Cheyenne is leading the Drows at last. But there’s still a lot that could go wrong.
Bianca is still cursed and could bring the blight down on them. The Nimlothar forest could burn and all the Drow with it. But wait, there’s more…
The O’gúleesh in Hangivol blame her for destroying their livelihood when they should have thanked her for destroying the blight. Cheyenne’s not a fan either.
And now a new enemy is playing with portals on Earth.
It’s one thing after another for the Goth Drow. How does she fix one problem without creating four more?
Cheyenne will need the help of Inolu Roth the banebreaker who charges a hefty price for clearing curses. Turns out she paid for a little extra mayhem, too. How will she keep everyone alive and intact while working with the FRoE?
Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
It is alway sad to see the end of a series but as a reader to the writers I want to say leave it alone. Let our imaginations take us where they will unless you find the characters are talking to you and telling you their story is not quite done.
The very large story arc has gone a long way and it was a wonderful ride. One I so very much felt a part of. I was right there with Cheyenne throughout as she put each puzzle piece together even if she did not want to see them fit there and wanted something else there. She became a force to recon with like her mother. I loved watching her grow and I know that I will be reading this series again and again.
I know some people complain about what they call long books. Frankly I LOOK for them asfor me I feel that this is where you can really get into the depth of the characters and really show who they are and what makes them tick. What is it about them that makes them so very real and not just another flat surface with no meat. I truly cared what happened to each and every one of the characters that I came to know throughout this series. I know for sure I will be looking into some of your other series.
Thank you for a great time in such a unique world.
The authors are very good at describing the on-going story without going overboard, keeping the reader looking forward to what is happening in the story...I am not just mentioning this series but all of their series.
I am guessing that this particular series is meant to be read first among the magical world known to the authors and readers of the multiple Oriceran series, as many things did not make sense (such as most magicals in the other series were able to create their own portals unassisted as well as create guards against the creatures of the 'world-in-between' coming through the portals, etcetera)?
So, in my opinion readers should start with this series first. [wink]
Another fantastic series from Martha. From someone that grew up on Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms in the late 80's and 90's and the stories of certain Drow Ranger and The Companions of the Hall. Now in my late 40s and still loving a great series about a Drow. The Goth Drow meshes our world with the world of magic. Just like magic Marthas ability to spin stories that leaves you craving more and more. A definite must read. That's from someone who's been reading about Drow for 33 years. Thanks for what you do Martha Carr. It really makes a difference in this messed up world to have good books to take us somewhere else in our minds. THAT Is the true Magic
Cheyenne is a Goth college chic with a predestined future that will change her life. Growing up with her famous single mother not knowing who her father is or how she came to be. Super advanced in tech but is working on her masters and college. She has a bbf Amber (aka a Fa e with not powers or is that another story hmm). The 1st book starts the story of Cheyenne's journey of accepts of herself and what she is meant to do to save everyone. Good Series-sold characters ..sold storyline..i do wish there was a lil more love connects made but all in all it was a Good Sunday afternoon read. Mrs. C.💋
Excellent series, excellent book and ending. I have rarely enjoyed a series as much as this one. I am also sorry to see the end of it as I will miss the characters and the action of Cheyenne's adventures. If you are a science fiction/fantasy fan, you will be quickly drawn into this series and will not want to put it down. I feel like I don't know what to do with myself now, like something is missing, an empty feeling. If the authors of this series come up with more about Cheyanne's adventures, I would love to see them. I am a HUGE fan.
I love the characters and the trouble that follows Cheyenne. This book was intense and had me on the seat of my pants the entire book. It was fast moving, but not too fast where details are lost. Some characters were revealed and became a little more than the background characters they were. I hope they are included in future books. The usual gang, plus many more fought the "villain" in the big battle. Again, intense. Looking forward to the next book and hope to see what happens to the refugees earthside next.
