The dead have awakened. The world is ending. This is day six.
The group of survivors head for the Faroe Islands in the hopes of reaching safety. But their journey won't be easy, as the dead are following them every step of the way, and not everyone is destined to make it.The infection now covers most of mainland Europe, edging still closer to becoming a worldwide pandemic ...
I write stories about the apocalypse so that I don't need to work a real job. I grew up reading Stephen King and still haven't fully recovered. I'm currently ending the world in my new series Under the Breaking Sky.

The Dead Meat series reads like current events…except for the walking dead.
The virus is spreading and, even though, I was immediately drawn to some of the new characters in Dead Meat 6 by Nick Clausen, I knew not all of them would survive. Everything happens over the course of one day. Each story in the series leads to the next, so I highly recommend reading in order.
As usual, Dead Meat grabbed me from the beginning and never let me go.
Gory, grisly horror, but amongst the dark some light shines in the people who sacrifice their lives to save others. Some wonderful characters are still alive, fighting for survival. All the good and bad humanity has to offer comes forth in this novel of terror and horror. Some show courage and grace, others show the despicable side of us humans.
Unputdownable. Want to be grossed out? Want to fret and worry about characters and have to know what happens next? This series is for you.
And Dan…he carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. He’s just a boy, but quickly grows up to meet what fate has in store for him. He shows great courage.
WOW! The suspense level is off the charts, the characters fabulous, even the not so good ones. I love watching the rag tag groups grow, change and learn to do whatever must be done…against all odds.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Dead Meat 6 by Nick Clausen.
The zombie infection has spread well beyond Denmark and into neighboring countries. Will, Dan, and their companions seek shelter among the Faroe Islands. But to reach the islands they will have to refuel the helicopter. What awaits them when they land to refuel will put all their hard-earned skills to the test. And not everyone will make it out alive.
With Dead Meat Day 6 there are still new characters being introduced. However, now that the core group has been established, there is a downturn in just how many secondary characters are brought into the fold. There is a delicate balance to maintain, between the survival of the main characters, and showing the progression of infection with a secondary storyline. Nick Clausen does a great job switching between the two. Readers are kept on the edge with clever cliffhangers and emotionally impactful moments.
There are many strong personalities present throughout this series. And despite the harsh reality of the zombie apocalypse, there are still people refusing to believe the truth. Hope is a deadly desire as people hide any evidence of scratches and bites. Each mistake made is another string of infections waiting to happen. Entire societies are breaking down and turning to chaos. While the dead are an ever-present threat, the threat of humanity turning in on itself is growing.
There is so much packed into each Dead Meat book. They never fail to surprise me with the twists and turns thrown at the characters. Dead Meat Day 6 was as fast-paced and action-heavy as the rest of the series. This dark read is sure to hook readers who enjoy survival stories.
In Day 6 of the Dead Meat series by Nick Clausen, the zombie outbreak continues to spread. This time, across the sea.
In the first chapter, a boat has landed in Great Britain and while the police were called quickly, it was already too late…
Full disclosure: I was given a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This did not affect my rating in any way. I also purchased myself a copy.
While things continue to fall apart, we follow our main groups that are either the mother and son that continue to deal with their situation in the safe house, or the two groups that are trying to find safety. While one situation is resolved for now, things are still very tense for the others.
Just like the others in this series, this one had my blood pumping! I was so nervous for all of the characters that we have been following. This is another entry where some make it, but unfortunately, some do not.
I grew up on a tiny island off the coast of Maine, so I really loved that the story went to an island as well! Especially with how we learned they were handling the outbreak for the good of the whole community at the start. That’s certainly not the case in other areas! This made me a bit homesick with the current COVID-19 pandemic and how crazy and awful people have been.
From the new characters, I loved Agnete! This woman is such a lovely character! I was so happy that a group that we have been following ran into her when they landed on an island. Just seeing how kind she is was so refreshing! Especially introducing her so soon after the angry and afraid man they had met first when arriving…
I read this one while we are still deep in the pandemic with COVID-19 here in the US, and again, reading about many things happening in this story line up with the current state of affairs. It’s heartbreaking, but also terrifying!
