What began as a genealogy research trip for Miami attorney Snow Wyatt becomes so much more when she arrives in Alaska and encounters a living, breathing mountain man. In short order, everything she thought she wanted melts away and she has to decide what her priorities in life truly are.
Nick Kringle lives a solitary life in his cabin, miles from town and other humans, and that’s the way he wants it—just a man and his dog. When a gorgeous lawyer shows up in nearby Fairbanks and shows interest in him and his cabin, he agrees to give her a tour, which becomes complicated by an ill-timed snowstorm.
Can Snow stop herself from falling for a man so very different from herself? And more importantly, does she really want to?
Living in the Pacific Northwest, Alexis Adaire spends too much time indoors, cuddling under blankets, emerging from the bedroom periodically to refill her coffee mug and write stories.
Alexis likes to take her readers to those secret, unspeakable corners of their fantasies they barely even knew existed.
I love this story. Sure, there's plenty of insta-lust turned love and the characters are fantastic but what I really love is how the story played out. I won't give it away but there's a realistic quality that makes the ending even sweeter.
I will say that they each have evil mothers. Hahaha! It was cruel of them to give their kids laughable names - Snow Wyatt and Christopher "Nick" Kringle. I'm hoping it was caused by really good medicine during delivery may have encouraged that brand of crazy. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Sometimes what you want is not what you really need and hopefully you realize it before it is to late
Falling Snow by Alexis Adaire is part of the multi-author A Mountain Man Holiday series. This is a delightful, witty and just plain fun short story with enough sizzling passion to keep you warn during a snowstorm. The story is about Snow Wyatt and Christopher Nicholas Kringle, aka Nick. I kid you now it is Snow and Nick....let the Disney music start to play please. Snow is thirty years old and is in Fairbanks, Alaska to do some research on her family tree, specifically her great-grandfather. She is a long way from her home of Miami, Florida where she is an intellectual property attorney. While she is there things are a bit different from what she is used to and that is not even talking about the snow and cold. Nick is thirty-two years old and is a toy maker. He lives outside of Fairbanks in a cabin his grandfather built originally. The closest neighbor is about five miles away and he likes it that way. In his workshop she makes hand made wooden toys that he sells exclusively online but also gives a lot to the Fairbanks Christmas Toy Drive celebration to be given by Santa to younger kids. Nick lives a simple like with his dog Coltrane but he is not a "simple" man. Nope he is a degree from Stanford and he loves jazz music. When Snow goes to the toy drive she catches Nick's eye from across the large room. He does not recognize her and he knows that he wants to get to know her. So he makes a beeline for her and after talking for a few he asks Snow to have a drink with him after the party. They end up at a bar down the street, after taking a ride on his snowmobile. Before long though they end up back at his house, as she said she wanted to see it. So one Uber ride later and she is meeting Coltrane. As they talk into the night and the snow is coming down hard Snow discovers that she cannot get back into town as there is no Uber service because of the roads. So she has to stay overnight in the guest room. But on the bright side she does get a wonderful breakfast in the morning made by Nick. Well that and a night that ends up with her sneaking into Nick's bedroom when she cannot sleep. Let's just say that they share a lot more than body heat. But there is a time limit to this new romance as Snow's life is in Miami and Nick's in in Alaska.....or maybe not in the end? But that is something you will have to read for yourself.
This is a nicely written and very fun and entertaining story. The story-line is well developed, as are the characters. I loved not only Nick and Snow but the secondary characters are funny and add to the "flavor" of Snow's time in Fairbanks. The ending is beautiful and poignant and will make your eyes get a little watery. I really loved this book and would RECOMMEND it to other readers.
Snow Wyatt, a Miami attorney, hurried into the Fairbanks Inn before she froze to death! Not having eaten all day, she comes down to ask about restaurants, but nothing is open on Sunday except the Igloo Ice House which has bar food. She steps onto the sidewalk into a foot of snow! One of the guys at the bar asked what she’s doing here since it was obvious she was not a local. She told him her great-grandfather was from the area so she came to do some genealogical research. Summer would have been a smarter choice, but this was the only time she could take off work. Asking her new buddies how far the North Pole was, they suggested she visit their real-life Santa who lived just a few miles out of town in a cabin out in the middle of nowhere. He spends his time hand-carving toys to give to kids at Christmas every year, so they all call him Saint Nick, especially because his name really is Nick.
Spending time in the library, the internet slowing down her research as it locked up, Snow got to know the librarian who told her to come to the Toy Drive where she could meet Nick. He had a soft voice and kind eyes, and she had never met a man like him. She actually asked if she could see his cabin that evening, so he got them an Uber so she wouldn’t freeze on his snowmobile. His cabin was actually pretty large and decorated with white lights. And the snow was coming down fast. By the time Snow was ready to leave, the Uber service was shut down due to the snowstorm, and it even looked bad enough now that he shouldn’t try to drive his truck in it. With a guest room available, though, he offered to let her stay overnight.
The remainder of Snow’s time there was heavenly. She was happy, relaxed, and on the last day, she realized she may also be falling in love. She had to get back to Miami. She could hardly hold back the tears, as even his sweet dog Coltrane nuzzled her. Before she walks through the airport doors, he asks her to move in with him. He knows what they have is special and he knows they are meant to be. But she can’t give up her dream of being partner… can she? She turns and runs through the door. Can she live with her decision? Is that really where she wants to be anymore? With her heart breaking, she needs to figure it out for herself.
This was a perfect story with dialog and interaction that keeps the reader chuckling and hoping that the two of them fall in love. Grab your copy and see if Snow can stay away from the kind, generous kid-loving man who offers her his heart. Will she figure out that no stressful job is worth losing the man who loves her… the one she loves back just as much?

