Enjoyed Kyle and Kimara’s story. Reading these older romances that date back to the 90s and before, highlights some age gaps and even tropes that may not hit the same now. I still have an appreciation for the author and the love story conveyed.

I'm definitely a fan of Brenda Jackson. This book was short, sweet, and to the point, but man, I really enjoyed myself with it! Can't wait to read more!

Cupid's Bow

I loved the story of Kyle and Kimara!! Kimara had a sweet innocent love that I could definitely relate to. I read this book quickly over 2 days. I had read "One Special Moment" out of order just prior to this so it was good to get the back story of Kyle and Kimara and even better seeing the introduction of the handsome Sterling Hamilton. I guess Fire and Desire is up next! Happy reading you all!!

This was a cute story. Marriage arranged by decree of his grandfather's will. She had always loved him. He had his heart broken by another and was intent on not giving his heart to another woman.
I really enjoyed this book.

Short but sweet

All they needed was a little push in the right direction and let nature take its course. Kyle and Kimara were made for each othe and Poppa Garwood knew it.

I found this to be an ok read; typically, I favor marriage of convenience tropes. While I liked the premise, the execution sometimes left me uncomfortable. Namely, I found it difficult to get over the fact that at 16, Kimara was head over heels in love with Kyle, who was eight years her senior. Granted, this was a one-sided affair, seeing as she did not have an opportunity to act on her interest. But her youth made the age gap cringey for me. Perhaps it would have been less jarring if her character was even a couple years older. Especially seeing as though Poppa Garwood had essentially been plotting for Kimara and Kyle to get hitched since Kimara was 16.

Now, I have read other stories where a will stipulates that an heir can only access their inheritance if the married. I can roll with that. But I felt as though Poppa Garwood was doing the absolute most when he demanded that they also conceive within 6 months of marriage. That was a bit much for me and that fact kept pulling me out of the story because one, it was kind of creepy and two, fertility doesn't always work like that but ok...

This was originally published in the last 90s so there were some things brought up about weight, appearances, and gendered norms that just did not hold up well for our current times. I found it tougher to keep in mind the time period so that I could continue to enjoy the book.

Overall it was not a bad read, but definitely a mixed bag experience.

Excellent read

Excellent read, I loved the characters and storyline. Kyle and Kimara both had their heart broken. Her’s by him and him by a cheating fiancé. Kyle and Kimara married to fulfill his grandfather’s will. It took a decade for Kyle to recognize and allow himself to love in his heart again. He and Kimara were meant for each other and his grandfather knew it. True love conquers all.

Wonderful love story.

Enjoyed Kyle and Kamara's story. Kyle's grandfather was a sneaky one. When his will was read with several stipulations regarding Kyle and Kamara's Kyle was very upset but his grandfather was right. Kyle got cold feet and left the marriage. In the end, love won out and Kamara and Skype remained together and had three children. I love this author.

Awesome book

I chose this rating because I love the whole madris series and what I didn't like is that Kyle tried to let the woman he was engaged to nine years before control his heart and he stopped giving women his heart until his grandfather made that stipulation that his marry the girl he grow up with and he fell in love with her that's the part I really like.

Chloe's Bow

Brenda never fails to deliver. I read this after her other books and still enjoyed this sappy predictable love story. Great job.
