I have dreamed for years of being able to climb the steps to board the amazing Orient Express train. After reading Hercule Poirot and his investigation on the Orient Express, and many subsequent novels and movies talking about it (especially this series), I definitely need to experience this train.

But the good news, if you are like me and can't get to the train right now, you can enjoy it through these books. Until Vienna showcases several stops that are actually along the Orient Express route. The art and culture and description of these places as well as the train itself transported me next to these characters experiencing it.

And if the fun of being there without being there isn't enough, the characters and storyline of this book pulled me in as well. If I could pick fictional characters to hangout with, travel with, laugh with, it would totally be Gigi, her Aunt Rowena, her friends and Professor Clyde Haskins.

From the very beginning of this book I felt drawn to Gigi's character. She has something from her past that is causing some pain and I loved watching her work through that incident. Aunt Rowena was a hoot! The whole book. I couldn't stop laughing at her antics. I just loved her. And I can't not mention her friends, Blanche and Irene. They're a great trio and their lists and banter and friendship and everything, just made this book so much fun. I might call them the Triple Hoot Team. ;-)

Aside from the humor and fun of this book, I really loved the relationship between Gigi and Clyde. The initial meeting, the building trust, the friendship, the chemistry that builds. And I really, really loved the honesty between them. That was so refreshing. Aunt Rowena might be trying to play matchmaker but Gigi and Clyde are onto the Triple Hoot Team. Watch out for the fun and entertainment in this book, you'll be hooked. Seriously. And the sweet love story that builds was just lovely. There are some ups and downs but, Gigi and Clyde have some great supporters in their corner.

The ending...happy sigh.

Oh, how I loved this book! I think we all can relate to Gigi in some way, we're just wanting to do our thing and want control of our own lives, but when this trip gets thrown her way, she decides to make the best of it. Gigi is a fantastic character. I loved her kind nature. I was a little annoyed by Aunt Rowena at first, but I grew to love her immensely. As much as I enjoyed Clyde's and Gigi's developing relationship, it was nice to see Gigi's relationship with Aunt Rowena improve. Even though Rowena was still who she was, Gigi accepted her silly ways and helped and cared for her in times of need. Aunt Rowena stole the show for me. The list she made about Professor Haskins was hilarious! I was laughing out loud. I loved Gigi's letters to her sister Lillian. We were able to get a glimpse of Gigi's true feelings and it added a special touch of details that were important to Gigi.

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book. I love the humor Gigi and Clyde share throughout the book. Aunt Rowena is hilarious as are her companions and friends Blanche and Irene. The Orient Express and the destinations are romantic and exciting. I don't want to spoil the book for anyone so I won't go into detail. I would HIGHLY recommend this book. It is pure clean romance and fun.

Just entertaining enough for me to finish it. Aunt Rowena’s humor made it fun. Otherwise, it was just okay for me. I wanted more ambiance and detail for the travel destinations, and the writing style felt too modern. There were a few swoony-type moments between the leads but overall the romance felt a bit too superficial and the “misunderstanding” at the end was rather ridiculous. However, it is a sweet, clean romance and I did appreciate the emphasis on enjoying ones elderly relatives rather than finding them a nuisance.

I loved my journey on the Orient Express!

I adore this series! The Orient Express is so fascinating and mysterious. I mean, it's just a train, but it's so much more, especially with the common thread of the peculiar foreign character--Nicholas.

Although the events and stops along the way were intriguing, it was the characters that completely won me over. Gigi is accompanying her aunt and friends on the journey and the professor leading the excursions is very likable. The older ladies had me laughing with their busybody antics and matchmaking. Oh, the matchmaking was such a fun element! Gigi and Clyde had a wonderful friendship that hinted at something more and had me cheering them on and swooning. I even loved the women close to Gigi who were left back home. Gigi had a very strong support system and adapted well to them all nosing into her business, as they all had her best interests at heart.

