Rate this book
DEA agent Maggie Holt has been through hell and back.

After eighteen months undercover in a Mexican cartel, Maggie is broken. The kickass agent she once was, is gone, leaving her riddled with guilt and nightmares. Forced to take paid leave, Maggie accepts the offer of a vacation on the ranch of the man who’d rescued her from an almost certain death.

Frank Stein knows the signs of PTSD, he’d suffered the symptoms himself as Chief Petty Officer of SEAL Team Five. Honorably retired from duty, Frank has found peace at the family ranch and hopes it will do the same for Magdalena. Ever since he’d first met her when she was interrogating his buddy, Jared, Frank has been fascinated by the raven-haired beauty and wants the chance to see where their relationship could go.

Adam O’Connor is Maggie’s partner. He knows her. He loved her once and could again, if she’d let him in. But he’s also angry she took the chances she did by going undercover against orders. And now, things are different. She’s different.

When a right-wing group infiltrates the area, will Maggie, Adam, and Frank be able to set aside their differences to stop them before someone dies? And who will Maggie choose, the handsome cowboy, or her charismatic DEA partner?

In The SEAL's Temptation (Wavefront Publishing 2021), Book 7 in the Wounded Hearts series, DEA agent Maggie Holt is having trouble recovering from her last unsanctioned mission (see my review of Maggie's Revenge here). The psych she talks to calls it PTSD but Maggie isn’t used to seeing herself as damaged. She takes some downtime at the huge out-of-the-way ranch of former SEAL Frank Stein with its beautiful horses, untamed atmosphere, grasslands filled with cows, and a sense of security she really needs right now. With her--besides Frank--is her partner Adam, their boss, and several of Frank's SEAL buddies. It promises to be a relaxing, healing time until DEA business makes this rural area ground zero for danger, first in the form of a local white supremacist group causing trouble and then, escaped convicts. In the middle of all of that, Maggie finds herself falling for the gentle protective nature of former-SEAL, Frank, and him for her.

Imagine all of those moving parts in a romantic suspense story. I often found myself saying I want to be there eating at that family dinner table or riding horses on that ranch. I wasn’t outside looking in. I was there. Biggar expertly blends a character driven story with a heart-stopping plot to make the reading experience compelling, addicting, and deeply engaging. And, as promised, romance holds center stage. In this story, there are at least two. Maybe more depending upon how you could t them.

With three separate romances going on in this story, I loved all the different aspects of each one. Maggie is suffering from PTSD and attempting to recover after being held captive by a ruthless Mexican drug cartel. The bouts of PTSD bring her to her knees. Frank Stein, former Navy Seal Teamleader, simply wants to enjoy retirement and ranch life. The ranch seems the perfect place for Maggie to recover. He hadn't counted on falling for the beautiful woman he is trying to help. Adam (Maggie's former lover) and Amanda (the woman in charge) are another romance in the making, as are Frank's mother and the ranch foreman. This story is full of action. Each chapter takes the reader into a different POV and sometimes a different setting. But, as this author so often does, she ties all of the different threads together to bring the story to a satisfactory conclusion. Tough female protagonists and even tougher male protagonists with soft hearts make for a delightful romantic read with tons of suspense where the bad guys are clever and deadly. The author left this story open for a sequel and I look forward to reading it. There are many characters in this book, and I struggled at times, to keep them straight as to who was who. I definitely think it would be helpful to come into this story with some more background by reading Maggie's Revenge first. I highly recommend this book, but also highly recommend that you read the previous book first just to have the characters, their roles, and relationships easier to follow.

This book hits the floor running but the author does give the background to the story and characters from this long running series.

The combination of action thriller and steamy romance is perfect for summer reading, and winter come to that, when a little extra heat is welcome. The story reflects the ongoing battle with drugs and cartels with a parallel story of rustling that directly involves the ranching community and in particular Frank Stein.

The job is tough enough for the DEA agents and relationships with colleagues makes it even more challenging when emotions get in the way. Those who now have families face additional concern for the safety of their loved ones and when an emergency situation effects one, it effects them all. For others such as Maggie Holt who is suffering from PTSD, learning to love and trust again seems impossible.

In the capable hands of Jacquie Biggar the story flows and leads to an unexpected and dramatic final chapter.

The next book in the series is due out soon and I am looking forward to reading the next adventure for these engaging characters.

