I got the ebook of this for free a while back, but through I'd might give the audiobook a chance instead, considering there was one. Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me, and I don't think the author is for me either. The story could be interesting, but it was very slow, and filled with random backstory elements for all the characters involved. I don't need to know how the MC learned to meditate, just that she does it. The whole book felt like one big info-dumping experience, and it wasn't fun at all. I only pushed through because I didn't have anything better to listen to, but when I got it, I couldn't finish this book soon enough.
On top of that, the general writing style didn't work for me. It jumped from character to character - as mentioned above, giving us backstory for all of them that we didn't really need - and all of the characters were pretty much the same. Except the MC, of course, because she couldn't decide on a personality at all. It was like she tried copying Jane Yellowrock, but then also tried copying someone else, and then someone else still. It just didn't work for me at all.

Oh my!
It's wonderful to be reading another Michael Anderle book again.
Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely LOVING all of the authors his work, and company, have introduced me to - they are a credit to both, and are taking me places I didn't know even existed - but, when I first opened my empty Kindle, trying to decide what book to get first, I came across an author called Craig Martelle, and fell in love with his writing.
A month later, I'd read everything I could get my hands on, written by him, so widened my parameters to include books that he'd written with others, and that's when I came across one of his collaborations, with Michael Anderle.
So I bought everything I could of theirs, and then of Michael's alone, once I'd sampled his writing, too - and a couple of months later, I was totally addicted to everything both men had written!
I then started buying everything they'd written with other authors, too.
I now have over 2,000 books on my Kindle, and am adding more every month!
I'm a total Kindle addict, and I blame Craig, and Michael, for that!
Well, they shouldn't write such awesome books, then, should they? 🤣
Rogue is the first book of one of Michael's earlier series: Her Paranormal Majesty's Secret Service and, as usual, I saw the title, and bought it, blurb unread, purely going on that title. I hadn't a clue what it was about, until I started to read Rogue!
I love this book!
It caught my attention from the first paragraph, and it was only because I kept falling asleep while reading, around midnight last night, that I gave in, and put it aside to finish today.
I'm absolutely having a ball with all the new characters appearing throughout the story - plus those who have reappeared - and I'm enjoying the sassy, in-your-face , full-throttled experience, of watching Jenny deal with Spectres gone bad!
I'm so, so, glad that Michael wrote a whole series, because I think it'd kill me to have to stop reading about Jenny right now - it's bad enough that I'm already waiting, with bated breath, for the next book in the DUO Series, without having to wait to read more Jenny, too!
All that to say, I loved this book sooooo much! If you enjoy reading about strong women, and the paranormal, then do buy this, too, as it's well worth the read!
Well, book two of this series: Renegade, is now calling to me, so I'll just go answer that call, and I'll catch you on the Flip side, to let you know if it is as good as Rogue is!

I’ve never heard of a Megabook before, but this isn’t it anyway. I picked this title up and the rest of the series for only a few bucks. I’d say it is a pretty standard fit for this author. I’ve read several collaborations with other authors like Martha Carr, but Michael Anderle has a unique style that shows itself when he writes by himself.
I liken this series to the Unbelievable Mr. Brownstone series. There is a lot of action, a few surprises, and a fair amount of cussing. Not for everyone, but I found it enjoyable. The writing isn’t the best, but I’m not excepting the best writing from this author. I am expecting to be entertained and to that, he excels.
The main character is too much of a mystery is the biggest pain I had with the book. She has a huge backstory obviously and lots of tales. This should play out interestingly, but I’d like to know a little bit more about the character and their abilities by now. O’well, a minor complaint.
Overall, fun. Not the best thing I’ve ever read, but something I’m happy with and I’m happy with the author. Michael Anderle has once again made me happy to have read his books. So, I’ll be continuing to read them. To the next book!

I’m a do me, you do you
Oh it’s abt to go down. I think I have found the next series to bury myself in after the KG series. Ok Jennie is some type of I don’t know. She can talk to ghost and use their energy, use them to accent powers she already has. She has no idea where or why the powers were given to her. She works for a paranormal Queen who turns out to be some kind of corrupt and her ghost liaison Worthington is now on the run bc he decided to double cross Jennie, and she has a new neutral ghost partner named Baxter and he is all kinds of BAMF! Onward!

Rogue was worth the time to read. I’m sure you will agree.
An interesting and intriguing take on the paranormal. Actually had me considering several long-held beliefs. Now, I want to see where the story goes from here and how it turns out for Rogue.
