It’s becoming clear to me that I bit off way more than I can chew with this show. Not only do I have twenty men vying for my hand, but I also have to deal with vindictive exes, a sadistic cult, and a murderer.
Left with no other choice, I decide to do what I should’ve done from the very beginning—offer myself as bait on our next group date and hope that I’m not killed. Did I mention that my only allies are my ex-boyfriend and a guy that may have played a crucial role in my past (if I can remember him, that is)?
The joys of being me.
Let the meeting of the exes begin.
This is a SERIAL-SYLE reverse harem romance. After every release, a poll will be placed in my reader's group for the contestants. Each installment - including dates and eliminations - will be decided exclusively by the readers. This book will end in a cliffhanger, so be warned.
Every time a new installment from this series is released I already have a huge smile on my face and I put literally whatever book I'm reading aside to dive in. So, when the announcement came on Wednesday that a new book was coming today I kept an eye on Amazon and the Facebook page and this afternoon I could finally get the book. Which means that my current book had to wait a little longer, because this book had to go first.
And with reason! Somehow in this book I get the feeling that the roles of the Supernaturalette and the other, a little more interesting, plot are reversed. The other plot gets a lot more attention and the Supernaturalette has officially become nothing but decorum for the bigger picture. You don't hear me complain about that, by the way, on the contrary. I really love the bigger plot, the mystery, the excitement, the pieces of the past that are slowly revealed. This might therefore be one of my favorite installments ever!
However, it also means that a lot of guys had a backseat in this book, or just a throwaway line. It's something that has to happen of course. Not all those guys can have a big role, loads of screentime and a point of view chapter, but in a way I also find it sad. That's probably because I have a totally weird taste and have a crush on Fernando and he literally had one little written word of screentime in this book. I'm not bitter about it. I'm just...disappointed. (The smart reader of my reviews understands that this level of commitment means the author does an amazing job and that it's actually a compliment in disguise.)
And on top of that there's of course our leading lady! Although the book is not pure lighthearted and fun there are a lot of fun moments and also some light hearted ones and that's mostly because she's so incredibly clumsy, both physically and socially. Because of who she is she can turn every heavy situation into something funny. She can make me laugh in the midst of some dramatic scene and most of all I can totally understand why all those guys are in love with her already.
I will not bother the author (they are people, not machines), but I'm already really looking forward to the next installment!
DNF - quit at 65% This just lost my interest, I was having a hard time keeping up with all the POV changes, jumping back & forth to the past & current events, and some of the weirdness going on. Not really developing the characters or pushing a specific or a few to make a RH, makes it hard for this reader to get attached. Ridley was funny at the beginning of the series, now she’s just tedious to read about. It’s a shame since this is the 5th book in the series, but needless to say- I won’t be continuing.
At my age (approaching 60), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.
Katie is trying to kill us with the anticipation and thrill!
Poor Ridley. She’s trying really hard to do Supernaturalette AND figure out who the murderer hiding out on the show is.unfortunately she’s caught up on one event after another, and it seems someone isn’t playing around.
Will Ridley figure out who killed Ali? Will she remember what she’s forgotten? Will she get the Red Eyes off her back and behind bars? She gonna try dang it and do it while making her way through the hot guys in mansion.
Well I am seriously getting irritated. By book 5 we are still not getting any answers. Everything is too cryptic and so far I do not consider this a rh. I loved this idea at first especially getting to vote but since I'm never notified through my email or FB, I'm just now reading after it's been out for several weeks. There was no time with any of the characters in this one and no hilarious moments. It seemed like a complete waste of space. If the next one isn't better I don't think I will continue.
Serious this series is really good and just makes you want to be a contestant on a TV show. This book in particular has me questioning who I really think is a bad guy, who is a lier and who could be a kidnapper. I'm at the point where if its one of the guys I might cry. . . I love them all.
Great Job Katie this was the most confusing and heart renching one yet and I can't wait for the next!
I think what I'd really like is more quality time with more of the contestants. I know its supposed to be short and all but maaannnn... lol
Anyways, its super fun, well written, editing good. I love the interactive aspect of it. Its probably the best kind of problem when my only complaint is that I want more.
