Billionaire Baby Club #1

Lizzy Goes Brains Over Braun

Rate this book
From New York Times Bestselling Author Jasinda Wilder comes a sexy, laugh out loud romantic comedy series that is the perfect escape. If you’re a fan of Sex in the City and you binge watched Selling Sunset, you don’t want to miss this. It was just supposed to be just a 40th birthday prank for our boss after a wild night of girlfriends, laughter, and a LOT of margaritas. When we placed the ad in the newspaper, we never thought anyone would actually answer it. We also didn’t think that Laurel would be so brainless as to put Lizzy’s actual phone number in the ad… “Beautiful, successful single woman, 40, seeks attractive male billionaire to impregnate her the old-fashioned way. No strings. NOT seeking sugar daddy. Validation required. Serious inquiries only, please.” What could possibly go wrong? Everything.

Lizzy owns her own real estate brokerage and is doing very well for herself. Having just reached the ripe old age of forty, she is beginning to wonder if motherhood is still an option for her. On a drunken night out with her girls to celebrate this new age milestone they joke about placing a classified for a baby daddy. These girls are so funny….. Well that’s what she thinks until her phone rings.

The first guy who calls is old enough to be her father and she is so shocked to be getting a call she hastily ends it. After getting confirmation from her ‘friends’ that the ad was indeed placed she begins to mull over the what ifs. When she receives a second call, this time from a guy with a really sexy voice, she begins to rethink her stance on the idea.

Deciding to give the idea a chance she phones back guy number two, Braun Bennet. A self made millionaire who has been focused on his business and hasn’t settled down with anyone yet. He is fully aware that Lizzy would be a no strings attached sex partner who iis looking for the right guy to deposit into her vajayjay until she has a fertilised egg. A purely transactional arrangement with no parental obligations after the pregnancy is confirmed.

What neither of them were expecting was how compatible they would be, in every way. They have similar interests, are passionate about their careers and OMG, when it comes to sexy times it is ridiculously off the charts. If Braun could have described his dream woman, Lizzy would be her. She is everything he had no idea he was looking for. Lizzy is feeling it too and this guy is seriously blowing her mind in every way.

“Lizzy…” he whispered, awed. I couldn’t handle whatever poetic knives he was about to pierce me with, so I kissed him to shut him up. Big mistake. He tasted like me, and like wine. Pussy and Malbec—what a flavor combo."

Things could very easily get messy and fast. However, Lizzy’s opinions and beliefs on monogamy have been stained by her parents' marriage. She would never want to put her own child through the things she had to endure growing up. No, it’s safer to keep emotions and love out of this and stick to what has been agreed on. What could possibly go wrong?

Jasinda Wilder is a talented author that writes all sorts of romantic tropes and this time we have a new fun and sexy series in the form of the Billionaire Baby Club. There were so many laugh out loud moments and incredibly sexy moments in equal measure. There is so much more to come and I look forward to more from this fun groups of friends.

NO LONGER LISTENING TO HYPE

DNF

So many authors are promoting this book, but even after the first chapter, I asked myself WHY? Such bland writing and dialogue. Nothing to capture interest even in the first scene! It goes like this: "Did you sell the house" "Yes, for [this much]." "Let's go eat." "Where shall we eat?" “I have to write up this offer.” “I’ll be waiting for your email.” And the narrative was the same.

Scintillating, no? Totally flat. I can't even begin to take it apart because honestly it isn't worth my time. BTW authors, are you tied to "word count" so fanatically that you forget how English works? DON'T, DON'T, DON'T write out numbers where numerals belong. Not in addresses, phone numbers, ages ... It's stupid and aggravating. When do you ever write out seven-two-six-five Clark Street?

Finish this book? I'd rather get my head waxed. If a book can't capture my interest in the beginning and reads this mundane, it doesn't matter what happens later. If you can't tell, this book was a complete bust for me and this is my shortest review EVER. I'M NO LONGER LISTENING TO HYPE!

