Gray clouds gather overhead as she runs along the dark road. Not a soul is out in the storm, or so she thinks. As the vehicle pulls up alongside her, she sees a familiar face behind the wheel and thinks she's safe. Little does she know, she has just put herself in unthinkable danger...

When local cheerleader, Laurie Turner, goes missing after practice and her bright red pick-up truck is found abandoned by the side of a quiet road, Detective Jenna Alton fears the worst.

Visiting Laurie's family house, Jenna senses that the teenager's home life isn't as perfect as her father would have people believe. Quick to temper and full of hatred toward Laurie's mother, Dr Turner doesn't seem to know the first thing about his own daughter, let alone how long she's been missing for.

With the clock ticking, the whole town takes to the streets to find the missing girl and, after a frantic search, a terrible discovery is made at the bottom of an old mine shaft on the outskirts of town. Laurie's pale body is totally still and Jenna is sure somebody in the local community is her killer.

When another cheerleader goes missing, Jenna thinks that someone close to the school is picking the teenagers off one by one. As she talks to the other students, it becomes clear that there are plenty of people who'd like to silence the girls forever.

Then her own deputy David Kane comes face to face with the murderer, and Jenna has to race to save him. Can she do so before it's too late? Or will another young life be taken?

Book 11.. my goodness. I don’t know how DK Hood doesn’t it but this series has no signs of letting up. I always look forward to a new instalment to the story of Black Rock Falls. As beautiful a place it sounds, I definitely would not want to live there. So many psychopaths in one area.

A missing teenage girl brings the team together in a bid to find her. They are too late and the body of the cheerleader is found murdered. Once again there are plenty of suspects. And you might think you have it all worked out but you will not know til the very end. It is not long before another cheerleader is found brutally murdered and the ra e is on to stop the killer... or killers as the evidence seems to suggest.

As always there is a heart stopping ending that will have you holding your breath. Fantastic, bring on 12.

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for my advanced copy of this book to read.

D.K. Hood keeps up this high calibre series with another winning novel. Building on past story arcs and developing new ones for readers to enjoy, Hood provides a stellar experience. When a teenage girl goes missing, citizens of Black Rock Falls begin a search party. Sheriff Jenna Alton is keen to see things resolved soon. When the girl’s vehicle turns up, things soon take a dire turn and a body is found. Sheriff Alton and her team try to piece together what is happening, particularly when other girls go missing. Could there be a duo working to rid the town of teen girls, or is this an obsessed single killer? Hood pulls out all the stops to ensure that this series will keep getting better.

When the clouds appear over Black Rock Falls, Montana, it looks like quite the storm. Laurie Turner is worried, as she tries to navigate the roads, but is soon assuaged when she sees a familiar face pull up in the vehicle next to her. Little does Laurie know, this smiling face will be one she soon associates with horror as as a pit of darkness opens.

Laurie’s father, Dr. Turner, soon reported her missing and is pressing Sheriff Jenna Alton to take action. When Laurie’s abandoned truck turns up, Sheriff Alton fears the worst and a search party begins scouring the town for any sign of Laurie. A body soon emerges, later identified as Laurie. Things soon spiral out of control, an emotional rollercoaster rushing into town, uninvited.

While Dr. Turner paints himself as being a stable father, Sheriff Alton and her team soon learn the darker side of the man. Rages and strict rules are all Laurie knows, as well as ranting about a mother who abandoned her. Laurie’s departure now makes more sense, though her murder still remains a mystery.

With the suspicion that someone in town is the killer, Alton and her senior deputy, Dave Kane, begin to piece things together, all in hopes that the killer’s identity will come to the surface. In the shadows, someone is planning another kidnapping, with similar outcomes. All this comes to fruition when another cheerleader goes missing.

With the intel they have, it seems as though there is a duo targeting cheerleaders, though Alton and Kane refuse to rush to conclusions. Whoever is out there, it is something worth investigation a little more, all to stop the killings, with motives that remain a mystery. Hood weaves a great tale that keeps the reader turning pages well into the night.

