I enjoyed reading this book so much; I read it over the entire weekend! It starts out as a murder mystery and in solving the murder; they find that aliens have been interfering with our scientific research, leading us to form false concepts in our understanding of science, in order to slow down our advancements in technology. The book introduces 2 alien races, the Quorvians, which turn out to be our friends, and the Nazzikas, which are determined to take over the Earth, whether by interfering in our government or by force.

I read The New Renaissance, which is the second book in this series first, and then went back and read this one. I enjoyed them both, but I suggest you read this one first.

This is a wonderful, fast-paced story that is difficult to put down. It’s one of the most enjoyable science fiction books I have ever read!

This is a refreshing new take on a first contact story, based on alien interference, whereby the aliens have been manipulating our scientific research, preventing us from truly understanding the forces of nature. It begins with the murder of a scientist at the Brookhaven National Laboratory, an event that grabs your attention from the very beginning, but as the story unfolds, it turns into a roller-coaster ride all the way to the end.

The entire story is well written and told in an easy to understand, light-hearted way. In fact, the story takes some novel concepts such as multi-dimensional teleportation and quantum telepathy, and explains them in an easy-to-understand style.

The principal character in the book is FBI Special Agent Mark Johnson, but it’s Dr. Jessica Sanchez that takes the spotlight. Two very different individuals — Mark is a middle-aged, conservative, no-nonsense kind of guy, while Jessica is an intelligent, free-spirited, strong-willed young lady that enjoys teasing Mark in sexually provocative ways. The two characters with opposite personalities work together to solve the murder and eventually help uncover the alien interference that has been going on for years. During the story, the relationship between the two blossoms into romance despite their age and other obvious differences.

You will encounter mystery, suspense, romance, humor, political intrigue, military action, drama, and of course, science! What can I say? My emotions were all over the place!

This fast-paced story, turns on its afterburners about two thirds of the way into the book. It is at this point that you might end up staying up the entire night, like I did. I rarely make recommendations, but in this case, I can honestly say, BROOKHAVEN: The Quorvian Chronicles is one book I highly recommend.