Moore does a brilliant job of bringing this time period and these delightful characters to life. I nestled right into this story and felt like I lived it along with them. Charming and sweet, this is a story that has stayed in my thoughts for days.

Content: mild romance

Wow!!! I could not put this book down. So wonderful...the story takes hold right away and carries you on a great adventure. Traveling throughout Europe is exciting, but the intrigue of the Orient Express is inspiring. The characters are written so well, you feel as if you know them personally. You could be traveling along side them. Fun, witty, intelligent and entertaining are words to describe them. Aunt Rowena, Lillian and Blanche are nosey and endearing. Gigi and Clyde are destined to be together. The story is simple, yet complicated. One of my new favorite books. This series is amazing. So excited for the next excursion on the Orient Express!

I’m loving these Romance on the Orient Express books. The feeling of being swept back in time to a far more elegant time just makes me happy. The authors have done an amazing job with their characters. And their settings.

This one was written by Heather B Moore. I love the way she wrote Georgina’s character. The whole story is told through her eyes and she does a great job of it. Georgina, aka Gigi, is a young woman with no current marriage prospects. Her aunt asks her to go with her on a European art tour. And they get to go on the Orient Express. I love how she meets professor Clyde Haskins on that tour. He was a great surprse.

Gigi’s aunt has many surprises up her sleeves during this book. Some good and some not as good. But through it all, Gigi remains true to herself.

I loved getting to see Nicholas again. Seeing little details like his character throughout this series really make each book fun.

Make sure you read this whole series. There is only one left after this one. That’s so sad!

I was sent a copy of Until Vienna as a gift from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

I have been really enjoying the series from Covenant communications and this book was no different. Until Vienna is the third book in Romance on the Orient Express series. It is so cool how different authors are writing different books and to see the parallels that hold the story together and yet the differences.
I liked Gigi and Clyde from the beginning. They were so much fun and I liked how they became friends first. They had a sweet relationship and I really enjoyed reading about their love for each other grow. Gigi had wanted to get married before, but failed relationships have made her realize the fact that she is not meant to marry.
Gigi’s aunt and her friends were hilarious! I loved them and their relationship, they were kind of shameless but so sweet. Gigi and Clyde were pushed together by Gigi’s Aunt while on the Orient Express but when Gigi and her Aunt are forced to leave early will their relationship still grow? Gigi cared for her Aunt and I loved how she was willing to sacrifice in order to care for her Aunt.
I would definitely recommend this sweet, clean romance! I loved the characters and the story line. There were parts where I wanted to shake Gigi, but she grew on me. Until Vienna was a great addition to the series and I can’t wait for the next book!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher through Netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, a positive review was not required.

Who wouldn't want to take a ride on the Orient Express train and go to Vienna? I know I won't be doing that anytime soon, but I was able to imagine what it was like when I read the latest in the Romance on the Orient Express series.

Georgina (Gigi) is talked into going on a trip with her aunt and the members of her whist club. What 24 year old wouldn't want to spend a month traveling with several women in their mid-60s? Well, don't feel too bad for Gigi, because her crafty Aunt Rowena has a plan.

What a great story! I loved Gigi. Reading about her made me think back to when I was only 24 years old. I wish I'd had a wealthy, independent aunt to take me on a fabulous train trip through Europe to visit museums and the exposition in Paris. Although Gigi and the handsome professor Clyde Haskins know what Aunt Rowena's up to, they pretend to go along with her matchmaking scheme. It was fun to watch their pretend interest in each other turn into something real.

Although I loved Gigi, my favorite character in the story was Aunt Rowena. She's so funny, and when she gets with her friends Blanche and Irene, well, you never know what they might say or do, such as play matchmaker. Their lists and conversations had me laughing out loud. It was fun to see older people have fun in the story, instead of being all stiff and stuffy. It was nice to find out a little more about the mysterious Nicholas.

We only have one more book in the series and I'll be sad to see my journey on the Orient Express come to an end. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, Covenant Communications, but bought an digital copy for my own library. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Until Vienna is the light hearted read you've been craving-- full of adventure, romance and meddling aunts who don't know when to quit.

