As someone who finds the true crime genre interesting I knew I had to give this book try.
Spilt into 3 sessions (A Q&A, Facts and Figures then a a trivia quiz {answers included}) I did find this book interesting to read. It was one that took me time to get through as I kept coming and going with it.
I found the book jumped around a bit and the questions/facts on similar topics could have been grouped together for an easier read.
I liked the fact there’s a trivia quiz at the end of the book, I’ve not seen that before, nice touch.
Overall, an interesting read if you are interested in the topic.
I am a professor when it comes to the study of useless information and this is one of my favorite textbooks. I especially love the trivia quiz and the cheat sheet. They also have factoid and things you didn’t know you wanted to know about serial killers the whole book is very entertaining and I highly recommend it! A fabulous entertaining book!
The facts lacked organization and, in some cases, context. One or two of the facts weren’t about serial killers, so I wasn’t sure why they were included. On the plus side, the writing was clear and interesting when all the context was there.
Bought at Tropetastic in Adrian, MI. yesterday (MayDay 2026) Already don't like it. The misogyny reeks on page 31. Now if there was relevant information on the FATHERS of these killers, I would say it wasn't. But again, these jerk-authors are dumping the responsibility of defective offspring on the mother.
I see one later stat where it talks about the number of fathers who left the home. That means nothing. Even in homes where the faher is present, the mother is usually still a single parent. The father is dismissive of the children unless they're specifically bothering the father. Then they yell at the children for bothering them, yell at their femae partner for ALLOWING his children to bother him, then telling her she needs to baysit his kids better.
Most kids are better of after momdivorces dad and subsequently kicks him out of her house. It's typically more peaceful and less work for mom, who usually areay has a full-time job elsewhere. Maybe you, instead of blaming mom, should look into how neglectful fatherhood affects children who end up being serial killers. Cuz with that sta, you have a LOT more information to utilize.

I found this underwhelming due to the lack of organization - jumping all over the place different killers seemed so random. I wish all the Dahmer facts were together for example. The facts themselves are OK - but often assume knowledge of the killers beforehand, so you don't get as much context.