The SEALS Temptation is book seven in the Wounded Hearts series by Jacquie Biggar. I have not read this author's work before, so it took a little while to get into the story. But once I did, I could not put it down. Maggie and Frank's story interested me from the beginning. I love this military romance genre, and having a woman as an agent is not something common, which makes it more exciting. I also love the way of life a soldier. It is very close to my heart as my son is a soldier. The camaraderie and sense of family is paramount and loyalty among brothers dominant in any soldier. It was an exciting and heartfelt joy to read Maggie and Frank's journey. It was not an easy for them and their lives were constantly fraught with danger, uncertainty and risky situations. Throw Maggie's partner Adam and you have a nice little love triangle that keeps things very interesting indeed. With passion, discovery and an epic battle of will between these two fascinating characters, this story was engaging and electrifying. There was always something going on and one drama after another to overcome. Overall a intriguing and very busy tale. 4 stars.

Maggie Holt is a DEA agent who is trying to recuperate on Frank Stein’s Texas ranch after getting away from a Mexican drug cartel leader. Her partner Adam and their boss Maggie are there also along with one of Frank’s ex Seal buddies. The last book was about what had happened to Maggie, and I am glad to see she is working on healing her emotional side. I was glad to see that Frank is attracted to her and wants to protect her. I enjoyed watching Frank and Adam try to one up the other where Maggie was concerned. I think a lot of Adam’s was because she was his work partner and they used to have a thing for each other. But Adam really has his eyes on someone else. The DEA agents are given a case to work on while staying on Frank’s ranch. There is some exciting action going on with some shocking facts coming out. This is a good book that I encourage you to read. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

The Seal’s Temptation by Jacquie Biggar
Four Stars

The Seal’s Temptation is the seventh book in the Wounded Hearts series by Jacquie Biggar. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I enjoyed this book, even though I wish I had read this series from book one. I will be going back to the beginning and probably re-read this book. I was sucked into this story from the very beginning. The twists and turns have my emotions scrambled. This book is full of action, adventure, action, and romance triangle. This book goes into details about PTSD. I think Ms. Biggar did a great job bring this issue and others to light. I would highly recommend this book, but you should try to read the first six books first.

DEA agent Maggie feels broken, she had gone against orders and went undercover in Mexico. Now on leave to get back to normal, some say she has PTSD and some say she is different, not the feisty loving life person . Going to the ranch has helped others, would it her, with two men vying for her attention. When trouble comes with a right wing group to the area.
I thought the narration was good and added to the story.

Another awesome action/romance mash-up from Jacquie Biggar, and this one ranks toward the top of my favorites. After a disastrous mission and rescue, the seal team is taking a breather at the peaceful cattle ranch of Chief Seal Frank Stein. Maggie is among them, still suffering from the trauma of her time undercover with the Mexican cartel. While the attraction between Frank and Maggie heats up, all is not well at the ranch as cattle disappear and calves are slaughtered. Drug smugglers and a couple of escaped convicts are causing trouble, and the team can’t help but get involved.

What I loved about the book was the depth of the characters, the whole team. This isn’t a light romance with the usual tropes. No drama queens or kings in this read. These people have serious lives and histories. They’ve risked their lives for each other, and friendships and loyalties run deep. The relationships are grounded in multi-layered emotions, in the maturity that comes from age and from facing hardships together. Personalities are well developed, and there’s a strong sense of history. Maybe part of that is because…

This is Book 7 in the series, which probably wasn’t the best place to start. There are 6 books that provide a lot of backstory and relationship building before this one. The book did read well as a stand-alone, but that said, it makes sense to start at the beginning of the series, to get to know the characters and learn their stories chronologically. It took me a bit to catch on, but then I was hooked.

To be honest, I skimmed the few sex scenes, but I did fall for the romance and action and characters. The pace moves along quickly, and I enjoyed the skilled and well-edited writing. I may have to skip back to book one and start at the beginning. Highly recommended to readers who love a mash-up of romance and action.

As a DEA agent Maggie Holt knows all too well the dangers and darkness that live in the world, so when she decides to go undercover, against the orders of her superiors, in the Mexican cartel and is held for eighteen months before she’s rescued, Maggie is a woman that needs to heal. She’s been through hell and back and now she has to convince her boss and her partner that she is healed and ready to continue her duty.

