The following ratings are out of 5: Narration: 🎧🎧🎧 Romance: ❤️💙💜💚💛 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📙📕📗📘📔 World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌎🌍 Character development: 😌🤓😬😯🤗
The heroine:Dr. Sara Cobakis - she is sleep deprived, something happened to her husband George in some sort of auto accident. Sara feels a great deal of guilt over the accident. The whole thing about her husband is confusing at first. It is like he is in hiding or something.
The Hero(es):Peter Sokolov - he and his team are assassins that get over a million dollars a job. They are wanted by international authorities and between jobs they have been working through a list of people they are getting revenge on.
The Story: The book starts with the Hero suffering the loss of his wife and young son. At that time he worked for a special unit of the Spetsnaz, the Russian Special forces. In his job he did things like torture terrorists and his time with his wife and son kept some humanity in him. However, when they were taken from him, that died also and he lived for revenge
The book is in Dual POV and there were two narrators, neither of which I completely liked off the bat. I love a deep voice in a man and this guy had a very deep one, Though he sounded like he was a smoker, He had the kind of gravelly voice that isn’t sexy gravelly, but well past middle aged, longtime smoker gravelly. Though he did have a pretty good Russian accent There was nothing specific I didn’t like about the female narrator, but I think it was the way she spoke really fast and slowed down at the end of each sentence. It just didn’t sound natural.
Though it didn’t take too long to get used to the narration and the storylines were good. Anna Zaires does captive romance well and this one was all that and a bag of chips. It also included the characters from the Twist Me and the Capture Me trilogies. There is dubious consent, though I think that happens in many of the captive romance genre. There always seems to be the situation where the heroine wants to be intimate with the anti-hero, but she doesn’t want to want it. So despite her protestations, the intimacy happens and is justified because she technically wanted it even though she said she didn’t.
I must say though, I liked the dynamic between Peter and Sara. He knew early on that he loved her and though sometimes he wanted to hurt her, more often than not he treated her like a pampered princess. He did things like cook for her, brushed her hair, bathed her and more. Sara fought against his overwhelming possessiveness, but later admits she likes pain and being forced sometimes because of the guilt she feels for the feelings she has for Peter, who was a criminal.
I liked the love story and how it went. I like dark romance and captive romance. I like to read for enjoyment and don’t really like it when reviewers expect authors to set a good example by writing everything in a politically correct manner. We don’t expect that of authors of thrillers, murder mysteries, crime novels or other book types so why should we expect it of romance authors.
So, I read the complete series book version of this series but posted my reviews for each book separately.
These are my thoughts and reactions below.
BOOK 1 TORMENTOR MINE- 5 stars
Book 1 got me like 🤯🤯🥵🥵😱😱
On to book 2. Obsession Mine.
BOOK 2 OBSESSION MINE- 4 stars
Ugh!!! 🤬🤬 This book was crazy intense, but also filled with too many TSTL moments with our heroine, Sara.
I could seriously 🗡 cut this heffa till she bleeds like a stuck pig 🐽 She is the dumbest smart person I've ever encountered.
At this point, I'm wondering why our crazy a&& anti-hero, Peter, even wants her silly a&& to the intense degree that he does.
That being said this series is just way too addictive right now for me to stop reading. So much major stuff is occurring, and I must know the fall out.
So on to book 3, Destiny Mine, I skip, hop, and run to.
BOOK 3- DESTINY MINE- 5 Stars
Wow 🤯🤯😭😭🥵🥵🥵🥰🥰🥰
This 3rd installment was A-FREAKING-MAZING!!!🙌
My Russian Weapon with a 🖤, Peter, did not disappoint as always. It also helped that Sara FINALLY got her head out of her a&&. Praise Jesus for that🙏🏼
This one scared the mess out of me and broke my heart several times.
There's STILL one major issue that has now turned into a major threat for everyone. 👀 Running 🏃 to the final book, Forever Mine, to see the final fall out🤞
Read this series People! Start at the beginning.
BOOK 4- FOREVER MINE 4.5 Stars
4.5 ✨
***Very Mild Spoilers ***
I gave this one just shy of 5 ✨ because I didn't like the ending or Epilogue. It seemed so rushed with everything regarding Peter and Sara's HEA... Everything came so soon after that very intense, scary conclusion regarding Peter's last obstacle in his revenge for his family.
