Promises of God #4

As Long As I Cling

Rate this book
SPECIAL DELUXE VOLUME
For Tommy Porter life is nowhere near what he thought it would be. His deepest desire is simple—to love and to be loved. But pain and heartbreak have taught him that that’s not possible for him. In fact, the pain let him know that the better path is to remain single—for the rest of his days. But a timely sermon challenges him to cling to God like never before, and Tommy begins to see the Lord move in unexpected ways. Will he hold fast to his fears? Or will he cling to God and allow His love to conquer those fears?
Stephanie London is certain her marriage will never be what she’d hoped. Even now, as she and her husband are expecting their first baby, she’s painfully aware that she longs for more. When she and Lindell finally take the honeymoon vacation they never got, Stephanie allows herself a glimmer of fresh hope. But the trip ushers in their greatest test yet—and Stephanie fears it could be the end.
Jade Rogers has never fit into anyone’s circle. Outspoken and even mean by nature, her disposition has meant a life in which she can’t name a single friend, besides her twin sister. But now that she’s given her life to Christ, the old Jade is gone—at least, in spirit. But what does that look like in reality? And when a potential friend suddenly crosses her path, will she allow the Lord to do a new thing in her life?
In the midst of these stories and more, Hollywood comes to St. Louis to film the movie based on the life of Pastor Lance Alexander—and the Living Word family encounters more than a few twists and turns as a result.
Join characters you’ve come to know and love and meet a few new ones in this special deluxe volume in the Promises of God series!

Hooray !!

Ok, ok, ok... Deep breath, and exhale. This whole series is amazing but I am so ecstatic this book is finally here!!! My goodness this one is so rich, so encouraging and edifying I hated to put it down! Wow I'm so happy for this book but I really hate to see this series end. I'm hoping this is not over. Even though we got a lot of conclusions to major stories in this one book. Stills I can see the potential for more. Can anyone say next generation!
I can't get enough so I'm going back to the beginning book and read them all again. Peace , Blessings and Love 💖

Kim does not disappoint in this book, AT ALL!

She came back hard at us with 677 pages of nothing but goodness!!! Way too much to tell so, I will only give a snippet of things I loved in this book. (She brought back characters from all her books, therefore, you must read them all on order to know who is who and what is going on.)

Stephanie (my BFF in my head) is pregnant and is yet working hard running her B & B. It is consuming much of her time and leaving very little room for anything or anyone else.

Jade is a young girl who made a very stupid choice and for some reason couldn’t understand why the consequences should have been as harsh as they were.

Tommy is a man who has made peace with his life and is adamant about staying single. A friend approaches him about being single and what does this walk look like when it’s being applied to God’s plan for their lives. He decided to share his thoughts with him and soon his audience of two became an actual Bible study.

A movie production is being filmed at their church and the lives of the cast and congregants of the Living Word are learning to cling to God in all of their lives trials and circumstances.

Kim uses scripture beautifully in this book. The reason why I love Kim’s writing is because it’s real. I literally know people like most of her characters in this book. Therefore it was easy connecting and falling in love with the people in her books. The love stories, the lessons, the friendships and the marriages are something every Christian could learn from, grow from and or simply just enjoy reading about.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book and definitely look forward to reading more from her in the future!

I Can Do All Things Through Christ

Through the making of a movie about Lance and his first wife, Kendra ( read Hidden Blessings) this book tackles every life situation, head on no holes barred. From Godly friendships to sex in marriage. The challenges of being lonely and celibate to living with a house full. Incomplete dreams to dreams fulfilled beyond wildest imaginations. Doing things on our own to Clinging tightly to God. All done to the beat of old school (well some new school) music. It was great catching up with characters from previous books and meeting new ones, some who came to start trouble. Kim dives deep and pulls us with her into handling life in a way that is for our good and God's glory. Have pen and paper ready. You will not leave the way you came. Oooh, did I mention two new songs? Yaasss come on Ms Kim!

WOW! I can't believe I just finished the last book of Kim Cash Tate! I started earlier this year on a journey to reading all of Kim's books. In a way they all connect. My suggestion is to read ALL of her books, but start from her very first one!

Now, this last book. This is the biggest book I have ever read - through audible. Never thought I would have read a 700 and spme page of a book. This jewel of a book! WOW. Kim's books have CHANGED my ENTIRE life. Through these books, I've gotten closer to God. They've encouraged me to CLING to Him. And allow Him to be my best friend. I talk to God more because of these books! I learned from their examples.

