Maeve Ahern
No one ever really starts over. They drag their overweight suitcase filled with a haunting, dead fiancé, and unzip it in a new location. That’s just facts of life. At least, it’s my life. Sure, I moved to Colorado for a fresh start, but my past with Rexy looms in every corner light doesn’t touch.

My career as a pediatric physical therapist is the only thing I have left, and I pride myself on being the best in the field. It’s why I moved to Colorado to open my own practice. Men aren’t even on my radar, but then again, Turner isn’t a man, he’s my adorable, six-year-old patient. His father, though? He’s everything I swore off. A swaggering, muscle filled, creation similar to the one I lost.

He’s a Navy SEAL. A military man. A heartbreaking blunder I can’t make twice.

Unfortunately, whenever he steps into the room, all I see is light.

Lincoln Wilds

Single parenting isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s constant chaos, and the maddening sense of abandonment always lurks in the background. Turner’s mother left us a month after he was born—vanished into a dark, drug fueled existence. My military career suffered during his infancy stage, but I’m finally working my way back to some semblance of normalcy.

I just got my own squad at the SEAL Team, when Turner falls off the monkey bars and shatters his leg. Just another hiccup in our complicated life. He needs a skilled physical therapist to help him walk again, but when I meet Maeve, something about her disorients me completely.

Maeve Ahern is a walking, talking flash bang.

I was so unprepared for the instant connection between Maeve and Lincoln. For the instant spark that they never saw coming. That they never expected to feel. That they never thought they’d want to feel again.

I loved their early hesitancy because they’ve both been stung by love before. Maeve moved clear across country to bury her feelings and start over after her fiancé was killed. And Lincoln’s sole focus, besides his SEAL team, is raising his son, Turner, as a single dad.

Neither has time for romance. Or love. But they couldn’t deny the feelings that between them and their interactions and the relationship that built between them was smart, sexy, and real. I loved the connection between Maeve and Turner too.

But danger was also brewing. Mishaps, misdeeds, and other not so incidental incidents were happening. And it was either Maeve or Lincoln who was targeted—or maybe both. And they couldn’t truly move forward until they knew they were safe from harm. And they weren’t!

Although we now know who was behind the acts—and Flash Bang ends just as the information is revealed. But we don’t know who’s going to come out safely on the other side. And I cannot wait to find out in On His Six. ~ Missy, 5 stars

I was offered an ARC for an honest review.
So here we go.

Looking for your next read? Now just stop what you're doing and read this book.
This was unexpectedly good, like really good , (the plot 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯) ( still tearing here 💔😭).
But seriously, you want a book to take you into sweet, suspense, spice 🌶️, and keep on your toes till the last page .
This is it . I just finished this last night, had to have a word with the author because ( it's her fault anyway and I was a complete mess) .
It's been a while since I read something that made me go through all the feels all at once , a book that breaks my heart and mends it all at the same time .
Maeve and Linc were the whole thing , so sweet, so IT.
I'm literally catching myself at the last sec to NOT post any spoiler.
Can't say more , just order your book and enjoy/join the ride .
And luckily the next book is not far off ❤️❤️❤️❤️ can't wait because I'm literally loosing it. 🙈🙈

Ps:One last thing : Ditto ( had to do it ❤️🤫).

This was a new to me author and one I'll definitely be reading more from in the future, including the next book as I need answers!!!
Omg!!!
Although the characters endeared me from the start, the plot was a bit slow to begin with, until like a flash bang it wasn't.
Once the crazy things started happening, I couldn't look away and was turning the pages like a mad woman trying to find out what was going on amongst all the red herrings.
Definitely recommend.

Maeve moved to Colorado to start over after losing her love, Rexy. She's not really living, just drifting through life as a PT, with her guard (and her rage) way up to protect herself from further pain. Then another military man walks into her clinic and upends her world when his son becomes her newest patient. Maeve promised herself no more military men, but she cannot seem to resist Lincoln, or his adorable son, Turner. Will she find love a second time? What about when someone seems to be targeting her, can Lincoln protect her?

