To say that I'm disappointed is an understatement. This series has been recced to me left and right. And when the audios started dropping, I decided to give it a go.

1. Kirt Graves is an amazing narrator for sure, but he can't do British accents to save his life. He completely butchers them. Sorry Kirt but this is the cold hard truth.

2. Riley: For the main MC, the center of the Harem AND the main narrator of the story? I didn't like him and couldn't warm up to him. Truthfully, if Riley was Alter Riley, I would have loved it more. Alter Riley was sassy and multidimensional, strong and vulnerable. He had depth. Riley on the other hand, was just a bumbling child who apologized and cried ALL THE TIME. It was exhausting. And the fact that Riley didn't really develop more is baffling to me. We just saw him become a bit more when he was emotional or when Alter Riley took over... other than that he stayed the same throughout the entire series.

2. Jai and Noel. These two were the bright spots in the whole series for me. I shipped them from the very beginning and I wanted to see them together, alone with no Riley in sight because frankly they fit together seamlessly. They were flirty and sweet and sexy AF together. They made sense in a way that them being with Riley didn't. I was a bit miffed that we didn't get at least one scene of them being intimate all by themselves. They were Others, they were born together, made for each other and we only get some kisses here and there... booo. I still ship them and in my head they are together, monogamous and boinking all the time.

3. Gideon: With Gideon I had mixed feelings. There was the Gideon that was powerful and who took care of everything and everyone, and then there was Gideon who was mumbling and shy and stammering especially with anything concerning emotion or sex. That didn't make sense. Gideon is a millennia old archangel who saw and experienced things you can't even imagine. So why the stammering? Why the ignorance about being asexual? Why the awkwardness with physical touch? It didn't make sense to me. Like him being all ummm and ahhh and blushing in front of Riley giving him a kiss? #BrainDoesNotCompute
Also, he was the ultimate Daddy.... He and Riley fit SOOO MUCH BETTER together than Riley with the Jai and Noel.

4. The Slow Burn. So listen.... There is slow burn and then there is SLOOOOW BURN. This was borderline #FrustrationStation. One step forward 10 steps back, all through the series. It was just a lot. I didn't feel like the series warranted this slow of a slow burn. It dragged for me.

5. The action. It felt like it was an afterthought in this series barring book 5. I didn't get why the series had the dark romance TW until that book because it was definitely darker than the rest...not taking into account Noel's situation in book 2.

6. The Heat... This part has no standing in my rating because it is a personal preference and I thought it wouldn't be fair for me to rate something based on what I prefer. Apart from the slow burn: this book is a harem and not polyamory. Because Riley is in the center of the relationship and where Gideon is not in a relationship with Jai and Noel at all...neither physically nor emotionally. And this for me was a surprise because I had thought that they would ALL be together. This was my bad. I am not a poly person unless done in a certain way, and I'm definitely not a Harem person because frankly I felt uncomfortable with some of the aspects of the relationship. But that's just me. The jealousy between Noel and Jai over Riley was off-putting. The way Jai and Riley had sex without discussing it with Noel bugged me. Even though they should have discussed anal beforehand right? The dynamic was not for me, but again this didn't have any affect on my rating because it was personal and I went in a bit blind.

7. The ending: For a 6-book series, the ending seemed rushed and everything was wrapped up very quickly. Some major plot devices were all handled in the epilogue (Uriel, Xavier, Gabriel) and it was jarring to say the least.
Also, I couldn't really be happy with the HEA for Riley and his angels when so many others had the short end of the stick. It wasn't fair for him to get everything and everyone he ever wanted while almost everyone around him lost everything ESPECIALLY Uriel. What was the point of all those sacrifices? So that Riley could have everything and others have nothing? It left a bad taste in my mouth.

8. The unexplained plot holes:
Why do some angels look older than others?
Why does Gideon need glasses?
Why do they use condoms?
How do the angels gets their money?
Beau's storyline which was not given enough information.
Why did the other archangels have British accents while Gideon has an American one?

I will say that even through my many hang-ups, I continued reading because the author did manage to intrigue me enough to keep going. There were fun moments like Riley and Gideon bonding, them getting high by accident and others as well... Jai and Noel were definitely a big part of why I kept reading.

