I thought this was a well written and informative book. Some of the things mentioned seemed like extremely basic knowledge that would apply to owning any type of dog/pet. That being said, if you've never owned a pet I can see how it would be helpful. All in all this is a book worth reading.

As a pitbull owner, I found this short book informative and entertaining, but in NO WAY is this book any kind of "complete guide to Pit Bulls!" Much of the information is common sense. However, for myself, and not having had a dog for several years, this shallow-dive into (among other topics) "raising, feeding, training, exercising [and] grooming" served as a good reminder of some dog things I haven't thought about for a while. Definitely gave me some food-for-thought, and provided plenty of ideas for further and deeper reading.

I recommend this short book as an early read for a prospective or a new(er) pitbull owner. But if you've already started doing your dog homework, I doubt there's much here that you haven't already seen. Remember, (in my opinion) each dog is an individual and, as a book can give you general breed traits, your pitbull pup may have a personality vastly different than what "most" of the breed exhibits. I have found my pitbull to be a wonderful, smart, headstrong, emotional, loyal, pretty lazy, totally un-aggressive dog that loves (and I mean loves) everyone! In fact, as a wounded warrior, he is my service dog and he goes literally everywhere with me (dining – be at McDonald's or a 5-Star restaurant – movie theater, hiking, bike riding, shopping, the supermarket, the mall, and the beach, to name a few) and is the best dog I've ever had.
