An inescapable fate. Six men. One path to freedom that comes at a cost. I’d served at Stonewell manor for most of my life, but what I once considered a safe haven in our dangerous world, now feels like a prison. One fateful deal between the Stonewell family and the infamous Cyler Black had me moving across the country to a province with six fierce leaders—The Dormas Leadership Council. They challenged me to find happiness in my new home, but I couldn’t avoid the budding attraction I felt toward each of them. Cyler, the protective leader. Huxley, the broody outcast. Jacob, the flirty hero. Kemper, the intellectual perfectionist. Maverick, the wise healer. & Patrick, the playful castaway. I was ready to escape the chains of my past and pioneer a new future, but politics, deceit, and evil threatened to ruin my new life. It’s up to us to save the world. I’ve found my wings, and with the help of my men, I’ll learn to fly.
Author Coralee June has always been passionate about storytelling and impressed by the influence it has on people and the decisions they make in life. She loves engaging with the projects she works on, diving headfirst into developing real, raw, and relatable characters that are equally flawed and beautiful. Coralee lives in Dallas, Tx with her husband and two daughters. She's been known to frequently indulge in boxed red wine and day-old pizza. When she's not writing, June is reading or substitute teaching at the local middle school.
This epic series introduced us to the amazing voice that is CoraLee June just over three years ago- a series coincidentally foretelling since it deals with a pandemic. Her writing style has evolved over time, but this series introduced us to the hallmarks that make CLJ such a unique and compelling voice in the romance world.
Cora is a visionary- she’s unafraid of the unconventional story, she finds beauty in complex dynamics. It’s why her stories are spellbinding. Cora is a rule breaker- she cleverly and unabashedly colors outside of the lines- defies tropes, breaks romance “rules,” and she takes risks. It’s why she’s one of the most versatile writers out there- she’s always challenging herself and her readers. Cora is a character writer- she understands and develops her characters with such passion and artistry. It’s why her characters have such nuance and dimension, why they are unforgettable, and why they impact us deeply emotionally. And, Cora has a point of view- her stories are always entertaining, but they have profound depth and meaning that undergird everything. It is why her stories move us, why they stick with us.
This series is nothing like what you think it will be- this is not the Walking Dead. This is dystopian entertainment that is also complex and emotionally resonant. This is a sexy reverse harem with a serious slow burn. This is a story about a society beyond the norm, a new normal, but still bound by rules- yet, Cora writes a story that breaks all the rules. A story that exists in demise of a world we know, in which story builds an entirely new one.
If you love Cora's later work or are new to her, give this series a shot. There is not anything like it out in the world of romance- a true testament to CLJ's creativity.
Years ago this was my first ever read by Coralee June and it's safe to say I was hooked from the beginning. Granted, the world (2020) has since blessed us with a very similar plot. Nevertheless, I was really excited for this series to be released in a boxset and used it as an excuse to reread this series.
Dystopian series are a hit or miss for me, but this one was a hit. Lately my husband has been binging a popular dystopian series (TWD) and every time I accidentally watch it, I'm reminded of how much I do not like the series at all because I miss a solid plot and development. Well, the Walker series has it in spades. I love the growth of these characters throughout the series and the world building that was so beautifully done.
This series sent me on an emotional journey where people fight to right the injustice that is going on. It makes for a great distraction from everything that's going on in the world and provides you with an amazing ending.
At the heart of this story is a girl who was forced to live a life she never asked for.
Her only saving grace was Josiah. The boy whom gave her moments, but created memories that would last a lifetime.
As soon as Cyler Black walked into the Stonewall mansion where she lived, everything changed. Freedom was a word to taste and not just dream of...
Oh wow what an epic journey this series takes us on!
Five fantastically mesmerising books all in one glorious boxset. Lock the door, hang the Do not Disturb sign and get ready to well and truly lose your heart.
You will meet characters that will consume you whilst squeezing out every emotion going whilst the villains of the story will fill you with a hate like no other.
Are you ready for this? it's a bumpy journey that is full of grit and drama, love and unique friendships.
It's an unforgettable five star series. It's as simple as that really.
I love CoraLee June books. The characters are always well developed, the story solid, the plot attention holding. I enjoyed this series and I’m glad I got to read it as a whole.