Final thought: This series didn't have to be 6 books long. There were whole books that seemed like fillers to me.

“We’re all monsters sometimes,” he said. “At one point or another. Every single one of us.” “Sometimes, you have to be a monster to defeat the demons,”

I have mixed feelings about this finale. The first half of the book was pretty slow and similar to the first 4 books of the series. It was all about Riley navigating his life with his boyfriends and trying to heal from his trauma. The second half was focused on the training and the big showdown between Lucifer and Riley. I feel that the action was an afterthought in this book, even though this is the book with the most action. The ending felt rushed and some things were just quickly wrapped up with one or two sentences and we are supposed to be okay with it.

There was a lot of action in the second half of this book, but it was not as developed as it could have been. In one instance, there is a big fight in Purgatory, and instead of having details about the fight, or even following some of the characters involved in the fight, we were just told about it secondhand because Riley was waiting back in Utopia for the angels to come back and let him know how it went.

At least Riley was less annoying in this book and the previous one. He rarely cried, and didn’t apologize that much in this book! He changed a lot since the first book, he matured and gained confidence and a personality too, but sadly, for a character that I’ve been following for 2000 pages, I didn’t warm up to him that much. I like him, but I am not in love with him, and he is the main character and center of all the relationships… While he is much less annoying than he was in the first book, he is still not that interesting, in my humble opinion.

Jai and Noel were the ones I really loved in this series. Their strong bond, unwavering loyalty, and pure love for each other were the best part of this RH/polyamorous romance. Since the beginning of this series, I’ve been waiting for something to finally happen between them because they were constantly touching and flirting and there clearly was sexual tension between them, so I was just so happy when they finally realized it and gave each other a chance. The only annoying thing was Noel’s constant sobbing and breakdowns, but I guess I got used to it… Seriously, those two fit so well together, they didn’t even need Riley. They could have just become a couple and I would have been happy.

I liked the bond that formed between Riley and Uriel in this series, but the way the author tried to change that bond and push it into the father-son relationship category instead of the strong friendship it was irked me. Riley and Uriel’s relationship was sweet and their bond was strong enough with them just being confidants and friends. The secrets Uriel hid from Riley justified Riley’s anger, there was no need to try to make the betrayal worse by having Riley say that he considered Uriel to be kind of like his father, especially when he said so many times how he looked like a 16 years-old teenager and it was hard to take him seriously as an authority figure at times. Uriel saying that Riley was “his kid” in every way that mattered was just awkward too. The author should have left their relationship the way it was; as friends, no father-son-paternal wannabe connection that was just dropped on us with no preamble.

If the author wanted Riley to develop a more fatherly bond with someone, Gideon would have been the obvious choice. I still don’t see why the romance between them was part of the story. It just seems forced, especially considering that Gideon is what we would call asexual, so what he seeks in his relationship is really more companionship and quality time. He already acts like the dad of the family, and Riley is already in a romantic relationship with Jai and Noel, I think I would have liked it more if he kept his relationship with Gideon non-romantic… Honestly, it just felt weird to me every time they kissed or made out because then Gideon would turn around and act like the father again.

Overall, I am still happy that I read this series, but it didn’t need to be this long. It could have all fit in 4 books, with fewer filler scenes and more backstories, and a more complex plot instead. It is not a bad series, and the author managed to keep me intrigued enough to continue reading until the end, but I was expecting more from the reviews I read and because many people recommended this series to me.

Safety info, content warnings and tropes down below.

This has easily become one of my favorite series of all time, and I'm not sure how I'm supposed to review this final book. I finished it yesterday but I can't stop thinking about Riley and the boys. Their journey was hard, heartbreaking, lovely and just epic. I'm not sure I've ever cried as much as I did during the final two books. Plenty of characters go through so much trauma, and it's not a series I'd go into blind unless you're confident you don't have any triggers. The content is super heavy throughout, and tough to read at times.

I was so incredibly ready for Riley & Co to finally get their happily ever after, and it was worth the wait and all the tears. They have the kind of love and relationships you can believe in, and the '15 years later' epilogue helped heal my heart a little bit. The character development they all went through added to the believability of their happy ending.

