Ryan and Jalisa's story in "Back to You" was an engaging, short but sweet, happily for now good read.

Nice quick story
Ryan was not looking for love or a new romance. Jalisa was just in need of a new class parent for the new school year. She got that and the man.

This was an ok read, it's very short though! This was the first book I've read from this author-- I'm not terribly impressed. I don't know that this is listed as a short story but it should be. I was disappointed with how suddenly it ends.
The author hints that Jalisa wasn't raised in a well-adjusted home but we're never told. Ryan's ex is only mentioned but we're not introduced to her. And Hudson's behavior troubles are mentioned, glossed over and then resolved painstakingly fast. We don't explore why he was acting out, or even give Jalisa and he a scene where they can talk it out. Which is very odd, considering she's his teacher and they seem to have a good rapport once he stopped acting out in class. It's odd that the author wouldn't have made that more of a big deal, considering Hudson is the whole reason Ryan decided to be a full-time parent and have a better relationship with him.
There were a lot of transitions that were glossed over and mentioned off-page. Also, you're not even sure how much time has passed in this story. I mean, Thankgiving and the Christmas holiday are mentioned but the story doesn't flow like all that time has passed since the beginning of the school year. It all feels like mere weeks has passed. And that all of this happens within one year is also absurd.
Honestly, just pass by this one-- does not pass the vibe check. If you're interested in a short story that's also complete, check out TEMPTING FATE by Sloanne Kennedy. It's m/m but it's an awesome read and made me want to read more of her work. While she writes m/m, it seems like she may be branching into m/f if m/m just isn't your thing.

WTF?
I had forgotten that I had pledged not to read anymore of this author's unfinished, abruptly ending books. This book had so much potential. If Ryan had friends, none were mentioned in this book. They quit, he came back, then nothing. Oh, but the first time they had sex was a whole chapter almost. WTF happened in this book. I know a lot of people (teachers) hate to teach in the "bad" schools, but they need good teachers as well as the whiny brats in the rich area. Jalisa was kind of snobbish about it. This book is all kinds of missing stuff. I am truly done with this no writing author. Kindle will print anything, I mean anything and give it to us as a book. Shame on you.😠

This is the first book that I have read by Violet Shay. I love when I find new authors and read their books.
Ryan is a billionaire who stepped away for his high-profile life style to focus more on his son Hudson. Jalisa is a school teacher. Being a school teacher is a challenging and demanding job, kudos to all the teachers out there that are teaching. Great job.
Ryan volunteers at his son Hudson’s school in his classroom and he is not only attracted to his son’s teacher Jalisa but falling hard and fast. The feelings are mutual for both. Ryan is unsure if he should take the next step or continue to be a volunteer but it is hard; Jalisa’s job is very important to her and not wanting things to wrong they both have a decision to make. So, they both go for it and this makes for a HEA.
Great job Shay Violet. Looking forward to reading more of books.

January 27, 2021Oh, the heat is HOT, and the physical chemistry is captivating so be careful you may just get burned all the heat coming off these pages. There were some "oh no" "oh wow" " what the what" moments and add in uncanny mishaps, and shenanigans the good kind that makes you keep turning the pages till last page has been turned. Sweet boy’s teacher meets boy’s billionaire father, and it is instant. Ryan is taking more interest in his sons schooling and being a little more present and he meets Jalisa his son’s schoolteacher the attraction and chemistry is instant for the two of them but with his high-profile life and her being a teacher, oh and throw in a little boy with all sorts of tricks up his sleeves it gets a little more complicated then either of them expected. Can they find their way to each other and to a HEA?

Ryan need a new start to teach his son that not everything is about being privileged. After the divorce from his wife he needed to start from the bare bones and get his son back on track. This is where he meets Ms. Green. She is the first grade teacher for his son. The attraction is there but avoidance is also there because of her position at the school and not wanting to be the root of rumors. Interesting way how he gets in contact with her by volunteering to be the class parent. From the other relationship starts to but he’s worried about his son and six hard vice I’ll try to tame his attraction for her. Good read. The conflict definitely there. The resolution is still in the horizon. Cliffhanger? Nope.