**Also, it sucked that Peter wasn't the one to be able to do it. After all this time. All these books, his whole purpose for even being in Sara's life to begin with, he wasn't allowed to dish out the final justice for his deceased family. I was sure he was going to be able to, when his last enemy chose to bring the fight to him later on in this series. But no. He wasn't the one to do so. So that sucked for me. Big time...☹️☹️
*Also, the Epilogue with everyone's kids was just 🥴 for me. I'm all for advanced children development, I have one of my own, but their (Peter and Sara's) 3 yrs. old daughter's cognitive and verbal responses were a bit too much for me to be believed. This child spoke and reacted like she was at least 8 and not 3.🧐
Other than that, this final book was on point with non-stop adrenaline, fear, heartbreak and 🔥
I have been totally consumed with all 4 of these books for the past 2 weeks. I would definitely recommend this series.
Debbie, my Sister from another Mister, THANK YOU FOR RECOMMENDING THESE CRAZY BOOKS! 🤗🤗🤗
I've been on a reading binge...figures, LOL, since I got a hold of this baby (a complete series of 5 books) wowza!!! So yeah, it was a huge bite, let me tell ya...but first of all, I somehow thought that I have already read this series in the past LMAO, well, I was obviously wrong...therefore, this baby bundle did its job...*wink*
Helly yes, this was dark, in the most primal sense of the word, yes, there are things you won't condone, duh...and you wouldn't in real life, trust me, no sane person would go for this extremely complicated relationship, if you follow the basic meaning of the word...
BUT that's the fabulous this with the fiction part of the deal, you know it's not real but you still kind of believe it to be, at least on paper, LOL, so yeah the obvious problem in these characters' relations is the borderline of everything, every feeling, every notion, every thought...all is tested, questioned over and over and over again, until it's imbedded in the very core of their being...so, imperfect and utterly flawed and immoral as they (well mostly H) are/is, it's all so perfectly written and displayed, every turnover, every doubt, every self-deprecating notion the heroine went through is valid and believable, as much as you can dwell into this fictional tale, the more you'll believe *wink*
3.75⭐️ “You hear me, Sara? No matter what happens, as long as there’s breath in my body, I will come back for you. You are mine, ptichka. For as long as we’re both alive.”
This series was four books long, AKA enough books to make me feel like I was also getting stockholm syndrome alongside the fmc.
In a good way though, I did finish the whole series in less than a week.
It follows Peter, who is ex-Russian special forces turned fugitive on the hunt to kill a list of people that played a hand in the murder of his wife and young son. It’s because of this list he meets Sara who is the wife of one of the men on this list. By “meets”, I mean he tortures her for her husband’s location so he can kill him. Except instead of moving on after, he becomes obsessed with Sara instead.
It’s easiest to explain these books by stages: - Book 1: stalker obsession begins, but no kidnapping yet. - Book 2: full blown kidnapping, no more gentle stalking. - Book 3: fmc realises she’s deep in stockholm syndrome. - Book 4: action, more action, and a perfect happy ending.
If you like your mafia books with stalking, kidnapping, russian possessive mmc’s, and so much spice you’ll need to rinse your eyeballs out, then you should definitely read this book.
BUT before you do, make sure you read the Twist Me trilogy first, because we get some character cross over and it makes the experience so much better. It also introduces you into how dark Anna Zaires mafia books can get.
The issues I have with this series. 1. The female narrator 2. The spicy scenes aren’t written well. We were told what happened rather than writing the experience of what happened. 3. There was no rollercoaster ride of emotions. It was mundane and repetitive. No passion 4. The FMC was boring.
The only slightly redeeming quality is the MMC and the male narrator. Everything else fell flat
If you’ve thought of reading the book “Tormentor Mine”, just grab this and get the whole series in one go-you’ll thank me later😄 By Chapter 3, you’ll be shocked and hooked into Peter and Sara’s story! It’s a dark romance/action thriller rolled into one. I was absolutely riveted throughout. My good friend *~*Princess Nya*~* and I buddy-read this together and had a great time comparing notes!🫣🙈🤯🥰🤗
It became my favorite. Much better than Twist Me series. I love how Peter is direct on the conversations when there's a problem. He cares a lot on what Sara wants when you compare to other morally grey characters.