Gideon was my favorite character from the very start and he still is after finishing the whole series -- that gentle giant is one of my all-time favorite characters (one of my favorite MMCs in MF romance is also called Gideon 👀 coincidence?). He's protective and kind, loving and strict, and unintentionally (on his part) hilarious. Noel, Jai and Riley are also amazing characters and I love them all.

This series will stick with me for a long time, and I know I'll end up buying the audiobooks so that I can reread the series lots. I can't possibly recommend these books enough.

I kindly demand an epilogue for Bel and Beau - please.

“I wonder what’s worse: admitting your wickedness even as you indulge in it, or whitewashing the facade to make yourself feel holy while the inside rots?”

“Sorry about the bathroom.”
“It’s okay, baby. Gid’s bringing a new mirror back with him.”
I blanched. “You told him?”
Jai arched an eyebrow, and I slumped. “He’s gonna ground me.”
They both laughed. “He would too,” Noel said. “He’s such a mom.”

“Maybe we’ll have forever. Maybe we only have today. But however long I have you, I’m going to love you with everything I am.”

We baked chocolate chip cookies, and Gideon ordered tacos. When the delivery guy came, we were extremely normal. “Thank you, magical taco guy,” I said. I flipped up my finger guns and winked at him. “You have yourself a good day now.” “Sure,” he said as he handed the bag of tacos to Gideon. “Smooth,” Gideon said with an approving nod. “He doesn’t suspect a thing.” “Cool as a cucumber. Pew, pew, pew.” I shot my finger guns at the delivery man as Gideon shut the door between us.

I felt bad for Gideon. He was constantly surrounded by us and our uncontrollable hormones. For the most part, he wasn’t overly bothered. The only time he complained was when he caught Jai and me in the kitchen, Jai’s hand down my pants. “Saints and sinners, we eat here,” Gideon had growled. “It’s not sanitary!”

This series brought me through 2020. Honestly, as shitty as this year was, there was always the release date of the next book to look forward to.

This is the last book in the series. I'm not ready to say goodbye. These characters are so precious to me, I love them all so much. I know now, I will reread this series forever. I already reread the books at least twice in preparation for the next release.

The ending is epic. I just disliked one thing (), but what can you do. Authors are sometimes cruel to us readers, but they have their reasons.

In a way this series reminds me of Harry Potter (I love HP and read the books 17.000 times and listened to the Audio books and watched the movies etc.). Book four was a bit like Harrys story, but I didn't mind that. In book 6 (this one) there was a line which also reminded me of HP: "I'm so angry, Gideon,"..."All the time". I grinned hard at that one, because book 5, Order of the Phoenix, Harry to Dumbledore. But sometimes if you write this type of genre, I can imagine there just are similarities.

So, as I said, I love the series very much. I highly recommend it.

My highlights in this book were

I loved watching Riley growing up. I never thought of him as weak, which could easily have been happen with his attitude. I guess the writing style is just that exceptional.

I'm a little sad to end this review, because I know this is the last review for the boys. I can't wait what the author has next in store for us, but Riley, Jai, Noel and Gideon will always have a special place in my heart (needed to write all of their names one more time :))

This is my review for the entire series. Minimal spoilers.

The Good

- This is a 6 book paranormal contemporary series with interesting worldbuilding and plot. And it’s a finished series! This is so rare it’s worth commenting on. All told we’re at 2,026 pages. Which if it works for you – is a lot of material.
- I just got very emotional all over this book – I swear I’ve cried at least 4 times and could not stop thinking about the characters. Being able to evoke strong emotion is a huge positive for me, and I thought this book did it well. This is probably the biggest reason this series got 4* - I was invested and entertained, and couldn’t wait to keep going.
- The individual relationships between the MC’s. A lot of poly books seem to rush through the individual relationship development. I appreciated that it was fleshed out for each of them (there was enough page time to do it, for sure). Riley and Gideon didn’t look anything like Riley and Jai, for example. The realities of starting out a relationship like this were also acknowledged - jealousy, for example. Normal and valid and something that was viewed (in the relationships in the book) as something they'd just have to work through. And they did. Loved the visibility of this.
- The angelic realm worldbuilding. I thought this was a pretty interesting take on everything that centered angels and not some higher power or god as the prime movers. The dystopian elements within the hierarchy were pretty interesting.
- Everyone went to therapy. Loved this being included. Apparently angels can have therapists too, and we got to see the aftermath of some of their trauma being dealt with in a very real way.
Unsure
- There are a ton of side characters, and they don’t all make it to the end. Some of them I was devastated over, some of them I had to remind myself who they were again and why they were being called out by name.
- The ultra slow burn and the relationship progression. Others have commented on this. There is slow burn, and then there is this series. I am pretty sure they don’t even kiss in Book 1. There is absolutely payout if you’re looking for explicit scenes, but don’t expect to see any until it gets very far in.
- Everyone is a martyr. Great quote:
“Fucking martyrs!” Noel griped. “We’re all a bunch of idiot martyrs”.
Yes Noel, you all are absolute dingdongs. It’s one thing if it happens once, but this is essentially the plot or plot twist for every one of the books. Sometimes it got on my nerves, sometimes it didn’t.