The people that get bitten by a zombie and try to hide it show a lot of the same traits as the people refusing to follow simple guidelines in the real world today…
My Favorite Passages Like in previous books, my first favorite passage is from the copyright page: No zombies were harmed in the making of this book.
Then, just as Eli manages to get back up and is about to lunge at Dan’s father, William steps in from the side, holding onto the frame of the door and swinging his leg soccer-style, landing his foot squarely under Eli’s chin. Eli is thrown backwards out of the door and disappears. William leans forward and bellows out into the night: “Told you I’d kick you off the fucking helicopter, asshole!“
“I don’t know,” William says, shaking his head, looking out over the hilly landscape. “I’m starting to think, in a wold like this, where everything is turning to shit, doing the right thing may not be the right thing to do anymore.” Nasira shrugs. “Maybe you’re right. Or maybe this is the kind of world where doing the right thing matters the most.”
Dan shakes his head. “I didn’t watch that show.” William looks at him, dumbfounded. “Seriously? Dude, if Netflix survives the end of the world, we’re gonna watch Breaking Bad together.”
My Final Thoughts Day 6 was another killer entry in this series. I just finished reading it, and I already cannot wait to get my hands on Day 7 to see what happens next!
If you haven’t yet, I highly recommend beginning this series if you enjoy awesome zombie tales!
Dan, William, and the others have decided to head to the Faroe Islands, but their journey is rife with obstacles that will test their ragtag team of survivors. Can they band together efficiently to forge ahead, or will they crumble under the pressure?
This book was mainly divided between the perspectives of Dan/William and Iver. I loved each of these perspectives. Dan and William have been such vital characters in this series, and they continue to shine as their friendship is put to the test. I really loved the bromance they had throughout, and it really showcased their connection to one another.
Iver's POV surprised me. I believe in the last book he was more of a minor character, but his journey was just as entertaining as Dan & William's, if not more so in several spots.
It's so important that LGBT characters not only be included in fiction more, but also that they aren't portrayed in stereotypical ways. Clausen obviously has some mad respect for the LGBT community. Iver was 100% unique, had heart, and a winning personality that made me root for him every step of the way.
As always, there is tons of great action. The stakes grow higher in each book, and this one is no exception. I especially enjoyed a scene involving a helicopter, but I don't want to spoil anything so I'll just leave it at that. Last but not least, we finally get a glimpse of a potential end-game for this series. Right now it's just a glimmer of light at the far end of a zombie-filled void, but I think it was important that readers get that little bit of hope.
Can't wait to see what happens next for our brave survivors!
This series just keeps on getting better and better. :)
I love writing! Multiple points of view create tension and intensity, the way the story jumps around intensifies the pace, and the character just jumps from the pages.
Zombies are no longer just Denmark's problem. They are spreading to the neighboring countries and it seems like the situation is hopeless. I love the direction the story is going. :)
Also, the way people react to crises is scarily realistic, and very much in line with the current state of the world.
Another great installment in the series. Lots of scary zombie action and some nasty people making life harder for the survivors too. I love the new development that there might be an end to the horror. I can’t wait to read what happens next. As usual, my favorite characters are Dan, who is always thinking, William and his wonderful dog, Ozzy, and Birgit and her son Dennis.
Me siguen entreteniendo mucho estos libros, me gusta que cada libro es un día, que siga a mismos personajes desde el libro 0. Me gusta que pasan cosas que a pesar de saber cómo va la historia no me las esperaba .
The virus is still spreading and our characters are still doing their best to survive. I don't know which group has it worse right now, Dan and our original crew, or our ferry castaways hiding out on the island. Which, again, is just a terrible place to be during a zombie outbreak. I hope they are able to make it off the island somehow. I can't wait to see what happens next!