A fun and emotional beginning to a series about six friends who are living their best lives. Successful women who know what they want and aren't afraid to take it. When the first one of their group turns forty, they all start to question what their HEA looks like. Priorities are about to change.

Turning forty is a milestone. Lizzy never imagined how life changing this year would be. She's a strong, independent woman who thought she knew exactly what she wanted. Then one drunken night, she discovered she wanted more.

Putting an ad in the paper to find yourself a man willing to help you make yourself a baby, with no strings attached, seems like a crazy thing to do. That is until the most perfect man ever responds to her ad. Maybe her friends won't be killed slowly for their little prank.

Braun is just the guy for the job. A man on the verge of billionaire success, he is willing to step up and give Lizzy exactly what she needs. No strings, just a baby. So he gets to indulge his every fantasy with this gorgeous woman until the deed is done and then they both walk away. This nerdy, tech guy feels like he's living in a dream.

The chemistry in intense. Their passion for one another is overwhelming in the best way. Both of them get way more than they bargained for. Lizzy has never had a real relationship and she has no plans for one ever. Things are getting complicated because feelings were never part of the contract and she's running scared.

I loved both of these characters. Braun definitely had the swoon factor. The man was a total catch. Handsome, brilliant, and driven, but also sweet and romantic. Lizzy had always thought she would be alone because she was afraid of being hurt. At times I wanted to strangle her as she battled with herself. It was time for some soul-searching to decide whether or not Braun was worth the risk.

A great group of women who don't need a man, but may just want one. Searching for the fairy tale will get us some laugh out loud moments as well as highlight friendships of your ride or dies. A great start to a series about independent women.

This review was originally posted on Books of My Heart

Review copy was received from Publisher. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I don't think I've ever read a billionaire book before but they are all the rage it seems so I thought I'd give Lizzy Goes Brains Over Braun the first book in the Billionaire Baby Club a try, because there are totally just billionaires out there looking to knock up a woman.

Lizzy owns a real-estate company and is doing very well in her life but one her drunken night out with the girls she makes a few confessions.  She really wants a baby; she wants all the fun times that come with making a baby but nothing after that.  How do you make that happen?  Well, you put an ad in the paper and spell it out.  You must be rich, we make a baby the old-fashioned fun way, then hasta buddy I'm done with you.

I'm not sure where I want to begin.  I've read my fair share of housewife smut, every woman should have a few steamy scenes to draw a little inspiration from every now and again.  I can say the sexy times were pretty hot and will probably do the trick.  They are a bit long and drawn out when they are happening and a few times I got a little bored since I'd been through about seven female orgasms', not mine, Lizzy's' and I'm like aren't they tired yet, because I am.  But since they are nestled together you could skim if needed.

Braun is great, he makes money in the tech world and is a bit of a workaholic but is just nerdy enough to be adorable.  He seems too good to be true.  He answered the ad because he was a bit curious and was tired of not knowing if someone just wanted to be with him for his money.  Lizzy is an emotional mess really.  She has some pretty big baggage going on that she has been toting around since childhood.  She is so afraid of relationships and love that she has really never had more than what one might consider a string of booty calls as a relationship.  What will she do with this guy that really is perfect?

There were a few cons for me in this book.  The women are crass, a bit too crass for my tastes.  Some of the conversations were all about big Ds and getting their groove on in detail.  It seemed more like guy locker room talk than female conversations.  The beginning was a little off putting because of how raunchy they talked at the bar while coming up with this stellar billionaires and babies scheme.  Lizzy drove me a bit crazy in her run away from feelings and don't have a real conversations about them with the man you are clearly in love with.

All of the women seem to have something big holding them back from getting on the relationship/marriage/baby train so I'm sure the future books will explore that.  Part of this reminded me of the bachelor with all the extra romantic gestures you can only do when you have all the money, but at least there wasn't a bevy of women vying for Braun's attention.

I don't know if Billionaire books are for me.  Just a little too much focus on fancy things and places.  Still this book did have its moments and I really did want Lizzy and Braun to get their Happily Ever After in the end.