Not good
- Riley’s complete innocence and naivety. He is *so* sheltered and naïve, and it bordered on annoying especially in the beginning. The angels as well – for being 1,000 year old beings, they were also caught off guard a lot.
- For being guardian angels, the angels sure got pissy and stomped off a lot, leaving Riley alone to fend for himself. Come on! Dingdongs, the lot of them.

This final book was everything and more! It seriously exceeded my expectations. I always struggle to finish series because they tend to be predictable and a little... Bleh toward the end. But not this one. I was laughing, crying, and smiling to the very last line. And thank goodness we had bonus scenes because I was NOT ready to say goodbye to these boys.

Each relationship has blossomed and strengthened in each book, especially, this one. I loved Jai and Riley, Riley and Noel, Noel and Jai, and Gideon and Riley. You won't be disappointed by their love for each other. These boys were perfect, and they will forever hold a piece of my heart.

I love the representation in this book as well. We have characters who fall in the Ace category, bi, non-binary, and more! It's refreshing to read writing which accurately depicts different LGBTQ+ characters.

Through this author's writing, I've been able to figure out that, like Riley, I'm demi, and that it's okay. I've always thought I was weird, had people say I was weird, because I didn't find people romantically or s*xually attractive until I got to know them well. Like Riley, I knew people were pretty, but I never felt that desire for them like all my peers seemed to feel. Reading about Riley and his self-discovery has been life changing and helped me feel like I've found a missing piece of myself. I'm still learning about who I am, but I finally feel like I understand certain parts of what make me, well, me. And that's thanks to this author and her beautiful writing.

This was the perfect ending to a perfect series. Every heartache, every late night of reading, every laughing at my phone like a lunatic in public was worth this ending. Thank you to the author for putting such great care and detail into this series. The writing was breathtaking. I look forward to any and all other books the author writes.

I will freely admit that I devoured this entire series on each books' release date and I could not believe how lucky I was to receive an ARC for the final book. Each chapter, each page, each word left me parched and desperate for more, breathless with every letter. I tried to savor this one, because I knew it was coming to an end. I tried to draw it out, refrained from swallowing it whole, and imbedding it in my very heart and soul...

Alas.

I was up all night. I don't even care. This was a true work of art. Poetry in its highest form. The very reason ancient people designed a written language.

This book absolutely eviscerated my soul. Riley and his angels finally--FINALLY--had their happy ending. This book took Riley to the peaks of euphoria, plummeted him mercilessly to the depths of hellish terror, then taught him to fly once again. It carved deep into the scariest--and most tragically beautiful--forms of love and sacrifice and sense of honor. It questioned morality, it questioned humanity, and it dared to question the very notion of God. Oh, how beautiful, the boldest of choices can be.

This book, this series, everything about it... this is the highest high a person such as myself--who lives and breathes stories and written, fabricated words--can experience. I was catapulted through the entire spectrum of human emotion with these characters and, oh, what I would give to be able to experience this for the first time all over again. I don't know what to do with this kind of hangover.

All I know, I will absolutely devour every single word that Nikole Knight puts to paper. She has earned my undying respect, fealty, and eternal admiration for the phenomenal stories she tells.

Writing a series- especially one as nuanced and detailed as the books within the Fire and Brimstone Scrolls - is incredibly difficult. But writing a satisfying ending that stays true to the characters and the plot while keeping the reader happy is next to impossible.