I know I've said this before, but Rachel Robinson wrote one of my favorite books, called Crazy Good. It too featured a SEAL team, and I've loved Rachel ever since, but have not loved another SEAL like Maverick until now because Lincoln is amazing! A sweet single dad with that alphaness that SEALs all seem to have, but without being ott about it. He's perfect for on her guard Maeve, who made him work really hard for her frozen heart. Their chemistry is intense, there's suspense, and Turner adds a touch of lightheartedness - this is definitely Rachel's best since Crazy Good. There was a horrible cliffhanger, though, so be forewarned. I think the conclusion is coming soon so I am on edge waiting for it now.

"Ok, wow. What the heck did I just read?!! Give me a minute here, my mind is still spinning.
Instead of starting at the beginning, I'm all about that ending, I kept trying to go to the next page, there were no more pages! It's a duet (thank goodness) so the story basically stops on a dime, on the edge of a cliff. My heart is still in my stomach.
This book, from start to finish, is a total rollercoaster of emotion, the good, the bad and the not so easy to put your finger on. Maeve and Lincoln are both skittish when it comes to relationships. They've both guarded their hearts, rightfully so, for different reasons. The story is a slow builder with all the feels. It also has solid friendships, suspense and a lot of trying to connect the dots.

Easily the best book I have read in 2021, so far! It is a duet, I have more to look forward to. If Maeve puts her house on the market, I am buying it!

I consumed this book, just kept turning pages as we get serious, silly, and creepy. SO much is happening, but I do not want to slip and share a spoiler. Maeve has not had it easy growing up, but she has beaten the odds and done well for herself. She now has a thriving pediatric physical therapy practice in Colorado. Lincoln is a military man, proud to serve his country and raise his child. Maeve and Lincoln have an immediate connection, but acting on it is challenging due to interruptions. Will she get past her ex and love another SEAL? Will his past mistakes cause them harm?

I need to find these answers and more, so I will patiently wait for book two.

I received an advanced copy from the Author; this is my voluntary review

WOAH! It’s no secret that Rachel is also a one click for me. No matter the book. I rarely even read the blurb. If Rachel has written it, count me in. This story is no different. I think we’re all a bit like Maeve. A little broken from loss or something from our past. Her strength to push through everything she’s been through is something to admire though. But the more important question is, where can I find myself a Lincoln? Hmm? Their relationship gave me so many butterflies. This ending left me on a cliffy and I’m usually not a fan of those at least not if the whole series or duet is out so I can finish the story. But I’m so excited to read the conclusion to Maeve and Lincoln’s story.

WOW! THIS BOOK!

I'll have to write a full review when my heart rate eventually slows and my brain stops spinning but WOW.

Rachel Robinson, Flash Bang is the best book you have written. It's above and beyond what you've done before.. It's absolutely bloody brilliant. Really fucking special. WOW.

This story is one that captured my interest from the start and I literally snuck extra reading in whenever I could because I was so interested in what was happening. I’m so glad I decided to give this new author to me a chance.

I really liked both Lincoln and Maeve as the lead characters. They were both real with everyday problems. Turner is such a cutie too and very intuitive. I liked Lincoln and Maeve together with their take no nonsense attitude and their explosive chemistry too.

The mystery and suspense in this story is excellent and as pieces of the puzzle started to fit others moved around making it even more interesting. I enjoyed the twists and turns in the plot but that ending had my heart breaking in two. I am looking forward to reading the next book to find out what happens, it’s a must read.

Flash Bang is the story of Maeve Ahern & Lincoln Wilds, two souls who come face to face to start a new journey. At first this story seemed to be very slow going, but it certainly didn't stay that way. All of a sudden a flash bang set (pun intended) things off & I had an almost impossible time catching my breath. It got the heart racing as things took a drastic turn that had me propelling me up to the edge of my seat as I turned pages as fast as humanly possible. It all led me to a high cliff that Rachel Robinson promptly kicked me right off, and now I'm hanging by a finger as I die inside because WHY OH WHY?! The next book simply CANNOT come quickly enough as I'm very impatiently waiting so yeah, glad I didn't push pause on Flash Bang because I would have missed out on a lot! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was a good intro to Maeve and Lincoln's story. It started a little slow but once the story picks up, it gets really exciting, then it ends on a cliffhanger. I can't wait for the conclusion to their story!

Maeve and Lincoln have had painful pasts. But there is an instant connection between them. There is so much that happens in this story, a lot of drama and twists and turns. Their story was emotional, heartbreaking and all-consuming.