“And now I’m here, surrounded by freedom and respect. I’m just not sure what to do. I don’t know who I am” - Wings of a Walker: The Complete Walker Series, CoraLee June
Ashleigh was timid but strong. I enjoyed watching her grow throughout the series. When she felt she had freedom and then it was ripped from her, I was devastated. I loved the guys. Huxley. Oh man. Hux was my favorite. This was a great series that I would recommend if you love a slow burn and sweet moments, but big adventure and suspense work for you too.
It did feel sadly similar to what is going on in the world today, and that was a little Twilight Zone to me, but I still enjoyed the story and CoraLee June is an excellent story teller.
I push myself to keep reading. Im stubborn like that.. Book 1 was interesting, 2nd book is OK. 3rd book was when I get started to not care.. When they said this is a slow burn, no shit, no sex till the 4th freaking book and when maverick and Ashley actually went for it, so ducking vanilla sex. All those ducking building up for nothing. Also I kept reading hoping ash will grow a backbone and do something special to bring the bad guys down but I just got tired of round and round story, by the 4th book I'm already a skimming pages because of how boring it gets.. the fmc has nothing especial about her, calling her a queen of walker for actually doing nothing was upsetting. I love the guys but I think they deserve better. All I can say is, this story could have been made into 1 to 2 books and be done with, nope let's make it 5 and drag the story with recycled scenes. DNF...
This review is for the series. I really like the premise of this, especially because it's mirroring the pandemic of the world in an interesting way. It has all the dystopian earmarks; class system, race for the vaccine, rebellious factions, power hungry dictators, unrequited lust and all consuming love. Whilst it was a very slow burn with the harem it was still spicy at times. Whilst it was mostly proportionate to the story line, the relationship development was too slow come book 3. The story was great and nice twists, I can see this playing out as a netflix series.
Dystopian goodness with an RH twist. I loved Ash and her men. I loved Mia. I adored Tallis. I do NOT like Jules. (Oh. Boo boo. My brothers sent me to boarding school. Boo boo. Nobody loves me so I’m going to treat everyone like dirt. Nope. Sure. She is stronger and independent at the end, but there’s just no redeeming some people.) I absolutely love these boxset releases for a whole series. Good work all around! 💜
Reading the title of the first book, I clearly thought this was a book about Zombies. I'm so glad I was wrong and gave it a chance. Ash is not like other heroines and I'm here for it. I liked that she was naive but fiercely strong. She is loyal. The guys!!! Don't get me started on the six of them. If you're looking for a dystopian, slow burn, reverse harem, then this book is right up your alley. It's a great read.
This book has characters that you fall in love with.
I loved this series. The characters were all so different and yet still relatable. The story was told on a way that you can see it in your mind as you read the book. I have already recommended this book to several fellow readers.
I absolutely loved this series. The story was very intriguing and kept me captivated. I could stop turning the pages to see what happened next. I loved how she wasn’t treated like a walker by her men, I loved the unique relationships with her. I just loved this whole story!
Watching the characters growing thru the books and it's intense moments were wonderful. Downside it's 2020 and a zombie like virus with the world ending...kinda to close to home
This boxset includes all five books in Coralee June’s Walker series, which is a slow-burn RH romance in a sort of post-apocalyptic setting. Wings of the Walker was the first Coralee book I read and since then, I’ve been hooked. Ash is a Walker, someone with immunity from a deadly virus that wiped away a large portion of the population. Because of her Walker status, Ash has been discriminated against in society and finally comes into her own when she leaves her home and meets Cyler, Jacob, Maverick, Huxley, Patrick, and Kemper.
This series packs a big punch with non-stop action, intrigue, romance and plenty of steam. I highly recommend this series!
I really enjoyed this series. Totally kept me engaged from the first book right through. The plot twists I did not see coming. There was nothing about this series I did not enjoy!
A totally outstanding series that’s all together in one book.
All the feels got reading this. The world building is amazing. I adore the characters. Ash and her men have amazing chemistry, a strong bond and all are fiercely protective of each other.
I absolutely adored this series, can’t recommend it enough. I couldn’t put it down.