But Elysium does that and more.

This book is freaking fantastic. ❤ Riley and his angels get everything we want for them, with some trademark angst and battles along the way. Their happy ending is fought hard for and all the sweeter for it.

~~~~
ETA, 9/22/21: I just re-read this book and it still stands up and then some. I *knew* what was coming. I *knew* the heart ache and happiness that was on the horizon, but I still cried through the whole last hour of reading this book. That, my friends, is a testament to a wonderfully well written book with such a satisfying conclusion.
Eine der besten Reihen, die ich jemals gelesen habe und ich habe jede einzelne Seite geliebt. Liebe und Schmerz, found family, Folter und Hoffnung, Tod und Zerstörung, trotzdem wurde es fast nie (außer in Band 5 💔) zu dark und erdrückend. Die Balance war einfach perfekt. Ich würde Vieles geben die Reihe nochmal ohne Wissen von vorne lesen zu können... 🥰😭❤️
r e i h e n r e z e n s i o n ~
Heute habe ich eine ganz besondere Reihenrezension für euch - mein erstes Jahreshighlight 2024! 😭❤️
Ohne viele Erwartungen hineingegangen und bereits der Prolog hat ein Gefühlschaos und Gedankenexplosionen in meinem Kopf hinterlassen... 🤯😭💔
Und von da an wurde es immer besser und besser. Wir bekommen mit Riley, Gideon, Jai und Noel nicht nur vier unglaublich komplexe, perfekt, unperfekt ausgearbeitete Charaktere 😭❤️, sondern noch viel mehr: hurt/ comfort, eine schwierige Missbrauchskindheit, die Riley bis heute begleitet, Engel/Dämonen, Selbstopfer, Liebe, Akzeptanz, einen Krieg, viele Geheimnisse, Intrigen, Schicksalsschläge, viele Tränen, lautes Auflachen, Kopfschütteln, Charaktere in Decken einwickeln und in Sicherheit bringen wollen und gebrochene Herzen, wenn wir die Hoffnung verlieren, ob es wirklich ein Happy End geben kann 😭.
Meine Exemplare haben über 700 Markierungen, mein Herz wurde gebrochen 💔, wieder zusammengeflickt ❤️‍🩹, Teile werden für immer fehlen, aber ich bin sehr dankbar für diese unglaublich tolle Reihe, die sogar "Das Reich der sieben Höfe" von Sarah J. Maas von seinem Thron meiner Lieblingsbücher gestoßen hat 🥰.
Ihr liebt Gefühlschaos, Engel/Dämonen, hurt/comfort, slow burn, Liebe, die über alle Grenzen hinausgeht und möchtet euch euer Herz immer wieder brechen lassen, ohne, dass es zu schwer wird? Ihr liebt es, wenn keine Charaktere sicher sind, die Handlung unvorsehbar ist, ihr nicht wisst, wem ihr vertrauen könnt, die Welt immer größer wird, die Einsätze immer höher und habt euch die TW durchgelesen?
Dann gebt dieser Reihe unbedingt eine Chance und ja, für alle Englisch Muffel unter euch, soweit ich es gesehen habe, gibt es sie auch auf Deutsch 😂🙃
Jahreshighlight, 5+/5☆ 😭❤️
4⭐️ The pacing in this final book was off. The author was rushing to tie up several loose ends, as well as bring the romance plot together and it felt choppy and not as cohesive or impactful as it could have been.
I still enjoyed it though, and teared up at times.
Overall, I don’t think the harem romance held up strong. I think Jai and Noel should have been a couple and Riley and Gideon should have been monogamous. But I’m not really a fan of harem dynamics in general so it could just be my preference.
Here we are, the finale. I've been waiting so long for this book. Nikole Knight promised an HEA and she delivered. It was an intense journey. I really can't even say how I truly feel about the book. This probably isn't my favorite book in the series. Quite a few hammers to my heart...I'm going to have to chill...re-read and re-evaluate. She also left some plot bunnies open for certain characters, so I am hypothesizing and hoping...there will be more stories in this world! Fingers crossed!
A Joyfully Jay review.
4 stars
Elysium is a solid conclusion to the series, and frankly, a respite from the almost trauma-porn tone the series had fallen into, for although Riley has a lot to deal with and work through, it’s mostly done off-page in therapy and him lashing out/hurting his partners is typically mentioned rather than shown. Having sat with my review for a while after finishing the book, I still can’t tell if I truly liked the shift in tone/style of the narrative or if I was just relieved to not be drenched in the aftermath of more trauma. That being said, there is still a lot of much needed on-page emotional development and closure for the quad to be enjoyed. Riley’s imprisonment has left him rightfully furious, traumatized, and off-balance. On the one hand, having his psyche and angelic and fallen halves fully connected gives him complete access to his powers and makes him more mentally stable in some respects; on the other, he’s angrier, more prone to violence and mercurial, and struggles with controlling the bloodthirsty, cruel parts of himself and reconciling how many beings he killed and his enjoyment of it.