D.K. Hood does not rest as she develops strong mysteries with stellar police procedural undertones. The narrative remains strong as things take the story in many directions. I cannot help but wonder what is awaiting in the coming novels, as these have been so strong and left the reader to stay abreast of the action, or risk getting lost in the dust. Story arcs emerge and develop with ease, keeping the reader on the edge of their seats until the final reveal.

Character development is central to success in this series and D.K. Hood knows how to keep things fresh and evolving. Jenna Alton and Dave Kane have great layers, with missing links that need exploration. There is also the connection between them that keeps series fans guessing. Strong secondary characters provide entertainment and link the protagonists with ease, while also keeping the reader engaged with what awaits them in novels to come. Each novel adds more, while also keeping the questions emerging.

The series has found success with its plot twists and story arcs. There is always something happening that I did not see coming, providing excitement while I devour these novels. I cannot help but want more, not that Hood is holding out, but I love the style and seek further discovery. The novels are still coming and the series shows no sign of waning, leaving me eager to see where Hood will take things and how she plans to get there.

Kudos, Madam Hood, for making it a priority to showcase great writing.

Be Mine Forever is the eleventh instalment in the Detectives David Kane and Jenna Alton series, set in the small town of Black Rock Falls, Montana, aka Serial Killer Central. It's a stormy Saturday evening in Black Rock Falls and sixteen year old Laurie Turner has just finished cheerleading practice. She walks to her car, a 1950s Ford pickup, but it refuses to start and she had dropped her phone earlier leaving her only one option - to walk back to her home on Ravens Way alone and in the pitch black. She hurries along believing that someone might be following her but is it just her imagination? A car pulls up and Laurie is relieved to see a friendly, familiar face. He offers her a ride and she jumps into the passenger side of his Chrysler, but he drives past the turn for her street and takes her to the woods under the premise that he wants to see if the deer he saw earlier is dead. Once there another person appears in the backseat and slowly strangles her with a band. The following day her father, psychologist Dr Bob Turner, reports her missing and Sheriff Alton and Deputy Kane rush to his house to interview him. However, their guts tell them that something is off about his behaviour. He drinks and gets abusive and Laurie even had a heavy-duty bolt on her bedroom door. Kane and Alton start searching for the pickup and when they find it in the school parking lot it has been sabotaged - the battery cable had been removed rendering it useless.

Meanwhile, linesman Al Watson discovers her body while repairing a connection nearby and the team head to the crime scene out at Old Mines and are shocked at the sheer brutality of the killers. There are welts around her neck and multiple stab wounds to the face and chest, and it isn't long before they find the battered and bruised body of Laurie's estranged mother Jeanette Turner. As more bodies drop it appears the killers are taking out the cheerleading team one by one. Can the team get to the bottom of who is ruthlessly murdering the girls before the killers strike again? This is a scintillating and enthralling thriller from start to finish with plenty of drama, shocking secrets, lies, betrayal and duplicity. The twists and turns in the plot leave you breathless as the team search for answers and a race against time ensues to ensure the killers are identified and caught. The killers have clearly done this before as they have left very little in the way of evidence for the police to examine. Kane and Alton are intelligent and dedicated investigators but they are pitted against equally smart perpetrators. It was great to see FBI Agents Jo Wells, a top behavioural analyst, and partner Ex Navy Seal Ty Carter again as they had been drafted in to help solve this case as rapidly as possible. It also features Deputy Jake Rowley, medical examiner Dr Shane Wolfe and new recruit deputy Zac Rio, all of whom are superbly developed with a defined role to play. A compulsive, thrilling and engrossing story. Highly recommended.

Detectives Kane and Alton #11

When local cheerleader, Laurie Turner, goes missing after practice and her bright red pick-up truck is found abandoned by the side of a quiet road, Detective Jenna Alton fears the worst. With the clock ticking, the whole town takes to the streets to find the missing girl and, after a frantic search, her body is found. When another cheerleader goes missing, Jenna thinks someone close to the school is picking teenagers off one by one.