It might be called book 6 but it's a mega book otherwise it would have been book 18 great ending to the series loved it
Started the series reading the smaller book sets hit the end of them thought it was over then found out they were actually mega books out there that contained groups of these smaller books so I dug right in just finished could not be happier really good ending really good tying up of all the loose ends you come to really like the characters and want to read more about them but a completed so well it was a good finish to a great story
Just as Cheyenne thinks she can kick back, relax, and sort out earth side magicals; more problems read their heads at her. The Weave is no certain thing, and Cheyenne isn’t typical at all! Martha has used her own magic to draw the Weave and it’s impossible not to be completely immersed in the story.
I am heart broken to see the end.. one of the best urban fantasy series out there.. yes there's action but also heart felt emotion. There's wise cracks, comedy and heart pumping emotion.. I only hope the author decides to do a few more maybe a few years later in the lives of the charters .. a great entertaining read
Oh man, this series was the bomb. I loved reading every bit of it. Even though these are long novels I was never bored. Each one was action filled and had so much going on it was hard to put them down. I read them back to back and I'm glad I ran across them. I hope they'll be some more in the future. Definitely recommend them!
A goth Drow is not something you would see every day, but it is a welcome change in the "star" of the series. Cheyenne is a kick-butt half Drow, half Human computer geek who has one foot in two worlds. She gets dragged into the world of trolls, goblins, fae and other assorted magicals. Good book, exceptional read.
I really hate the end of a series. Especially a long, well I crafted series like the Goth Drow. I become invested in the characters and in what's happening in their lives. I look forward to what's coming, but this is it. Maybe we'll meet them again. Hopefully. If nit, it's been fun!!!
That was one of the best fantastical tales I have ever read. A definite rollercoaster ride right through on the best ghost train ever. You might notice a certain affinity for fairgrounds there, which were the most exciting things in my childhood therefore the comparison is justified. Nuff said.
I didn't see the ending happening this way. Big surprise. Not sure the point, I may have missed it. I like that activators and the ability to talk with the other side that was fun. Sad about her not getting her degree. Not sure what is next. I enjoyed the goth drow. Her cousin was something else and totally hilarious!
Read em all & OMG. She's like a young Drow we all know, in so many ways. But, Cheyenne can kick some ass as well. Amazing indeed. And then, let's not forget her friends who stand by her. Each, unique in their own way. From Far, to kitty Kats with 6 inch claws of steel, Nightstalkers, Drows, & monsters.
Our wonderful authors have outdone themselves. Highest ratings and praise for Cheyenne's last installment. I have loved every minute with the Both Drowning, and now I'm looking forward to the next magical adventure!!! Thank you for making 2020 more bearable!
There are too many things left to do, and too many unanswered questions for my satisfaction. This is a long story, and book, but I feel that more awaits. I hope the weary writers feel the same way. A great read.
I really enjoyed Cheyenne's journey to claim her destiny. With a reformed crazy drow father and bossy Bianca as mother on her Earthen side rule, I'm looking forward to see what she'll be doing next.
This series has been a rollercoaster ride, one big thing after another. It could and should be made into a major motion picture. If that ever happens, I recommend Johnny Depp play the role of R'leer. Thanks for the ride!
And better. The story pulled me in and the rich character development hooked me tight. If you're new to this series go to book 1 and start there. You won't be sorry. Here's hoping for book 7? (You know you want to, Ms Carr!)
A grand finale for an epic series. This one really had me wondering what was going to happen next! A lot of twists and turns and surprises. An intriguing world with intriguing characters. Thank you Martha and Michael once again!
This is an above average series, well-written, and, given the standard Fairyland/Humanland trope, still manages to imbue its characters, plot arc, and sub-plots with a surprising degree of originality. Very easy to read, plenty of action, and the protagonist has plenty of personality and power.
I have loved each and everyone of this series books! I love the quirky Goth Drow Cheyenne, her evolving magic and the continually evolving plot! A MUST READ series!
Fun series, hopefully the characters will come back in another series
This was a really fun series and I hope the characters return for another series as there is still a lot of fun stories to be had in this story universe. I recommend this book and series.
I love this series. What a creative amazing journey for anyone who reads the books. I love the humor the world-building and the storyline of the story. It is wonderfully made and you fall in love with the main character and her sidekick.
