Off-limits? We’re on my turf now. Workaholic playboy, hookups but nothing more—that’s my style.Or it was, until Amanda did me a favor. My assistant, dedicated, delicious, and so forbidden.I summoned her to my hometown. We were supposed to be working.Out of the office, it’s a different playing field. No rules. Winner takes all. Because I mean to take ALL of her. What do you do when something forbidden feels so right? You do it again and again. All night long.
Quick OM/YW office romance. Tom and Amanda were so good together. They try to fight their feelings but love doesn’t listen. The chemistry and attraction between them was so good. Loved them as a couple. Great read that will help you pass the evening and leave you satisfied.
An overall ok read. I can’t pinpoint what didn’t work for me but I didn’t really connect with the main characters. Also the title is a bit misleading for me. Nothing really taboo other than he’s her boss but no one really made a big deal about it and the age gap wasn’t that big either. Not too much drama either. It was ok but I skimmed a lot too.
I started to fall in love with the whole Anderson clan in ‘Second Chance Baby’, and this time we get to know Tom, the eldest brother, better. I really liked Tom. He’s doing everything in his power to hold the family together and make sure that everyone’s taken care of. I was a lot more hit and miss with Amanda. Theirs is billed as an age-gap romance, but there really isn’t much of a fuss about the difference that I could find anywhere in the book. Even the characters themselves don’t act like there’s a very big difference between their ages. I quite liked that fact. But it was when Amanda was acting much less than her age that I got frustrated with her. There were several times I wanted to nail her shoes to the ground so that she’d stay in one place long enough for the pair of them to talk. I loved where they finally end up, but I did wonder if they would ever get there. I also found that there were some plot threads about Tom’s business that get picked up, but we never see proper conclusions to them. I thought they were leading us someplace in particular and instead I’m left with some unanswered questions. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout.
If you read Second Chance Baby, you will remember Tom as the oldest brother who bought a bar in his home town so his brothers could run it and work together. Tom lives in San Francisco and runs a multi million dollar company. I don’t know what Tom would have done if he didn’t have his secretary Amanda. Amanda was amazing on how organized she was and keeping Tom straight. I felt bad for Tom when he gets a call that the bar his family owns was burnt to the ground. I can understand how Tom would forget some important items in his office when he ran off to help his family. I know Amanda was shocked when Tom asked her to fly his computer to his home town and stay and work there for awhile. Everyone around the two saw how they had a spark between them even though they didn’t admit it. It was very interesting all the two went through as well as Tom’s family. I loved the ups and downs and reconnecting with characters from the last book. I loved the book and strongly encourage you to read it. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.
I really hate writing bad reviews but sometimes you have to! The title to this book is very misleading. The H and h had no chemistry! I found this one very boring and skimmed over half just to see if maybe the story improved but it did not. Sorry but this one was a no for me!
I have never DNFd a book but this was shocking. I have no idea what I have been reading. Its the first time reading a book by this author and i don't think ill be reading another.
Older man/younger woman romance. Amanda and Tom are a well-oiled working machine. As her assistant she keeps in organized and on track. When an emergency arrives, she us there to help. What will happen when sparks begin to fly? Fast-paced read with loads of drama and emotion. Great characters with lots of depth and amazing chemistry. I really liked it.
Tom has been trying to keep his family settled in his hometown with a bar after his father passed away. Amanda has been his hardworking (and slightly OCD) secretary for years in the San Francisco headquarters. But when Tom's family bar was burned down, everything changes. Drawn back to his hometown to hold the family together while everything gets settled, Tom requests his ever-faithful secretary to come along. But the feelings that have been harboring between them since Amanda's hiring boil over into passion-filled nights. With their return to San Francisco looming in the background of their thoughts, the relationship between Tom and Amanda has never been more uncertain. Especially with their unexpected addition.
I wanted to throttle Amanda so much over the course of this book. Between the constant reminders of how organized she is (OCD much) and how Tom wouldn't survive without her to her constantly running away from her problems, I was over her. I didn't like her much. Tom was a much better character and I really enjoyed how much he tried to hold his family together. Sure, he wasn't always around, but he did his best to take care of everyone and provide them with everything they need. I liked some of Tom's younger brothers more than others mainly because of how they reacted throughout the entire arson investigation, but understandable since tensions are running him. Ava was adorable and so was Susan (Tom's mom), they were the absolute best and were so welcoming to Amanda and gave her some pretty good advice throughout the book. This book seems to describe itself as a romance between an older man and a younger woman, but for the most part, I don't really see much mention of it or issues caused by the age gap. You kind of don't notice until Amanda mentions him being more experienced, etc. I didn't really enjoy the unexpected baby, but it was pretty clear that was the direction it was going. Plus it really forced Tom and Amanda to get serious about their feelings and finally talk their shit out. The fact that literally all the characters talked about how they thought something was going on between the two but it was ignored by the main characters exacerbated me. But it was eventually a happily ever after which is great.

