This couple was so wholesome and healthy that the age gap that would have been a huge no for me, didn't bother me. I binged all of it in a sitting

I adore Haruhi so much, and this entire story is so sweet. So adorable were the extras.

I swear please let this have a translated version of the paperback cause this manga has my whole heart.
Their relationship is stronger than ever and it was so heartwarming, wholesome and cute. The author had wrapped up the manga well and this manga had shown, despite age, love is doable when you're loyal to your partner, practices communication in the relationship, does not hide truths from your partner and is openly accepting to their flaws.
I love both of the characters so much along with the side characters.
Strongly recommend!! I'll be having a manga hungover :(

I totally feel like a 15 yo gal back.
P.s. something that I really appreciate in this age gap manga I've been binging, was how much the father of the heroine always left the advice to the hero to take a better care of themselves (so that they could live longer and make their daughter happy. Like, you almost never see this in western romance.)

April 14, 2021ended up really loving this one!! of course, it's not perfect but i like how a lot of things were handled in this manga. overall, an endearing read that brought a lot of light to my miserable week.

O jacie, ale ekstra, że ponownie się spotkaliśmy!
Zapewne nie pamiętasz, jak się nazywam, ale nie martw się, bo
już Ci przypomnę.
Nazywam się Haruhi Fukunada- pracująca na własną rękę kobieta, która nie lubi słuchać swego stanowczego ojczulka.
Pewnego razu nawet tak bardzo się z nim pokłóciłam, że podpisałam oświadczenie o zawarciu małżeństwa z nieznanym mi nigdy wcześniej mężczyzną.
Śmieszna historia, prawda?
Chociaż w sumie nie taka zła, na jaką mogłoby się wydawać, ponieważ Nagato Sunohara okazał się całkiem miłym staruszkiem, przy którym postanowiłam już na zawsze zostać...
Jedyne co nam teraz pozostaje, to przekonanie surowego Ryujigo, by oddał moją rękę Nagato.
Trzymajcie kciuki, aby się udało!
„Od tej pory nie będę już nazywać Cię staruszkiem”.
Przepiękne zakończenie

Zaletą tej mangi było to, że nie jest to przesłodzony na wskroś romans, z czego naprawdę byłam zadowolona.
Relację pomiędzy córką a ojcem w tej części były PRZE-CU-DOW-NIE przedstawione.
Nie zliczę nawet, ile razy się zaśmiałam ^^'
Ojciec Haruhi to niewątpliwie dobrze napisana postać drugoplanowa (o wiele lepsza niż Aya Kuriki i Hibiki razem ze sobą wzięci).
Ryuji kieruję się swoimi przekonaniami, a powód, dla którego nie chce oddać córki czterdziestodwuletniemu mężczyźnie, był dla mnie wyjątkowo zaskakujący.
Serio nie spodziewałam się tego i w pełni rozumiem jego obawy.
Odnośnie wszystkich wydanych już części, to cóż mogę rzec...
Każdy tom posiada sześć rozdziałów związanych z fabułą, a reszta to dodatki uzupełniające, które wcale nie są takie niepotrzebne, bo dzięki nim poznajemy jeszcze bliżej wszystkie postacie.
Byłam pozytywnie zaskoczona dodatkami w trzecim tomie.
Pewnie też część z was zastanawia się skąd pomysł na tak dziwny tytuł.
Jest to ostatni tom, więc czas wyjaśnić, co kryje się tak naprawdę za tą dosyć nietypową nazwą.
„Sól z pieprzem i pudding” nawiązuje do wyglądu naszych głównych bohaterów.
Haruhi posiada jasne z odrostami pasma przypominające pudding, zaś Nagato siwe jak sól z pieprzem włosy.
„Będziemy szczęśliwi!”
Nie mogę też nie wspomnieć o cudnych kadrach, gdzie na pierwszym planie widoczne były dłonie - to właśnie one grały w tej całej historii kluczową rolę.
Dzięki nim można było zauważyć niesamowitą więź między Haruhi a Nagato.
Bardzo się cieszę, że udało się wydać tę serię w Polsce i jestem też pewna, że manga autorstwa Yufuko Suzuki otuli i rozgrzeje wasze serca ♡

"Stay by my side for the rest of my life".
This was a charmingly romantic ending. I really enjoyed all of the cute extra scenes, especially the glimpses of their family life. and the revel that they have the same star signs as myself and my husband, no wonder I like them so much. Normally I might complain about such a short run for a comic, but I feel like this one really did make great use of it's time, especially these last two volumes.

Cute per usz.
I really loved this couple but I do wish we had more time with just them being a couple. I also get why they moved back to Haruhi's hometown but I kind of wish they had been able to enjoy their time together in the city, THEN eventually move.
I also liked that the main reason for the dad's hesitance relating to his daughter was the fear that she would end up alone like he did when Haruhi's mom died early, and so eventually came around.
And AGAIN, the translations are rough. You'd think by a certain point a better editor and/or translator would be hired but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

this manga was SO cute! 22 year old doesn't want to move back home so she marries a hot dude she finds at a bar only to find out he's 42 and they fall in love as they cohabit in her apartment. she's messy and spirited while he's a neat freak and more serious and it's heartwarming from start to finish! i cannot recommend it enough

November 30, 2025unpopular opinion but i didn't like this series as a whole. i like the first volume but it kept going downhill to me. it got boring, i stopped caring about the male love interest, started getting annoyed by the FMC.

I am such a sucker for stories where the main couple works together as a unit. A lot of shojo manga (though I suppose this is more of a Josei) plots rely on silly conflicts and misunderstandings that put strain on the main romantic relationship but Sesame Salt and Pudding successfully goes in a different direction. While I don't think there's anything overly unique about the story (it certainly has it's fair share of tropes), it's just so darn enjoyable.
I really liked the dynamic between Haruhi and Nagato and I think that most of the issues they dealt with as an age-gap couple (e.g. getting the approval of Haruhi's dad) were handled well and in ways that made perfect sense. While some got on my nerves *cough cough Hibiki*, I liked the overall cast of characters and the way they all fit together.
I'm impressed that, with the entire story only being three volumes, I was so quickly attached to the main characters and invested in their relationship. While the cuteness makes me wish Sesame Salt and Pudding was longer, the story has a nice arc as is and really doesn't need expansion, so I can't say that I'm not content.
Overall I think the age gap was well written and felt natural (I appreciate that both characters were independent adults before meeting each other) and the main couple had so much mutual respect.

this was such an enjoyable josei manga that I've read in a while! both main leads are so mature, communicative with one another, accepts each other's highs and lows, respect one another, and in the end, just WHOLESOME. completely WHOLESOME. the age gap is pretty shocking in the beginning (the girl is in her early 20s, 22 i believe, and the guy is in his 40s, so ... twice her age) and it's also mentioned a lot in the story in a logical way, but the way it was handled just made me think, ok i trust this guy, he's definitely the one. and the girl is also pretty much a strong character on her own, and i so so admire her for her mental and physical strength over every issue that's thrown to her, she's amazing!
i had some problems, however, considering the other characters of this story that just seemed unredeemable, and idk, i just don't really know how to feel about them (read : the childhood friend, and female friend) the fact that they ended up together too (spoilers!) was pretty ... peculiar since there was little to no development shown, but it didn't really affect me anyway.

Pretty standard slice of life, romance manga. Very cute and fluffy. Main characters have a great relationship and chemistry. They respect and treat each other like equals despite the age gap. It's not boring and the story progressed quite quickly. Overall it's not a very unique story but it's a extremely nice and cute.