It’s really truly over. This series, THIS SERIES was my introduction to WAY darker “romance” than I was used to reading. So much so that I remember back when I started reading Twist Me, I actually stopped reading (& was really messed up about it btw) after the 3rd or 4th chapter and didn’t pick it back up until over a year later. THAT big of a reaction to this dark DARK genre. I needed to be lead into it from the shallows, not thrown in the freaking deep dark great white infested depths of the deep end!!! I slowly made my way back to this type of read and it popped up in my feed and boy am I ever glad it did!
Starting with Twist Me and ending with Forever Mine…sigh, I found so many new aspects of awesome writing and about myself! This series has broadened my mind to an entire new WORLD of authors and books and I’m Forevever evermore grateful because of it.
Anna Zaires knows how to toe the FINE line between darkness and passion, love and obsession, hope and hate. Nobody does it like her, it is a unique talent in my opinion! There is no comparison, period!
Peter and Sarah were so different from each other yet so much alike. Peter taught Sarah she had a straight up savage side to her that alarmed her at 1st but when she stopped being in denial and embraced the darkness? She was able to open her heart to love and light and embrace it! In turn Sarah helped Peter melt his heart with her warmth and light by teaching him to love again and have hope that there is more than revenge out there. I loved the CRAZY unreal level of Peters’ obsession for Sarah, he almost put Julian to shame and that’s saying a lot! The smexy scenes about burned up my freaking pages like no other!! 🔥🔥💦💦🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 All these men: Julian, Lucas & Peter are now my barometer for acceptable / expected obsession (which would get the average man thrown UNDER the jail for the insane level of stalking this trio did to their respective ladies. Super freaking. 🔥🥵🤪😮💨😍 & I love it! Lol
All in all the greatest dark series ever and there’s still more to come with Anton’s story so can’t wait for that one. This series is on my ultimate fav list and a no brainer reread (though it’s a freaking juggernaut of a series so keep that in mind before you start)! I could do it again. Thanks again Anna, for sharing your art and mastery of the written word! You are a Goddess!!!
The narrators too brought this book to LIFE! This series narrator paring was my fav of the 3, hands down. I really felt ALL the different emotions Tracy Marks & Sebastian York brought to the table as well as the different characters. They didn’t over sell it, which is beautiful as I hate it when narrators do so. These two brought their A game, as always. I love listening to them both anytime I ever see either of their names listed on a audible I want to read I already know it will be an enjoyable listen…whether I end up liking the book or not 🤣😂! They truly are spot on and really made this story come alive. Thank you both as well!
Too repetative, could have been a 500 page book instead of 1000+ pages spread into four books.
Really didn't like the female main character she kept over thinking about the SAME thing for four books straight, which was trying not to fall in love with her captor who also happens to be the man who killed her husband.
Now, I don't know why she cares ? Her husband raided a small village and helped kill women and children, including the wife and small child of our hero, which is why he seeks revenge against her husband along with all the others who helped kill his family. She didn't even have a relationship with her husband for 5 years anyway, she was going to file for divorce because her husband was an alcoholic, they had no real relationship, and she wanted out. So why she keeps pushing the hero away for 4 books is just way too dragged out.
She's constantly thinking of escaping this hot, tall, muscular guy who treats her like a princess, is an amazing cook, a millionaire, and worships the ground she walks on. Life has done him dirty from birth, his parents threw him in an orphanage where he was abused and had to listen to other children getting beat up and sexually abused, he watched his best friend who was just a child die and be sexually abused, as he gets older the only happiness he had was his family who got snatched from him, you'd think after all he endured that she'd feel some sympathy for him and given her attraction to him she'd fall in love and it'd be a wrap up a lot sooner...

Ok question, why I didn’t read these books sooner? Anna Zaires owns me completely and I am not even mad. I read both Capture Me and Tormentor mine in just 7 days and when I mentioned this to my sister, she was eyeing me all worried. Please don’t worry, I just have Peter and Lucas in my heart.
