***Real cases of perplexing disappearances, shocking murders and paranormal encounters fuel this gripping book***
Inspired by the recently released Netflix series Unsolved Mysteries, this book explains real and mysterious casess, I'm sure they will leave you a lot to think about, especially tonight, before you go to sleep.
The victims say... Some witnesses only remember details... There's something oddly alluring about an unsolved mystery. It's the eeriness of blatant secrecy of those involved; the unexplainable circumstances of how an event occurred; and the queasy knowledge that truth exists. That truth may never reach to the surface.
The original production of Unsolved Mysteries had 582 episodes between 1987 and 2002, created by John Cosgrove and Terry Dunn Meurer, currently has new episodes since July. The new Unsolved Mysteries series retains the essence that made it so popular, maintains the chilling feeling that viewers loved about the original, while telling the stories through the lens of a Netflix documentary series. Each episode focuses on a mystery. This book addresses in written documentary format, certain events loaded with mystery or paranormal issues, a good starting point for conspiracy by addressing issues such as UFO sightings, or murders in mysterious circumstances. Merging the characteristic elements of the original series with an engaging, character-centred contemporary narrative, these new written episodes are based on the experiences of ordinary people who lived through unthinkable from the trauma of an unexplained disappearance or the bloody death of a loved one, to the horror of a paranormal and bizarre encounter. Accompanied by detectives and journalists, the relatives give clues, present theories and identify suspects, hoping that a reader will hold the key to solving the mystery.

I don't rate DNF titles often, but this was very poorly done. This book seems to be a collection of basic notes the author took while watching episodes of Unsolved Mysteries, without any editing or effort to compile things in a logical manner. Within the first couple of chapters, there were so many missing words, entirely grammatically incorrect sentences, and typos that I gave up. I normally don't mind when a book is missing a bit of editing, but if you're going to make cash off of describing episodes of a television series, at least make it legible.
Unsolved Mysteries is a popular show, but true crime is huge. Everyone loves a good mystery, and when it has not been solved, theories abound as to what happened, and why.
Edward Collins takes some of the top mysteries and dives into them, sharing information, investigations, and the status of the case. Sadly, many of these may never be solved, unless someone decides to talk. Someone always knows something!
Although this book was fascinating for the most part, I gave it only three stars due to the fact that there were gaps in some of the information contained in it as well as several typographical errors . I still recommend this book to other true crime and mystery readers.
It was a good book. I grew up on the show in the late 80’s early 90’s with Robert Stack. I also watched it when it changed hosts and Netflix picked it up. This book touched on some of the cases that was featured on the Netflix adaptation of the show. It covered a lot more info then what the show covered and covered it well.
I figured if this was based on Unsolved Mysteries then it was going to be a great read. Unfortunately, I was left a little disappointed as the author doesn't seem to know how to edit his book before releasing which is a great shame. The extra stories were actually more interesting than the stories at the front which is a great shame. This is still a great book for true a crime lovers but be aware of the grammar issues.
The book covers such topics as UFO abductions, various unsolved deaths. a possible hate crime and related topics. It's what I would term an average book, nothing really special about it.
Easy to read and a great variety of unsolved mysteries. Each story just long enough to hold ones interest and leaves you looking forward to the next mystery .
This isn't affiliated with Unsolved Mysteries, it's just a collection of stories that were featured on the Netflix series. I'm pretty sure that the information came directly from the show, as there isn't any new perspective on these stories. It's just straight facts and timelines.
There are also several typos. After chapter 3, the writing itself takes a nose-dive, at times being almost incoherent. The book would greatly benefit from a good editor.