Gigi has offered (somewhat complied) to accompany her aunt and her friends on an art tour across Europe on the Orient Express. Being the youngest person in the company sounds a bit mundane until she discovers the tour guide/professor is a strikingly handsome man who just might be the entertainment and the friendship she needs.

Clyde and Gigi develop a beautiful friendship that is obviously leading up to more...although neither party is in any rush to form an attachment. But with the magic of the train, and the history and beautiful sites of Europe...some feelings are harder to crush and turn aside. And it might take a little prodding and some humorous influences from her aunt to bring them closer together to realize what they have been missing all along.

Short, memorable and lovely, Until Vienna is a traveling romance you'll not want to miss.

Two broken hearts, sworn off love, thrown together on a tour
Gigi has sworn off romance and love after numerous disappointments and has begun to find fulfillment designing and sewing dresses, much to her mother’s dismay. Now her aunt, Rowena, has asked her to accompany her on a tour aboard the Orient Express. The chance to see the sights and art of some of Europe’s great cities can’t be refused. The first day, Gigi is introduced to Professor Haskins, the guide for the tour and a handsome, single man of Gigi’s age. However, Professor Haskins has had his own disappointments with a broken engagement in his past and is now a confirmed bachelor. As the tour progresses, Gigi and Clyde (Haskins) are thrown together as the small group travels. Both begin to wonder if perhaps their disappointments could be put in the past. A revelation of past uninvited interventions, current matchmaking, and an unexpected ending to the tour leave both Gigi and Clyde unsure of the future and what it could hold. An excellent book. I highly recommend it. I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book was just so sweet! It was an easy, quick read that I’m sure I’ll pick up again! The plot kept me interested, and the connection between the main characters was great. I loved learning a bit of history and loved the idea of the tour. I also really enjoyed the relationship that developed between Gigi and her aunt. That ending gave me all the warm feels and the epilogue was adorable. Would recommend!

This is a sweet and gentle story with bits of adventure along the way. Gigi is out of her element on the "seniors" tour with her aunt and aunt's friends, but Clyde and Gigi quickly become friends and vow to remain just friends in spite of her aunt's hopes for something more. The details of the tour stops were interesting and it reminded me of the spirit of discovery when I took my first trip to Europe a few years ago. Secrets and issues from Clyde and Gigi's previous relationships bring some drama and angst, but the foundation of friendship they develop continues right along the path to love. I especially liked how Gigi and Aunt Rowena connected in new ways and became closer as a result of their travel and care for each other. An enjoyable addition to the Romance on the Orient Express series!

This was a short, quick read that had me smiling from first page to last! I loved Rowena and her friends - they were such vivid characters and their matchmaking scheme was brilliantly fun. I enjoyed the cute love story between Gigi and Clyde and learning more about the Orient Express that they travelled on. I would have loved to hear more details about the cities and placed they visited, especially Vienna, but definitely enjoyed the things that were included.

4.5 stars for this wonderful addition to the Romance on the Orient Express series.

A beautiful story about finding love when you least expect it, building strong friendships and finding joy in life.
Georgina ‘Gigi’ is going on a long one month trip with her aunt Rowena, whom she is named after, Rowena Georgina Ballard, hence why she goes by Gogi! It is a guided tour through some of the most beautiful places to visit, like Vienna. I wish I had seen some of these places in reality, or even the artwork they saw on their tours because in my mind I couldn’t quite picture them, but they sound so stunning and like the absolute perfect vacation. After reading this book, I want to go on a trip like this.