Wih plenty of suspects to choose from, Jenna and Dave have their work cut out to catch the kille before another cheerleader is murdered. There is a new member to the team, Rio, who i was a bit suspicous of. There's a few wdge of your seat moments in this fast paced read. It was nice to catch up with Jenna and her team again. This is one of best police procedural series that i've read.

I would like to thank #NetGalley, #Bookouture and the author #DKHood for my ARC #BeMineForever in exchane for an honest review.

Laurie Turner, a high school cheerleader, didn't make it home after a run. Her truck is found abandoned by the side of the road. Her body is later found at the bottom of an old mine shaft.

Laurie won't be the only cheerleader who disappears.

Detective Jenna Alton begins her investigation with a interview with her family. When Laurie's father seems to know nothing about her ... not when she went missing .. not she was wearing ... doesn't know her friends. He just seems .. disinterested.

Turning to Laurie's fellow students she finds that there are plenty of people who want to silence the cheerleaders forever.

And then someone close to Jenna falls victim to the murderer.

As with all the books in this series, this is well-written with an intriguing plot and compelling story line. This one is just a tad different, as a new Deputy is introduced and at the same time, bringing back some old FBI friends. I appreciate how this series has not grown stale and always holds the readers' attention.

The characters are solidly drawn and I really enjoy the blend of the professional lives with the personal. I like how they all interact with each other. The suspense starts from the first page and escalates until the unexpected conclusion.

Although 11th in the series, this is easily read as a stand alone, as are each of the books. The author has made sure to include enough information so that you don't get lost, but nothing that would take away the enjoyment of reading prior books.

Many thanks to the author / Bookouture / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

I swear each book just keeps getting darker and darker. What could be darker and sinister than this! I would love to know where Ms Hood’s ideas come from but I am also slightly worried too! I mean each book is fresh with ideas, murders and new people. I mean how are there still people to kill in this town!!!

We are back with the team! Yay! And it is nice being around them again, plus we welcome another new addition. This family is getting big and quick, some more people to be worried about! The new addition has their own skillset to bring to the table. And I must admit I am intrigued, especially with their photographic memory. However, it is always good to have a little element of caution. I mean this is the 11th book of the series, just wow. Yet, with all the backgrounds and the characters, you should definitely be reading the other books in this series.

This time, the victims are from the cheerleader squad! Someone really is not happy and they show this through the brutality of these deaths. Shocking for sure. Each time you think you know who the perpetrator is, you realise you aren’t even scratching the surface, as you spin around and around trying to get tot he bottom of it all. I.did not even try to guess this time because I just could not fathom who would do such callous and harsh things to these girls.

It is a tantalising and intense read by Ms Hood. I seriously do not know how she does it. It is a page-turner that lept me up late into the night. Just wow! I have bever been let down and I don’t think I ever will as long as Kane and Alton are on the case. They are as solid as they come, with the backup and tools at their disposal isn’t it about time for people to realise they will always get caught?

Bejeezus! D. K. Hood can write a cracking opener but this one takes the biscuit so far!! Of course walking home in your own in the dark, you’d get into a car driven by a familiar face. You’d be stupid not to…. that’s unless you live in Black Rock Falls!!

“Living in Black Rock Falls is a delight as well as a curse.”

Yes the dynamic duo of Dave Kane and Jenna Alton are back with their amazeballs supporting cast. And there is a new addition to the team too… Zac Rio! Will this city boy be up to the trials of Black Rock Falls?? Only time will tell.