This book by R. Robinson is a witty and fun read. The first in her new Summit S. SEAL Series.
Maeve Ahern is starting over. New career, new city, new house, new everything. The only remaining is Rexy. I wish I could have met him, seems he was a great guy.
Lincoln Wilds is a Navy SEAL, a single dad of an adorable little boy. A boy who needs Maeve as his therapist. L and M are so so smitten with each other, their attraction is very high. Only she keeps secrets, and he's about to leave on deployment.
I loved the story, connected easily with the characters and the storyline is so great. The story continues in On His 6.

A word of warning, this book will leave you desperately waiting for the next piece of the duet. I don’t know why I do this to myself, but I’m desperate over here.

In the beginning, I was concerned this book wasn’t going to hold my interest, but once the story picked up and took off, I literally just couldn’t get enough. The plot was super unpredictable and kept me guessing and the characters were great. First book by Rachel Robinson and I would for sure read her again.

This book had a whole lot of crazy for such a quick read! That ending was nothing like I expected. I had a gut feeling on some of it but it seemed like everything happened & unravelled so fast. At the end I just kept clicking for the next page till I was all out of pages & completely left on the edge of a cliff wanting to know what was going to happen next!

At first the back & forth between Maeve & Lincoln seemed so stilted & polite. It was almost weird to me. But they had this instant connection that was hard for both of them to accept. Than all the crazy happened & continued happening right till the end! I need the next book soon because I really need to know what happens next!

✨ What can I tell you about this book?

When I was trying to find words to describe what this book made me feel, Ale, of my closest friends told me "it's an exciting book that makes you feel a lot of things, you're going to be surprised by all the plot twists and that end is...", and I think it's pretty accurate.

This book is about Maeve, whose fiancé (Navy SEAL) was killed years ago, and Lincoln, a single parent Navy SEAL. You can say it's second chance romance and... I just don't know how to describe it.

I was shocked when everything started to happen as you can see in my "status update" here in Goodreads. The only thing I wrote was "I'm shocked", "Mom, I'm scared". Don't get me wrong, it's nothing out of the ordinary but some reason I wasn't expecting those things. 😂

Rachel Robinson is a new author to me and I honestly loved the way she wrote this one! It made me feel a lot of things I seriously didn't know I needed. I think I said it before but a book with great quotes is going to be forever in my heart and this is not the exception.

I hope you guys give this one a chance because it's freaking AWESOME. 💖

No sé cómo describirlo.

Flash Bang is my first book I read by Rachael Robinson. It has been a long time since I have read someone new to me. But it has been a very long while since I read a military romance. Then I read the blurb and I love me some Navy Seals stories. It was time to go back to this genre.

It was a slow start for me with this book. I was about 30% in and that is where it started to pick up for me. I just could not get connected to the characters at first. There was insta attraction and before I knew it, Lincoln and Maeve's life is intertwined. I almost threw the towel in, but then I really needed to take a step back and open my mind to Rachel's writing. Then it all clicked! This is a different style of writing and you are not going to get a story of what you expect to happen.

I am so glad I held on to this story. Lincoln and Maeve's initial few tries to heat up the room came short with some very unexpected surprises. It was bit creepy and mysterious. I started yelling, "What is Happening?" I had my suspicions of "WHODUNIT" but there was a huge turning point and the story shifted. There was the chemistry of romance and falling in love...but there are obstacles. It is what I needed in this story.

Maeve has left a mark in not only Lincolns life but in Taylors as well. You see this family form and bond together. But the ending just killed me. I read the last line..."A flash bang thrown in the dark." And my heart seemed to stop! I yelled at my husband that this cannot be how it ends...but its true. I cannot wait for the conclusion of what happens next. Will Maeve get her HEA? Or will it be ripped from her again. The surprise we get towards the end has my head spinning with a certain drama queen that has become psycho. I need the next book NOW!!

My Review (ARC provided)
https://triciaciak.blogspot.com/
4.5 stars!!

Holy hell what a ride this was! I had no idea what to expect and Rachel delivered on this fast-paced, hot, action-packed novel.

I’m not a huge fan of instalove, in some stories I like it but in others, it’s too much too fast. Well, in this story you got that instant attraction and love but you felt it. I felt every bit of their bond and chemistry. I wanted them together and rooted for them from the initial meeting.

