Finally finished! There were some really helpful tips and it was nice that there were SO many stories of successful VBACs. The final story was also helpful remembering that even achieving a VBAC doesn’t necessarily mean the perfect birth! Struggled to read at some points because it really could’ve used some editing and some parts felt a bit overwhelming and scattered.

Beautiful collection of inspiring VBAC stories.

I’m a little disappointed with this book, though. There’s so little diversity in the stories—while it reads as if a group of friends got together to share their stories, there’s a sameness to these stories that is almost exclusionary toward anyone who doesn’t share just this experience or just these world views. With a few small exceptions, pretty much it’s a book about middle-class Christian white women having VBACs. That doesn’t make it a bad book, but it does make for a weird reading experience if you don’t identify with that specific group.