Anyhow, this time round, some dastardly persona is targeting the school cheerleading squad. Yes we have someone who really hates the peppiness (is that a word) of the cheerleaders … I’ll admit, there are days I can’t stand the cheeriness of others but not enough to bump them off… no I’d have reasons but not for their cheery disposition…

Hood has yet again created a tense crime thriller that jumps between the investigation and insights into the villainous mind of a killer. I don’t know how this woman keeps coming up with new and creative ways of killing her victims without it feeling like a replica of something she’s done previously or something someone else has done. I don’t actually care because I love this series and it just gets better with each book. Please don’t stop!! #KaneAndAltonAddict

How have I missed so many great books in this series I have no idea but I know that I’ll be looking up the previous ten stories. I had no problem reading it as a stand-alone so don’t shy away from starting it.
Jenna and David are a perfect team for the department and when they need to catch a killer, there’s nothing done halfway through, they just go for the kill even when their own life is in danger.
When a cheerleader is reported as a missing person, their police procedural abilities begin to shine.
Twist after twist and secret after secret, this story kept me guessing throughout the book and holds a fast-paced game at all times. I had my doubts of who were the guilty ones in here but the author had a great ability to keep me intrigued and added more suspense overall.
Don’t miss out on a great story.

This is my first time reading a book in this series, when I requested it from NetGalley I had no idea it was part of a series so was quite nervous to be starting a book so deep into a series.

This did not matter, by the end of the book I still felt completely connected to the characters, glad they were all ok and proud for cracking such a hard case.

This book was exceptionally written, it was quite a slow burner – it didn’t exactly keep me on the edge of my seat but it kept me hooked enough to want to continue to read and I NEEDED to find out who was at the forefront of the killings.

I guessed pretty early on who I thought was behind the killings and was correct, BUT the way the author wrote the book I was constantly in doubt that I was wrong. There were always numerous suspects and was not really given away much as to why they were.

This was a great read and will definitely look into backtracking and reading the rest of the series.

Wow what an absolutely fantastic read! I sat and read this in one sitting I loved it. Love the way the characters are progressing with their relationships and the story line was a cracker. Had me totally sucked in and engaged from page one right through to the end. This is DK Hood at her very best. If I could give this more than 5 stars I would!

I repeat. Read this series. This Author never disappoints. Book 11 and as engrossing as the 1st book was. How does she do it? We have cheerleaders going missing and turning up dead. Typical for Black Rock Falls and a mystery for the team to solve. Great new character as well. Thanks to NetGalley, Bookoutre and the Author for allowing me to read and review this book.

Be Mine Forever is the eleventh book in the police procedural series featuring Detectives David Kane and Jenna Alton. I picked up this series with Whisper in the Night (book 6) and I also thoroughly enjoyed books seven through to ten.

Set in Black Rock Falls, Montana, Sheriff Jenna Alton makes a very likeable detective. Jenna has a good team to handle crime in the small town, which has certainly seen more than its fair share of murders! Her deputy, David Kane is a former Special Forces marksman with exceptional profiling skills.

In this instalment, cheerleader Laurie Turner vanishes after a practice session, but Jenna isn't duly concerned, until her red pick-up is spotted, having been abandoned and sabotaged. Visiting Laurie's father, psychologist Dr Bob Turner doesn't seem to know much about his daughter, let alone for how long she has been missing. Laurie's body is later discovered in a remote area, with stab wounds to the chest and face and welts on the neck area. Jenna thinks it's likely that locals are responsible until another cheerleader's body is found...

The novel is told in alternating chapters and the reader hears from the investigators and the perpetrator adding weight to its creepiness. This novel was an electrifying and solid police procedural and it was a well-balanced thriller that had me glued to the pages. I didn't want to put it down as I was desperate to know the outcome of the story. Despite Black Rock Falls being a small place, Jenna and her team, including newbie deputy Zac Rio, were still left with a lot of work to do in the very high-octane case. This really was a spectacular crime-thriller that grabbed me hook, line and sinker. The team embarked on an exciting and exhilarating mission to find the perpetrator and all the time the tension snowballed as D.K. Hood launched at me some captivating misdirection. The writing flowed effortlessly and swiftly in a story rich in drama, shocking secrets, lies, betrayal and duplicity, culminating in an explosive, heart-pounding conclusion.