Frank Stein is a man that knows all too well the damage a person can endure when being held against their will and tortured for months. He’s a retired Navy SEAL Chief and knows the signs of PTSD well. After helping his brother in arms, Adam rescue Maggie, Adam’s partner in the DEA, from the cartel, he gives her a place to rest, relax, and hopefully heal from her ordeal. He also hopes that it shows her that they could be good for each other and together.

I had been waiting for this story to come out. After reading Maggie’s Revenge I was craving more of Maggie and her DEA team as well as the sexy cowboy that helped to rescue her. The wait was worth it. I enjoyed Maggie and Frank’s story and the story was full of continuous action, danger and great characters. Frank owns a ranch in Texas and is dealing with his own problems that go along with ranching, rustling, and making ends meet. When the ranch problems bleed into the DEA’s jurisdiction, things get heated and more dangerous. This story was a page turner with the danger, suspense between Texas and Las Vegas, and FBI agents undercover. I enjoyed the story and look forward to reading more of the Wounded Hearts Series in the future. I give this story a 4.5-star review and recommend it to readers that enjoy suspense, danger, undercover agents, and wounded heroes that are looking for respite from their dangerous pasts.

The SEAL’s Temptation is the seventh book in the Wounded Hearts series by Jacquie Biggar. It is a wounded warrior/military romance and a romantic suspense full of danger, drama, emotion, action, a bit of a love triangle, PTSD, and twists + turns. It had all the ingredients needed to keep me hooked and hurriedly turning the pages, avidly reading all the developments to find out how everything would play out.
This is the seventh book in the series, but can be read as a standalone if you wanted. But having said that, it does follow on from “Maggie’s Revenge” (Book #6) as Maggie is also a MC in this story- so I strongly suggest that reading that book before starting on this one as it will better help you appreciate this story.
Maggie Holt is a DEA agent who is recovering from an undercover mission that nearly cost her life. Her 18month with the Mexican Drug cartel has played havoc with her mental and emotional wellbeing, leaving Maggie feeling quite broken, and a shadow of her former self.
Frank Stein is a former SEAL and owner of the ranch. He hopes that the beautiful, peaceful setting of the ranch will help Maggie on her road to recovery. But what happens when we throw in a bit of a love triangle into the situation, and then add some escaped convicts, and an extremist group to the plot? We get an intense, and gripping read that definitely had its hooks in me right through till the end!
I wonder what Ms. Biggar has in store for us next!

Thank you, Jacquie Biggar!

I really love the way that Ms. Biggar writes about members of the former SEAL team that still work together and stay close friends. They have each other's backs for sure. And this book covers Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, not just in soldiers but in law enforcement officers too. She does a good job of portraying Maggie as a broken, jumpy, wounded soul who needs the tranquility of the ranch to start to heal herself. Her DEA boss and partner are also visiting at the ranch in Texas, as well as the SEAL team members, and things don't stay tranquil for long. There are actually two dramas going on alternately between the Tidal Falls families and the ranch. At first it was a little hard to keep track of all the characters and references to past events but I figured it out soon. There is suspense and action when the the DEA picks up on a domestic terrorist group that may be operating in the area, and they need to use the ranch to stage their surveillance. I did enjoy the book. It was well written and the characters were developed and I could relate to them. The only reason I did not give it 5 starts was that there were some coincidences in the crime stories between the two locations and the crime story was almost an after-thought, showing up late in the book and too quickly wrapped up. And the affair between a supervisor and employee in federal agents was not too believable. I volunteered to read and review and early copy and I was glad I did.

THE SEAL’S TEMPTATION, Wounded Hearts book 7 by Jacquie Biggar is a wonderfully penned romance with a great deal of action and suspense.

DEA Agent Maggie Holt suffers from PTSD after being held captive by a Mexican cartel. She seeks solace at a ranch owned by former Chief Petty Officer of SEAL Team Five, Frank Stein, who has been secretly in love with Maggie for some time. Frank knows all too well what Maggie is going through as he’s suffered with PTSD as well.

Maggie’s partner, Adam, and their superior, are also staying at the ranch. Unfortunately, there’s a lot more going on than just Maggie’s recovery. Cattle are being stolen, fugitives are on the loose, and a militia group has infiltrated the area. This book is full of twists and turns.