Third read. Cant fucking wait for Uriel’s book!!
Update: second read August 2021, still wanted to drag this one out because I didn't want it to be over. I would happily read this series again and again, every 2 months every year for the rest of my life. I truly just love it so fucking much and it has settled into my heart permanently. The epilogue? Beautiful. The bonus chapter? Everything I ever wanted. This whole series just knocks it out of the park for me and I already can't wait to read it a third time (probably before the year is even over, honestly). Just amazing. I want a thousand more books with these characters.
Original review:
I was not ready for this series to be over.
I read this one slower, because I wanted to take my time and savor it. I wasn’t and am still not ready to say goodbye to this series. This book was about healing after a long and hard journey, but it was about battle too. My heart broke for a lot of the characters that died in the end, who I really liked. It was devastating to read. But it was beautiful, too, because it’s been such a long journey of Riley’s self-discovery and acceptance of himself, and at the end, he and his angels finally reach a place of peace and happiness. It made my heart swell to read their happy ending, but I still want more. I can’t wait to get the paperbacks and read this series a second time, because I want to relive it again. When I read the first book, I knew that it sounded like something I would at least enjoy, but I never expected to fall so hard for this series and these characters. One of my new favorites. I’m so happy with where Riley and his angels ended up, even if I want more. I absolutely loved reading their journey and how they came together. It was so satisfying and so heart-wrenching, so emotional and sweet as much as it brought tears to my eyes sometimes. I just loved this series from start to finish. Every book was five stars, so I can’t decide which one is my favorite, but I think it’s between this one and the third one. I just loved them all from beginning to end. I would read 10 more books of this series just detailing the quiet moments of Riley’s life with his angels. The bonus chapter after this one was EVERYTHING. So far, these are the best books I’ve read this year. I feel like I have more to say, but I can’t find the words. This series was just ... incredible.
I had a hard time with how this ended. I mean, it's very romantic and sweet. And I like the HEA/HFN. But for 5 books we've followed Riley on his journey of self-acceptance to integrate the two warring halves of his soul... and he did. And the lesson was that he never had 2 parts of his soul, he was always 1 whole person.
So then to say he could then pay to live by selling 1/2 his soul - the part he didn't like - and then become a full angel was jarring. It was very Dues Ex Machina and disappointing.
I would have preferred he sucked all the juice out of lucifer and used it to heal G before G died, again proving his dark side can be use for good - which I thought was a major part of R's journey. Or maybe just the Maker's mercy given everything they and their angels put R though growing up.
Ultimately, the series was quite enjoyable. One note - for being fairly progressive, it was always a bit of a shock when someone referred to someone as being a 'male of worth' or using male/female vs. man/woman. From a transgender-inclusive lens, and I understand not everyone agrees on this, but male/female usually refers to sex (e.g, how you were born) and man/woman as how you identify, gender-wise. Given the thoughtfulness other identities were provided - ace, non-binary, queer, + thoughtfulness on sex/kinks/poly, etc - it would have been nice to see the same language with man/women.
5-Made-Me-Sob-Stars!
Ooof. This one was a doozy. I can’t say it was perfect but any book that get that type of emotional reaction out of me is worth the stars I’m normally stingy with. The relationship aspects were as strong as ever, but things were difficult for Riley personally. Understandably. I loved seeing the darker side and power and I’m glad that was leaned into more.
The battle though - that fucked me up. Legit tears. I won’t spoil but there’s definitely heartbreak. Especially for a certain someone who BETTER get a book of their own or I’m gonna die still depressed about their story.
Things ended on a sweet note, but I’m still a little bitter about the emotional toll this book took on me. 😂
We were battered and bruised, but we were not broken. We were alive. We were loved. After all the heartache and struggle, we had finally made it here, to this moment, dancing beneath the Utopian sky.