Title: Dead Meat Day 6 Author: Nick Clausen Rating: 4/5
Synopsis:
It’s day 6 of the zombie outbreak and the virus has now spread cross the sea causing nothing but chaos in its wake. The fight for survival is crucial and even the islands are no longer safe. The end of the world is now a reality as the virus continues to take over the world, country at a time.
Review: Day 5 left me hanging, Nick does a good job at leaving you wanting for more so I was excited to get stuck into day 6! I have honestly loved all the other days so far and I have to say that this cover is one of my favourites so far, I love the colour.
I have always been able to connect well with Nick’s writing style, so this along with the fact that things are really beginning to heat up in the series meant I could not wait to delve in. The outbreak has also now reached the UK which added to the excitement as it is now close to home, along with the current ongoing pandemic too this makes the read that much more believable. These short little instalments break down the events of the wide spread apocalypse meaning you can feel everything, the desperation and the panic.
Once again Nick does a fantastic job at setting the scene and the tone, you are literally thrown back into the story and back into the action. The read is pacey which is perfect for the story thanks to the short, snappy chapters. You can fly through this book but the only downfall is that you have to wait for your next instalment. However, if that was to be one book, I do not think it would be as effective.
We have plenty of action in this read but there are quite a few scenes that are quite emotional. In fact, compared to the other Day’s I feel Day 6 was the one that got me in my feelings the most. It didn’t feel as action packed at the rest but you could feel every word instead.
The multiple points of views are easy to follow and I feel increases the intensity of these books. You can imagine all the writing by Nick, especially how people would react in this situation, you can understand the reactions and it is believable. The characters are all strong characters but unique in their own way, every one of there stories interests you. However, for obvious reasons I am now wary of getting attached to anyone because I don’t think Nick will hold back as the virus spreads. Once again, you are left wanting and needing more, I am excited for the next instalment!
Day 6 by Nick Clausen continues his zombie apocalypse series with the characters that we have been following from the beginning and adding in a few new ones from Day 5 as the zombie plague continues to sweep the world a country at a time. From Dennis and his mother tucked away in Holger’s bunker, to Dan and the group that he’s with as they fight to survive and escape one country in the hopes of finding a safe haven in another. Get ready for lots of tense drama, and more danger to come. Day 6 is a gripping addition to this zombie apocalypse day by day flesh eating series. I can’t get enough of it. Each book is a day, but it feels like a week with so much stuffed into it, but I love it. We get so many different perspectives from different characters. The danger is real for them as they learn with each step that they take that the zombie “plague” is spreading everywhere they try to run to. One group of survivors finds safety, but it’s only for a moment before it is ripped away. Dan, Nasira and their group find themselves in a nasty situation based on a lie, and the heartbreak of loss won’t be far behind. This series is probably one of my favorite apocalypse style books as it answers the question…what happens on a day by day basis? What do they face? Can zombies “swim”? LOL! Who all was there when all of this began as it stemmed from a tragic loss of a young life? I applaud the author for putting so much thought and research into this book as well. There is a nice little afterword at the end, a note from the author, explaining a few things about this particular book and why it is beginning to differ in places from the previous. I found it truly enlightening, and informative. I can’t wait to read what happens next in Day 7. I am rating this installment 5 out of 5 stars. We get the danger, the fear, the drama and more with this book and I’m eager for more. Which will come first? Salvation? Or the end?
It's Day 6 and the "virus" spreads throughout Europe. Things get tougher every day and our group has to make difficult choices to get through, but not all of them make it. Finding a safe place to stay gets more and more difficult and getting there is even more complicated. On Day 6 we accompany our typical group on their flight with the helicopter as well as the people in Holgers house, but we also follow the guys who fled from the ferry. I love how the storylines alternate, cause we get to see how things go down at different places. We follow many people but all of them seem to have a place in the story and that makes the series so good! I enjoy reading this series more and more with every book cause it never gets boring, it rather gets more interesting. I'm super excited to see how the story continues!