On a personal note, Frank, holds hope his long-lost brother, Cameron, will return home. Frank’s sweet mother just knows she will see her estranged son again.

Ms. Biggar does an excellent job pulling the many storylines together. The character development is both complex and believable, especially in terms of Maggie who is mentally broken, deep into her soul. The setting descriptions are so vivid as a reader I felt as through I could really see and feel the environment.

I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who loves a good romance packed with action and suspense.

This was the first book I read by this author and in this series. While I really enjoyed the suspenseful storylines, this would have even better had I read the previous books.

The characters are interesting, but there isn’t much actual interaction between any of the couples to show their relationships growing. Maggie and Frank have a connection, but seem to have some conversations around the ranch and then they progress to declaring their love for each other at the end of this book. Adam and Amanda have even fewer romantic scenes and their connection seems to be pretty volatile.

The author tries to cover a significant amount of story within this book. The stories are intriguing and suspenseful, but I wish there had been more of those stories actually told/shown. The pacing is super fast, as days of action are glossed over in a few sentences to indicate time has passed and what happened versus actually showing it and letting the reader experience it for themselves.

I received an ARC from Hidden Gems and I am voluntarily leaving a review. This is an author I would be interested in reading again, but I will be sure to make sure I check to find the first book in a series and go from there.

This is the 7th book in the Wounded Hearts series. Even though the books are in a series they can be read as a standalone. I loved this story as it mixes my two favourite elements, Romance and danger.

Maggie Holt is a DEA agent. She has just come out of a undercover assignment with a Mexican Drug Cartel which almost cost her her life. Now she needs to take some time to get over the experience and recover.

So when Frank a former SEAL offers her a place to stay on his ranch is seems a perfect solution. Frank hopes his peaceful ranch will help Maggie heal and also give him time to show her how much he cares for her.

This could be a perfect romance but with Maggie's partner wanting her as well a love triangle forms.
But with danger around every turn with escaped convicts and extremist groups against them can they work together as a team to remain safe and alive or will the competition for Maggie end up costing someone their lives.

The SEAL’s Temptation (Wounded Hearts Book 7) by Jacquie Biggar. I LOVE these books. They are all amazing and each time I read one I think its my new favorite and this one was no different. This is the story of DEA agent Maggie Holt who is suffering from PTSD due to being held captive by a drug cartel. Retired Navy Seal Agent Frank Stein just wants to relax after years of being a Chief Petty Officer. He has a ranch and wants to just enjoy his retirement. Maggie thinks this ranch will be the perfect place to recover. Unbeknownst to either of them the drug cartel has moved into the area in the manner of cattle thieves, escaped convicts and drugs. While the two help Maggie recover they are also fighting the cartel and falling for each other. Will Maggie and Frank be able to finally put the cartel to rest and will they make a go of their budding relationship? Read The Seal's Temptation to find out!

Maggie’s story continues as she recovers from PTSD at Frank’s ranch with her ex-partner, boss, an ex-seal, and wife. There is the budding relationship between Frank and Maggie and the past bond with her partner, Adam, which I enjoyed, along with the missing cows. Then, a man living near the ranch who was recently released from prison added excitement to the story, along with familiar characters from previous books who dealt with their issues back in Tidal Falls. I loved the story, had more than one perspective, and how well it all blended. The characters are well-rounded, and the setting made me feel like I was there with them at the ranch. Although I have gotten attached to all the characters, Maggie has become my favorite. I can’t wait to read Wounded Hearts #8 and see what happens next. I highly recommend this book and the series.

The SEAL's Temptation: Wounded Hearts- Book 7 by Jacquie Biggar is a military romantic suspense story. There are several sub plots going on in this book, but Jacquie does a great job in tying them altogether giving us an action packed read. Her development of the characters is complex I love the fact that SEAL’s are never really civilians, they are a brotherhood and a family. Her writings of Maggie and her PTSD is believable and acutely palpable. This vivid page turner had my heart pounding in my chest and at attention as I was transported into the intrigue and drama, action and the journey and part of the team. The story is well written, and the words flowed easily. I didn’t realise it was book 7 in the series until after I had started reading so now, I need to go back and start at the beginning to where it all started and get everyone’s back story.