EVERYBODY should read these books. THEY WILL CHANGE YOUR ENTIRE LIFE! PROMISE!
READ THEM!!! These are the most spiritually driven books I have ever read in my ENTIRE LIFE!

A fiction book that points us to a relationship with our Heavenly Father.

The promise series has developed a cast of characters that feel like real life people. Reading these books has me thinking I would like to go to St. Louis and meet them all. It feels like Living Word and Living Hope are real places.
I find myself talking to the LORD while reading these books.
Well done Kim Cash Tate, well done.

Awesome read again

Kim Cash Tate writes so beautifully. Her stories transcend the page and have you feeling like you know the characters personally or at least wishing you did. Enjoyed yet another book if hers. Thank you

Breath of Fresh Air

I enjoy Kim Cash Tate's books, they are written with Jesus as the Center. She has a way of incorporating fiction with Scripture which draws you closer and compels you to develop a lifestyle of "clinging to God ". The characters become like family and friends and you can hear yourself talking to them.
If you are looking for content that will challenge you to go deeper while entertaining you, consider The Cling Series. Your soul will be happy you did.

Best Romance Novel I have ever read

I have been reading romance novels for at least 40 years. A lot of them good, some really good and some terrible. Because I am a business owner, time is a luxury for me, so I read while walking, to get my mind off of exercising, which I hate. But never in my life have I ever found a Christian romance that perfectly blended God’s Word with the storyline so beautifully,to where it does not take away from the story line. The blend is perfect. I learned more from this fiction novel than from many other nonfiction Christian books. Again, the blend is phenomenal! At the same time, I generally don’t express emotions when reading these books. With this one, I cried, I became frustrated and I literally laughed out loud. I highlighted passages, which was also a first for me with a fiction novel. I have read every book in this series and each one gets better and better. I pray the series continues, but I don’t know how she will ever top this last book. Kim Cash Tate, you have officially become my new favorite author. I am buying anything you write! God bless you richly!

I Clung to Every Bit of It!

This book me clinging and abiding through the pages. Each character held its own in the pages. I was never bored with all the drama. There was ex girlfriend drama and past trauma that returned to the present. When you are trying to move on and take three steps forward the devil pull you four steps back. There emotional baggage, insecurities and fear from the MCs but through their familial relationships they were able to pull through challenges.
Prayer was monumental throughout the story. Seek God's word in everything you do. Scripture was primary and I felt like I was reading parts of my journey with God. It was relatable and authentic to the Christian walk. The characters were flawed, messy, loving, and honest. The Christian walk is not an easy life. The author gave it a transparent portrayal of what happens.
It wasn't unbelievable or out of sorts that the reader could learn life lessons. It was a family affair with all of its drama, past trauma, church hurt, and messiness.

I totally recommend this book to anyone use seeking a Christian fiction with some "weight" in its pages. Its worth its almost 600 pages.

I laughed throughout this book, felt the presence of God, even experienced some gentle conviction to spend more time in His presence. I cried many tears of joy toward the ending. I think this was her best novel yet in this series. Don’t get me wrong, I give them all 5 stars but I think this one went above and beyond. I know there is another one coming and I can’t wait to see how God will use Kim next time. The characters, dialogue and scenery is all so real it’s tangible. I could definitely be a fly on the wall in all of the scenes. I’ve never read a series written this well before. Thank you Kim for your continued obedience to Christ for bringing forth His promises:))

Double Impact

I initially began this series for pure reading entertainment. I was searching for a good Christian romance novel and had no idea that God was setting me up for so much more! This series revived my spiritual journey. I'm praying more and even doing the cling challenge referenced in the book! The writing is simply phenomenal!!!! The way she weaves God's word into this novel is what I found most captivating. The character's lives are imperfect and authentic... totally relatable which makes the storylines so powerful! I'm looking forward to part 5 (or at least another novella to hold me over)!

Real World Church Family

The book is intense in emotional action that brings the reader into the wor!d of a church family that includes the youngest toddler to the elder matriarch. Each character comes alive on the pages and has a role to play in this author's wor!d. There are real situations not sugar coated that we can all identify with presented and addressed in some touching and surprising ways. The easy flow keeps the reader engaged and ultimately rooting for the characters. I laughed out loud and cried and picked up my Bible too. A must read part of the series. Bravo!