Gigi is such a lovable character, I felt like the author made everyone jump off the pages, they came to life in my mind and I was so invested in their story! When Gigi meets Clyde, Professor Clyde Haskins, also their tour guide, there was an instant connection. Even in they claimed it to be friendship, we saw it for more, and it was adorable. Gigi was forthright with Clyde from the start, there were things happening behind the scenes that she made sure he knew, and because of that, she made a lifelong friend in him, she was honest and different from anyone he had ever met. And Clyde was unlike any man Gigi had met.
I felt every emotion along with the Gigi, her joy, tears, heartbreak, all of it. It takes a truly talented author to make a story feel so real. It has been a long time since I wanted to reread a book the second I finished it, but this one, I will not forget the unique setting and adorable romance of it.

I would absolutely recommend reading this book, just make sure you have time so spare because you will not be putting it down.

Content:
Romance: clean. Some kissing.
Violence: none.
Language: none.

Until Vienna by Heather B. Moore is an excellent historical fiction and historical romance that is the third book in the amazing series: Romance on the Orient Express.

I have to say, I have read all three books now in this four-novel series, and I have loved every one of them. I love that each book is by a different author, yet have the over-arching theme of finding love, self-appreciation, a path forward for their own lives, a second chance a happiness, all while traveling upon the same magical and gorgeous train (and meeting the mysterious Nicholas). Each author brings their slightly unique taste and writing style to their own respective books, but yet it all blends together wonderfully.

I loved Ms. Moore's narrative just as much as the two previous. Here we find 24 year old Gigi (Georgina) Ballard traveling with her aunt and her two elderly female friends as an escort on a month-long art and travel expedition across the beautiful and romantic landscapes of Europe.

On the brink of being written off as a spinster, the elderly women are hoping to find a life partner and husband for Gigi, possibly with the young, intelligent, and handsome professor that is leading the art group, Professor Clyde Haskins.

I loved so many things about this book. I love the main characters. I really liked Gigi and Professor Haskins separately as well as together. Both had excellent chemistry and seemed to bring the best out of one another when together. I liked how both had their own respective flaws, yet were working to better themselves and over come past obstacles. I also felt that by presenting both characters as having past relationship hardships and hiccups, that it made both more realistic and endearing. Both characters are honest, kind-hearted, and loyal. It was all perfectly created and it really added to the complexity of their profiles as well as the story.

I really liked the addition of Aunt Rowena, Lillian, Gigi’s mother, Irene, and Blanche. All were wonderful, sweet, funny, and sassy characters in their own ways. I enjoyed the light-hearted aspects they added as well as some of the obstacles that were placed upon our two main characters through no fault of their own.

I also really liked the descriptions of the fashions, drawings, locations, landscapes, and the beautiful art/food, and life that they all experienced during the tour.

I thought the storyline and pacing were excellent, the perfect balance of narrative, romance (ah the wonderfully depicted romance!!!!!), laughter, love, and hurdles/misunderstandings sprinkled throughout made the conclusion so much sweeter. I also really, really liked the ending. Perfect!

I can't wait for the fourth book in this series.

A must read! 5/5 stars

With this multi-author series, I find myself falling in love with the Orient Express a little more in each book. The descriptions make me wish I was on this multi-country tour of Europe.

Until Vienna holds some fun references to previous stories and we see Nicholas (who appears in the two previous books as well) a little more prominently.

Heather B. Moore had me traveling along with Gigi and experiencing her heartache, her embarrassment, her love, and her supports. I loved her walk in Vienna and her journey as she discovered that she really was an artist.

Between the Paris Exhibition and the other areas visited in this series, Art may be the star..

In addition to Gigi, I loved her aunt and her aunt's two friends. What a jolly group of traveling companions. I wasn't completely fond of her sister and mother in the beginning, but I felt like we might have just had a bit of a misunderstanding because all was well in the end.

I loved the luxurious descriptions and the fascinating places I have yet to see

This story was perfect in its tone and characters. There was growth and self-discovery that happens in the best of books. I received an early copy through NetGalley and this is my honest review, honestly, I am looking forward to purchasing this one when it comes out.