Maeve and Lincoln have both been broken in different ways, Lincoln a navy seal and single father. Maeve broken from losing her fiance and never griefing properly. Lincoln needs to take his son to a physical therapist and after researching the best of the best he decides on Maeve, (it doesn’t hurt that she catches his eye in other ways too0. After their initial meeting, Lincoln is determined not to let Maeve slip away.

We have this whole love story going on but behind the scenes is some creepy stalker shit. Things keep happening to Maeve and now it’s Lincoln’s mission to figure out who it is. I’ll leave it at that. Like I said this was a quick read that had me turning the pages wanting more. And wow I didn’t see what was coming, what a cliffhanger we are left with. I need book two now!!

So, yeah. I am seriously struggling to put in to words how I feel about this book.  To start, Rachel Robinson is a new to me author.  I had no idea what her writing style was like, but the blurb sounded good so I took a chance.

I like Maeve and Lincoln.  I think there are some definite trust issues but based on their pasts that is no big surprise. When all is said and done, everything they do is based on their best intentions for one another, or for Turner and that helps move the story along.

That being said, the book I read was not the book I expected based on the blurb/synopsis. I will fully admit it was kinda vague about the possible drama, but in no way was I expecting THE DRAMA.  And because I hate spoilers, I don't think I can even talk about THE DRAMA. I feel like I went looking for a clean fork and got tossed the whole kitchen sink. And honestly, it was unexpectedly so much drama it left me kinda meh about the storyline.

Obviously Flash Bang is part of a duet so be prepared for the cliffy. I had a hard time deciding between 3.5 and 4 stars..BUT based on my need to finish the duet to see how much more can happen to these two I'll round up to 4.  I guess we'll see how On His Six stands up to Flash Bang.

Wow Flash Bang may have started out of the gate slow and steady but oh my word get ready for a ride.
Mauve and Lincoln have an immediate connection and it isn't just physical.
Mauve had a tough up bringing in the foster system and then loosing her fiancé in a military accident had her rethink her future.
She moved her pediatric physical therapy practice to Colorado for a fresh start and when she takes on Turner a little boy that broke his leg it is his father that captivates her.
Lincoln is a single dad and Navy Seal and he is doing his best every day to raise his son Turner. Having raised Turner on his own since he was an infant has left Lincoln with little time to date..so he hasn't.
When the new Dr. captures his attention they both soon realize that they may be too damaged for a long term but we do have the here and now. Now lets throw into the mix a stalker and we have quite the story! This one left me speechless and I am still processing it all!!! This couple had great chemistry, so much fire, an intense and familiar pull toward one another with wonderfully intelligent banter and conversation. SO good!!!

Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor because holy crap! My first read from Rachel Robinson was emotional and sexy, dangerous and I was hooked from the start.

I really liked Lincoln. His dedication to his son (who is the cutest thing ever). His relationship with his mother. How from the first time he met Maeve, he just knew his world was about to change. Now he just had to get her on board and let her sky high walls down. They were there for good reason. And the more she let him in, the more I liked her. She was thoughtful and playful, something she hadn't let herself be in a long time.

But not everyone was happy about them being together. It was just a question of who. Because the more time they spent together, the closer they got, the more dangerous things got. And when it was revealed who was behind all the terror, and just how twisted things were, I was as blindsided as Maeve and Lincoln. I am still breathless and my heart is still racing with the Flash Bang ended. I need answers and the next book...

Wow this book really took me by surprise. I will say it started off a bit rushed/slow Im not quite sure. I was left with a lot of questions for the first several chapters but once it got going I was thrown into an amazing story.
Maeve has lived the life of being with a seal and when she finds out her fiancé passes away 2 days before her wedding she decides that is it no more. So she goes on a hiatus of dating and especially not dating another Seal. But when a cute little boy who needs to have PT comes into her office she can not help but feel the connection to his hot, gorgeous father who just so happens to be a Seal. But even though they try to hold back this connection and the feelings for each other they just can not help it.
This book will take you on an adventure and oh wait its not all hearts and roses no throw in a stalker, some hot scenes and a bit of angst and you got your self one awesome story. But once you finish this book you will truly understand why it is called Flash Bang.

