In Overcoming Insomnia, Ray Comfort―a former insomnia sufferer―gives common sense and spiritual help for a problem that plagues a large segment of our society. Overcoming Insomnia is not a clinical book. It is practical and spiritual. The author has suffered from insomnia and is not just a person describing it from a medical standpoint. Ray Comfort is a bestselling author who has written more than fifty books, including Overcoming Panic Attacks, The Evidence Bible (a 2002 Gold Medallion Award finalist), and 101 things Husbands Do to Annoy Their Wives, Thanks A Million, Way of the Master, Intelligent Design vs Evolution, and God Doesnt Believe in Atheists. He is also the cohost (with Kirk Cameron) of the awardwinning TV program The Way of the Master. His ministry has been commended by Franklin Graham, David Wilkerson, John MacArthur, Josh McDowell, Joni Eareckson Tada, and many other Christian leaders.
Ray is the Founder and CEO of Living Waters and the best–selling author of more than 80 books, including, Hell's Best Kept Secret, Scientific Facts in the Bible, and The Evidence Bible. He co–hosts (with actor Kirk Cameron) the award–winning television program "The Way of the Master," seen in 200 countries. He is also the Executive Producer on the movies "Audacity," "180," "Evolution vs. God," and others, which have been seen by millions. He and his wife, Sue, live in Bellflower, California, where they have three grown children.
Serving in youth ministry and being a teacher, I experience young people having issues with anxiety, depression, and sleep deprivation. It breaks my heart. That’s why I was looking for answers to the questions I had in Ray Comfort’s book. Though he provides several methods and practical steps to help with insomnia, I find the focus sometimes shifting from insomnia to personal experiences that have nothing to do with the topic itself. Also, there is no actual and in-depth scriptural study of “sleep” and “sleeplessness” in the book.
Maybe 1% of the book is about sleep issues The rest is evangelical which is fine but that is not why I bought it I love his other books and thought he might have some insight aside from common knowledge about sleep routines
