I loved this story. It was a light, fun read. I would have given it more stars but the proofreading was horrendous. Entire paragraphs were repeated. Missing words, wrong words, bad grammar. I'm sad for this author that his work was so poorly represented.
Liked this book. Liked the main characters. Obvious that writer has extensive law enforcement experience. . Liked how author threaded the characters together. I plan on buying more books in this series.
Minor criticism.I got very very tired of author reporting for background the mass shootings. Nothing wrong with this technique just got tired of it. So admire him for providing the information and in parallel showing what was ongoing in his story.
I enjoyed all the different viewpoints. I would like it I if the author at the end would out in some things that the public could do to stem the mass shootings. It seems to me that the readers some "actionable" things to do. Actionable is the buzz word for now. It means get off your keister&do something. A list connecting to gun control
This story has Marsha going on a paid leave and visiting Clearwater Florida. She plans to take in some of the Phillies games. She has also is trying to overcome the events that have estranged her from her family. While there she runs into friends, Charlie and Joe, that she hasn't seen for a while she was at a ball game. She was originally staying in a hotel, but because of a incident, she wound up staying at Charlie's house and while there, became involved in helping a neighbor of Charlie who wound up in a domestic fight.
In addition, she started helping Charlie with his Private Investigation business in several cases. This led to more interaction with Charlie's neighbor and daughter. Eventually things finally came to a head and she once again needed to help Jess, the neighbor, and her daughter Briana.
To learn what event happened that cause Marsha to go on leave, how her time with Charlie gave her new insight, how the Jess/Brianna episode worked out, and what Marsha learned when she finally went to Washington, D.C. then you must read this book.
If you ever wondered how an ordinary person can evolve into a killer who shoots family and others in a mass killing attempt, this book gives you insight. Depending on your stance of gun control your opinion of the book will vary. All in all it is decisively written and has a strong heroine in Marsha, an FBI agent, who does her job above and beyond. This book involves a husband who was bullied into living above his means and forces his wife to take her daughter and try to salvage their lives by getting divorced.
I grew up in Clearwater and this book was true to the place. Even the gentlemen's club. The story was one of those you had to read through as fast as you could. There are a few things that need small editing .
We as humans doubt ourselves. It's easy when the ones you trusted didn't back you up. The story builds as a man thinks it's more important to keep up with his brothers than his wife and child. It escalates from there. It's scary what happens. Great read. Go get it.
Great story about a female FBI agent who is currently suspended while her actions are scrutinized for an incident in Philadelphia. Meanwhile, she bunks with a former boss who is now a private investigator, helping him with his cases. Lots of action and intrigue.
Really likable main character and great storylines (both this book and previous one). BUT they seriously need proof reading. Lots of silly mistakes but also several lines which occur twice.
Great characters, great plot and powerful ending. Clearly John Hora is a first rate author and I look forward to reading the rest of his series with Marsha I'd he's.
Author did Amazing job writing this story. A lot of suspense. Kind of knew, where the story was goin, just by reading how the events played out. Had to keep reading, still kept me interested till the end.
Marshall is in Clearwater to wait out an investigation into what happened on a stake out. Jess and Willis are fighting over money. Things get physical and you won't see the ending coming.
Started a little slow the reason is to introduce you to the main characters then it's blowout action, heroines, killers, guns, mystery. I found a new writer!!!!!!
She found solace in Mr Heineken and Mr.Daniels wondering why she became a FBI agent, replays in day dreams and nightmares. Good characters and action to keep you to the end.