I enjoyed all these books so much! I just couldn’t stop reading and when I did, I went back to the slump – hello, my old friend – zone. Every time I finished a book, Anna made sure to finish it with a heart dangerous cliff-hanger, lucky me I didn’t have to wait.
I can’t choose which book I loved the most, definitely, all of them are very dearly to me. I just loved the transition of Peter and Sara’s story. Tormentor mine, Obsession mine, Destiny mine, Forever mine – all these titles have my heart.
As always, Peter’s endearments are engraved in my heart – Ptichka, my Sara, my love, I need a Peter in my life. My heart did a doki doki when Sara said ‘my Peter’ it was just one time in the whole series but nevertheless, it was special.
I’ll absolutely read the Twist me trilogy!! I was having second thoughts in Capture Me but Tormentor Mine did it for me about Nora and Julian. I can’t wait for it~~~
Warning, spoilers.
I definitely hope we can have second-generation books! Charlie and Bella are giving me grumpy H + shy h, secretly pining for each other vibes, not to forget to mention about Lizzie, Matteo, and Maya <3 So excited!!
This. This is the type of dark romance I look for. It’s not a quick read -thank goodness!- and this allows for a full, detailed and developed story. From start to finish, this story develops, unfolds and builds while the reader is absolutely enthralled and dragged along for a hell of a ride.
Peter was the kind of amazingly complex character that I’ll be looking for, for years to come. But I know I’ll end up just rereading this series (this author) gleefully. Totally focused on whatever he’s decided to do, to take care of, to address. Tragically flawed, and unapologetic. The kind of character that stays with you.
Sara was wonderfully believable. Her push and against and resistance to Peter simply made sense. Written in a way that didn’t make me start to feel sorry for Peter. She was smart, wants TSTL, reasonable and caught up in something she never could have prepared for.
And then the story. Fantastic, somehow absolutely believable and so. Very. Hawt. This was amazing read. This series is well worth the time for fans of this romantic genre. And frankly, I can see as a possible introduction to new readers of the dark. However, that’s at your own risk and any dislike of the genre -not the writing or story- definitely shouldn’t reflect on the author or in the review.
I have no words! I started out reading the Tormentor series, but quickly figured out it was the end story and story all on its own. So…I had to stop and start reading the Twisted Series, followed by the Captured series, then finally back to the Tormentor series. Omg! I’ve spent almost 2weeks going through these three series. So unimaginably complex and inter woven, I don’t think I’ve read anything quite like this before. Anna Zaire’s is an absolute genius. These stories are so well written I love all the characters in all three series. The men are absolute devils and the women are strong and feisty. I couldn’t put these books down. And now I’ve found the spin off series with the Twins. Yan will play the main character in this next series. I can’t wait to hit the treadmill tomorrow with his book.
Please please read these books. I wish they would be turned into movies, What a goldmine of pure writing and reading pleasure.
Tormentor Mine – 3 stars, I started out and it was interesting and I wanted to know what happened. About two-thirds of the way in, it was just repetitive and entirely too wordy with things unrelated to the story. I skimmed the last of part of the book
Obsession Mine – 2 stars, I tried to get into this, but much like the book before, same old, rinse and repeat, though, in different circumstances. Trouble is, I do want to know how the story plays out, hence the skimming, not the stopping.
Destiny Mine – 3 stars, still rather slow, but I did like Peter’s POV for the majority of the book, though I completely skimmed the last third as it was too convoluted to get to a single point
Forever Mine – not rated, I listened to the first 1 minute, realized it would be more of the same, and skipped forward to the epilogue.
The first and final book were so good. I would give them both 5 stars each. But the second and third were so boring and I seriously did not like Sara. Through the first 4 books she doesn’t accept peter’s love so at one point I got bored of her. I felt it was so pointless for Peter to pursue her. It was only at the end of the 3rd book she started warming up to him.
I enjoyed the writing so much irrespective of Sara’s character. The final book was so much action packed, nail-bitting and gripping with angst as it progressed.