Narration:
Summer Roberts did a decent job portraying this book.  I did like her voice for Braun and Lizzy and her sexy times narration is pretty top notch.  I was able to listen to this at my usual 1.5x speed

Don’t let that adorable cover fool you - this is the steamiest book I’ve read in months, and there’s very minimal comedy. It does have light, rom com-style vibes and a storyline that feels pretty fluffy, but it’s definitely not your typical rom com. For one, this features a group of proudly single, 40ish women who are successful on their own and don't need a man to keep them company. I loved some of the female empowerment messages that were included, but didn't find it easy to connect to these blonde, beautiful, self-described "hookup artists, serial daters, cougars, and sugar mamas." That definitely left me feeling a bit disconnected, and the single perspective paired with a focus on steam didn't help matters. Amongst all of that steam was the foundation of a solid romance - but this doesn’t quite stick the landing.

The story follows Lizzy, a successful luxury real estate agent who just turned 40 and decided that she might be ready for some changes in her life. While love is not something she's looking for, Lizzy would be interested in having a baby - preferably made the very fun, old-fashioned way. When her friends take her drunken daydreaming a little more seriously than expected, Lizzy finds herself the focus of an ad that seeks a billionaire looking to put a baby in her with no strings attached. Tech guy and former nerd Braun responds to Lizzy's post, and it's not long before these two finds themselves with a whole lot of chemistry on their hands - and nothing but determination to make a baby.

I'm a huge rom com lover, but I went outside of my comfort zone a little bit to read Wilder's heartbreakingly fantastic The Cabin last year - one of my absolute favorite romances of 2020. So this really should've been a homerun for me, and it just wasn't. I had a lot of trouble relating to Lizzy, and we only get her perspective. Braun remains very much a mystery - I still don't completely understand his motivations, I don't have any idea why he'd be willing to give up his own baby, and they don't actually do enough talking for me to feel like they moved past lust. That's a problem. Lizzy doesn't seem to wonder about those things either - she barely thinks about the baby at all - and there's also no mention of the basics (when she's actually ovulating, taking a pregnancy test after sleeping together, the reality that the process will probably take longer since she's 40, etc.). The ending is also a problem for me, as is the "funny" conversation where one of the heroine's friends laughs about that time she sexually assaulted a guy in college. So, while I loved some of the topics explored in this, I loved the subtle moments of connection, I loved the hero, and I loved the growth in intimacy that's depicted through the steamy scenes... I didn't love the book as a whole. I appreciated receiving an early copy (and am voluntarily leaving a review), but I'm definitely on the fence about this one.

My first read by the author and it is seriously amazing. I went in kind of blind because I forgot the blurb (blame the long list of TBRs). I wasn't expecting this fun and emotional rom-com to be so good!

Lizzy's a strong, independent woman who thought she knew exactly what she wanted and had everything. Then one drunken night, she discovered she wanted more, she wanted a baby. Her friends did a crazy thing to go about it though, that is putting a real ad in a newspaper. And when Braun, possibly the most perfect man ever responds to her ad, she went ahead with it. Provided with a foolproof no-strings-attached contract. Or so she thought.

This is a really fun read. I just wished it was dual POV, I would've loved to read Braun's side of the story. Even though sometimes I did get frustrated with Lizzy. I kind of get her reservations about why she's scared of commitments. But in the end, it was a sweet ending! If you’re looking for a fun and lighthearted read, then pick this one up! Can't wait for Autumn's book now!

THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK: LIZZY GOES BRAINS OVER BRAUN.

GENRE: ROMANTIC COMEDY.
AUTHOR:JASINDA WILDER.
Type: STANDALONE.
POV: FIRST PERSON: SINGLE POV.
MY RATING: 4 " Laughing my heart out" stars.

