This is a fun series about a fictional Kentucky town and the quirky people who live there. I enjoyed the romances spanning the whole series - both a couple falling in love, and an older couple whose love has stood the test of time. There's a lot of good stuff about all kinds of relationships - between friends, between couples, between neighbors, within a community, at work, and so on. I stayed up way too late finishing the last novella!
I lived in Goose Creek, SC many years ago. But it was nothing like Goose Creek, KY. Millie and Albert are the central characters in this whole series and it was fun getting to know them and others in this small community. A new vet, delinquent (mischievous) boys, a town softball team, quirky coworkers and neighbors and lots of fun, love and laughter. I might even try some very unusual recipes.
An easy and fun collection of books by Virginia Smith. Goose Creek is a quiet little town in Kentucky, inhabited by quite an eclectic mix of people. I was easily drawn into their lives and the "drama" of Goose Creek.
Reading this collection was like making new friendships. The characters, setting and situations were plausible with just a slant to feel good escape. I recommend these books to anyone who enjoys reading about gentle people.
The characters were brought to life and made me giggle as I read. I don’t ever recall laughing so much while reading books. I want to visit Goose Creek, if only I could.
