the taken girls has one of the most intriguing blurbs I've encountered in this year. I was very excited for this read. I wouldn't say that this was disappointing but rather this is just rather not what I expected.
I don't know if it's a me problem or what but every thriller I've read has always felt so slow in the first half. I feel like this book would have been better as a movie or show since we could actually see the clues when it can be hard to do so via words form.
nonetheless this was still an extremely engaging read, I really like the last part of the book where everything started falling into place. and it felt like an action movie with everything going. I love the ending too , the last line was very impactful
the twist in this was predictable to me but considering the reviews I've read it is not that predictable considering a lot of people didn't expect it It is definitely one that shooks and with a lot of thought, not something that is lazily written and thrown in just for the sake of the shock factor which I found in a lot of thrillers nowadays. The groundwork for the twist is laidout in sprinkles throughout the story and you find little clues here and there, enough to keep you sastify, but not enough to let you completely predict the twist.
I am guessing the author is a long time thriller writer considering the way the story flows is natural, and the author seems at ease with their own writing. I really applaud the masterful way the author has woven the plottwist within the story and connected each and every dots in such a clean way that everything is connected one way or another
the characters are very real and human. I can literally picture them in real life, they feel so real and I love the switch between timelines of past and present. It makes the story much more interesting with so much
my only critique was that some parts felt a little draggy and would make you bored at times but I think that's just a personal taste problem considering I still think the story was a well-paced one just not a pacing I particularly enjoy for the first half
definitely one that thrillers lover will enjoy , go in blind and you will be HOOKED