4 1/2 stars.
This is the seventh book in the Wounded Hearts series and continues where book six, Maggie's Revenge, ends. The team of DEA agents, including Maggie, is camped out at Frank's ranch for some much-needed R&R. But trouble follows them in the forms of escaped convicts, cattle rustlers and illegal drug shipments.
This is an entertaining, fast-paced novel that will keep you reading long after bedtime. Since I have not read any of the previous books in this series, I can definitively say that The SEAL's Temptation qualifies as a stand-alone novel, although I found it difficult at times to keep the numerous characters straight. While Maggie and Frank have their HFN (happily for now) ending, there are numerous details that are not resolved, thus leaving the reader with a cliffhanger. Jacquie Biggar delivers great writing, an interesting plot and complex characters. I am anxious to read books 6 and 8 to immerse myself in the lives and loves of these "Wounded Hearts".

This page turning, romantic suspense had my heart pounding at times. It had the perfect balance of romance, suspense, and intrigue to keep me riveted to the story. I really liked Magdalena Holt also known as Maggie. She was such a strong, stubborn, independent woman. It was fun watching her let love in.

What I liked best in this book was all the action that tied in toegether to create a book I did not wnat to put down. I could not help but enjoy the romance brewing betweenn Frank , a retired SEAL chief, now ranching on his family ranch., and Maggie. They both deserved to find love. It was also nice for Frank and his mom to finally find out where Cameron, Frank's brother was. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review,

DEA Maggie Holt is suffering from PTSD after being rescued from her tortured captivity by the Mexican cartel. She is recovering at the ranch of Frank Stein, the man and his team that rescued her. He knows what she is going through after his service as Chief Petty Officer of a SEAL Team. He has now retired and found peace at his family ranch and is hoping she can find the same peace. He is drawn to her but has concerns that he is too old for her as well as doesn’t know if she has feeling for her partner Adam or not. There is a lot going on right now in this town and other areas close by. A militia group has infiltrated the area, two prisoners have escaped from prison, cows are being stolen, and calves killed. Can all these problems get solved with no one getting killed?

Fast-paced action with all the feels
The SEAL’s Temptation: Wounded Hearts Book 7 by Jacquie Biggar is an emotionally charged military/law enforcement romantic suspense. This book has all the feels as both Magdalena and Frank experienced trauma that has caused PTSD. Healing and understanding is the theme for this couple with action thrown in spurring their hearts to further engage.
I enjoyed the plot and even though it was evident this book is a continuation of the beginning of their story, I didn’t feel lost. I did want to know more so Book 6 will be joining my TBR list!
Overall, this romantic suspense with wounded heros engaged my heart with all the emotions and tripped my pulse with all the action.
I read an ARC of this book via Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.

This was an engaging and gripping romance with plenty of drama and suspense which kept me happily turning the pages. DEA Agent Maggie Holt has spent eighteen months undercover in a Mexican cartel and she now feels like the amazing agent that she was is now gone and she feels broken. Maggie is suffering with guilt and nightmares and when she is forced to take paid leave she accepts the offer of a vacation on a ranch. The range belongs to the man who rescued her from an almost certain death, Frank Stein who is a retired Chief Petty Officer SEAL. Having suffered from PTSD himself he recognises the symptoms in Maggie when she arrives and hopes she will find the peace on his ranch that he did. Frank is interested in seeing if a relationship could develop between himself and Maggie but Maggie’s DEA partner Adam O’Connor is also in the mix. Adam is angry that she went against orders to go undercover putting herself at risk however, he loved her once and could again, if she’d let him. A right-wing militia group infiltrates the area and Maggie, Adam, and Frank have to work together before someone dies. Maggie has to choose between the handsome cowboy, Frank or her charismatic DEA partner, Adam. This book had me hooked from start to finish and the suspenseful plot ensured I could not put the book down. I liked the three main characters and how their different relationships developed and the interactions between them. The narrative flowed well and I felt immersed in the storyline.

The SEAL’s Temptation: Wounded Hearts by Jacquie Biggar was a little hard to get into at first, not having read the first couple books of the series. There were a lot of characters to get to know. But the suspense was enough to keep me interested. Who would Maggie Holt choose to pick as her life partner now that she was free from her own personal hell? Would it be her partner Adam or the former Navy SEAL Chief Frank? Would Maggie be found for fit for duty once again with the DEA? A good southern Texas suspenseful romance with ranches and missing cattle. Well written story with lots of little details to keep you guessing.

