Liam Neale has spent eight years searching for the woman who rocked his world—and then robbed him. But Kenzie’s not just any woman. She’s the most volatile of the Horsemen that rule the Island of Ys. War.
He’s the one she’s never forgotten…
With the Horsemen’s revenge plot finally picking up speed, the last thing Kenzie needs is the distraction Liam offers. If she had a little more self-control, maybe she could keep her hands off him, but Kenzie and self-control have never been on speaking terms. Determined to have her cake and eat it too, Kenzie offers Liam a bargain—a seven day fling and then he leaves the island forever.
To have a chance, they have to risk it all…
But the Horsemen’s enemies are circling and it’s never been more hazardous to be attached to the Island of Ys. All Liam wants to do is protect Kenzie from the demons of her past, but with the clock ticking down and her trust in short supply, they’re both in more danger than either of them could have dreamed.

Her Rival's Touch was a solid sequel to the the first book and tells the story of Kenzie (War) and Liam. This story was fiery and delicious and I was here for Liam's dominant style!! I loved seeing how Kenzie would deny her attraction for Liam but how ultimately these two were drawn to each other like a moth to a flame.
I loved seeing Liam again after The Wild Hunt scene in the first book and was totally here for his connection with Kenzie. This story was delicious and filled to the brim with even more secrets. I can't wait to see what happens with Famine and Death in books three and four! 4 stars! ~Ratula
I loved Kenzie. Like why can't authors write books with heroine like her. She was confident in her own skin, owned her sexuality and was pretty much badass. I loved Liam too. He wasn't a manwhore which was good cause I hate that in most of books the hero is always a manwhore and a playboy with a virginal heroine. At least in this book the hero was good and was the first to accept his own feelings. Yeah and pretty much I loved the sibling bonds of their group.
I am really loving these Island of Ys books so far! I didn’t expect to like Kenzie and Liam as much as I did…(still not as much as Cami & Luca though) but I do think they’re perfect for each other and I really enjoyed their story. I’m looking forward to hearing more about their future in the next 2 books. What happened to Kenzie when she was at the camp as a little girl is so fucked up…I hope every single human trafficking/ pedophile/ rapist/ piece of shit gets what’s coming to them! I was on the edge of my seat a few times… when she was in the apartment with Milo and his men. AND when Luca got shot, I was so scared he wouldn’t be ok and I felt horrible for Cami. I think it’s awesome that Liam and Cami have joined with their partners (and their siblings) to find the bastards responsible for all those horrific crimes they endured as children. Not going to lie, I’m not really emotionally invested in Ryu or Amarante yet… so idk how I’m going to feel about the last two books. But it was a crazy twist that the name they tortured out of Milo was their father!

I have always loved Liam. He was one of my favorites in the O’Malley series and I was so sad when he didn’t have his own HEA in that series. He and Kenzie totally make up for that sadness. Wow! The Horsemen are a force to be reckoned with and feared by all; add Liam to the mix and they are unstoppable. I can’t wait to see more of Kenzie and Liam in the stories to come. The love and trust they share shone so bright on the pages.
Plot twist!! And omg! I love how this connects to another of her series that I am now going to have to go buy….. honestly I think I might end up purchasing the printed copies cuz woo the intrigue? The streak of honor the gritty darkness that still manages to let the HEA just be just the right amount of real. Man I started reading her series for the porn I’ll admit it and now I’m committed to the damn story…. Ahhhhh
3.75, let's say. The greater story arc is super compelling and I'm heading straight into the next one. Spicy scenes were excellent. The internal monologue relationship struggles..... Meh. I've read enough of Robert to make them a little par for the course, but I also didn't mind, just flipped through those pages a little faster. The Kenzie-Ryu and Kenzie-Amarante interactions were dynamic and sweet and unique, though, making me look forward to getting more into their heads.
bad idea to jump head first into the fifth book of a series without prior knowledge or familiarity with the world. the premise sounded so intense and angsty but the execution fell flat. I wanted Liam to chase Kenzie more but all we got were sex scenes and an abundance of bets, which got annoying after a while and barely any convincing development
This series is going to do me in, it's just that GREAT! I couldn't wait to read about Kenzie and Liam, and their story was absolutely wonderful. There were some hard things, and a rollercoaster of emotions mixed in with the romance and sexiness, and it was all done to perfection! Just wonderful.
I like the characters of these books! Miss Robert's books always entertain and you really hate it when the book ends and you have wait for the rest of the story.
Really enjoyed reading this incredible story. Really looking forward to reading more in this series. Highly recommend reading each and every one of them. On to the next one.
I absolutely love Kenzie and Liam! The back and forth bickering, the undeniable feelings, Kenzie’s sassy attitude mixed with Liam’s domineering attitude is chef’s kiss…you can’t help but fall in love with these characters! Definitely worth the read!
I like the change from standard romance relationship dynamics. A man who is tough but not afraid to have a tough woman. A strong woman who slowly learns to bend for her partner's needs. Both ruthless.
I like Liam but the story of War is not as fleshed out as Pestilence. So the story of Liam and War was less fleshed out to be immersive for me. I’m still invested in the series. Book 5, let’s go.
I liked this one more. I really like Kenzie and I love how into her Liam is. Just like, totally gone for her. I am glad the gore/torture is not explicitly described.

I wanted to love this book because I love Katee Robert, but I couldn’t get past all the grammatical errors and typos. The writing just wasn’t there for me sadly.
This has been an incredible series. Only two books left. I know when I am done I won't be happy to be done. Heavy sigh. BUT I will move on to another of her series. :)