In this book we meet Snow Wyatt and Nick Kringle. Snow has come to find out about her family history. She took 2 weeks off from work to go on this journey. So she goes to Alaska and while there hears about a man named Nick who makes toys and brings them to town for kids. She isn't sure she believes all these guys are telling her but decides to check it out for herself at the toy drive that night. One look at Nick has her wanting to do a whole lot more than look at him from across the room. Nick finds the night that he brings the toys into town for kids the best night of the year. He knows his toys are for younger kids since the older ones always want electronics. When he gets a glimpse of a woman he has never seen in town before he wants to know more. More leads to him wanting to keep her but he knows she is about to move to another town to continue her journey. Can these two find the HEA they didn't know they were looking for or will the distance make any type of future impossible?
This is an amazing short story by this author. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this story will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Well, this was a lovely, cheesy, fast and steamy read. It is a short read at only 56 pages long, but the author gives us everything we need. There is a full-blown story, character development and lots and lots of sexy naked time with a mountain man! I was worried whilst reading it, how they would be able to achieve the happy ever after. Snow and Nick live entirely different lives at opposite ends of the country. However, all is revealed, and it’s a natural progression and didn’t feel forced. Snow did have a bit of an obsession with Nick’s eligibility, so she did come across as a bit of a gold digger, but this is the only tiny negative I can find with the book. This has been my favourite so far of the FlirtClub Mountain Men books. You could really feel the passion between the couple coming off the page, and it was a great short story to read.

FALLING SNOW is a novella that shows once again how well Alexis Adaire can tell an engaging story without leaving the reader feeling it was rushed or anything was left out.
I have been reading a lot of Mountain Man stories set in Alaska lately so the cold and isolation is an important element of the story. This story has clever names as a play on the holidays: Nick Kringle and Snow Wyatt.
The story has the right amount of steam. You will like Nick’s humble, quiet demeanor. Snow is also a great character because she has to evaluate her live in Miami. Best of all, she complain incessantly about the cold.
You will enjoy this quick holiday novella.

Alexis Adaire's Mountain Man Holiday short story (a wonderful new multi-author series by the Flirt Club) entitled Falling Snow, is a beautiful, sweet and steamy Christmas romance. Nick and Snow have such electrifying chemistry. This is instalove at its best - two engaging, refreshing characters, who find their way to one another by shear happenstance. There is no drama, only a steamy romance, and Nick and Snow heat things up enough to keep you toasty on a cold winter's night. (And an honourary mention to Coltrane for being such an awesome supporting character.)

This was a really sweet book. Snow and Nick were great together. These two were drawn together even though they are from different worlds. Even though this is a short book it does not feel rush; it feels as though its a slow burn full of longing. I thought that this was a fantastic book. I thought that Snow and Nick were perfect for each other and I thought that their HEA was perfect for them. I would recommend this book and Ms. Alexis as an amazing author.