Penned by the talented Heather B. Moore, "Until Vienna" is the third novella in The Orient Express series. As in the previous two, this lovely contribution takes place during the 1900 Paris Exhibition (World's Fair). Gigi Ballard (AKA Rowena Georgina Ballard II) agrees to serve as her Aunt Rowena's companion upon The Orient Express for a European art tour. They are joined by two of Aunt Rowena's friends, Blanche and Irene. The three older ladies are a lot of fun, as Rowena is determined that her niece and tour guide Professor Clyde Haskins are perfect for each other. The enigmatic Nicholas with his indeterminate accent and foreshadowing pipe "smoke" makes a mysterious appearance.

Characters are well-drawn, and I quite enjoy Moore's writing style. This engaging book is lighthearted and sweet. I look forward to the final book in this wonderful series.

Thanks to NetGalley and Covenant Communications for an ARC of this charming novella.

I fell madly in love with this historical romance novel from the very beginning! The story follows Gigi Ballard, a young seamstress at the turn of the century, who embarks on the trip of a lifetime visiting a series of European art museums onboard the luxurious Orient Express. (Right there the plot had me in its grips!) Gigi is intent on remaining a single woman and devoting herself to her seamstress work. Gigi doesn't anticipate the playful meddling of her elderly aunt who sees her role on the trip as a matchmaker for Gigi and Clyde, a young, handsome art professor who, as tour guide for the group, is a single man but has been recently heartbroken and is now closed off to giving love a second chance. If Gigi's matchmaking aunt has her way, Gigi and Clyde's budding attraction will become a romance! This was a gripping love story that I didn't want to end! A beautifully written story capturing my heart and my imagination. For those who love a smart romance novel and historical fiction, this book is a true delight!

*sigh* You know those books that just leave you deliriously happy and feeling as though you had just consumed a most delicious meal? This book is just such a book. I adored Gigi from the very beginning. I always love a more timid character, who isn’t sure where she fits or her place in the world. It gives a lot of opportunity for growth and there definitely is that in this book.

Clyde Haskins was so great! I loved his genuine manner, the way he helped Gigi see her worth as a person, and his obvious love for his tour and guests. And the way their relationship progressed was so sweet and beautiful. The little twist toward the end caught me off guard and I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out how things would work out! But I needn’t have worried. Heather brought everything together marvelously.

Aunt Rowena is a riot! I loved loved how Gigi and Rowena grew closer and developed a strong bond with one another. That relationship dynamic was so well developed that even if we hadn’t had the romance (which I adore!), it still would have made a good story. And Rowena’s little group of friends! I just love them all. Their scheming to set up Gigi and Clyde is the best. Even though I typically get irritated when people interfere with other’s lives, somehow it was endearing coming from this group of eccentric ladies. Particularly the scene toward the end in the back garden! I was giggling like a school girl. So much sweetness!

I find now I desperately want to take a European art tour and eat Austrian chocolate.

Content: cancer, sickness; meddling old aunt; drama surrounding romantic relationship; romance elements very clean (and swoony!).

Quotes I liked that could potentially contain spoilers:

Twenty minutes ago, Gigi’s life had been predictable and plain, just how she liked it. Now she’d be living in close quarters with her aunt and her aunt’s whist club on a train. Well, then and unscrupulous older men. (5)

“You’re beautiful, Gigi. You just don’t know it yet.” (9)

The women hurried out of the hotel, as fast as women in their sixties wearing heeled boots could hurry.

Everything was quite delicious. Of course, they were in Paris, so perhaps that was a given.

“We must be strong, we must be brave, and we must be noble.”

Their arms didn’t brush, their hands didn’t touch, and that was a relief. And a disappointment.

“Eine Frau wird erst mit zunehmendem Alter schöner. A woman only grows more beautiful with age.”

Chocolate this rich and creamy deserved every bit of her fo us. She couldn’t look at anything or allow for any distraction. It was just her and the taste buds on her tongue wondering how one might live in Vienna and visit this shop every single day for the rest of her life.

“You show your feelings when you eat something you love.”
“And I loved that truffle.”

