i’ve read a few of r.h. sin’s works before but i truly felt that this one resonated with me. his words truly speak to you, they make you feel validated and seen like hearing it from a friend or a loved one. as a person who loves receiving words of affirmation, this one really stuck with me. definitely made it into my top favorite poetry books i own.

This title better not mean what I think it means.

I don’t know how I’d be expected to get through the rest of my life without the words of this man. And this sounds incredibly dramatic, I know. It’s also sort of true in a way.

When I read his words, I just feel understood. I’d always read the pieces he posted on his page, but it wasn’t until I decided to start reading more poetry and buying his books that I really feel as though I started growing as a person. I always feel such a wide range of emotions and sometimes I end up crying, but in the end, I smile, because I know he’s right and they’re words I’ve needed to hear.

I also feel like we’re very similar in a way and it’s partly why I connect with his words so much. The first thing he talks about in this book is wanting to disconnect with social media and reconnect with the people in his life and enjoy the moment. That’s something that’s been an endeavor of mine for the past year and a half or so. I hate being on my phone, I hate being on social media. I feel as though it robs me of so much time that I could be spending with the people I love or doing something I love like reading, writing, and drawing.

His words also fill me with hope that I could experience even half of the love that he and his wife share. With every book, there’s thoughts and pieces for her. I’ve always found that to be the most beautiful parts of his book.

Recommendation: as you guys know, I always recommend his books. I’d recommend his books based off of his heart alone. There’s no way you could read them and not feel something and grow as a person. I recommend them to any and everyone.

I am just catching up on a lot of poetry lately:)
poetry is something I really like to read, especially poems that are deep or very emotional. I like to read and really digest what the author is putting on the pages. RH Sin is always writing poems that are very heartbreaking or trying to get people to see the pain that there are causing. usually it is about relationships that don't make it or someone in the relationship being not the right person. Sin can be direct in the stuff he writes but he can also be very metaphorical. it is really hard for me to connect with some of his poems because they are about heartbreak and I have never been in a relationship to really understand what that is like. Sin kind of makes me see what it is like to be heartbroken or when to get out of a relationship because the other person is being toxic. I really do like his writing and it is very emotional at times.

My favorite line is “I will always love the darkness because it shows me the moon.”

I think once again, R.H. Sin did a great job with this one. I always lurk towards poetry and he constantly puts out a message to women everywhere that we need to recognize our light and know how worthy we are of pure, sweet love and everything good to come to us and that we should have nothing less than that in our lives.

r.h. Sin books were what got me into reading, starting with poetry and going back to chapter books, but this one left me disappointed and longing for what I used to read in whiskey words & a shovel. The poems were very short, often 2 sentences and I did not find them as relatable because they were things like “you cannot turn shit into gold”. No kidding. There were a few poems that were written beautifully, making you double think stances on self worth and experiences in life, but overall it was not great.

I love all of R.H. Sin books. They speak to my soul and mend all of my feels. He gives you a different perspective of heartbreak and he encourages you to never give up. He speaks from experience and speaks to you with love.

I truly appreciate this man and his work, so so so much. It reaches me when I need it most, and for that I am forever grateful.

“I stopped wishing on the stars the moment I gained the courage to bet it all on the moon.” This little phrase, I’ll keep it with me forever.

Going with a 3.5 star rating. Neither here nor there about this one. Some of the poems were nice, a few I connected to and others felt like a very long complaint. I do admit to skipping over the long-winded ones 🙈🙈 I will eventually re-read this some day though.

Not much to say, it was very beautifully written and the author did a wonderful job at expressing the points. Ultimately, find your happiness in life, and don’t stick around for unnecessary bs.

A short collection of poems that focus on self worth, respect for yourself in relationships, and encouragement to grow into the self you were meant to be.
