This is a beautifully written story about a girl called Hannah and the problems she lives with as a person who suffers from Asperger's Syndrome. Hannah is unable to gain employment due to the simplest tasks having to be explained to her several times. Prospective employers are unwilling to spend extra time on people who need more tuition teaching them to carry out their work.. With no job and regular salary it becomes necessary to house share and Hannah finds that it is not easy living with other girls who are not always patient. Hannah tends to defer to her house mates due to feelings of inferiority.

Like a lot of Asperger's sufferers Hannah is very artistic and talented. Hannah's main ambition in life is to have her writing published, but in the meantime she works as an extra on what is currently the most popular t.v. show in the country and this helps to pay her rent. Some people consider Hannah to be lucky to work with famous people, but it's really quite ordinary with plenty of time spent sitting and waiting to be called to play a part. Hannah gets more opportunity to do some real acting at her local theatre group and enjoys mixing with like minded people who she is more comfortable with. This is where she meets Christopher, a young man who she considers to be a complete computer nerd. However, when she gets to know Christopher better her thoughts begin to change. Could he be her knight in shining armour? And after a series of misadventures, and many trials, will success come to Hannah?

The Author, Emma Kathryn, has written an entertaining and sensitive novel, and it is hoped that the many people suffering Asperger's Syndrome will gain inspiration from reading it.

The Pathbreaker is an exciting novel that centers around a women named Hannah Jones. She's a struggling actress and author trying to break out in her industry. While she has a steady income from her role as an extra in a popular soap opera, she lives with the constant fear of what will happen if the series ends. Although romance isn't her top priority, Christopher, a friend from her local theater becomes her champion after she is brutally attacked. Hannah isn't sure who to trust, but she has to figure out why she's being targeted before it's too late.

In addition to being an exiting thriller with a healthy side of romance, this novel also gives readers up close and personal look at living life with high functioning autism. Hannah is diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome and this leads to struggles with finding a job that's right for her. All these different elements converge to make this novel impossible to put down.