Amazing end to the series.
This series is very slowburn in the first couple of books. Some may be frustrated but I enjoy a good burn if it’s satisfying in the end. I will say this is the most sexual book out of them all and I was indeed blushing at certain scenes. 🤭
This series was highly recommended in Jex Lanes BeMo and I’m so thankful that I got to experience this world. I completely devoured each book released. Very addicting. Nikole Knight promises a HEA and with war heartbreak and death with do get that for Riley and his angel’s.
This was just an amazing series🥺
I honestly can’t put into words of this series
This has got to be one of the best series if not the best series I’ve ever read. Read it all in one day and let me tell you I can’t sum into words this whole series.
I’ve never been a big fan of polygamy relationships because it just doesn’t work and the author doesn’t write it well. But this whole series and the dynamic of the relationships just work. We all have our favorites and in my opinion I think jai and Noel work well together I mean they were forged together from the beginning. I think jai and Noel will always have this one relationship that is specifically designed for just them.
The author didn’t really introduce us to Gideon much in the first 2 books so we never got to know where he stood with Riley. But in my opinion out of all 3 of them I think Gideon is best with Riley. Like if you read this book the way Gideon talks to Riley will literally make your heart race with love let me give you some examples. “I vow to protect and care for you. To honor you. To fight with and for you. To treat you with respect as my Committed partner. Until the Maker calls me home, I am yours—heart, body, and soul.” “Don’t leave me behind,” Gideon was pleading into my hair, voice weak from his still-healing vocal chords. “Don’t make me do this on my own. Please, my love, my heart, don’t leave me.” Those were my favorite lines from Gideon. Even though Gideon and Riley never had sex I felt as though their love and relationship transcends that of what we perceive as love and physical. Riley and Gideon will always have a place in my heart
This book had so many deaths so many heartaches and my heart goes out to those who we’ve read before. And to those who we learned to appreciate. To the fallens to those who we’ve read throughout the series and now see beyond the sea coast of Elysian. You’ll always be remembered and hopefully y’all would wait for your love ones when the time comes to see them again. For death is not the end but the beginning of a new journey. I would name those who had fallen but I don’t want to spoil it for those who haven’t read this book yet.
I’ve never cried so much through a series before and I did this series was so heartbreaking so warm and I didn’t know I would be in for a rollercoaster. Beware other authors because nikole knows how to do it right and y’all should take some notes from her. The way she wrote every book series in the correct way leaving us readers wanting more. Never leaving out details and how a polygamy relationship works. This is how you do it.
I’m so sad it’s over I need more from this author maybe a sequels or a new series. Nikole broke all stigma even within the LGBTQ+ community which I love her for.
I saw what you did nikole I saw what you wrote in the book talking about COVID-19 and the wildfire in Australia making us readers also aware of outside of the book. I saw how you incorporated what’s going on into your own books. Making us also believe we’re living in the times of Riley, jai, Noel, and Gideon.
Before I go I’ll never forget Riley Shepard how he grew from an abandoned and abused boy into a man who grew confidence and fought for those he loves. Jairus who is stubborn and protective and how he grew to open up and love those closest to him and lean on them, learning that sometimes love gives us a second chance to be who we need to be for those we love closest to us. Noel who’s sweet and breaking all stigma of lgbtq+ community and letting us know it’s ok to be ourselves for we’ll find those closest to us who will love us for us and no matter how traumatic our experiences are we are strong enough to overcome them and we are not broken. Last but not least Gideon that our past doesn’t define us. We grow and change everyday and what we do in the present is what defines us. Gideon learning that love comes in many different forms and that in the end love transcends all. Thank you nikole for giving us readers to not only appreciate your books but to reflect it upon on lives that no matter what we can grow to become strong, we can protect those closest to us, our traumatic experiences makes us stronger, and lastly our past does not define us. Once again thank you for “Fire & Brimstone”
