Clocktower Romance #2

Carolina Cowboy

Rate this book
It was a really bad day when Lil McGovern rushed home to care for her estranged father. Then she got the rest of the story—he’s partnered with the cowboy who shattered her heart ten years ago. Worse, the duo is almost broke. Now, she has a dismal her dad’s mobility or her cowboy’s legacy and her last connection to her rancher roots.
The day of his partner’s stroke, Cody Barnfield’s plans circle the manure pile. Then Lil proposes to sell the ranch to fund her dad’s therapy and torches the mess. She might as well trade her dad’s land for his heart and soul. Cody should know. She traded his heart for a fancy life in the city. But just because he has to work with her doesn’t mean he’ll fall for her again. This cowboy knows his limitations.

Standing six feet tall in ballet flats, Lil has shouldered her way through the corporate world, but her family problem has a three-week fuse and two bull-headed cowboys in her path. There’s certainly no time for physical attraction—like that matters to the stinking cows or her foolish heart.

Cody’s key to saving his herd is to bridge the rift between Lil and her dad. It’s like stacking bales. Dad accepts Lil. Lil accepts she’s got ranching in her blood. And he rides happily into the sunset with the woman who owns his heart. Only thing is, he’ll need to lose more than his heart to keep what’s really important.

I am a sucker for a hot cowboy and he sounds like a good-looking guy. I love second chance romance and couples overcoming obstacles. Ranching is not something I have ever known much about so I found it fascinating. It was really interesting and so much fun to read. They demonstrated teamwork with a constant undertone of romance. I loved it so much!

Becke delivers again. The characters in this book were so relatable. I’m not familiar with the trials of running a ranch, but I felt like I was there. It was delightful to read a Cowboy book that was set on the east coast.

I expected to like this book, but...I loved it! The characters, the location the weather, the animals, the angst were all beautifully woven together for a remarkable story. When the main characters got cold, so did I. When they were hurting, I felt it. When they were happy, I smiled. A truly great author does this!

Dear Reader,

Two covers, one book? The new cover with the white horse signals the sweet, PG-13 version of Lil and Cody's romance. However, if you prefer more spice with your romance, I included a link to the missing scene. Now you know!

I hope you enjoy the ride.

Not the Best Read

Not the best book in my collection. Too drawn out, depressing and boring in places. But it was free !

Always love a cowboy story

I liked this story because they came back together and worked together for the family to do good. Their love was renewed.