It's good to be back with the Anderson in Astoria, Oregon, even under bad circumstances. Tom is the oldest of for brothers, a workaholic, runs a successful company in San Francisco and portrayed as a no nonsence type of guy. Amanda is his younger secretary, dedicated to her job, organized and keeps Tom's life and therefore his company running smoothly. There is an attraction they hide from each other and it's about to go up in smoke like The Hallow!! Tom drops everything to get home to help his brothers when he gets the call that someone burned down their bar The Hallow and they know who did it. Workaholic as he is he left his laptop at the office and it's Amanda to the rescue. What starts as a few days in Tom's hometown turns into bonding with his family, sharing a hotel room, rebuilding The Hallow and turning a crush into a heat seeking relationship. It bothers her when Tom introduces her as Amanda but with no tag as to what they are, until she overheard has conversation with his brothers that she is just has secretary. Bam... time to head home and heal her broken heart. She won't takes has calls, texts or emails unless it's business related and he's falling apart without her. What happens when she gets that plus sign in a little stick that will change her life forever?? Will Tom say the hell with the rules and feel her now he feels before it's too late?? WOW!!! Tom and Amanda really rock this story. With all that is going in in Astoria Tom gets his chance at finding love, he just has to man up and admit it. The characters are great and it's awesome to catch up with the family. A MUST READ!! Natasha L. Black weaves a believable story with real characters and real emotions. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and purchased a copy for my favorites collection. Looking forward to see who is next to fall.

A wonderfully written office romance storyline. Tom CEO and one of the Anderson brothers. He was used to being in control. He had helped his brothers by purchasing a run-down now family run business to help support the family. Tragedy brought Tom back home to help the family, after realising that his left his laptop behind he asks his secretary Amanda Myers to fly out from San Francisco bring it to him and work remotely. Tom had always respected Amanda and her ability to keep him focused and help him run his business, although he often let his thoughts wander, he remained professional.
Amanda couldn't believe Tom had charted a private plane and asked her to work remotely from his families hometown. Amanda had sometimes thought about Tom her slightly older gorgeous boss, although he had never crossed the professional line.
That is until he did.
Confused with her feelings about everything going on and the way Tom was reacting only made Amanda more concerned. Wonderful characters, great storyline and plenty of action drama suspense and chemistry. Highly recommended reading.
Amanda is Tom's secretary/assistant and loves her job. When Tom gets a call from his brothers about the family bar being burned down he rushes there to handle it. Amanda and Landon are in control of dealing with the daily things for Tom's business. Tom calls Amanda and asks if she can fly there with his laptop and some work stuff so he can work in between dealing with the bar. Once she arrives she is introduce to Tom's family and quickly becomes drawn into the family. Sparks fly between her and Tom as they drop into an even more casual relationship than a work on. its not long before things heat up between them and things change completely between them. However when Amanda overhears Tom talking to his brothers she learns something she didn't like and decides to leave. Will Tom admit his feelings for her before its too late? Can they find out who burned the bar down?
This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
Ms. Natasha Black has once again published a creative book for us. I can not think of a single time Ms. Black has ever let me down with her storylines as well as the characters she designs for yhem. Taboo Boss is another beautifully written and totally engrossing romance.
CEO, Tom, is certainly one gorgeous and successful man, however, it is his Secretary, Amanda, that keeps him grounded. When trouble occurs with the Family bar, and Tom must return to his hometown to assist, he finds discovers just how much he needs Amanda by his side. Tom and Amanda have hidden their true feelings for one another for years, however, as this amazing storyline picks up speed, so does their chemistry. Can they take the chance to be together or will their chemistry and heat burn them? Follow along on their journey to get their happily ever after.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Taboo Boss in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion.
I couldn't recommend reading anything published by Ms. Natasha Black more.