I will be seeking out the first five instalments of this masterful series. A brilliant, compelling, pulse-pounding and very highly recommended crime-thriller.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Bookouture via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

Be Mine Forever is book eleven in the Detectives Kane and Alton series by D. K. Hood. Deputy Sheriff Kane and Sheriff Alton were having a lovely Sunday afternoon with friends when Sheriff Alton received a 911 call about a missing girl, Laurie Turner. Deputy Sheriff Kane and Sheriff Alton were hoping they would find the teenager; however, that was dashed when a worker at an old banded mine discovered her body. The investigation was hindered by not having any evidence or reason for the murder and became a race to find the answer after the attack on the Deputy's wife and another young girl died. The reader, Be Mine Forever, will continue to follow Deputy Sheriff Kane and Sheriff Alton to discover what happens.

Wow, Be Mine Forever is another fantastic book by D. K. Hood, which kept me glued to my chair until the last page. It continues the tradition of engaging with D. K. Hood's stories and characters. I love D. K. Hood's portrayal of her characters and their interaction with each other throughout this book. Be Mine Forever is well-written and researched by D. K. Hood. I like D. K. Hood's description of the settings of Be Mine Forever, which allowed me to imagine being part of the book's plot.

The readers of Be Mine Forever will understand the importance of photographing a crime scene for a law enforcement investigation. They will also learn about the protein troponin and how it affects people with a heart attack.

I recommend this book.

I love this series so much and this book definitely did not disappoint.
Jenna and Kane have their hands full when a teenage girl is reported missing and soon found dead. It seems she was strangled and her body left at the local mine.
Laurie was a cheerleader and was last seen getting in a truck after her own vehicle broke down.
Another cheerleader is then found murdered and the team know they need to pull out all the stops to catch the killer.
Theres a new addition to the team and he fits in perfectly with the others.
I loved this book as it was like catching up with old friends and there’s a few shocks in store in this one.
This is a fantastic story and is part of a brilliant series that I will continue to follow.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

Author D.K. Hood never fails to showcase the most depraved of crimes & criminals in her books. This installment of the series is no different. It's chillingly tense & nerve wracking. This whodunnit kept me reading late into the night & early into the morning. A psycho couple on the loose in Black Rock Falls has the entire department working their backs off especially because the victims were so young. Jenna & Kane are a dream team working these cases to put the killers that plague this idyllic town behind bars for good. Yes, the novels are fantastical in a sense that its not statistically possible to have so many serial killers making this one town in Montana their hunting grounds & the 'technology' also seems a bit too far fetched, BUT i somehow still like all the books including this one. They're atmospheric & absolutely nail biting. I love the plots & how they unravel but above all I love the characters! I love how every book manages to capture every shade of psycho. And so many more remain *evil laughs
Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture & D. K. Hood for this arc!

When local cheerleader, Laurie Turner, goes missing and her pick-up truck is found abandoned by the side of a quiet road, Detective Jenna Alton and David Kane are on the case but are too late to save her. With another cheerleader missing, can Alton and Kane be able to save her or will they run out of time ?

Be Mine Forever by D.K.Hood is the 11th book in the police procedural Alton and Kane series. I love this addictive series with great lead characters, well thought out plots with twists and turns and excellently paced writing . Looking forward to reading the next one .

I would like to thank Bookouture & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

Another nail biting instalment to the series. We follow the team as they investigate a murder of a high school cheerleader. I like that we see the procedure of things, the to-Ing and fro-Ing of trying to make sense of the evidence and the suspect list.

it’s uncomfortable seeing the POV from the killers but it gives greater depth to the story. Also makes the reader know more than the sheriff and her team.

There’s a new team member, familiar faces, and a growing cautious step at a relationship between Alton and Kane. I like how their personal and professional relationships are real with ups and downs. It’s nicely woven in.

Disclaimer: while I know the author personally, this doesn’t affect the star rating.

Be Mine Forever by D.K. Hood is the 11th in the Detectives Kane and Alton series.