Lizzy goes Brains over Braun is the first installment in the Author Wilder's Billionaire Baby Club which will leave you clutching your stomach and laughing at the silliness of the characters in its wake.
Lizzy, a real estate agent, has just turned 40. She has a successful career, a great lifestyle and life-saving Friends. Drunk at her 40th birthday party, she realizes that she wants more in life...nothing matters if she doesn't have love... and she drunkenly decides to have a baby...without the commitment of a relationship...easy peezy!
The next day, with her hangover, comes a call...a man asking about her ad, finding a baby daddy with no strings attached...HER FRIENDS REALLY DID IT!!!!😂😂🤣
She decides to go with the flow...only if she can find the right guy and she did...Braun. A gorgeous, charming guy who attracts her like no one else.
What they never contemplated was the chemistry and how right they are for each other. Now, only time will tell if this will stay just a business transaction or will it blossom into more...

This book was an overload of laughter and feelings...the background of both the characters was different yet traumatic...they have been both hurts in the past which is why they end up commitment phobic.
I like the fact that there was a friendship that established before romance...just gives you a warn feeling in heart.
jasinda wilder is a very talented versatile author...first, she made cry ugly with The Cabin and now i was gasping with laughter here...truly amazing!!!
I cant wait to see what she will dish out next...i hope its one of Lizzy's friend's story...fingers crossed.

Overall Grade: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 1/2

Jasinda Wilder’s newest rom-com, Lizzy Goes Brains Over Braun, is touted as a combination of Sex in the City meets Selling Sunset. And that is no lie. The elements that you love about Sex in the City, female friendships and over-the-top love connections, find purchase in Wilder’s newest book. Add in the selling of extravagant homes and the connections between those who are selling them, and you find this complicated story about finding love when you least expect it…or want it.

Lizzy Goes Brains over Braun is book one of Wilder’s The Billionaire’s Baby Club. It follows six real estate agents and best friends who live and love in Malibu. Each of them is single, but not wanting anything more than temporary connections. Elizabeth “Lizzy” is the most reticent at relationships. She turns 40 and her friends take her out to celebrate. Along the way, after drinking some tequila and margaritas, it’s divulged that Lizzy might want a baby. With relationships off the table, she and her friend group inebriatedly joke about placing an ad looking for a billionaire to impregnate her. A day or two later, Lizzy receives a call, realizing quickly that her friends did just that: placed an ad for her. Confronted with this, Lizzy begins to think that she really does want a baby, but only if the right man answers her ad. Thankfully, that happens. What occurs after that is nothing Lizzy expects and exactly what she needs. Will Lizzy get her baby and find her happy ending? That is a question you’ll have to find out after reading Wilder’s quick-written, funny romance.

To be very clear, this story isn’t a traditional love story in the framework of romancelandia. Yes, there is a happy ending, but it comes about in ways that challenge readers about our perceived notions about happy endings. I loved the way that Wilder navigates a situation-ship between two people who are drawn to each other but don’t really know each other. It creates this strange energy in the story that, quite honestly, intrigues me. If you’re looking for an overtly sappy romance, that isn’t here.

The true love story in Lizzy Goes Brains Over Braun isn’t between Lizzy and Braun. In fact, Braun is drawn as a fairly flat character. Wilder doesn’t give him a point of view, and we gain bits and pieces of his life as their story progresses. Wilder crafts him as an impetus for change in Lizzy’s life. The love story, then, resides with the women of this book. Quite frankly, that is my favorite part of LGBOB and I imagine the extended series. It is also where the feminism of this book lies. The six friends are everything you usually find inspected in the scope of a hero and heroine in romances: confidantes (although Lizzy challenges that identity quite a bit in this story), spurners of change, emotional support, wisdom-givers, and challengers to thinking. The depth of emotion in this story is most impactful with these women as they challenge and help Lizzy to break out of her carefully crafted life. It makes for this book that feels women-positive. It also creates these impeccable moments of humor through the witticisms and candor of this group of women. If you read this book for anything, it is the binding power of this group of women as they navigate their lives together.