Another enjoyable ride with the friends and family tied together by their worship at Living Word and Living Waters churches. Exploring their lives, entanglements, challenges and triumphs through the lens of their religion is not only satisfying from a storytelling perspective, but also as a means to learn more about Christian faith and practice.

I also appreciate Tate's voice and clear, succinct writing. With this latest in this series, she incorporates the pandemic into the story line for a more contemporary feel.

This book right here! I enjoy this series! The characters are real, honest, and so loving. The connections between sisters, husbands & wives, mother and son, Jillian & her family, the church, and the cast were so uplifting. I love the way the author ministers to the reader so that they understand and can be blessed through a rich story line. This is a book where I finished and immediately missed the characters. This books shows a beautiful demonstration of building a relationship with God in order to heal, reconnect, forgive, grow and even find your purpose.

After reading this whole series all I can say is WOW! Tate does an amazing job with not only character development but also relating her stories to real life situations that the reader can understand, process and grow from. This series has not only taught me a valuable lesson to practice but it gave me great biblical references.

One thing I will tell future readers, there are deaths that occur within the series. It’s hard to read about them but I do understand this is something we should all be able to discuss.

Movie in the making

What I love about the books are they are like having Bible study while reading. The script is ready to be released for TV. Sometimes it is hard to keep up with all the characters but I love the relationship journeys. I’m in a Mega church so I understand the small group concept and how relationships are formed and it becomes a safe place. This book is also a guide on discipleship and learning to pray and cling to God.

Excellent read!

As per her usual, Kim CashTate has interwoven multiple gospel messages within the story line of this book....and she did so seamlessly. This is the 4th book in her promises series, and like the others, I had a hard time putting it down. If you are not an avid reader, like me, you will not be disappointed when you start reading this book. I finished in a little over a week. I highly recommend this book as well as the others in the series!

Kim Cash Tate exceeded my expectations again. "As Long As I Cling" is another five-star addition to the Promises of God series. We get to catch up on our favorite characters, meet some new ones, all while digging deeper with our understanding of who God is and his place in our lives. One of the many things I love about Mrs. Tate is her ability to connect real issues through fictional characters who like me are grappling with how to live a life for God. I also love that she writes a complete story with well-developed characters. Mrs. Tate is an inspiration and I look forward to what’s next.

Exceeding Abundant

I have enjoyed all the books in this series but this one is "exceeding abundant"! I am now looking for the web production " Cling" series. I was already working on a closer relationship with the Lord and this book has so many little nuggets. I read it for pleasure this time, I'm going back through with my notebook and Bible in hand the next! Thank you Mrs. Tate, I am looking forward to what's next for my fictional church family🙏🏾

Excellent read

Excellent read, I enjoyed the characters and storyline. It’s been a few years since I read Promises book 3. It was great to catch up with all the family, friends and associates. Along with meeting new characters. This was a lengthy inspirational novel, with strong spiritual lessons. The Cling series was particularly moving. The whole novel was food for thought. I was pleased Tommy and Jillian finally got their forever together.

What a fantastic book! Kim Cash Tate did it again. This book was exactly what I was supposed to read. Every season in my life has been portrayed in this book. And God has been speaking to me during their Cling challenge. The topic that they discuss was so refreshing and it was so powerful that their focus was fixed on having an intimate relationship with Jesus. I feel refreshed and renewed in my faith.

FANTASTIC!

Love, love, loved it!! I felt like I was in the movies, didn’t want to stop reading. Went to work, back home to reading, church, back home to reading, traveling, reading. Fell asleep reading, went to work sleepy from having read too late. I thoroughly enjoyed the series, but especially this book. My “sistas” book club is mad at me for reading a book ahead, but they’ll get over it! Congratulations and thank you for sharing you talent!!

love love love it

This series is awesome. This particular book had me crying several times. I was also praying and rereading the scriptures in the story. I loved everything about this story. I didn’t expect it to end like this. I hope there is more. I literally forgot these were characters in a story. I would think about the situations and think I sure hope this happens or that happens. Great writing.

Convictions and Blessings

This book gave me gentle reminders of all the goodness God has provided but also convicted me due to things I had taken for granted or simply not been grateful for.

The characters also seemed very realistic in their trials and tribulations.

I have 0 complaints!