Book ends in a cliffhanger FYI

I started reading this author's book as she writes freaking awesome military romances and Oh man, this one made me a bit teary ☹

I loved this one. I don’t want to say a lot in my review as I feel I will give a way too much 😊
But all you need to know is Maeve hasn’t had an easy life growing up but she overcome all of that and now she is a successful pediatric physical therapist. Lincoln is a military man (Whoop Whoop #Sigh lol) raising his son on his own (AAH man) 😊

When these two meet, instant connection but life isn’t that easy. And overcoming past hurts isn’t easy either, and trying to move forward from that might be a bit harder than Maeve thought.
I loved it and loved the suspense the twists and turns that keeps you wondering what’s going on and what’s happening next. I need the next book ASAP!!! So sorry to have to tell you but it end kind of ends on a cliffhanger☹ 😊♥

I haven't read a Rachel Robinson book in a while. And I'm sad if I've missed anything as good as this one! This was SO GOOD. I have to say this is not at all what I expected.
The story moved along a lot quicker than I expected for it being a two parter. And yes, you end on a bit of a cliffhanger, but I feel like a few questions were answered.
Maeve is nursing a broken heart. She lost the love of her life and buried him on their supposed to be wedding day. Navy seals are far from her dating pool these days, only when Lincoln walks in her heart stutters and she just knows she won't say no to him.
Some strange things start happening. Maeve doesn't have enemies, but maybe Lincoln does.
I loved their story and how it intertwined with the past and present of their lives, including their heartbreak and the current drama. Definitely a one sitting kind of book because you can't put it down.

Whoa...this us the first book by Rachel Robinson I've read and it won't be my last. This book was a great mix of heart, angst, love and the unexpected.

Maeve is the surviving widow to a Navy SEAL. She moved to Colorado for a new start. She's finally settled into her new life when one little six year old patient and his father walks into her office. Lincoln Wilds is a single father who's sole focus is to raise his son and do his job as a Navy SEAL. He's taken by surprised by his feelings for Maeve. She was the Flash Bang thrown into his life when he wasn't expecting it.

These two arrive in this relationship broke and unsure. But slowly, they learn to open up and love one another. I liked how they became each other's strength. They would need that strength and love to get through the biggest challenge of all.

This was a solid read. If it weren't for work and family life, I would have devoured this book in one sitting.

I'm looking forward to reading the second book.

Flash Bang by Rachel Robinson is part one in the Summit Seduction (romantic suspense) Duet. Rachel's writing style captivates my attention from start to finish because she's masterful when it comes to weaving pieces of an intricate puzzle throughout the storyline.

Maeve and Lincoln's connection was everything I hoped it would be, a subtle attraction that grew and wasn't forced, given her feelings toward dating another Navy Seal. There was plenty of sizzle laced throughout, and after that stunning cliffhanger, I have so many questions . . . So I'll be just sitting over here anxiously awaiting On His Six for what I can only assume will be an epic ride based on how the ending left my jaw on the floor.

Oh, and if Mauve ever sells her home, I would snap up that fictional home in a heartbeat!

This is the 1st in a new series and is Lincoln and Maeve’s story. Maeve moves to Colorado for a fresh start and opens her practice there as a paediatric physical therapist. Linc is a Navy Seal and single dad to Tucker an adorable 6-year-old, and when Tucker has a fall of the monkey bars, he needs therapy to help him walk again. There is an attraction between Linc and Maeve, but they have both been burnt in the past, and she is not sure about becoming involved with another seal who is due to leave on deployment soon. This is a well written story which is emotionally charged, and with engaging and realistic character, and has friendships, suspense, mystery, twists, and is a sweet tale which pulls at the heartstrings. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series, and I highly recommend this talented author’s work.

That moment when you realize that you are reading a duet, that painful moment you encounter a cliffhanger you weren't expecting. Kind of like that dream we've all had of falling, and then just as we hit the ground, we wake up. Yeah, that's how I felt tonight finishing this book. Honest, I thought it was a series---no biggie though, I'm invested now, and I need to know what happens.

Maeve is a very cool and capable Physical Therapist who has tragedy in her past. She meets Lincoln and his son Turner, and despite her walls, she falls for the two of them. There is an unexpected thread that handily morphs this just romance into romantic suspense. Hence our cliffhanger. And it is a doozy of a cliffhanger. Flash Bang is a steamy read with good guys, mystery, wonderful setting, cute kid, adorable dog, and really likable characters. Read it and get ready for the flashbang ending!