As always, Wilder’s ability to create characters that engage you exists in Lizzy Goes Brains Over Braun. The difficulty, however, with this book is making her heroine likable. I have to be honest; I struggled with Lizzy for much of the story. Once you read this book, you can understand her choices, but she makes it difficult to read. Even more, Wilder must humanize her to get to her ending, but it leaves you with some issues related to believability in Lizzy’s change of heart. For me, that was the challenge of this book. Thankfully, Wilder weaves in the other women to this story who provide the humanity and hilarity necessary to make Lizzy more personable. This feels deftly strategic for Wilder because, without it, I’m not sure that you could find yourself invested in her story.

There is really so much to love about Lizzy Goes Brains over Braun. It’s incredibly steamy, sassy, and sentimental. It has one of the $exiest, romantic moments in its epilogue. If you’re looking for a fun read, run and grab this book. You’ll remember why women run the world.

P.S. I can’t say enough how much I adore Wilder’s writing style. There is something special in her prose and style choices. If you read her just for that, you’ve won.

It was cheesy at times, especially listening to it on audio. Some of the phrases and the way they were said during certain scenes just made my eyes roll. But overall, a good story. I did get angry at Lizzy at times. I wanted to scream at her to just tell him how you feel and why so it's out in the open and go from there!!!

Lizzy is a broker of her own real estate firm, and her 5 best friends all work for her. On her 40th birthday, they joked about getting a billionaire to impregnate her and walk away as she didn't want a relationship but wanted a baby. Unbeknownst to her, her friends took out the ad and gave her real phone number. It worked. At first, a too old man called. Then Braun called and she was intrigued. It was sparks and fireworks from the time they met, but she would not give in. She refused to feel anything but lust. Lots of graphic spicy times, so if that's not your thing, move on past.

There was two mistakes in the book/audio. The first was when she was a hotel with Braun, and she calls her friend. At first, she said he was ordering room service, then she said he's gone to get takeout, then back to room service. The second has to do with the actual audiobook. I got my copy from Hoopla, so I don't know if all of the versions are like this, but there is a few skips close to the end of a chapter. I believe it happens just before Portugal. There are 2 or 3 skips. I don't think it misses much, but just know they are there.

I love Jasinda Wilder. She's one of my go-to authors. When I get asked what's my top 5 fave book of all time her book, Falling Into You is in that list.

I can't believe this book came out right after The Cabin. I know they're not in the same series but... I don't know. This book was super slow burn. There's no other way to say it, but I got bored for most of it except the part when she already met Braun. From that point forward, it picked up. But even that didn't do much. Like 3/4 of the whole book is spent talking with her girlfriends... I almost didn't finish it. This is such a departure from Falling Into You and The Cabin. Nothing wrong with departures or it being different but there was just too much dialogue between the heroine and her girlfriends. It's probably just me, but yes, this is how I felt towards the book. I was looking forward to the love story but there's probably only like 20%-30% of it.

And the love story was fast paced... it was swoony but still too fast paced for me.

*sigh*

The chemistry in this story is intense. Their passion for one another is overwhelming in the best way. Lizzy has never had a real relationship and she has no plans for one ever. Things are getting complicated because feelings were never part of the contract and she's digging her heels in.

I loved both characters so much. Braun is totally a book boyfriend and so swoony. The man is a total catch. Lizzy is a BOSS! She has always thought she would be alone because she was afraid of being hurt. At times I wanted to strangle her as she battled with herself. The emotions in this book are so instense. Both Characters are relatable and fun. I really enjoyed them both!

I loved it! Such a fun and steamy read! It's different than what I have read in the past from Jasinda Wilder, but good different. She still delivers the steam she is known for but now with a fun and light-hearted feel. Lizzy Goes Brains Over Braun takes you on a journey with a group of friends/coworkers that are serial daters, but they wonder if something is missing. I really enjoyed reading about these girls and look forward to reading more.

I have to say while I didn’t read this book in a setting or two once I get to the second 1/2 of the book - I could t put it down. I was in love with the story. Wilder did a story I hadn’t read before and it was super fun and easy and romantic. What else is better than getting lost in a book at 3am in the morning??