She was looking for answers to her family tree, he was fine on his own. Neither expected the snow to warm things up. Will she want to stay?
I loved how both these characters weren't about drama and there were no outside circumstances that really tried to rip them apart. I didn't blame her for being iffy, but loved how in the end she made the decision to make herself happy. I loved how he was who he was and that he didn't rush her, but let her come to the same conclusion on her own. Steamy read!

Snow Wyatt (play on Snow White) is in Alaska to do family tree research. She's originally from Florida, and the weather isn't exactly playing nice. Nick Kringle is a mountain recluse who carves wooden toys. She meets him at the toy drive and ends up in his house that night. They get snowed that night, but she does eventually have to go home. Who will break first?
Quick, fast-paced read with a bit of steam thrown in.
Snow Wyatt is researching her family history in Alaska where she meets gentle soul Nick Kringle. The connection is immediate and sizzling with these characters, love the easy rapport not to mention the steamy time in the bedroom. I enjoyed this short novella, glad that the ending was fitting with the realization of living a stress free life.

This was a sweet quick holiday read that I found hard to put down. The plot was super sweet and endearing. The characters were great and the puns with their names just made the story even better. This had all the marks to make a great Hallmark movie.
I give this a four out of five stars. I enjoyed the plot and the characters. I look forward to more works by this author.

This is a wonderful story for the holiday, that once you pick it up you do not want to stop till the end. The names of the character is perfect!!
Snow came to town to do research on her family, when she met Nick, a lone mountain man who made toys for kids. Their story made me smile, laugh and great for the holiday.

This book was a nice, easy quick read. My only complaint was that it felt like Snow spent way too much time focusing on Wyatt's finances and that was really annoying to me. It was mentioned three or four times about his income in a 59 page book. I think this story would have been much better without Snow continuing to bring up his financial situation and just focusing on how great he was to her.
Miami in Alaska. Snow Wyatt, yes that is her name is in Alaska. She is there doing research. She’s a resource she notices and the town people talk about this guy name Nick last name Kringle. Yes that’s his last name. Apparently it’s several generations old. They meet per chance and a toy drive. Nicely written. Caught in a snowstorm. check. Detailing scenery. Check holiday special. Check no cliff

Enjoyed reading about Nick and Snow. What a great story. I must say I didn't get the comments about her full name when she was checking into the hotel. As I was driving to an appointment it hit me!! I thought what a duh and laughed at myself. That was a good one. I enjoyed seeing the scenery and the areas she/ they visited. I am a visualizing reader. Your story was beautiful,, thanks so much. The way he lights her up from the inside out will be hard to walk away from. Snow needs to return to her life in Miami but she soon realizes that’s not where she wants to be. She left her heart in an Alaskan cabin and plans to go back for it and the man that holds it.

Snow Wyatt is in Fairbanks, Alaska to research her family history. Nick Kringle is a toymaker who lives in the mountains outside of Fairbanks. Two people (with names I absolutely love) who come from completely different worlds fall in love during a snowstorm. This is a short, holiday love story with drama, angst, humor, steam, and a great HEA. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
A great quick and hot read. The female character was not what I expected at first but she was great and the male character was everything I expected of a mountain man. Highly recommended
Wonderful short sweet insta-love with Snow Wyatt and Nick Kringle. She is in Alaska researching her family history and he lives there making wooden toys for the area children. When they meet it is hot attraction and they never cooled off but can he convince her to stay.
I have not read a bad book from this author yet and this book is no exception! The great plot and character development kept me so engaged throughout the entire book that I had a very hard time putting this book down until the very last page was turned!
I absolutely loved this! Nick and Snow are just perfect together. It seemed to move fast when they first meet but it’s clear how much they belong together. I’m just a little upset that it took her so long to wake up and not let him go again.
Another amazing read from this author. This is a Mountain Man Holiday Short Story. You will read this book in one sitting. The story is interesting, the characters are likeable and have amazing chemistry. A fun read to take you away for a bit.
The names alone - Snow and Nick - told me this would be a fun read. It is quick and steamy. Wish I could find a mountain man to drop everything for and run to. Loved it! ⛄️🤍❤️
