This is wonderfully written! The explanations are clear, the pictures are very well chosen, and the patterns are gorgeous!
As someone who was specifically looking for tips on how to use self-striping yarn in patterns beyond the pages of this book, I found pages 9-13 to be the most helpful.
The only thing that I have to say is that I would love to know how to determine the what the “maximum number of stitches” is for other patterns.
Many of the designs aren't to my personal taste, but for those who like the style, the patterns look simple enough to follow. There's a lot of grey for a pattern book focussing on colour, but there are some nice rainbow designs in the mix. I like the look of the Backlit Tee, but I have no plans to make anything from this book at this stage.
Came across this book after I planned to knit Sock Arms sweater for myself. One of my fave yarns is Felici by Knit Picks, but I don't want to always knit socks with it. Love the patterns in this book!! ❤️❤️❤️
I can’t wait to dive into my stash for self-striping yarns. I’ve already bookmarked five projects that are calling to me. Great photos, very detailed instructions and schematics. There’s something for knitters of all levels. This ebook is a terrific value.
I checked this one out from the library, but I think I’m going to have to get my own copy… there are several great patterns and creative ways to use striping yarn! And now I really want to make my own Bright Axis Tee :)
On my want list (borrowed from library). Interesting construction, lots of technique how-tos, good index. I did not care for most of her hats, but there are many patterns that look intriguing here.
There were several patterns that I want to knit from this book. I appreciate that it includes a lot of information on pairing yarns and learning how to knit with striping yarn. I also really like that it has a glossary in the back and I list of yarn resources!
Fun throughout, and the Sock Arms Cardigan is really a stand out pattern. The author gives great notes on modifying designs for fit and yarn selection.