Book one: I thoroughly enjoyed!! Definitely not something I suspected to dive right into, but it dark, intense, yet light, and kind of sweet. Book two: picked up right where Book one left off, and it was pretty good, it was nice to see old charcters from previous books. The final book, Book 3: honestly I'm not sure if it was around 60-70 percent , but the book should've just stopped there. I felt like the author was trying to rush everything out, and you kind of lost me along the way.
4.5⭐ Peter and Sara I've been reading this for 5 days from book 1-4. The transition of the story is so long and I thought there's nothing more could possibly happen but the book 4 all the drama and action is there ♥️♥️ . And I like the MMC because he finds a way to make it happen (the normal life that FMC wants) if he wanted to he would. And I like the FMC too because she doesn't accept in instant her situation. Love that the other characters from the previous books are here too with their children.
What an awesome amazing story! And one of the best parts.. it’s all here. I downloaded Peter and Sara’s story within the bundle so I could continue on reading every little bit. I was on the edge of my seat through many chapters and and fanning myself (lol) with the hottest inside. And catching up with past characters was great. Oh and did I mention how hot the hot scene are!? WHEW 🔥
I found myself here with Tormentor mine after I read the Twist me series. And let me tell you, I cannot decide which series I liked better. And I LOVED that they were connected.
Peter was so captivating (literally! haha) but also so sweet and caring. I felt like his character totally came full circle during this series. I loved it.
Sara was a great character as well. I did get a little annoyed by I know that it was to add drama to the story, but I felt like I was sure she felt one way and then she did something totally opposite out of NO WHERE. Totally threw me off.
That being said, I highly recommend this book! It hits in all the right feels. There are parts that will make you happy, sad, spicy, scared and just all the feels! This is a great ride of a series. I totally recommend reading this AFTER you read Twist Me. I think it would make more sense for you at the end of the last book, even though these are stand alone series. I felt so warm inside when the stories met together.
This contains all four books of the tormentor series.
I didn't realise until I was in the middle of book two that this series follows on after the Twist Me and Capture Me series, that was a very welcome surprise! It had been a while since I had read the previous two series and I didn't instantly recognise Peter's name (which I should have because of the list!).
I really enjoyed Peter and Sara's story, however I do think it ended a bit quickly with regards to Henderson, I wanted him captured and tortured and I wanted the details.
It was lovely to hear a bit more about Julian and Nora and also Lucas and Yulia.
This book has more plot than the other two in this series, and I love it. Peter is everything an alpha male should be. 🔥🔥🔥 Really, my only criticism is Sarah's singing. Especially during the japan safe house stay. You're telling me all these grown ass men are on their knees listening to her sing at the dinner table.💀Bffr, that was so cringe. Everything else I was obsessed with. Sarah fighting Peter every second of the way made her my favorite heroine.
I went into this thinking that there was no way Peter and Sara would keep my attention for 4 books and boy was I wrong. I devoured this and it was amazing. I was lowkey mad when the 3rd book was over and I realized that there was a whole new book after their “HEA” but then the 4th book was like a full length epilogue for all 3 couples, only it was from Peter, Sara, and bad guy’s POV.
Smut with depth! A great story with great characters! Personally, I loved how realistic and honest Sara’s character is. She knows that loving Peter is wrong in so many ways but ultimately allows herself to do so. Her self awareness is admirable and I thoroughly enjoyed Peter’s character as well.
Peter is cray crazy but I loved it 🥰. Poor Ptichka/Sara didn’t stand a chance. To say they started out rocky would be an understatement, Peter decided that he would take what he wanted and that was Sara. They both had horrible things to shape the people that they’ve become and we got to vividly see if they could make it work for them in the future.
Had everything about it that I like: Obsessive, protective hero; Smart and strong (not in too bad-assy kinda way) h; He gave up everything for her BUT not her; The over-protectiveness was just so 🥰🥰 And he was still ruthless just not to her
I just love how it over laps and brought in the other characters from previous books. I also liked how Sara and Peter's relationship evolved differently from the others. The amount of romance and action was captivating. Very hard to put down.
This story is, from beginning to end, exciting and unique, taking you to a world you never knew existed but are now convinced that it must. I never thought I'd ever want to be tormented or captured but my opinion may be changing!?!