I'm finally done with this book, it took a lot of skipping.
I'm sure the author must've had handy a dictionary of Synonyms. In one single chapter there was a lot of 'gasping, sweating, shaking', 'strain, twinge, ache', 'brushing, rubbing, flicking', apparently it's necessary to use a lot of unnecessary verbs to make a scene "hotter". I was reading the "sexy" parts and I was bored. Oh and 'sweating, panting, gasping, in agony' that's the labor part, pretty much the same verbs 'cause it'sthe same thing, right?

Also I was extremely uncomfortable with Laurel's confession about abusing a sleeping guy, if that scene were in reverse roles it would have been described as rape, because that what it was, just because it's explained that the guy wakes later and ask her to keep going, it doesn't make it ok. That and the constant use of the word bitch to call your friends "affectionately" was a big NO for me.

The "heroine" couldn't care less about actually having a baby, it would have been better to just describe the search like auditions for fuckbuddies. It even came as a surprise when she realized she's pregnant, like 'did I eat something bad?'. And we never actually found out why the "hero" responded to the ad.

And finally, we know the characters have money, why does the author felf neccessary to waste a lot, and I mean a lot, of the book describing the things each one possess. 'They both kept their old car', yeah, that makes you low maintenance.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Yikes. It's coherent I'll give it that, but the constant "not like other girls" vibe it gives off is cringey at best. It tries too hard to be 'different' or clever and ended up making the women main characters unlikable (nearly unbearable). Which, at least for me, made the sex scenes... eh? Or maybe it was the use of phrases like nether muscles or buckets of cum.

Also not a fan of how Lizzy and Braun only make up because Teddy gets involved to make them.

For a book about a woman that wants to get pregnant, it seems odd that it treats her pregnancy like an accessory. She's 40, a geriatric high risk pregnancy(so more doc appts, more info given) but somehow she's in labor and doesn't even know what afterbirth is? Is she just a moron or wildly irresponsible?

Lizzy Goes Brains over Braun is the newest series by Jasinda Wilder, and it was a light hearted and fun romantic start. Luxury real estate agent Lizzy Stephenson is turning 40 and reevaluating her priorities, self reflecting and realizes that she does want to have a baby without the complications of a relationship. After jokingly talking to her friends about seeking a man to procreate with, they take it a step further by placing an ad for such a man in the newspaper for her. Braun, the sweet computer programmer nerd who Longbottomed late in high school contacts Lizzy wondering whether this was a joke or not. The joke's on both of them because neither were ready for the attraction or the easy connection between them.

Lizzy is self sufficient, wealthy, hardworking, a nurturer, though hesitant to pursue a relationship because she's always kept men at arm's length. Though her lifestyle may not be relatable to the everyday average woman, the biological clock ticking may resonate with many. I love that she has such a strong female tribe around her, and that they are invested in her happiness and want her to find someone special. They recognize the need in her to nurture and care for others, to be prepared and never fail. But in her desire to do all that, she's never put herself out here to find true happiness. When Braun comes along and pursues Lizzy, her fears prevent them from developing their relationship to something more than the physical, although that obvious attraction contributes to their romance developing. Braun is such a great hero; he's sweet, patient, and so unassuming, and he wholeheartedly pursues Lizzy because he just likes her as a person. He loves that she is independent and has her own life, enjoys spending time with her, appreciates that she wants to care and take care of him, and that she's not after him for his money. Most of all, I love that Braun is so patient and accepting of Lizzy and her desires and independence, though he definitely should've worked a little bit harder to push Lizzy's walls down. Since the focus is on the women of the series here, I get why the book is from Lizzy's point of view, but still would've liked to read from Braun's perspective (or more about what he is thinking or feeling) since he was such a great character. He seems like a well adjusted and caring guy, so I do wonder why, despite the contract, he doesn't make more of an effort to pursue the relationship with Lizzy and to be a part of the baby's life. I love the buildup towards the romance, but do wish the ending was a little more detailed, especially about Lizzy's feelings during her pregnancy and how that time influences what she feels about Braun. Overall, a light, sweet romantic comedy that centers on strong women, has great banter and engaging writing, and I can't wait to read more from this series!