Ive been following this since Katie May started this series and I am completely shook that this came out and I had no clue! I belong in her group too! When I saw this recommendation on my kindle I thought it was a preorder, of course I snatched it when I saw it was already out. This book had some spooky turns in it and crazy exes and secrets. Add murder and Mayhem and you get an amazing series! I'm excited to see what happens next!
Again, far too short! I wish for more... But it's, of course, still fantastic. Though, we get some answers and for each answer there comes new questions. Who is the other kidnapper, for example? Why has Ridley her memories erased?
Phew, and that cliffy. As I know now, I'm not nearly at the end of the story (I thought so far, this series is finished, and I can't do any polls. But it seems, I still can participate.) But hopefully, it doesn't take too long anymore. I'm not good at waiting.
I'm always so excited to read about Ridley and again, I was not disappointed. She manages to be funny even with everything that's going on. And the ending... It was such a surprise yet I cannot wait to read what's going to happen!
Sometimes I get sad it's so short but I love the concept so much! Can't wait for the next book!
This is such a fun series. Ridley is hilarious. I am constantly laughing out loud. I am actually staring to like Kyler. Grant and Jiulian and of course Ren are in my top favorites list. I can't wait to find out what Julian is hiding. I'm hoping it's nothing too bad. Can't wait for the next book!
I have a love hate relationship with this story. I love everything about it, and hate waiting for more! I love Ridley, she makes me laugh with every installment. And the guys get better and better! I don't know how she can choose because I already have too many favorites!
Katie is a master at keeping you on the edge of your seat with each book. New clues emerge in who could me messing with Ridley along with figuring out which guys to keep. I just adore this series and how many times I swoon or laugh that I have tears coming down my face. I can't wait for more books.
This installment was hilarious mostly due to Leon, who is...well there are no words. Now we're getting to the good background stuff and the intrigue rises.
I love how Katie is able to keep me on the edge of my seat the whole way through these books no matter how long or short they are. She manages to pack so much emotion and so many twists and turns in to these installments and I can’t stop. I am so excited to see how it continues.
You’re killin’ me, Katie! This serial cannot come out fast enough to satisfy me. Major cliffhangers leave me begging for the next installment every time.
I’ve literally laughed out loud multiple times. Lighthearted and excellently written!!
This is such a unique concept and I don’t want any of the guys to go since they all have such deep backstories! But at the same time I understand that some of them have to go so that the eventual harem can truly shine! I just hope Jace is in there!
O M G this series... its like a damn ending of my favorite TV series, it's Bachelorette on cr*ck... how did that happen..... and why doesn't she know who he is.... did I miss that, I think a reread is in order...
Yeah I'm gonna reread.. enjoy this one this is exciting!!!
Yep, it’s official... I’m totally in love with this series and so many of the characters. Ridley is HILARIOUS and such an awesome female, you just can’t not love her!
Ridley cannot catch a break. Everything is so hard to comprehend. All these books end with slight cliffhangers. This one is no exception. Will Ridley be able to chase the clues for an answer? Another mystery to solve.
This is book 5 of this interactive series and there are things going on everywhere. I’m actually not sure what’s going to happen. Every time something happens, it’s not what I was expecting. I love this series
I love this serial series. The concept is great and I love having the choices be in the hands of the fans. Can't wait until the next edition after that k!ller cliffhanger!
I’m really enjoying this story. I love Ridley. And it’s so hard to choose the contestant(s) I like most. So glad this is a why choose. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
I think I am burnt out with this series. The books are so short in length that I should be able to finish and have the drive to finish but I think I have lost the spark for this concept. Knowing me I will continue for the last book but the joy is lost. Normally, I adore multiple point of views, however, the POV shifts SOOO often that I got kind of lost with who was the perspective and in turn I was unable to grow attached to any of the characters whether Ripley or her numerous prospective beaus. The murder just felt like a way to justify continuing the show that is these novels.
I feel like I have piled on the negative… it’s not all bad as it got 2 stars. I love having such diverse supernaturals within the story instead of the generic werewolf/lycan, vampire, warlock situation. I also freakin love how much the man-eating tree lifestyle played a role in this book though honestly I would have ADORED more development into their culture and society. Though I am a huge nerd so that may have bored other readers to tears.
Exes- Supernaturalette Book 5, was fantastic and I'm already craving the next book. I love being apart of the voting and it's amazing how Katie May came up with this idea. Completely brilliant. Thank you Katie and I can't wait to read the next installment.