I liked the story though I felt like it dragged in some places. I'm much more accustomed to the Boss/Employee romance where it's an enemies to lovers or a very alpha demanding boss who is kind of a jerk and that's jut not how Tom was. I also got a little sick of Amanda running away from everything but that was pretty small. I did feel like it dragged a bit near the middle/end.
I don't really consider this an OM/YW romance because that was hardly mentioned. In fact, I don't even believe that they state Tom's age except for a passing reference that he didn't think he was going to have kids at his age. It's not like Amanda is super young either, she is 29. I feel like they played that up in the title and I'm not sure why but if that's what you're looking for you're really not going to find it here. It was mostly just an accidental pregnancy with my boss book. If that's what you're looking for then this is the book for you.
A lot going on including love! Amanda is the secretary to the CEO of a multimillion dollar company, but Tom really relies on her to not only keep his life organized, but also to put out the small "fires" and keep everything running smoothly. He and his brothers own a bar in their hometown, and he splits his time between the two places. He gets a call from one of his brothers that the bar had burned down, and that it was probably arson. Immediately he grabs Amanda, and they head out together. While there and having to share a room due to limited accommodations, their relationship changes when they give into their mutual attraction. This mystery/love story will draw you in a hold your attention until the last word. P.S. Would love to have the brothers’ stories. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I love Natasha's books and in this one we get to re connect with some characters from previous stories This is Tom and Amanda's story
We met Tom in Second Chance Baby he is the brother who is part owner in the bar but also he runs his own business away from that and he splits his time between the two The only reason he can do this is because he has a wonderful Pa in the shape of Amanda who can put out fires for him without his assistance But she can't help with the fire that has destroyed the bar and it looks like arson. Rushing to be by his brothers side Tom takes Amanda with him never expecting that they would have to share a room . This close proximity makes passion flare between them Has this one night stand playboy finally met his match and will he be able to convince Amanda he has changed his ways and wants a future with her.
Failure to communicate almost ends something good before it can really begin Taboo Boss by Natasha L. Black is an engaging office romance that only gets off the ground once Tom and Amanda leave the office. These two have a perfect professional relationship that Amanda is the foundation of. She’s the glue that keeps Tom and all his responsibilities together. But underneath it all, Tom is attracted to Amanda in every way about her. The plot gets Tom away from the office and places him and Amanda in a more personal setting. The setting becomes an opportunity to explore the attraction, but a failure to communicate creates an even more complicated situation. Overall, this taboo office romance is intriguing and engaging with wonderful characters that find their way and eventually a HEA. I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
Tom and Amanda have a great working relationship...completely professional, until some time away from the office keeps them in close contact. I like the premise of the romantic dynamic and the mystery of who burned down Tom's family bar. However, it is a little slow in some spots and at times Tom and Amanda's reactions to situations and events were less than mature and somewhat annoying. Tom's family, his mother and brothers are a very supportive group that gives balance to the drama and undefined relationship he is experiencing with Amanda. I especially liked the conclusion of finding out who the arsonist is even if certain aspects seem unrealistic. Tom and Amanda's totally happy ending takes a bit to get there but, it's worth the wait.

I didn't realize that I needed Tom's book when I read Mason's. But here we are and I loved it.
Amanda was Tom's secretary and kept his life in order pretty much 24/7. But, when the bar that Tom bought for his brothers to help out with their parents, who were both battling cancer, burned to the ground, Tom had to go back home and sort it all out. After Tom got to Astoria he realized that he left his laptop and asked Amanda to hop on the company jet and bring it to him.
What a great story with great characters and some really smoking sexy times.
Who burned down the bar? Will Tom and Amanda give into their desires? Will they rebuild the bar? Will Tom and Amanda cross the line? So many questions? This book also has a great epilogue.
Amanda Myers is the curvy, bright secretary to CEO Tom Anderson. Tom runs his large corporation in San Francisco but also owns a bar with his four brothers back in his hometown of Astoria, Oregon. He gets a call that the bar has burned down and may be arson so he flies home to help his brothers. He forgets his laptop and asks Amanda to bring it to him and plan to stay a while to help him. They end up sleeping together and kind of fall into a casual relationship. She overhears him telling his brothers she is just his secretary and she goes back to San Fran and applies for a transfer. She finds out she is pregnant and goes back to Astoria to tell him. He is in shock and does not react well. They eventually clear up their misunderstanding s and get their HEA.