This was one full novel with lots of layers and details, but the best part I love of Jacquie Biggar is that she can take a complicated story and make it easy to read. I really enjoyed this suspenseful romance that kept me sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what would come next and how our characters would end up. Maggie is a relatable woman and really I found myself pulling for her throughout the whole thing ready to find out if she would end up safe and happily in love. This will be one you won’t want to put down so grab a drink and a comfy space and dive on in! I cannot wait to see what we will get next from Ms. Biggar.

The SEAL's Temptation: Wounded Hearts- #7 by Jacquie Biggar

This isn't the first book I've read by Biggar. It is the first book I've read in The Wounded Hearts Series. I've got to say that this book was amazing.

Maggie is supposed to be on paid-leave. When the man that runs the ranch catches her heart. Then she's back to work and he's injured. The quote I chose for Maggie is: “No, it was nice —listening to you joking like that. I can tell you’re close.”

Frank didn't know what he needed until he met Maggie. Knowing what she went through and knowing how to handle PTSD episodes. He finds himself falling in love, but pushes her away. The quote I chose for Frank is: “Sure, whatever you need. But you might want to think it over. It’s quiet here. No one to push you into doing anything before you’re ready. Don’t rush away, Maggie. You’ll only hurt someone if you do, and I don’t think you want that. I’ve been in your shoes. PTSD is a b****, make no mistake. It creeps up on you when you least expect it and tangles with your head. Do you really want to be in charge of a weapon when that happens?”

Highly recommended for Romantic Military Suspense lovers.

While I enjoyed the drama, action, danger and romance of this story, it would have been better if I had read the previous books in the series I think. Jacquie Biggar gives glimpses into what happened previously with Maggie, Adam and the other characters, but you can tell there’s a lot more to their stories. Lots of intertwining story lines going on in this book that meet up in the end... but also let you know there’s more to come. There are unexpected twists and turns that add to the excitement. The ending seemed a bit abrupt to me, but perhaps it’s just that I wanted to read more about Frank and Maggie.

The Seal’s Temptation by Jacquie Biggar is Book #7 in her “Wounded Hearts” series. This is the first book by Jacquie that I have read and it most definitely will NOT be the last. Maggie is a DEA agent recovering after her last mission where she went rogue and was captured and terrorized by a Mexican drug lord. She is on paid leave and a restful vacation at Frank Stein’s farm. Frank is a retired Chief with the Seal’s and has been in love with Maggie since he first laid eyes on her. He runs the family farm but is having trouble with some of his herd disappearing. Frank’s former Seal buddies, Jarrod and Adam, also a DEA agent and Maggie’s partner, are at the farm along their boss who Adam wants in his bed and life. When he thinks he’s making headway, she’s quick to set him back, breaking his heart and spirit. With every turn something is happening to Jarrod’s so & Nick’s daughter disappearing, to meets with an undercover FBI agent to bullets flying. Loved this book and can’t wait to read more!! I’m leaving this honest review as I received an Advanced reader copy.

This is an author that I have enjoyed from the first book I picked up of hers. I enjoyed this military romance story. It is a well developed story that has characters that not only bring the story to life but also brings the action. The characters are relatable and kept the story engaging. I enjoyed the suspense they brought to the story. It is fast paced, easy to read and entertaining. This is the story of Maggie, Adam and Frank. All three have their differences but will they be able to put things aside? Not only that Maggie is left to decide where her heart lies. What will fate have in store for these three and will someone die before it is all figured out? This is a great story that I had a hard time putting down. I highly recommend this book and this author.

The Seal’s Temptation is book seven in the Wounded Hearts series by Jacquie Biggar.

Although this book can be read as a standalone story (which is what I did), I would suggest reading the previous books in the series. There is a lot of overlapping of characters and storylines between the books, although I found I could keep up pretty well. I would have enjoyed it even more if I had read the others beforehand and knew more of the backstories.

This story takes you on a complete rollercoaster ride of emotions, keeping you on your toes throughout. I loved the romantic story between Maggie and Frank, although I kind of wish there had been more time spent with this couple during the story. They obviously have a connection, but they do seem to skirt around things a lot. There are lots of things going on with other characters too, which can make it a little difficult to keep track at times.
It was the emotions and storytelling that I enjoyed most and kept me quickly turning the pages until the end.
