A popular author and speaker, Edna Ellison, PhD, has addressed women in almost every state in the US and has led women’s conferences across Europe and South and Middle America. A humorist at heart, Edna loves collecting Christian jokes and leading women in her church in the Beautiful Hat Society, a group of Christian women who meet monthly for encouragement, laughter and a time of sharing their mentoring adventures. The study portion of this is very light and fluffy- I found the questions and prompts unhelpful in growing and reflecting on my understanding of what it means to be the bride of Christ. The content of it that isn't the study portion has a lot of cool information and presents a new way of looking at things- I did grow through that and really enjoyed it. So I recommend it it as a content read and not if you are looking for a devotional bible study. However, If you are a new Christian or if you have never heard much about metaphors in scripture that connect Jesus to weddings/marriage and are not a super analytical/all up in your head philosophical person I think this book could be helpful and enjoyable as a study aid or devotional. The only issue is that it's organized into chapters that are a little long to get through in one day- it's not really organized like a daily devotional yet it's contents makes it function like one, just poorly.