“Our courage. Our hope. Our light.
— So you never forget what you mean to us,— Noel said.
— So you never forget who you are,— Jai said.
— So you never forget how much we love you,— Gideon said.
And I said,— I never knew I could be loved this much.”❤️‍🩹
HE AMADO CADA SEGUNDO, CADA PAGINA DE ESTA SAGA, CADA PERSONAJE… bof todo❤️‍🔥🪽
Las lágrimas del final de saga han estado más que presentes…🥹
Necesito un momento para hablar de estos ángeles: Giddy, eres el MEJOR, te adoro entero (ojala más hombres como él😭). Noel y Jai, sois increíbles juntos y separados🥺🫶🏻, que seáis Others solo hace que os quiera más si eso es posible🩵. Estos tres han sido maravillosos y jurado que guardan un lugar especial en mi core✨.
Y Riley, el protagonista de tremenda historia… MENOS MAL que llegaron estos tres y te enseñaron lo que es el amor❤️!! (pov yo tambien quiero)
✨Algunas de las muchísimas frases subrayadas (pena me da no poder poner más):✨
“For them, I would do it again, a hundred times over. For them, I would give every breath, every heartbeat. For them, I would offer my Angel soul to the Maker with a smile on my face. Because they were worth everything.
My guardian angels. My family. My Committed loves.”❤️ diosquebonito
“— You are so precious to me, kapara,— Gideon said as he glowed lightly. His green eyes were soft and loving, but the sorrow there was debilitating.— And I will love you until the universe burns out.
— I’ll see you after. I’ll found you!,— I cried, and his dad smile wrenched my heart out of my chest.
— Until we meet again.” 💔 lloré
“I said,— I love you with every fiber of my being, and that will never change. I will always choose you.
And, God, how he smiled at me.” Gideon se merece todo bonito💕
“Jai loved me like a wildfire. Raging. Hot. All-consuming. Noel loved me like a river. Overwhelming. All-compassing. Healing. But Gideon, oh, the way he loved me. He loved me like an earthquake. It was slow and deep, miles below the surface. It rumbled and rolled. It shook me to my very core.” LOS ADORO, a los cuatro🥰🥺❤️‍🩹🫶🏻
5 stars. Just… wow. Throughout this series, I have laughed, I have cried, I have swooned, and I have been disturbed. These books have just about every book “trope” that I adore, and the author had executed them all so well.
At the heart of this series are four characters that experience a lot of pain and loss, but also a lot of love. Riley, Jai, Noel, and Gideon have been so great to read about. The author did an amazing job making you understand and care about the characters and their journeys. Not to mention how much you come to love and care about the side characters.
While the overall plot is about the battle between good and evil, heaven and hell, the story really revolves around very human relationships. Romantic relationships, friendships, familial relationships, and the relationship with the self are what this series is about. And I really love that focus on character over the bigger picture, although they do blend well together.
If you have time, I highly recommend giving this series a chance. It takes a while, but the author is right, there is a happy ending waiting for these characters (but now I need a series about Uriel!!!). I adore this series, and it’s going into my favorites pile for sure!
Elysium . heaven Sent book
The Author Nikole Knight Outdid herself Again as Usual with this final Installment of fire & Brimstone scrolls . As I was reading the final
Scroll , there was so many emotion that this book took me on. Riley and his Committeds , the love & sacrifice they were willing and have for each other. I'm just Glad in the end their Love is Going stronger than ever . the battle between Lucifer and his forces were so intense . I love how Riley had the opportunity to go into Elysium But chose to stay with His Loves . also love How He Met the Maker and how the maker showed Riley His Mercy how I know the Maker to be . Thank you 🙏 For Writing such Amazing Stories and for letting us be on this journey with Riley & them
A fiery Ending for a Hybrid like Riley
My heart so much from being happy to being sad to being devasated to the point I ball like a baby.
Riley endured way too much in his life and to come into his character as a angel/fallen angel hybrid. His love for Jay, Noel an Gideon as well for his friends helped him triumph against the leftover 7 Fallens.
This was a great ending to a heart wrenching serie, but be warned future readers... don't disregard the writer's warnings in the beginning of each books. This serie isn't really for the faint of heart but if you're willing to stick it out. It's worth it to see a happy ending.
