The moment we signed the divorce papers, the shooting started. I don't know who they are. I don't know what they want. All I do know is that a boat-load of black-clad gunmen just gatecrashed my divorce and kidnapped my 6-year-old daughter. There's only one man I trust to get her Tattooed, towering ex-Navy veteran Max Seger. The only problem? He's the man I just divorced - and he's the reason they kidnapped her! But for better or worse, Max won't leave me in my hour of need - so now, we're embarking on a desperate race against time; setting sail in the dilapidated wreck of the PCH-1 High Point - once the fastest ship in the US Navy - on a wild journey that will take us to Key West, Cuba, and beyond. I couldn't have predicted any of this - not the kidnapping, the chaos, or the conspiracy that followed. But least predictable of all? Being thrust into this dangerous adventure has forced me to remember all the reasons I fell in love with Max in the first place!High Point is a thrilling, fast-paced military thriller featuring scenes of smoldering sensuality, nail-biting tension, and gut-punching emotion.
The book starts out with the Tina and Max together signing their divorce papers. They have been married and fought together for almost a year... I have outgrown books with tons of cursing like sailors in it. so was skipping over a load of words. :) but the book was awesome I laughed, and at sometimes thought wow! there really is no way that would have happened in real life .. but then WE ARE READING FICTION !! so I truly enjoyed the book .. there were also sad moments where I had to stop and wipe the tears from my eyes from crying so much ... I felt for Marty always wanting recognition and love from a man as a dad figure, and oh my for Paulie as he tried to get Tina to see Max was the best man she ever landed for her and her children and who would truly Love them and give the the nurturing they needed, and then when Paul Gave His Life for them to survive... still breaks my heart ..and to read at the ending the funeral service provided..... this reader cried again.. I adored this Author when He wrote under his pen name and have most all those books ... and FOR ME... I find The writing to be as entertaining and as delicious and rewarding to read as when written under the pen name so ... I am trhilled for this Author to feel great about their works being Published in Their NAME... Kudo's
People say a great love must have passion and excitement and Max and Tina have it all in their marriage. Unfortunately, that same passion leads to volatile fights and to their (or at least Tina's) decision to divorce. I love all the Knucklehead MC books and this one was no different and just like the others, there is a hint (yea) of more stories to come. On the day their divorce papers are signed, all hell breaks loose when Max's, sorry, Tina's home is literally blown apart around them and her 6 year old daughter Bella is kidnapped. What Max cannot comprehend is why all this is happening and by whom. He promises Tina that they will rescue Bella and that is when the adventure begins and what a ride Simone Scarlet takes you on. I loved this book and I am so glad there will be more books to come and I cannot wait!
A fast paced military thriller. In the middle of signing divorce papers, a couples daughter is kidnapped, and the only hope of her return is the ex husband - former military, and the reason their daughter is kidnapped in the first place. The US Navy’s first operational Hydrofoil figures heavily into the story and the rescue plot. This is a nail-biting, pulse racing, tense read with a gripping mystery, gut wrenching emotion and sexual tension as the couple are forced to remember what their lives were like in better days... You’ll find yourself holding your breath repeatedly during this read, and you won’t be able to put it down, no matter how late it is with a work day on the morrow.
High Point has all the heart thumping rush of a Clive Cussler novel with a romantic core. Billed to me as a romance novel when I came across it, I was pleased to find the struggles of the protagonists real, but a larger story than will-they-won’t-they.
While the romantic elements between the leads are a focus, there’s an added dimension of family which rounds out the story to see the gravity of it all.
Sounded interesting from blurb. Starts off like a porno, and goes down hill from there. The prose is good but the author has no idea what he is talking about and the suspension of belief ruined things. I may go back and finish some day when I'm bored.