First, let me thank NetGalley, the publisher Bookouture, and of course the author, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Series Background:   (Warning – May contain spoilers from previous books)
Former DEA, Jenna Alton is now the Sheriff in Black Rock Falls, Montana.  Her past is a secret.  Deputy David Kane's background is also a secret.  He was a Special Forces sharpshooter, and a bodyguard to the President.  Then there is Forensic Scientist Shane Wolfe, who is not only a Medical Examiner with amazing computer skills, he used to be Kane’s handler. So, with a few other deputies, Jenna has a good team to handle crime in the small Black Rock Falls town, which seems to have more murders than a small town should.

My Synopsis:   (No major reveals, but if concerned, skip to My Opinions)
When Laurie Turner goes missing after cheerleader practice, Jenna pulls out all the stops to find her, but when they find her truck abandoned in the school parking lot and evidence of a smashed cellphone, they fear the worst.  They are right, as her body is soon discovered in an old mine shaft.

Laurie won't be the only cheerleader to go missing.  Jenna and Dave start to think that they are being targeted by a pair of ruthless killers.  They are also considering the possibility that the perpetrators may be fellow students.  Teenagers.

There are surprisingly more suspects than Jenna thought possible.

My Opinions:
Usually, the books in this series are a very fast read.  This one seemed much longer, but that could have been my exasperation with the characters.

I still have a problem with the dynamics between Jenna and her male deputies (Kane in particular).  I thought the author was getting away from the over-protective male dominance of her characters, but in this book, it was right in your face.  Jenna shouldn't have to constantly prove herself in every book.  This is getting really annoying.

With reference to the other characters, I still don't like Carter, and although it's nice to have the FBI drop in occasionally when needed, I hope they aren't an every book occurrence.  The whole idea of the books was a small-town sheriff battling crime.   I also find that Emily is becoming more annoying.  I do like Rowley and his wife, but I'm not a fan of the new Rio.

I probably wouldn't continue to read this series due to my dislike of the characters, but the plots are always good!  Really good!  As always, there was a lot of action, and a number of suspects to keep me interested.

So bottom line, I'm in it for the story.  I will definitely be reading the next one!

Be Mine Forever is book 11 in D.K. Hood's Detectives Kane and Alton series, and my first introduction to the characters and author. And what a great introduction it was. As this was a well-written and crafted story. That was packed full of suspense, twists, and turns not to mention it genuinely kept me guessing.

Furthermore, the protagonists were wildly intriguing and engaging, and I was completely hooked throughout.

And I can safely say I will be checking out the earlier books in this series as soon as possible.

Would happily recommend.

This book was very entertaining and you just have to feel sorry for the people of Black rock Falls. Everything bad seems to happen there.

This time they get to meet a new member to the team and I must say that was really fun to see.

Though you really see a lot more with Jenna and Dave this time you get the real feeling that they are something special.

I loved this book so much as I think it shows a great ability in this author to push through and after 11 books it still feels fresh.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of Be Mine Forever, the eleventh novel to feature Sheriff Jenna Akron and Deputy David Kane of the fictional Black Rock Falls, Montana Sheriff’s Office.

When cheerleader Laurie Turner goes missing after practice Jenna isn’t immediately worried as there is something not quite right about her father’s response but when Laurie’s sabotaged truck is found things change. When her body is found in a remote area it points to local knowledge and when another cheerleader disappears it points to something more sinister.

I enjoyed Be Mine Forever, which is another creepy tale from Serial Killer Central as Black Rock Falls has unaffectionately become known. The novel is told alternately from the investigative and perpetrator points of view and this is what gives it the creepiness. The author has outdone herself in her portrayal of cruelty and callousness and I could write a screed on how she’s captured the mentality but that would involve spoilers so I’ll refrain.

The plot offers the usual formula of dead bodies, psychopathic killer, puzzlement, a gradual narrowing in on a suspect aided by hi-tech forensics and finished with an action packed denouement. This is not a criticism as it means the reader knows what they are getting and each novel offers enough variety on the standard to be exciting and moreish. This novel has it all with the added subplot of more crimes and more dilemmas of how to make the cases stick. The novel is intended to be entertaining rather than realistic and it does a good job. I found myself glued to the pages.