When Lizzy's friends put her phone number in the ad they laughingly made up during a girls' night, it brings about a change in her life in the form of a gorgeous, sweet man named Braun. The ad was simple in its text, and it was supposed to be a simple way to get Lizzy a baby with no strings required from the man. What really happens, though, is of course quite the opposite, as life cannot be directed with such a strict hand the way Lizzy wants.

Lizzy Goes Brains Over Braun is a cute, sweet, rollicking start to a new series. I loved how fun and Lizzy and her friends were, but most of all, I loved Braun. God, talk about swoony! I may have gotten more than a bit irritated with Lizzy's hot and cold act with Braun, and for not allowing herself to be happy, but Braun being the sweetheart he was more than made up for any of Lizzy's ridiculousness. I really liked this fun story - can't wait for Holly and Seven's story next.

In ‘Lizzy Goes Brains Over Braun’ we meet successful business woman Lizzy. Lizzy is celebrating her fortieth birthday with her best friends, and colleagues at a bar. There is a lot of alcohol going around, and Lizzy and her friends have the best night. But becoming forty also makes you think about your life and the things you achieved. And Lizzy realizes she really would like to become a mom, but without the complication of being in a relationship. What Lizzy didn’t think would happen was that one of her friends actually would post an ad in a newspaper: ‘Beautiful, successful single woman, 40, seeks attractive male billionaire to impregnate her the old fashioned way. No strings. NOT seeking sugar daddy. Validation required. Serious inquiries only, please.’ But when a guy named Braun replies to the ad, she finds herself curious about him.

Well, this book was definitely not what I expected. Although I don’t really know what I expected to be honest. This book is definitely ‘fun’, in the way Lizzy interacts with her friends. Their banters and bar adventures are definitely funny and it makes you want to have friends like that too. But there is also a lot of sex in this book. A lot of talk about sex, and a lot of actual sex. And I didn’t expect that, and in the first half of the book I honestly thought there was way too much sex for my liking. I missed the romance, and the ‘storyline’ to be honest.

But, when I got half way through the book.. the story developed and Lizzy became a much more likeable character for me, and there was more romance. And I really started to enjoy this story more and more. Their also wasn’t as much detailed sex as in the beginning, which I liked way more.

And well.. Braun’s character made up for a lot if you ask me. I loved him. Braun was this rich, geeky guy who definitely was way to kind. And, hold your breath, he speaks LOTR elvish (among many other languages!). Yes.. my geek heart was definitely in love with this guy.

Although the whole idea of an ad to which billionaires respond to, sounds a little crazy to me, it made for a funny story. In the end I read this book in two evenings, so I definitely can say I enjoyed it. And it made me curious about Lizzy’s friends for sure. And.. I love this cover!!

Lizzy Goes Brains over Braun is a new age romance story. "Older" woman so wrapped up in working and keeping her business going that she forgets that maybe she wants a family. Minus the husband part. While hanging out with her friends Lizzy starts talking about how she might have missed her time of becoming a mother, but even if she hasn't she has no time for romance and a husband. So being funny her friends take out an ad in the newspaper.

In comes Braun. Braun is a nerdy wonderfully written character. I actually liked Braun at times more than Lizzy. He is quirky and fun to read when you want to smack Lizzy for her choices. While reading this story I don't see Braun wanting a family, or Lizzy at any time until later on. That part was enjoyable. It was nice to read a book that had two grown adults enjoying their lives, sex, and conversation. Each knew what they wanted and had no hidden agenda. But while they were getting to know each other emotions did come to the surface.

Jasinda wrote a great story and I can't wait to see what is next.

My Thoughts:
A fun story and probably one of the more unique novels I’ve read within the genre.

This is my first book by Jasinda and she definitely has taken the billionaire trope to a whole new level one you are going to LOVE. Instead of JUST focusing on the romantic aspects of the story which are more than amazing, she focuses on women’s wants and needs.