Should they start a relationship which risks all that Jalisa has worked for as there will be consequences, will it be worth it?. And is Ryan prepared for the fallout a relationship with his son's teacher is likely to cause to him and his son?

I enjoyed reading this and love the maturity of this couple. They just fit. Both are dedicated and equally have a few jitters when it comes to their instant attraction. Great pace & build-up with a few interesting tidbits and very entertaining journey to fall in love when least expected regardless of naysayers. I truly appreciate the plot focus sans drama overload which allowed me to get wrapped up in the intensity of their mutual attraction and their sweetness of their romance with some steamy moments. Short but simple
No real conflict so nothing to overcome so if youre looking for that, pass on this.
Cute enough story, but i would have preferred more interactions with Jalisa and Hudson as well as Ryan and Hudson. I read the last book in thr series and decided i wanted to read all of them but I liked Cole & Aprils story better.
This ones not bad, but I wouldnt have read more had I not started at the end of the series. This one was just a little too short and...blandish. just an easy simple read with no misunderstandings.

Just when this novella was really interesting, it ended abruptly. I wanted to read more about the main characters' relationship. What about Hudson? Ryan's father and brother? What happened after Ryan spoke with Jalisa's principal? What about the relationship with Jalisa's co-workers? There were a lot of unanswered questions. The plot and characters were interesting. There just should have been more to the narrative.

Great job
I really enjoyed reading this book and wished I had read it first. Being divorced and raising his sin who didn't seem to want to get along with him was something he had to deal with.But thanks to the teacher his son had things seemed to have gotten better.But of course you can never be happy or even too careful because there's always someone trying to cause drama and not wanting to see you happy! Thanks for sharing now on to the next story!

Exciting Read!
I really enjoyed reading about Jalisa and Ryan! I think their meeting was by design and their chemistry was off the chain. I do believe that everyone who reads this book will enjoy it. I definitely recommend it to others. I also have to mention Hudson, Ryan's 7 year old son, who I just feel like he is such an awesome smart little boy who has seen a lot for a child his age. I just loved his character! I definitely recommend this book!

This a fun story and great beginning to the series.
Ryan is a single dad, struggling to connect with his son after his divorce. As a way to try to get closer to his son, Ryan volunteered to be Room Parent for his son's class. Ryan soon wants to get closer to his son's teacher, Jalisa, as well.
I enjoyed the chemistry between Jalisa and Ryan. The story has the right amount of heat.
I'm looking forward to the next book in this series. I can't wait to see what Ms. Violet has in store.

This is a short and sweet romance with a little bit of drama thrown in. I really like Ryan and Jalisa. They had great chemistry and seemed to fit together perfectly. I enjoyed the story line and the charters were great. I enjoyed the quick romance.

Ryan was newly divorced and trying to figure out the single parenting thing. Jamie's needed a Home Room Parent so Ryan volunteered. This leaves Hudson in between his teacher and his Dad. Love Conquers All and Hudson wants a baby brother so he helps his Dad court Ms. Jamie's Green.

Loved this!!
Shay Violet has done it again with any awesome short story! The chemistry between Ryan and Jalisa was so deliciously sweet I couldn't put my kindle down. And Ryan's son Hudson, what a cutie! I loved everything about this book. It's definitely worth the read. 5 ⭐'s for sure.

Back to Love. I enjoyed this story! This short book was a heartwarming story about finding love where you least expect it. Ryan steps away from his CEO job to raise his son after getting a divorce. He meets his son's teacher and can't get her out of his mind. This begins a love affair no on saw coming. A great read!!!

A Whole Snack!
Shay Violet’s writing talent is delicious! I’ve devoured every single story by her to my utter satisfaction. Ms. Violet is a keen observer of the human heart and interactions. Sweet

The ending was ..........
The ending was really bad. You were reading along and it just stopped. The earlier parts of the story were decent and it was a nice love story between Jalisa and Ryan, but the ending makes the story feel incomplete to me.

Very short and sweet novella!

Ryan and Jalisa hit it off like a house on fire. One small problem - she's his kid's teacher. But that doesn't stop his pursuit, with him showing up to support her and his son in the classroom. Short and a little steamy.