Seriously this series is amazing. I love that we get several stories going on from different areas. We find out what happens with Dennis and his mom. Remember Iven and the baby, well they made it to an island. However, we learn that the virus is spreading fast and it seems that it has not crossed the waters. One thing that I did not realize until the author addressed it was the lack of guns. Which I seem to think that it was due to the fact that most of the characters were kids. So they were pretty resourceful. I cannot wait to find out if Dan makes it to Holgers' place and what he plans to do from there. How will this all end? Well as you know we are left with a cliffhanger so now we wait for the next book. I cannot wait so excited about this series.
This is the next book in the Dead Meat series from Danish author Nick Clausen. It is a gritty, hyper-realistic story that gives a day-by-day account of the zombie apocalypse.
In this volume, the zombie contagion continues its spread into Norway, Poland, Belgium and the Netherlands. Teenager Dan has emerged as the ‘main’ character, though there continue to be several others the narrative follows. Dan has an epiphany and decides he needs to go back to his hometown in Denmark where the outbreak began in an attempt to reverse it.
I gave Dead Meat – Day 6 five stars on Goodreads. While there was not a lot of earth-shaking developments in this one, if does mark a potential turning point in the series.

This is an enjoyable and easy to read zombie series that has interesting characters, a defined ending, and helps the reader understand the role of hope and faith in overcoming disaster. There’s good development throughout the book series and the characters are multi dimensional. The story seems to lag occasionally and, binge reading it as I did, find some of the scenes to be repetitive. However overall I really enjoyed the series and I’m happy I picked up the multiple compilation.
A good part of Europe is now infected with the Dead. It seems like a plan is finally in the works... kind of. One thing I like about these books are there not all about guns blazing and shooting in the head like it would be if set in the states where there are more guns than people. Being set abroad makes it more realistic and harder for the characters to defend themselves. On to the next day...
I'm in it til the end but now I'm wondering where it's going? I'm also wondering how Dan and William will make out. Where's the characters on the helicopter going now? Will they meet up with Iver and them. Poor Iver . Will he make it? I definitely have to read on to see what happens next. I Need answers.
Great Series A new spin on Zombie Genre I love how each book is a new day in the Zombie Apocalypse Its a new and refreshing spin on Zombie books Dennis is a character I'm looking forward to and excited see how he evolves and I hope he continues to grow in confidence and becomes more independent of his controlling crazy mother

Another thrilling installment with plenty of twists and turns. New characters and old and some that fall by the wayside - all with well-developed motivations and personalities (love 'em or hate 'em). The zombie menace is spreading globally now and still plenty of people being realistically stupid or realistically selfless. I'm really liking the spiritual premise that underlies the zombies.
This book started out right where the last left off and I didn't hate it but it's the first one in the series to actually piss me off. It also dragged on a bit longer than the others and I found it kind of a struggle to get through. I kept falling asleep to this one. It's not awful. There are some important things happening but yeah, they've made me quite angry.
After volume 3, I believed that this series wasn't going to be as good as Nick Clausen's other apocalyptic zombie series. But since volume 4, it has picked up speed, and this one took us further into the middle of the end of the world, with many of our regular characters still fighting to stay alive.
I have to believe that there is a book 7 coming!? Each character had a strong personality and so very different! We must see Dan and William save the world and continue watching Dennis become braver and stronger! c'mon man :)
Day 6 by Nick Clausen. Book 6 of the dead meat series. A brilliant read. I love this series. It just gets better and better. Nick certainly knows how to keep you hooked on a book. Can't wait for book 7. 5*.
Gave 4.5 stars because there were a couple of word mistakes (example of one is the wrong person's name was used and this did cause me to reread the sentence). Good storyline that had me tearing up and ending with me wanting to read the next book.
Nick Clausen and his new take on the Zombie Apocalypse. From the beginning, childhood innocence is stolen, youth is corrupted and lives are lost. I am hooked on this series and can't wait to see what Dan, William and Lazy get up to.