I'm always a little put off when the "younger girl" is more mature the the older man. And in this case Amanda has been Tom assistant and go-to-person for several years as he has grown his business in San Francisco into a multi-billion dollar success. He has always been attracted to her, but never acted on it, but circumstances change. On a trip to his hometown on the Oregon Coast, he forgets his laptop, but Amanda comes to the rescue, bringing it to him. She stays to help after the family bar burns down, and sparks turn into more. I liked Amanda a lot, but Tom was at times pretty immature. But overall, the book was a well paced, steamy read with a HEA. I received an ARC and this is my honest review.
I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is the love story between Tom and Amanda. He is the older brother who is running a multi million dollar company in San Francisco. Amanda is his very competent secretary and all around personal assistant. When he has to travel back to his home town suddenly due to a fire, he forgets things. Amanda brings them to him and plans to work with him from there for a short while. They cannot deny the attraction once the office setting falls away. Tom wants Amanda and plans to keep her. Now he has to convince her of that. I enjoyed the characters and their chemistry. The story is well written

This book is great! We first met Tom in Second Chance baby which was his brother Masons book. Tom and his brothers own a bar together in their home town but Tom is CEO of a business in another town. He splits his time between the two places. Amanda is his secretary and the person who he relies on to run his life. Over the years they have become friends. Tom gets a call from his brothers that the bar had a fire and it was suspected arson. As Tom and Amanda spend time in his hometown helping to figure out the bar stuff they end up giving into the attraction they feel. Their story is full of chemistry and love. I can’t wait to read more of the brothers stories!
This book brings us Tom and Amanda. Tom lives in San Francisco and owns his own company. He is a workaholic and has numerous relationships, but nothing steady and not permanent. His assistant is Amanda. She is beautiful and he knows that nothing can happen as he depends on her for most everything. However, he asks her to go to his hometown for work, and suddenly he doesn't care what happens after work hours. Everyone sees their chemistry but them, and as much as they both try to deny it, and misunderstandings and communications, the story is all wrapped up in a pretty bow. This was a great read and I highly recommend it. I did receive an arc for an honest review.
Loved this reconnection with the brothers... The hero is the oldest brother, Tom, a successful businessman. The heroine is his hardworking industrious secretary who keeps him in check whilst multi-tasking. In his hometown where he's trying to assist with a family crisis & run the business remotely he's booked a hotel suite for them, assuming 2 bedrooms etc but there's a mix up & they are forced to share a small bedroom, bathroom & lounge. Being the gentleman he is he lets her have the bedroom but pretty soon they're sharing everything. Miscommunication & misunderstandings abound but he eventually gets his act together but can he win her & their unborn child back? I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
Wow, Tom was way more than I expected. He is stubborn, hardworking & a much nicer guy than I thought. He life line to keep him organized is his secretary Amanda, but he has a bit of a crush on her. This story was sweet, slow burn but ended good. I am not sure why this book is considered taboo or an age gap, it just isn’t a part of this storyline. From the title I expected this storyline to be a lot more taboo. There were side storylines with the business we never see conclusions to & although we see the ending to these two as a couple, the story seems a bit unfinished.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the story about Tom and Amanda. Natasha has woven a powerful story about time the eldest brother and his secretary. There is a lot of action, drama, steamy moments between the two main characters and intrigue behind the building down of the family pub/bar. You can’t help falling in love with these two characters well they struggle to find their place in each other’s lives and work out their feelings for each other. Coupled with the support of their loving family, they just can’t lose out in finding their happily ever after.
I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and review with my honest and fair opinion.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Oh wow, this is definitely a feel good story of Tom and Amanda, I absolutely loved it. Tom and his Secretary Amanda have always gotten along. Amanda is so efficient and Tom would be lost without her. If only he realised what an asset she is. It’s all work, conference calls, business trips, it’s never ending. Will they ever get time to relax. Then a family emergency arises and now the fun/interesting things begin. A lovely read about all the brothers, the mystery of who burnt down their bar and a big shock (but good) for Amanda. Brilliantly written story, I loved it
Could not even finish this book, I got about 53% of the way into it and could not do it anymore. There was a complete lack of any kind of excitement, no chemistry between the main characters whatsoever. Every time something seemingly exciting is beginning to happen. It gets shut down right away and then switched to another point of view and a totally different day with a totally different scene with absolutely nothing happening. Honestly just not a great plot, so much potential and it didn’t go anywhere. The only reason I gave two stars is because the writing and grammar was the only saving grace.