We meet Lizzy and she's in her 40ths; she is going after what she wants and takes it and is refreshing to read that a character does this without hesitation and more at that age since that helps you to connect with the character as it encourages you to go for what you want no matter what.

Lizzy is one fierce heroine that makes you feel comfortable about the decisions you are taking and that you shouldn't care about the "biological clock" do things at your pace and when they feel right to you.

Overall, I love this book for its realness, for both the humor and emotion it evokes, for the amazing heroine it has, and the clever writing.

It’s like a breath of fresh air when I read a book with characters 40 and over. They’re independent, established in their careers, and know exactly what they want. Lizzy Stephenson built her business up with her five friends. They’re crass, real, and fun. They know what friendship and sisterhood are and they know exactly what Lizzy needs. Even if it meant something g unconventional like an ad in the paper for some good old-fashioned baby making.

Lizzy and Braun had a connection from their first conversation. So I had a feeling that things were going to get messy and someone was going to catch feelings. This was just the book I needed to escape the rollercoaster ride of life... even if just for a bit. This was my first Jasinda Wilder book and I’m questioning why it took me so long to find her.

I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.

I laughed so hard. This book was so incredibly funny. But this book was also about change. Learning to accept your past, but not let it define you. Learning to love and trust when everything inside you screams not to. Learning to change your life for the better and realizing your everyday normal isn't as perfect as you thought. I found my emotions changing throughout at a rapid pace. This book will definitely keep you on your toes. It's exciting, fast paced and concludes with a wonderful HEA. Not the style of writing I expected from this author, but it was so exceptionally good I cannot wait for the next installment in this series. Simply put...one helluva read. Remember if you want to read a book you can't put down, you have to pick it up first.

Another great story by Jasinda Wilder. Her books are never the same, so you never know what you are going to get. I loved that this book had comedy, a great group of girl friends and a lot of steamy romance. The story begins with Lizzy and her group of friends celebrating her 40th birthday. The girls have lots of drinks and decide half jokingly and half serious to place an ad in the newspaper to help Lizzy find a man to get her pregnant. As a result, she meets Braun when he answers the ad. Braun is the perfect man and Lizzy soon feels like the no strings attached deal they agreed on is a mistake. Lizzy is scared to fall in love because of what her parents divorce did to her mentally as a child, so she pushes Braun out of her life once she finds herself pregnant. I won’t give any more away, but this was a very enjoyable read and I can’t wait to see more of the stories upcoming of Lizzy’s friends.

I love this story soooooo much. I am so very excited for this new series! I started reading and I told myself I would read a few chapters..good luck with that lol..I read it all in one go..
I love Lizzy and the gang..they are all hilarious, smart and well off women, they are happy with their lives..or so it seems..until Lizzy’s birthday and the drunk confessions.
I loved everything about this story. The whole concept of the series, the storyline, all the characters.
It's entertaining, engaging, hot and fun, but it also has great messages sprinkled in.
I, for one, am very very happy to have lead characters that are in their late thirties early forties.
Let's not even talk about Braun..the man is magical ;) and so sweet..Lord,I swooned a lot.
I can’t wait for Autum's story!!!!

The trial and tribulations of turning 40 made this a heartfelt, swoony and super fun read.
Lizzie is an independent, fairly successful woman and when that special numbered bday was upon her, all she can think about is that something is missing...
That thing that all girls dream about when they’re young and full of fantasy dreams. So, when she goes on a special search she meets the most unlikely character Braun.
Well written and full of passion and humor this story was a funny lighthearted story that helped put certain things in life into proper perspective.
Loved these characters, their chemistry and their banter.
I can’t wait to see what’s next!

So we have a group of women smart woman who do not men, they live how they want, but now the clock is ticking and they are deciding that may want more since they are hitting 40 so Lizzy wants a baby but she doesn't want a man after just to complete the deed. Sooo she puts an add in the paper with not strings attached I mean who would really answer that, well someone does and whooooeee these two do not expect each other. It has its funny moments but I found it more serious than I expected it...
