonard is underdeveloped, with much of the focus on the town itself and Jillian and Bael, but I still really liked this book because I love the continuing characters in the series. I would move to Mystic Bayou if it were a real place.

Delivering the baby of a dragon shifter and Phoenix is hard enough, but add in being distracted by the local cursed human and all sorts of fun activities will start to fill your day! A humorous romance with a paranormal twist that lightens the action of the series with a lighthearted and witty book after the serious action of the last few books. A fun series to listen to and I'm looking forward to the next book!

3.5 stars for the writing. 5 stars for the narration. Hence, the 4-star rating.

Another snark-filled fun addition to Molly Harper's PNR world. Honestly though, this one felt a bit rushed. It was only a short one, I know, but if it had been about a quarter longer, it still would have been plenty short but much more flushed out. It just felt like it was too quick & left out more of the relationship development we normally get from this great author. As always, the narration was superb & perfect for this author.

But, it was a surprise (I didn't know it was coming out), and a free one at that on the audible plus catalog.