The usual gang of overqualified investigators is all here. Sheriff Jenna Alton, not her real name, as she was relocated after her stint as a DEA undercover agent, gets to kick physical ass in this novel and it’s great. Deputy David Kane, again not his real name, relocated after stints as a sniper and top secret government agent, is feeling the pressure of his past. ME Shane Wolfe, formerly Kane’s handler, gets to use cutting edge technology. FBI agents Jo and Ty Carter, banished to Montana for various infringements, make an appearance and offer their skills. Now they are joined by newest deputy, Zac Rio, Californian wunderkind with knowledge beyond his 25 years and a photographic memory. Unrealistic but interesting. Characterisation is not a strong point in these novels, but it doesn’t have to be as the plot is the main thing.

Be Mine Forever is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending.

I really can't believe that we are up to book number 11 in the Detectives Kane and Alton series! These are one of my very favourite police duos, but I have to say wild horses coudn't drag me to live in Black Rock Falls, Montana it sounds a stunningly beautiful place to live in but nonetheless it's still blinking dangerous.

As always it's great to catch up with Sheriff Alton, Kane, ME Wolfe, Rowley and the rest of the squad to top it off the dastardly duo Wells and Carter from the FBI came down to the fall festival and so were happy to muck in and out lol. There's a new member of the team for us to meet, Rio who like them all has his own unique ability which is integral to solving this murder. Let's not forget Deputy Jake Rowley and his wife Sandy who are all prepared for the big event (birth of their first child) and from the getgo I knew that Sandy would be playing a larger part in this instalment and my heart was in my mouth the whole time for that alone.

It felt strange to read about Black Rock Falls during the warmer times but #BeMIneForever lets us know that it still not a safe place, that the nutjobs to play there all year round. I guess the sheer size of the place gives them plenty room to play in, plenty of We find ourselvers meeting Sheriff Alton and Detective Kane on the run up to their fall festival which sounds far more fab than it should probably because it feels as if we won't be anything this year #Covid. There's a new Deputy in town and he goes with by the name of Rio but he just doesn't sit right with me, he watches Jenna and David like a hawk., I know that Wolfe recommended and trusts him but he makes me feel uneasy. When he questions Dave about some of the things he does, about some of his mannerisims and his blank face moments. I'm not sure why I don't like him but I think he could be instrumental in either Jennas Daves or even Wolfes cover being blown.

When teenage cheerleader Laurie Turner went missing after practice, it soon became apparent that her home life left something to be desired, her father was a man with what's known as little mans syndrome and a woman hater to boot. Sadly her body was found horrifically murdered, little did they know that it would be the start of yet another killing spree in Black Rock Falls. It seems whomever it was seemed to have a serious grudge with the cheerleader squad more specifically the prettier girls. Although when push comes to shove the murderer has no qualms about dealing with whatever needs done and who ever needs dealt with. It's not going to be easy to catch he/she or even them as they appear to be forensically smarter than the average bear. There's an unusual element to the murders (absolutely no spoilers here) a more sleazy element one which I found strange in teenagers but obviously these proclivities have to start somewhere.

#BeMineForever is yet another instalment in a cracking police procedural and it's one of the few American authors that I read at the moment. I personally think these are better read in the correct order, there's a wealth of information about the characters and previous cases. If you haven't read this author you really are missing out on a cracker of a series.

Read an ARC for an honest review all thoughts are my own. Thank you to Ms D. K. Hood, #Netgalley @Bookouture

Be Mine Forever by D.K. Hood is the eleventh book in the author's Detectives Kane and Alton series. This author never disappoints. This story was another edge-of-the-seat thrill ride. Cheerleaders are going missing and turning up dead. Sheriff Jenna Alton and her chief deputy David Kane have a tough case to close. The killer is not leaving behind much in the way of evidence. These two main characters are great to follow on a case. They are both smart, dedicated and tough. It was great to see FBI Agents Wells and Carter again, as well as Deputy Jake Rowley and Medical Examiner Dr. Shane Wolfe and his crew. We also get to meet the new Black Rock Falls deputy Zac Rio. There's plenty of action and suspense to keep readers turning the pages until the final conclusion.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review.