Gigi’s pulse has never raced so fast as it did when the professor leaned down and brushed his mouth against hers. Her fingers curled into his lapel, and she pulled him closer at the same moment he shifted his other arm about her waist. Drawing her in, he kissed her again slowly and deliberately as if he’d been thinking of this scenario before this moment.

“Zeh heart and mind are always connected,” Nicholas said quietly. “Zey can both heal, but it takes time. Some heal more quickly zhan others.” He paused. “Be patient a little longer, Miss Ballard. His heart vill soon be healed, and vhen it is, he vill come looking for you.”

“Hearts can change, you know. Time does that, and meeting the right person who has the power to change it.”

“You are a fine woman, my dear. Be proud of your accomplishments and the way you’ve loved your life. Don’t let another person’s decisions or preferences determine your own worth.”

#BookReview: UNTIL VIENNA by Heather B. Moore 4.5 stars

This is my second book by the author and I can say she’s a new favorite. I like how she incorporates family relationships, adventure and sweet romance in her stories. I truly enjoyed this journey with Georgina on the Orient Express. Aunt Rowena is stubborn but she can be funny too. Aunt Rowena and her friends are such dear ladies. I had fun with them as they stopped at every city. I had to research the names of the places they visited and some art that was mentioned. I felt I was part of the Twilight Tour too. The Vittoria Caldoni painting is beautiful and I was giddy when Professor Haskins showed it to Georgina. I also love reading Georgina’s letters to her sister, Lilian.

I still don’t know who Nicholas was. Why was he at the Orient Express? He was an interesting character. Now I want to read the other books in the Romance on the Orient Express series to see if he is there as well. But this one can be read as a stand alone.

I enjoyed the shared glances between Georgina and the Professor. Yes they became friends during the tour but I think that their knowledge of Aunt Rowena’s list planted a seed in their hearts. Their time together was just so sweet and Professor Haskins is a caring man. I would like to see his hair.

I am really delighted with this story and it is on point as it is not a long book. The twist at the end was nice as it brought to light the importance of family. If you love regency romance, art and a trip on the Orient Express, this one's for you!

What a lovely quick read this was. I have noticed there are other books in the series and will endeavour to read them. Definitely recommend!!

This is the first story I have read from the Romance on the Orient Express series and I was drawn right in. What a fabulous adventure for these sweet characters. Aunt Rowena and her friends are so much fun. I love the honesty between Gigi and Clyde. I have a feeling I need to read more of this series to know all there is to know about Nicholas, still, he is intriguing. What a fabulous way to learn more about the world!

From her name — Rowena Georgina Ballard II — to wanting to be a clothing designer to traveling with a twilight seniors group at the insistence of her aunt, Gigi doesn’t really belong. But we quickly find that she has a lot in common with Clyde Haskins, the tour leader.

A sweet story about forgiveness and second chances, I was drawn in from the start, and enjoyed the wit and love between the characters.

All the books in the Orient Express series can be read as stand-alones, but I love the easter eggs hidden each one, and that they are all tied together with a love of art in one form or another. I would highly recommend this book, as well as the others.

Clean novel, but rather bland. The first half is a travelogue and the last half is the typical teary-eyed female and couple misunderstanding that needs to be overcome.

I found this book quite delightful. I loved the letters at the beginning of the chapters. I loved the group of women who encouraged and rallied around Gigi. This is a wonderful addition to the Oriental Express series. I am even more intrigued by Nicholas now! I look forward to the final book coming out in August.

I really liked the setting; the glimpses of the Orient Express made me want to go book a spot in a sleeper car and the stops on the art tour had me longing to go on a tour of my own. I also enjoyed seeing Gigi and Clyde fall for one another. I didn't love the main conflict in their romance; I won't give away what it is in order to avoid spoilers, but my personal preferences have always made this type of conflict one that I just don't care for. However, I did like how Clyde finally got to the point of reconciliation and the conclusion of the book. This is a good choice for those looking for a sweet historical romance.
3.5 stars.
I read an ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
