“You are all so courageous and certain of everything. How do you know you are doing the right thing?” I asked. “I can feel it,” she said. “I want to get the magic out in the world. I want everyone to be able to enjoy it, but we can’t let history repeat itself. People executed each other with charms just to get more charms. More wicked charms were invented. This time, it must be controlled somehow.”

Gina Mansfred; heiress by day, jewel thief by night, chooses to join The Guild and work to find the book-the key to figuring out the charms. Is she intrigued? Of course! Is she in danger? Most definitely and defiantly! Will she find success in the quest? That, is another story, but in true Elina Vale style, we will follow wherever Gina goes to find out the answer. Gina is more than a bit obsessed, and that makes it harder to learn the lessons presented.

I am so looking forward to Book 3- I can hardly wait to find out what happens next. Highly recommended. 5/5

The adventure continues in this second book of the Treasure Hunter’s Heart Series. I gave it 5 stars because I loved the way it all fit together. The book kept me in thralled the whole time I was reading it. I only put it down because I had to work and sleep. Gina was having to learning all the hard lessons that life had to teach us in a very short period of time.
When Gina left the Guild and the divided behind, I really thought that she wouldn’t be able to stay out of all the excitement but she did for a while until the guilt of knowing what the Divided planned on doing to the city soon. Gina’s long lost Uncle Mat shows up to meet with her at the Mansfred house at last. They spend a few days getting to know each other until they both find out that they both know about the charms and have been secretly searching for them. But eventually the guilt got to Gina that she just felt like she had to tell the King about the charms and that the Divided were on their way to take over the city, as she was trying to make an appointment with the king she saw that Rainer had an appointment with the King soon and she knew she had to stop it at all costs.
When the invasion happens because Rainer moved sooner that he was suppose to, after trying to stop Rainer and failing, Gina and Mat exit the city on Lacrissa ship which Mat had made arrangements without consulting Gina. Lacrissa ends the story with quite the surprise for Gina.
I am looking forward to the third book to see how everything worked out with the divided taking over her town and Lacrissa’s surprise news.

This is a relatively fast read and is the second book in the series. This could probably be read without having read the first book because a lot of the previous book is mentioned. There are two secret organizations that are trying to bring back magical items that were supposedly destroyed by the church several hundred years ago. Gina, the main character, is torn by which group she wants to support. She is also torn between two leaders of the groups, Philip and Nicholas. There is more romance in this book than the previous book. This book still has plenty of action and racing to find items that both groups want. The books is set up for part three but does not end in a cliffhanger. Lily (Gina's thief alter ego) is not as big a part of the story as she was in the first book. There is a huge reveal near the end that I did not see coming at all. A fun read.

What will the merchant daughter do?
Gina is one determine lady she fears for her home and the lives of her people. She refuses to allow Nicholas and the Divided from hurting them. So she joins a group and with their help will find the book that holds the power. Full of magic this book is not a quick read but it was well worth the time I spent with it. It was a captivating tale so very well-written and with a load of action. The characters blend so well together too. The ending is sad, holds secrets, and leaves you with wanting more. I am looking forward to the next book. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Gina is back and trying to save everyone and find answers and power. It grabbed my attention and kept me reading just to see what would happen next and if Gina would find the all powerful book. I liked the twists and that I did not always know what would happen next especially with the Divided. Just a well written book that left me wanting the next one when I got to the last page. Cannot wait to see what happens next in the series.