I guessed entirely wrong for the cheerleader culprit and had no clue who the male companion was.
Hood sneakily threw a collection of bone clues out and unlike Duke and Zorro I chased each one of them to no avail.
Finally, Kane and Alton are getting together but their romance moves like Vermont molasses.

Be Mine Forever by D. K. Hood is the 11th book in the Detectives Kane and Alton mystery series, and my first book by this author. I really enjoyed this book, and it is fine as a stand alone, but if I have read the previous ten, I'm sure I would have a better understanding of the detectives. When a teenager goes missing after cheerleader practice, the detectives are called. There are so many secrets in this town, and some really disturbed people, it kept me reading page after page. So many twists and turns it was like riding a roller coaster. If you're looking for a fast paced thriller, than I strongly recommend this book. I will definitely be reading more books by this author, and I have 10 to catch up on.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Number 11 in the series and you’d be forgiven for thinking that yet another spree of murders in Black Rock Falls, during yet another festival in the town and yet more visits to Aunt Betty’s would lead to a series going stale, but you’d be so far from the truth. This series just gets better and better. It’s huge credit to the author that each instalment has been genuinely unputdownable. I think this is my favourite so far, though I’m pretty sure I said that about number 10 too! It’s great to be back in the company of Kane & Alton with their intriguing and clever back stories and even better that the series is kept so fresh by the character developments and introduction of new characters with their own stories to tell. The main plots rip along as the bodies mount up and with the time running out we have an amazing heart stopping finale.
“It would be unusual- but then unusual is usual in Black Rock Falls”

How can an eleven book series keep getting better?
Cheerleaders are dying in horrendous ways. We know it is a dominant female and a obedient male, but not exactly who they are. It is another rollicking read, which I devoured in a few days!
We do have a new deputy join the ranks. So now we will find out about him and his siblings!
Looking forward to the next book already!

Party time over here, because book 11 in this incredible series was my next read!

The author, once again, had me captivated from the start, messed with my head and had me in tears.

Sheriff Jenna and her team have to do overtime again because they are dealing with some horrible cases. Nothing seems to add up and they have a long list of suspects to keep an eye on. There are too many so they are forced to ask help and Jo and Ty join in too.

Together they manage to find more (confusing) evidence, but they untangle the web little by little. They can remove names from their list and expose the baddies. Baddies who thought they were more clever and indeed they succeeded to fool the police for a while. Don’t mess with the team though, because they will search until they find them and put them where you belong: behind bars.

Black Rock Falls seems like a nice place to live. Unfortunately some crazy killers have the same idea. I guess I will not start packing yet. 😉

I hope the author has a lot of inspiration left to keep this series going for a very long time. Impossible for me to give less than 5 stars.

Thank you, D.K. Hood and Bookouture

Why do bad things keep happening in Black Rock Falls? Who knows, but Sheriff Alton, Deputy Kane, and the rest of the gang are always up to the task of finding out who the baddies are. In book 11 a popular cheerleader is missing and her dad doesn't seem quite as concerned as he should be. Is he involved? Or is it the photographer whose photos seem to be a little too friendly? The Black Rock Falls Sheriff's Dept must find out before more girls disappear.

Another great book! I can stay up until 2 am reading these books. I hope she keeps on going with this series! Thank you, Bookouture and NetGalley for the ARC.

Jenna and Dave were back along with the killer's who were targeting cheerleaders. As the body count raised, they knew they had to work fast to get to them.

Another brilliant book by author D. K. Hood, I loved being right in the middle of the investigation, not that I could guess the killers. The author kept me in the darkness right through.

The team worked cohesively through the twists and turns, and it was complete fun right till the end.
