Is she willing to risk it all for one more night with the boss?
Thanks to a year-long hiatus, interior designer Samantha Price is desperate for a new project. But the only client she can land is Nick Breedlove, a former one-night stand who’s dominated her fantasies ever since! The real estate billionaire agrees their partnership is strictly professional—even as his flirting promises more. If Sam gives in to their passion…will Nick learn the truth about their baby son?
Zuri Day is a hopeful romantic. She believes in happy endings, half-full glasses and dreams coming true. That's why she's thrilled to be a contributing writer to this genre...one of her favorites!
Zuri doesn't remember exactly how old she was when she picked up her first romance novel, but she does remember it was love at first sight. "It was probably a Harlequin," she recalled during a recent interview. "And it thankfully took me away from a fairly dull and routine existence growing up in a small Kansas town."
Things aren't dull and routine anymore. Zuri now resides in Los Angeles with her family and when she isn't writing loves to travel the world, cook vegetarian food, work out, watch sports, attend concerts and theatre and enjoy the simple things in life.
"Many people have given up on love, much less romance," Zuri says. "I'm hoping that somehow, through the love-filled pages of my romance novels, I can ignite the reader's desire to believe again. Because everything is possible, when we believe..."
When Samantha returns home after being in Africa, she needs to find a job. She doesn't want to accept the position from Nick given their past. But this job is too great to pass up and she needs it to support her family. And that's the one thing she doesn't want Nick to find out about. So Sam has a choice to make, does she take the incredible job with Nick and let the cat out of the bag, or does she find something else and keep her secret forever?
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Sam is in quite the pickle when she returns from Africa and starts working for the man she had a one night stand with a little over a year ago. If she had her way, they would still be together. Nick is a businessman whose only focus is getting these vacation homes up and running for people to rent out. He has always admired Sam's work and is grateful to have her around. But will he still think that about her when he finds out her secret?
This book was alright. It was pretty predictable, with a couple of surprises along the way.
The Last Little Secret was my first Zuri Day novel, but it shall certainly not be my last. Steamy, dramatic and emotional, The Last Little Secret is a sizzling romance I read in one sitting.
Interior designer Samantha Price is well aware that she shouldn’t have agreed to a meeting with Nick Breedlove, but having taken a year-long hiatus and with no offers on the table, she finds herself with no other option but to go for a meeting with the man with whom she had a sizzling night of passion. Samantha has never been able to put her night with Nick behind her – especially because he is the father of the son she has never told him about!
Everyone around him seems to be getting married and having babies, but Nick Breedlove is not the slightest bit interested in settling down and having a family of his own. Nick’s entire life revolves around his business and he has got neither the time nor the inclination for a relationship – especially because no other woman has ever managed to come close to the one who dominates his fantasies and his dreams: Samantha Price. When Nick had heard that Samantha had left for Africa and married someone else, he never imagined that he would ever see her again – until she had agreed to come to a meeting with him and work for him. Nick intends keeping his relationship with Samantha strictly professional, but forced in close proximity together it soon transpires that business is the last thing on his mind!
As never forgotten feelings resurface, will Samantha and Nick give into their feelings again? Or will past secrets come between them and tear them apart…forever?
Zuri Day’s The Last Little Secret is an engaging and enjoyable contemporary romance brilliantly layered with heat, heart and emotion. A dramatic second chance romance with a gorgeous hero who will makes readers swoon and a clever, loyal and intelligent heroine they cannot help but cheer for, The Last Little Secret is a red-hot romantic treat that should not be missed.
What utter garbage. It started out decently enough, but then immediately became pieces of this that a and the next. Knowing how the family feels and in particular his parents, why were there no written interactions between them and Sam? What happened with the ex-husband and her sister-in-law? Where did they disappear too? There was written tension and fear and for what? A secret that ends when eventually told? Then the ending was total trash. What happened to get them there? Also, please explain to me how these guys are still seeing other people (hinted at) and the woman remains committed to an uncommitted relationship? Why are they not "seeing" other people to let the other person know they are not waiting to be remembered? I'm not saying make the woman a whore, but you don't make her pitiful either.
The story of Nick and Sam. I thoroughly enjoyed it. An accidental pregnancy and a secret that throws Sam's world into a tailspin. Samantha Price a strong individual living her life and Nick Breedlove a wealthy young man and eligible bachelor cross paths and sparks fire.
Sam returns to Vegas after a divorce from a prince that she rushed into marrying. Nick is looking to save his reputation and business investments. Sam is just the person to do it and more. Their attraction from the beginning is undeniable. Keeping her secret was torture in addition to taming her feelings for Nick to complete the task she had been hired to handle.
Can love conquer all or will secrets destroy everything?
The Last Little Secret is about just that: a secret. Well, a secret baby. Of course, that means it relies on miscommunication, and that can go either way for me. In this case, Zuri Day has penned an engaging and fun romance that was great for whiling away a rainy afternoon. Sam and Nick have good chemistry, and they're a couple you just want to see together. I didn't realize that this was part of a series until I started reading it, but I didn't have any problem following this one. I did notice a few secondary characters that I'm interested in reading more about, so I'll have to check out those earlier books.
This was my first Zuri Day book, but I found I really enjoyed her writing style and how the story itself flowed. Miscommunication and a secret baby aren't my favorite tropes to read, unless they are done well and for the most part I felt this one was done pretty well. I really enjoyed the chemistry between the main characters and there was enough of the side characters that it makes me want to check out the other books in the series to see who they are about. Though this is the 4th book in the series, I felt it could easily be read as a stand alone if you wanted, I didn't feel like there was anything I didn't understand or anything that confused me.
Samantha Price had moved back to the US after living in Africa. Nick Breedlove is the last unmarried sibling. Samantha is the one woman he could not forget. 4 years ago they had met at a party and then went their separate ways.
Samantha is an interior decorator. Nick hires her for his latest project. She is one of the best at her job. She had son that she was trying to figure out how to tell Nick he was the father of. They had to learn to be honest and upfront with one another. It was great catching up on the other family members.
Conclusion of this riveting series of black love in Breedlove, NV. Samantha and Nick are two of a stubborn kind of characters. Loved the story twists and catching up on the three brothers and wives and new children. I do not want the "Sin City Secrets" to end. Although six months elapsed between "Sin City Vows" the books are memorable.
I don't think I would have been able to pull it off holding back the child the way she did. It was very selfish of her and then to return and think she could really keep the child to herself I tell you things that women do.
Fun Fun Fun I enjoyed every minute of it. I loved it when Sam slapped the fire out of Nick and when Mr.Breedlove told him he was lucky because if he had done to his wife she would have come at him with bullets. So after five years Sam finally got her man.
This was good but it seemed like something was missing at times I didn’t get what was going on like was twin paralyzed or did he use to be? What was the point of the plot? I felt it was unfinished and when did Nick really fall for Sam?
Sam didn't tell Nick about their son because she read that he didn't want kids. Time was wasted, lies were told and their was disappointment and unhappiness. Love will make a way.
A blast from the past becomes a complication for the present. Day comes at the heart from all angles with an intriguing dance of drama and romance that pulls emotions deep under it's spell.
It took them a minute to get there but it was somewhat worth the trip around the world to get there. And loved the name drop of one of my favorite authors.
